Still good but….
I’ve been playing since 2012 and loved it until the Avengers movies started coming out. Then, it tried to overwork itself trying to keep up. Bad graphics, wayyyy glitchy and sometimes doesn’t even load up. Besides that, great game!!
Save your time and money!
Awful game. I’ve been playing for almost 4 years now and it’s gone down to the bottom. Super laggy so be prepared for dizziness. Don’t purchase ascended characters because they will get nerfed after a couple weeks so you’ll waste your money. You will lose your account for no reason and you can’t connect your account to anything so you’ll waste have to just put in a ticket and wait over a week for them to contact you in hopes they can retrieve everything. The game is almost impossible to start without purchasing anything because the players that have been around for so long so good luck trying to grow, and as soon as you discover a meta team it will be another nerf to those characters so you’re back at the bottom. Not to mention you just wasted time and resources to grow characters that are now obsolete. I used to love this game and for the last three months I’ve probably played 10 minutes. I was even in a top25 alliance, so trust me, I know how to play. It’s just not worth it anymore. Knowing that whatever I do or as soon as I start having fun they will come in and nerf everything again. Can’t move forward, can’t grow, lucky if the game even opens up when you go to play it. I hope I reach people before they waste their time and money, 1 star. I would give less if I could.
Bugs 07/26
writing this again because my yelena belova does even less damage at lvl 560. 2k damage when you’re in matches with opponents who are lvl 300 plus with 50k plus health is a joke. I paid for this character and to have her suck so bad feels like either really bad development, or an inconsiderate balance that takes away any value from the character especially after being advertised for a a dollar amount.

I've been playing this game daily for over 13 years with the same team. But this last “update” has completely messed up gameplay. You need to fix this as soon as possible.
Bugs/ Crashes
Love this game.. but recently The game keeps freezing and making me restart the app completely. pVP events I come so close to winning and it just freezes. Other than the freezes the game is still fantastic!
Horrible
Every time they update this game it goes Horribly wrong! It either Runs slow or cant get past the Marvel Screen! Yesterday another update & Bam just Loading constantly! I Restart my phone & same result. I uninstall & reinstall & same result. What the hell seems like it’s the new Norm since last year you guys cant get an update Right!! I have been playing since day 1 & i dread when i see a new update. Im about ready to give up on this Game.
Finally
I’ve been playing this game for over ten years and I’m finally strong enough to actually have fun and be able to actually win in the verses mode. This is a pay to win game so that’s why it took me so long. Versus mode is still unfair but it’s finally manageable.
What’s going on?!
Thank you for implementing my suggestions regarding my past version of this review! New problem, the load sequence won’t take me to the Main Menu after I updated this app. I have tried reinstalling the game and rebooting my device and still cannot get to the Main Menu. I tried loading into the game with and without a wifi connection as well. Are you trying to lock out your player base who enjoy Deadpool’s Daily Missions and main quests? I understand the need to optimize a piece of software to debug it semi-regularly, but this is a whole new level of weird. I’ve been playing this game since its release. I enjoy this game and love the mechanics and micro-strategies for resource-gathering. Keep up the great management. Please release a patch ASAP! Thank You!
Too many Glitches
Doesn’t load game, even after loading 100%… infinite red spnning circle inside another red spinning circle. Been like this ALL nght!
Change isnt always good
Been playing since it first started 14 years ago. We have seen many upgrades and changes over the years. Been great fun. However, since Nov 2025, the app is at its worst. Gameplay crashes. Character switches show the wrong art. Firing powers crash. Sad to say that it may be time for new management.
If you like bugs bugs & more bugs
After playing this “puzzle game” for over 3800 days I have put up with a lot of kicks, stalls, & improper achievements. The last character drop (Boomerang) I couldn’t start the story mode because I didn’t have the brand new character. It appears the developers don’t want anyone to play the story mode. This 4.6 rating is overrated. The only grace to Marvel Puzzle Quest is the customer support behind the game.
Unable to load since the new update - 8/20/26
A new update arrived on 8/19 for me, and since then, I am stuck at the loading screen, with the red swirly. I have uninstalled, restarted the iPad, check network connection, ect… Once Fixed, I will provide a high rating. Thank you

Awful Developers
Last 2 updates have completely ruined the game; y’all should be fired. D3 is absolutely awful. Been playing 14 years & now the game won’t even load. FAIL.
This is my favorite game on my IPad, but…
Almost every time there is an update it locks up on the load screen. I have had to delete, re-download, and reinstall my account/characters numerous times. This has been the case all day today. I pay the $10 a month and lost an entire day of play! I know - 1st world problems…there are more important things in life…but, as a paying customer, I’m getting really tired of these lock-ups.
underrated game
This game is amazing. I remember playing this game a long time ago, back in 2013. Which is actually the year it came out. I got it in December I believe. At the time there was still in its potential spot but like anything else, with time it becomes greater. So, I recently downloaded it again, probably January of 2026 and it’s changed so much; for the better! There are way more Marvel characters than I can keep up with. Of course you want to keep all the covers you get but unless you pay to get more space you’re forced to lose them or sell them for crystals. It’s ok because down the road you eventually run back into those covers you need for newer missions, etc. I’ve spent probably $100 alone because I chose to. It’s addictive, keeps you entertained, kills time, and the developers have really kept it authentic. In the words of Deadpool, “Your crazy matches my crazy.”
They hate the players
This game used to be great. Now whoever is coding it must’ve skipped the day they taught coding at coding school. Latest update is a good example. They basically rolled out an update that renders the game nonfunctional. You simple can’t login. Development says they’re trying for a fix by next week. Meanwhile the game itself relies heavily on timed events and scheduling. Don’t bother with downloading. They hate the players.

Fun for a puzzle game. However, worst offers than any of the superhero games. You can’t help but laugh when you see them. It’s like what the hell. Except Marvel Contest of Champions that’s like playing roulette at the casino.
Not as good as it once was
Coming back to this game after about a 2 year break and it’s a buggy mess. The daily pulls for the legendary covers cycles endlessly. The scrolling and gameplay animations are choppy and slow. I get events suggested to me that are already completed while the event that still needs to be done is like 6 nodes off the the right. Anytime I switch screens the scroll position is reset which makes it difficult to track what you’re trying to look at. And finally, my team regularly defaults to shuri, Valkyrie, and some other random character, none of which I regularly use. All in all these aren’t large complaints, but are all things that weren’t happening in the game 2+ years ago. Seems like regression to me.
Frequent Crashes / Possible 60fps Issue on iPhone 17
On iPhone 17 and the latest version of iOS, I am experiencing frequent app crashes accompanied by screen shaking/flickering! There is a high probability that a 60fps issue is the primary reason. I hope this gets fixed as soon as possible.

Update bug/issues - lost all data
The new update caused me the same issue - I have had to delete the App and reinstall it. Unfortunately it hasn’t uploaded my day from Facebook correctly and I have lost over 5 years of game data, characters and resources. Can you help me?
Generic Bot Responses
For several months now and that is putting it lightly because I am too embarrassed to state exactly how long nothing has been said to indicate that my problems with this game are fully recognized and understood and what is actually being done to fix them.I cannot appreciate those generic chat bot message replies in response to my detailed explanations for a better understanding of the problems to help the devs .Not one single character that has airborne abilities with other attributes that should be triggered to help this characters and the team they are even work anymore . All I’m getting is a “No Status Change”message in a large blue background box in the centre of the playing board , no abilities or actions fired. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this game and deserve honest human responses that show that these problems are ACTUALLY recognized and are being fixed after such a long time. unfortunately, I will be deleting deleting this game soon , it’s been my favourite mobile game fore many years . This is because there is a consistency of various bugs that occur in this game . It also seems that years of data from my account and thousands of others has not been of enough help to fix these problems completely . Game crashes with very Little to no adequate compensation is more of are common occurrence that I find extremely disrespectful compared to other games. Just being honest, this is such a shame.
Used to be great, now very slow
I’ve been playing this game for almost 10 years now. It used to be great, but in the past 2-3 years it has become very slow and glitchy. It’s gotten to the point that I no longer enjoy playing because the graphics are so bad. I keep hoping every update or will fix whatever the issue is, but I’m tired of waiting and not sure I will continue playing this anymore. It’s not a phone issue either because I have had new phones (as recently as 1 month ago) but the laggy graphics remain a problem.
Nothing like it
I started playing again during the fiasco of the new update. Aside from the odd loading error, I was able to get my daily fix of match-3. Fast forward a month and I’ve spent way more on this than any other game, that it became my main time sink.

They forced through an update that broke the game for every user.
Addictive but buggy
Playing this for years with friends, but latest releases have been extremely buggy. Screen alignment issues. Changing UI that does not improve game experience. And as of latest patch, won’t even let you in, all I get is MARVEL logo and hangs there. I’ll give it a week and look at uninstalling.

Update 6/03/26 - game is still buggy. for about a month now, when i intend to close the app by swiping up and out, the app freezes and takes the phone with it. my phone is unresponsive for a few minutes until the app comes around. how long has the developer been promising to fix this amazing game engine they switched to? Update 3/13/26 - if it's not one thing it's something else. For about 2 weeks now, the game freezes/crashes during gameplay, then I'm forced to use a heal power up to start all over again b/c the game thinks I retreated. Update 8/7/25 - app won't load past opening splash screen. It's stuck at 42%. Why are you doing this developers? Still your fault. Latest update broke the app. It won't open now. I am not able to play now and can't earn points to earn rewards and it's your fault.

I have been playing this game for a number of years now it is a fun distraction and I never had any issues. Within the last year updates put out slowly you made the game unless usable. Yesterday I downloaded a patch that looked like it was supposed to help improve performance, and it has only made things worse.

New devs ruined game
I have played this game for 11 years and really enjoy it but there are new devs in charge and there has been nothing but issues since they took over. Right now you can’t even play the game until they update it next week since there last update broke the game. This might be the final straw that makes me quit for good

Keeps Crashing
Played this game for 10 years+ All of a sudden won’t stop crashing. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but will delete shortly if not fixed.
Game needs repairs
Gameplay and character development are fine. My rating is coming from the constant crashing on iOS (no issues with Steam). Game freezes, causing the phone to freeze for up to 10 seconds before you can force close the app. Additionally, this will cause characters taking damage for leaving a match. I’ve had to burn through too many health packs to compete in events and there hasn’t been any compensation, however, the dev team is somehow able to create new characters every week. When they allocate their team to fixing game bugs instead of game progression, I’ll change my rating.
Stoped letting me play.
Great game, but after an update on May 8th 2, basically 3 months ago it stopped letting me play, I tried to email you, but it didn’t work for some reason, even though it says it’s compatible on my device, if you could tell me what’s happening, that would be great, I really want my account back.

Recent versions are buggy, laggy
Used to be fast and smooth play but updates over the last few months have made this app slow, buggy and really irritating to use.

But the latest update killed my enjoyment. I had gotten back into the game, I really enjoyed it and allowed it to take up way too much of my time. Thursday, I was forced into an update, my game gets stuck on the loading screen, so I uninstall / reinstall. I’m back in the game, but no safe data. No problem, it’s backed up with Apple. Cannot connect to the Apple servers. Contact customer support on Friday, hear nothing back. Daily check in to feed my habit and still no dice. Compensation lands in my new agent that I played a few levels to get access to the customer service options in game. We’re here on Day 5 and I’ve just given up. Spent too long waiting for customer service to fix it and another long standing member of the game has called it quits. YEARS of progress gone, because of an update that bombed the game back to the Stone Age. “TONY STARK BUILT THIS IN A CAVE!”
