My experience
Today I became a first time westpac customer. I am not a fan of IT if anything I consider myself as IT illiterate lol. So I attended the Hamilton Branch to enquire about opening a savings account whilst with the teller a lady approached us and asked the teller could she help,her name was Jo Beletich who stated that she had a appointment not show up. Teller politely accepted and I followed Jo into an office.Let me start by saying she was so lovely and she went above and beyond to assist me even guiding me through the WONDERFUL phone app that you possess and she was great, I truly couldn’t say anything better about my experience I was very impressed. Future improvements
Please consider these suggestions for future updates: dark mode, Liquid Glass, timestamp and pending label for transactions, and transactions actually appearing in order of when they were made!!
Performance is non-existent
Why does it take 1-2 minutes, yes minutes, just to load this app? Can someone on the dev team get AI to do a performance review and fix it plz?
Issue with total account
There was an issue where the total account appeared inflated as it automatically paid my credit card but hadn’t update the account it took the money from. Thought I was much richer than I was for around a day.

Its is hopeless app . Takes me around and around to change a daily payment limit .such a waste of time using it.
Good but an annoying bug
Generally good app. But recently it’s become impossible to set up a future dated BPay payment in the app. I am pretty sure I used to do this by tapping on the word “Today” but that no longer works.
Sign in after app update
Hi, I’ve never had a problem with the app however after the recent update, I have to constantly re-enter my customer i.d & after signing in am prompted by 5 pop ups about setting up face I.d or to continue using password, insights & other features of the app. I have no way of turning any of this off, I have tried deleting & reinstalling the app but am still forced with these prompts after signing in. This is frustrating when trying to login & make a quick transaction or check balance. Prior to the update my customer I.d was saved with astricks so I only needed to enter my password & I was then able to view my accounts straight away without any further prompts that I needed to click “next” to get through to finally view my accounts. Could any of this be fixed? Thanks,
Great app, but has a bug
A great reliable app until the recent update. I now lose my favourite accounts every single day and they all automatically hide. I reached out to Support and they said it should sort itself out. What a strange response… very frustrating.

Ongoing Quick Balance Issue
I have not been able to access account information in Quick Balance for months no matter what I try and when I try to provide feedback about the app it fails 😠😠😠, both phone and app are updated to latest version

Westpac employee support over the phone was not helpful . This lady was snarky and had sour tone
Verify ID broken
Needed the app to verify my ID. Requires both an Aussie drivers license and and passport. I don't have a drivers license. Bank says online verification will accept other IDs and only requires one

Useless.
Opened an account and within a few hours the fraud team flagged it as fraudulent because my old name doesn't match (more likely because it doesn't look white). So now the app doesn't work for me at all and I can't get my money back. "Just go into the branch". "It's just our process". Do better.

Hidden accounts
My accounts get hidden, uninstalled app 3 times, edited accounts, still hides all accounts
Cashless deposit
The app should be cashless deposits enabled. Since you can now withdraw without the physical card. Cashless deposits would work the same method except your putting money into your account not withdrawing from it. This will remove the need for the physical card completely.
Safest bank for big payments amount on online transactions
OTP and dynamic cvc features put westpac security more reliable.How i wish westpac offer dynamic CVC on E-wallet accounts.
Chat does not work

Authenticated device useless with VPN
Recently I’ve been getting logged out and having my account locked until I call Westpac to unblock me - why? Using a VPN. So an additional layer of security I use is interpreted as a security attack. Absolutely frustrating. Have been using the app for years with no problems until the last two or so months. It’s almost annoying enough to move banks because I use the banking app very frequently.
Still hasn’t fixed new payee issue
This has been an issue surely for a couple of years now. When I pay a new payee, I need a code to verify. It says it’s sent a code to my phone through the westpac app but I’m currently in the westpac app already and there’s no way to see the code, I’d have to cancel the transaction, which would void the code anyway. So instead, I have to click resend, THEN an option for ‘resend via sma’ comes up. Just tired of doing this dance every time.

Frustrating
I'm genuinely disappointed with the app. It crashes every couple of minutes, the transactions don't come through from Thursday so i can't have data on my budget until Tuesday
Very bad exchange rates
I would like to see your exchange rates for the day before I take cash on my ccard. I was shocked at how much your company takes...! It’s unbelievable.... I will definitely not use the Westpac credit card to get cash overseas again!!!
Always won't connect
I use the app a lot and it has a mind of its own whether it wants to connect - telling me there is an error and try again later dies really not cut it when my other bank apps work fine all the time
Not bad but not quite there
It’s great for doing basic banking, but whenever I ask the virtual assistant for something, it gives me a link, I tap it, and it just reloads the home screen.

Trying to ask about my joint account issue and to deposit a cheque online, called customer service, got put on hold for 40 mins, got transferred to 5 different departments and they hang up on me. No one has an idea how to fix it and tell me to go to a branch. Your branch teller told me to go back online to do it. Try connect through chat, wait for 3 hours was advised the most general information. If those general information helped, I wouldn’t reach out to customer service would I? What a joke

Rewards website doesn’t open in Safari!
From the mobile app on iPhone - try to open the website for rewards (safari) and the website glitching!! disappointing!!

Worst application experience
The worst experience trying to submit an application for credit card. Got transferred to 4 different teams, then to go to branch, branch then told me to call online. After a whole day of this mess, I still have not managed to submit an application and will go to a different provider. Waste of time
Useful app, but tired interface...
The app's functionality has been fine in my experience, but the interface looks quite dated and crummy - NZ's westpac app looks great, and westpac AUS needs to follow their example in terms of design.

Login field error
The login/username field limits you to numbers only, my login isn’t numbers only. No mobile deposit, plus being a bank this app should have 2step verification text codes, last century banking compared to the us
