As above, some minors things bug me but better overall experience than other banks I used.
Incredibly unhelpful
My account was shut down and my attempt to get my money transferred despite multiple calls and emails still has not been accomplished. Incredibly frustrating. After my 4th call the person I spoke to claimed to not be apart of the team managing that and would pass it on, the same claim made by the person I had called the week before. Do not use this bank.
Almost there.
This is a great app. However, it does need an option for a dark mode, not just system dependent. At the very least offer some wallpapers that are a bit darker. Also the text type needs to be bolder. It is too small. More card control options would make this app superior. It is so close.

Recent Searches
When deleting an item from the list of recent searches on the search page, it just reappears the next time on that page. This recent searches list is also no longer updating based on searches. There is also no way to provide feedback directly to Macquarie about this app.
Excellent bank
I’ve been with Macquarie for years. They are way better than other banks I’ve been with. Competitive interest rates, no international fees, great app experience, ATM transaction fee refunds, etc. Not to mention their customer support is amazing. Highly recommend!
i really wnTed to bank with macquarie
Had opened my account and in the same day it was blocked and closed because of terms and conditions, Never told me what term and conditions. I never actually did anything and it’s quite frustrating

My only complaint is the inability to both provide a foreign phone number and still tick email as the best means of contact. Why isn’t it possible to provide the number I’ll be using whilst away, yet still have email as preferred contact method?
App upgrade requires that I buy a more up to date device
I can no longer open the Macquarie app because my iPad is a few years old. How do I move my funds to another bank when I can’t access my funds?

App is worse not working properly
Worse app I have ever experienced it , I am in overseas can’t access my account , email customer service two times no one fix the problem and I need money to withdraw, really bad experience.
Very decent
Macquarie offer great hassle free banking. Great interest and top notch security. Their digital offering is good however for a digital only bank that is quality it has some quite odd issues. Merchant logos and clear transaction descriptions! NAB has correct logo and description for basically everywhere. Macquarie picks up the majors but gets it wrong a lot. Kmart logo actually displays the American Kmart logo bizarre. Also insights - needs upcoming bills and the ability to move them in importance on the insights page. Cash flow I want to Love to the top and hide monthly budgets Hope Macquarie keep improving the app Can’t fault them but just needs a polish

Seamless
Poor security and support
No other bank requires a poorly designed separate app for authentication of transactions. Also, no other bank takes 45 minutes on a call to unblock a card. Macquarie is the worst bank I’ve used in Australia. Security precautions are outdated, and customer support is slow.

Unusable
If you start the use of the app when your phone version was on 15.5 on IOS, Now if you can’t update above 16.0 ver you can’t use the app. That means you got kicked out of your bank and money control.

Not Happy So Far
Opened account and they spent most of the day blocking my account everytime I made a transaction, now I can’t even use the card because they blocked that too. So now all my money is sitting here waiting for them to send me an actual card. Don’t recommend so far

Great app simple and fast
Genuinely terrible experience trying to set up a joint account
My partner and I wanted to set up a joint account and thought Macquarie would be the best option based on online reviews and discussions with family. Instead, we’ve spent the last 2-3 weeks waiting to verify my partner’s ID, with no success. My partner could not use the in-app communication system and has instead been having to communicate via email and phone with multiple customer support reps to try and resolve it. We’ve now given up and gone with a different bank. The only reason I give a one-star review is that the process of cancelling the account application is that it took literally 3 messages between myself and the support agent to cancel the application via the banking app, which was very efficient. Otherwise I’d be giving it zero if possible.

App is great but when transferring between accounts the font of the available balance is tiny!! Can you pls make it bigger so I can read it 😂
Horrid banking app, used to be great
Update: Transferring funds between Macquarie accounts and sending money to external accounts is now broken. The app gets stuck on the processing step. Shameful app development by Macquarie! Do better. Changing my review to one star. Original: The notifications issue was fixed in one of the last updates, however due to existing issues with the Macquarie Authenticator app which currently nulls all notifications, I must rate this app two stars until the companion app is also fixed. Macquarie has made it so you must use the Macquarie Mobile Banking app and the Macquarie Authenticator app in order. There is no work around, no go between, unless you want to contact their foreign customer service team. Macquarie needs to stop ignoring user feedback. The notification failure issues for both apps has been on-going for several months. The Macquarie Authenticator app needs to be rolled into this app. There is no good justifiable reason why they are separated. This banking app is very basic compared to other financial institutions and their apps. Some people may prefer this simplicity but this also shows lack of investment in online mobile banking. Macquarie can do a lot better.
Great app experience
The app experience over all is amazing, looks great, and love that it doesn’t try push any sales or marketing on me - no BS, just simple and what I need! I found it hard to find some of the settings when I first joined, though eventually found them deep under the menu.
Poor customer service
I lost access to my Macquarie accounts because the latest updates of their app and Authenticator weren’t compatible with my operating system. I rang customer service and they organised for me to use online banking with a $2000 limit but said I’d have to buy a new phone to restore full access! Seriously? It’s my money…
