Left 3D Gotcha for this
Really complex mobile game that scratches all the right tactical itches. Card collecting, interactivity, team building, and the interplay with 3 match gameplay is so creative. Exceeding expectations
Can’t even get pasted the starter mini boss
Literally in the first the tutorial level you cat beat the mini boss because the game has terrible RNG has a player and it always benefits the enemy and you can’t even go back to any levels and grind and also you can’t move on you are soft locked into this until you beat it which you can’t. So horrible do better devs

Good game to many updates
I used to play gems of war around when it first came out but one thing led to another and I lost my account, it is a very fun game and I just came back to it. They have changed alot and most of it is good but they removed the color on the borders of cards indicating what rarity it is now they are all black and it is ugly, the best part of the game is seeing your team of all mythic cards that you leveled up and now that is sullied, still good game wish they would change the borders back.

Difficulty mechanics feel cheap and won’t let me have old account back
Love everything about the game except the cheap mechanics they employ to create difficulty. For example, not giving you mana on gem matches even when no enemy has that sort of effect, or enemies taking more life on you than they should or or taking less on a hit with no status or trait that would explain. Also I have emails of purchases from old account but when I try to load account it says it doesn’t exist

Great game takes a little to power up allies.
Confusing
Actual gameplay is straightforward, albeit not random and slanted in the opponents favor at times. Often need to exit the match and try again until they give you a board that’s winnable. Everything outside the match is confusing and convoluted. Nothing is explained, like how to obtain souls to level up, or obtain new characters, or really anything.

Fun game that keeps me when at home when chores are done.
Bad Practice
Terrible practice of making massive mistakes that negatively impact all players, lack of apology and accountability we just get a vague “we understand it’s frustrating”, and the server rollback by taking away everyone’s progress with no compensation. The “compensation” provided is pathetic and offensive. Don’t spend money on this game. GOW, YOU made the mistake, not us players. Penalizing the entire playerbase to punish us for YOUR mistake is asinine.

Would rate a 5 but the game says I have no linked accounts even though I had linked my account on my previous iPhone I had zhuul goth and all kinds of other things just to lose it all when I got a new phone. Very disappointing.
Lots of potential
I really do like the game. Smooth mechanics, solid gameplay and fun concept. However the game is very obnoxious constantly begging for purchases. I wish I could just drop a few bucks on the game and then not have to hear about the pay to win options the whole time.
Great Game
This is a great game. I love the 3 in a row/ troop collector base. I downloaded it on mobile and console. Highly recommend if you like those types of games.
Bug?
Had my hero with the Leprechaun ability after Leprechaun kept moving around in Terror then fled but his ability stayed behind my hero and I was able to cast Leprechauns spell rather than my hero’s and literally cost me the much anticipated win after multiple tries. I took screenshots.

PVP Gem Lock
This game is fun until you try PVP and have a win locked down just for the board to freeze and force you to retreat. I do not recommend this game to anyone. FIX THE GEM LOCK!!!! I quit. Two matches in a row? STOP ADDING FEATURES AND ADDRESS YOUR GAME’S ISSUE! I pay for the PVP season pass and this issue has ruined the game for me. You have lost a paying player.
Time killer $$
Game does not hold your hand. Player base dropping. However, if you want an RPG match 3 game l, this is it. Lots to do and good graphics. Maybe too much and progression is slow unless you pay. But as a free player it has enough to keep you frustratingly motivated
15+ years of excellence
I’ve been playing this game, left, came back: it just gets better and better. Found an awesome guild with real people in it who chat with each other. Enjoy all the daily quests, even the new systems have just made things more and more streamlined. Great game. Not money hungry, and the art is tasteful and not all little loligirls in skimpy outfits.

Urgent Fix Needed for Chinese Text Display After iOS 26 Update I've been a loyal player of this game, but after updating to iOS 26, the Simplified Chinese text in the game has become completely unreadable. The font appears distorted and strange, with many characters missing—for example, "宠物" now only shows as "宠". This issue occurs on both my iPhone 13 Pro and iPad Pro 2021. It's extremely frustrating, and I've almost lost interest in opening the game since the update. I truly hope the development team can address this as soon as possible. If this is fixed promptly, I’ll gladly update my review to 5 stars. Thank you!
Good game
It is fun to play, but it can get expensive very quickly.
Reward videos lock machine and fail to give rewards
Played this a lot level 1000+ but the reward videos are poorly implemented. 9 times out of ten they play right to the end of the 30 seconds then black screen of death and I have to close down the game, I appreciate this is how the developers get their income but as an advert for new games I’d be worried downloading them if their promotional videos do not work on this game.
Stuck on Create Your Hero page
Played the first three tutorial levels just fine, but now i’m stuck on the create your hero page, where I pick a character, but then it will glitch out instead of going to the game map and bring me back to the Create Your Hero page. I downloaded the app on my iPad and it has the latest iOS installed, so I’m going to keep trying but I may just wait to get a Nintendo switch to play the game.

It’s supposed to be random how gems fall or created or destroyed etc etc but it’s clear as day it almost always done calculated so that it benefits the opponent Fix this then I’ll redownload
Gems of war
Gems of war I started the game this morning. It is fantastic game I quickly moved up levels. I did find that when I got to level 5 I did get more challenging. I did not realise that I could strike back with spells. Now the game has become more interesting. Level 6-9 were hard but fun it would be nice to have more skulls.
Crashing
I been playing for years, but lately I have experienced crashing. Some days it will let me play without crashing. Then there are days it crashes and slows down to a point of annoyance. Are you doing it on purpose because I am not a hardcore gamer. Or is it due to money? If anyone is experiencing the same please post. I am using an iPhone 6.
For a free game…
I am not sure if I have hit the wall where the game becomes unplayable unless i invest in it. So far i have put several hours in. It is worth a download, but not sure if it is worth paying to win.
Super Fun
Addictive but in a good way
All gameplay powercreeped out
- High level troops disable matching gameplay,you only sit and watch at infinite looping, yours or enemy’s . Insane grow of stats and horrible balance make most of troops/weapons/classes/talents useless . PvP-matchmaking after level 1000 broken and almost always matching you against teams with triple stats of yours. Overabundance of battle passes, cash-grab “events”, and constant spam of unblockable “special offers” which is always ripoff. + When event restrictions permit you from building overpowered team without gameplay, its pretty fun to play.

Massive money wall, don’t bother.
The core game never really changes but you get to a point where your opponents can one shot you and the only real way to win is to pay to upgrade or boost your troops. Shame really as I enjoy the gem matching part but if you start paying the kinds of money they want, it would put you way past the cost of say a triple-A PS5 game. And let’s be honest, this is not that, it’s just a little mobile game you kill some time with. The whole game should cost you no more than £10-15. No sorry, not worth the money to play.

Amazing but...
Gems of war is my absolute favourite game on mobile…. Sorry, WAS my absolute favourite game. I’ve dumped so much money into this name without question and had no problem doing such. However…. The last couple of updates really ruined the game for me. One, if you’re playing on iPhone get ready for the game crashing after certain critical battles. There is a way around this, but not within the game program. The devs simply won’t or can’t fix it. Second, with the addition of lycanthropy the game has become stupidly unbalanced. This new gameplay feature has ruined the game in my opinion. I am a high level level experienced player. But lycanthropy has ruined the game. Almost reason enough to hang it up. I don’t see them removing or nerfing this in favour of the player also so it’s pretty much game over for me. Too bad, this game was amazing. Not so much anymore.

But a very enjoyable game, nicely done. (Played only a few hours, we’ll see if the game is forcing a pay to win scheme eventually)
Pleasant Surprise
I was looking for a match 3 game night to relax, and saw Gems of War mentioned in a forum. What a great find. It provides a different take on the standard match formula and makes itself accessible and fun for even f2p players with hours upon hours of engaging gameplay.
Nope not anymore
I hate all the new update. I don’t enjoy anymore. I have not missed a day but I don’t plan on playing anymore.
Love it but cant cross platform
I would love to use my ps4 account as I love the game and would give it 5 stars otherwise!
Crashing all the time
Keeps crashing all the time no matter what device I play on (2 different iPhone and 2 different iPad) for a game that’s been out for years it’s totally inexcusable. If devs can’t be bothered to fix their game than I can’t recommend it. It’s a shame cause it’s a great game when it’s working.
Can’t Play Now
I am running into a bug where my App Store doesn’t recognize there is a new update and my game will not open until I have the update downloaded. Please address this, I love the game and am a relatively high level and now I can’t play

sadly, no longer the great game that it used to be
I’ve played GoW for years, and loved it. But over the last few years the slowly accumulating amount of bugs not fixed, the increasing amount of for-cash offers and the current changes to the guild events have turned GoW into a painful grind. The fun is almost gone. All that’s keeping me going right now is my guild. I’ll be leaving soon.
Game lyes to you before you even start playing
So I go to start playing the game and it’s like “ hey you need to download this 50 mb patch” I’m at work with no wifi so I say “no please don’t do that” so it starts downloading it anyways though I specifically did not hit the ok button. So not a good sign of the first thing it does is metaphorical flip you off to start spending your money!
Can no longer recommend
I would not advise anyone to take up this game now although I have had several enjoyable years playing it. With every update it becomes more of a grind and nearly impossible for new players. Sadly my star ratings have gone from a high of 5 to now a lowly 2

Am a recent user and was just getting into and enjoying the game until the last update and now I can’t use it. Keep getting unable to connect to server. Restart game.
