DON’T CHOOSE TD! Terrible drive tracking app
The app tracks your driving inaccurately and gives you lower scores than what accurately reflects the drive. Reviewing trips is a nightmare too as 9 times out of 10, the app isn’t working to let you review the trips and you end up running out of time to review trips that aren’t yours and you get dinged with poor scores cause the app itself wasn’t working.
TD My Advantage App
An excellent app that gives me feedback on my driving. I do need to figure out how to manoeuvre roads that are being constructed and have many potholes and rough patches as they create a new bridge and road, Best not to drive on them although it is the closest to my house.
Bad app
Extremely slow loading. Hassled login. Logs you out every time. Doesn’t prompt or notify to mark your trips as driver or passenger. But will increase premiums if u font manually find the trips and review them. Generic tips on improving driving score to reduce premiums. Like how am i supposed to know what I SPECIFICALLY NEED TO DO TO IMPROVE MY DRIVE SCORE
Version 6.9.0 broke tracking
The new app (2025/10) is a major improvement on the last one. However, be warned that if you upgrade right before the 6 month mark of collecting your driving data TD will not transfer your old data and you will be stuck starting over (so old discount continues but no improved discount even though driving score has been stellar for just under 6 months). Your old data is apparently lost. No warning. How convenient. Been through the entire complaint system x2 without success. Big bank/insurer does what big bank/insurer wants. Second issue is since the 6.9.0 update, the app no longer logs in new trips. Followed all the steps with support without success: made sure tracking and movement are activated, all permissions are activated, logged-out, restarted the phone, etc. As of yesterday they “submitted a formal form” and the expected delay is 3 weeks. Remember that if you don’t log any trips for 40 days they can cancel the program. Remember to insist for a “ticket number” as they don’t automatically create or give you one, and while they state that everything is detailed in your client file I have found this to not be the case on several occasions.

App sucks, customer support is terrible, rates going up annually despite no incidents. Avoid TD insurance.
No helpful and full of glitches
Worst company to deal with and there employees are so dumb. Insurance is the biggest scam.
My Advantage is scammy
It's just a modern scam to increase rates. Impossible to judge anything but speed. What if the Co passenger uses the phone? Is that distracted driving? Lacking common sense
Unethical
Even when data tracking is turned off, they will still use your data to adjust premiums!! Absolutely unacceptable
Not accurate and buggy
I have been noticing that my app is not recording my trips from couple of weeks. Same thing happened before as well and i takes too long to load all trips… very slow …

Too slow to delete trips where I was not driving.
Trips not being recorded
This is much better than the old td advantage app. But the app still feels unpolished. Takes a lot of time to load all the trips. Half of time it times out. Such a bad user experience. I thought TD is at the forefront of innovation, but this apps paints a different picture. You should hire real developers (I myself is one) who have the guts to call out bad designs and terrible user experience. Giving two stars due to the other stuff that’s in the app.
Terrible- Do Not Get- You will not get a discount.
This app is terrible to use if you drive in any areas with limited cell reception. When there is a light on the map due to poor reception, it will flag you as rapid acceleration or rapid breaking when in fact it the connection being slower delayed. There is no way to correct or comment when these things happen and you just the ding. It is not worth it, and the rates of savings are severely low. This is just an opportunity to jack up your insurance to make you pay more. It’s like playing a video game that you’ll never be able to win. The insurance company will win every time.
July 2 update - broken
After the July 2 2026 update my app no longer tracks drives, please advise what I should do. Otherwise I have enjoyed the app

Trips no longer getting recorded
It’s due to 6.9.0 update.
brutal app
very buggy and slow. won’t let me in half the time. combines trips. If you drive somewhere and then are stopped in a parking lot (for example), and then leave that place to go somewhere else, it will combine the trips and say you used your phone while driving. very stupid.
TD My disadvantage
New app is very inaccurate and after 7 days even if there app is down it still counts your drives if you weren’t even the one driving and gives you a worse rating this app is horrible.
No option to activate
The app does not give the option to activate MyAdvantage. Dealing with TD’s CR is a nightmare to deal with.
