A great game
This game is loads of fun and I truly hope they add to the game.
Zero Strategy anymore. Everything is rigged. Once a fun game. Now unplayable .
Was good at first. Now no one even does raids because dodging, stealth and reviving only work for the opponent ad nausium. 99 % of teams have Pulse in the middle. The beginning of the games lack of fun anymore.The exact same hero’s on my team never dodge, use stealth or revive. The rigging has become out of control. It’s not even subtle. Also war machines rigged. A good strategy was if it’s a purple WM to use a lot of yellows on your team. Now you’ll start with 90 percent of the screen being the colors you’re not using and one or two yellows. Makes you mad playing instead of having fun.
A few suggestions
Been playing this on and off for a while now. Seeing as it’s basically empires and puzzles in a different skin, how about making it a bit more like E&P? Give us a level 25 base upgrade, more events and event based summons, master trainers/weapons, better buildings with more chances to get rare promotion materials and a barracks that gives you recruits, and 3 heroes from the “watch an ad” daily summon? Levelling up heroes and weapons is so slow if you don’t pay. Make it more like E&P please.
Immediately pay to win
Can’t even make it past being a level 2 without having to use resources to regain energy. Literally don’t even have 20 minutes into playing this game
Sad game
I was having new recruits or advancing them to strong soldiers. It seems the creators don’t care about improving this game, cause it is becoming mundane. If it wasn’t for my friend in my group, I would had left by now. Don’t make the game too hard that we gamers become frustrated. Helps us to improve our soldiers.
Mixed feelings lol
Being playing for a about 3-4 years. It needs more seasons or a new story because once complete there isn’t anything to do other than wait for wars and machines. There should be a better matching system on the alliance wars. Also monthly heroes are continuously getting stronger. There is almost a 100 power point difference from a regular 5* to the current monthly hero. Seems they go up 4-5 points every month. Making a hero that took months to build useless. But the odds to even get the monthly hero. I think it takes 30-40 summons to maybe get one. Aside from maybe getting one or two other 5* from that current event on that pull.
Devs Not Adding Content
Game is stale and unloved. No pity on pulls and no new content or heros being added. Your time is better spent on games who have devs that care about it.
I like this more than Empires & Puzzles
This game is more polished than E&P and plays a lot smoother. For a new player I would recommend this game first. It gives you higher level heroes at a much faster pace (the epic hero ticket at the end of every area is awesome). But, it does still have some of the same negatives, such as way too many pop-ups and an awful story. But, I still find this game really fun and recommend it.
Lackluster gameplay
Game is no longer fun. There has not been any significant updates. The updates have been only to fix the bugs going on in the game. There are no new levels, no new features and it has been this way for the last two years. This game only seeks a payout and offers nothing back to its dedicated community. In closing this game will probably soon lose its ability to keep people excited for game play due to the developers lack of creativity and inspiration. Anybody playing this game would agree that it is no longer as fun as it was to begin with.
WAR SUGGESTION?
IS IT POSSIBLE IN WAR TO MAKE BOTH SIDES USE 36 HEROES? AND CAN YOU BE A LITTLE LESS MONEY HUNGRY? MAKE THE PRIZES BETTER AND NOT SO REPETITIVE! TILES FOR THE WAR MACHINES HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE LATELY! WAR MATCHUPS ARE NOT EVEN! USED TO BE FUN!

Stale!
Used to be a good game, but after 4 plus years of playing it’s become very stale, I gave up on Empire & Puzzles as the gameplay on this was smoother, and this could have been so much better, but now gone back to E&P as it has so much more content, it’s like the Devs have given up with this and putting their efforts elsewhere. Such a shame they can’t use this game engine to improve E&P gameplay
Player for 3-4 years
Amazing game but lack of new feature, campaign and good content. I spent a lot of money in but the game now is not anymore how it use to be. Devs should introduce new campaigns and give more opportunities to a good chance to draw new 5* heroes. Loads of people left because no more new campaings or new excitings events. Do sometime or you will lose more players and big spenders

False advertising at its finest!!!
I have never seen any of these childish garbage mini-games in Puzzle Combat and why would you put that as the screen shot of the game when the game is a match 3 game. That is very low and pathetic to advertise the game this way. The actual game is great and fun but shame on you Zynga. It made me and my friends quit and never touch it again. We will stick with Empires and Puzzles!
Initially good….
This used to be a great game when I started, you could progress slowly without spending money, but if you did spend then the rewards were reasonable with the occasional 5* hero or weapon. However it is increasingly the case that decent rewards are almost impossible to come by and the challenges are getting more and more difficult in order to persuade the player to keep spending. What a shame! Developers deserve to be well rewarded, but when it becomes greedy like this it’s a real disappointment…………..
Fun game.
My family loves this game. We all play on the same alliance and it’s definitely a bonding experience. The only thing is it gets frustrating and hard to keep everyone interested some times. Just one thing I’d suggest would make the game a little funner and a little more to do when you have everything finished, would be if alliance team members could exchange heroes. A lot of us have multiples of the same hero that others don’t have. It would be cool to be able to exchange with others. Would definitely make the game more interesting.

I no longer can access the game. I have deleted nd reinstalled it twice and all I get is a black screen. I have no other way than through this review to contact the developers.
Soul exchange
When will there be a way to exchange multiples of extra 5*s for a desired color/hero? After years of playing I’ve acquired multiple amounts of 5*s for all colors except green. Still only have one green 5*.
The game was fun
This game was my favorite game, and then one day right as I got a bunch of 5 star heroes it shut me out , and whenever I tried to play it said something like: the server can’t connect because of a proxy. So I can never play it!
Hero’s and weapons
So you upgrade your training to level 20 and you have to use a lot of materials to get a EPIC OR LEGENDARY hero’s why do you get 3 star hero’s??? Same goes for the weapons come on! You put all that work in to get cheated!? And all that time you have to wait to get them plus it saids “training with the chance of epic or legendary hero’s”

Fun gameplay, pay to win only though
Honestly, the gameplay is fun and super addicting, but there’s very little incentive to play at all unless you’re willing to pour money into the game. There needs to be a better mixture of progression and pay to win. I’ve received no champions or weapons that have improved my teams long term potential in the past month I’ve been playing through normal drops. If I did I’d be much more inclined to pay to upgrade my team faster. It’s a shame because PVP and PVE are both very fun. Regardless, the developers are still going to make their money, just not from me.
Fun game, fun people make this a win
So I also play the other game made by this developer and I have enjoyed it for several years now so when I saw they had this game I decided to give it a shot. It has a lot of similarity with the other but a totally new theme. That being said it still feels fresh to me because it’s like starting over and since I know more now than I did before I do better. Another thing I like about this game is the people who play it seem like normal people for the most part. People from all over the world and ones that have fun but not at the expense of someone else’s feelings unlike many of the pvp games. I also feel I have gotten decent rewards and heroes so far playing free. As in all games with in app purchases for the most part, patience is needed if you don’t want to buy in. If you like matching puzzles and turn based battling enemies and bosses you will enjoy this game.
Terrible
This game is horrible if you have to reinstall. I haven’t played in a long time. I installed on a new device and it doesn’t give me the option to log into my account. It just keeps going through the tutorial, which is apparently about 10 levels.
Enjoyable but a bit of a grind
Not a bad 3 in a row game. Pay to play is optionable but to be honest if you don’t want to support the devs then this is not the one for you. Tactics can be employed and it is possible to beat higher powered teams that you het matched with. Squad building is interesting. Lots of freebies given away and even free gold (games currency) can be slowly accumulated to buy better squad hero’s. I’d recommend giving it a try.
Ruined by greed
Starts off good but they’ve made it so hard to progress heroes and build up a decent squad, you get stuck on levels for days. It’s taking weeks to get anywhere because they want to make you buy instead of develop/research. I’m deleting it now because it’s sapped the fun out of it. Such a shame
Average
The game is just average! You spend money on the game, only for it to cheat you in battle with a lower power opponent beating you. There should be an option to purchase individual characters to build your team. The algorithm needs to be adjusted to properly match opponents in battle. An opponent that’s 100 power less than you and less trophies, shouldn’t beat you. (Just my opinion)
Wow just wow
Build you teams right and win don’t and die. Have not spent a dime and am advance just fine a little hard but not impossible.
Terrible for noobs
Typical greedy devs. Overload you with popup after popup. Wish they put that level of effort making the game less flawed. Yes it's a skin on top of E&P. Yes half the guilds are filled with dead players. Oh and if you find yourself in a leaderless guild, you can't replace them. In arena battles, there are so few new players, you get shoved up into higher arena levels and get hit so hard and frequent that you can't grow because all your steel and food is taken. As a new player, you can't join active alliances because they want higher trophies than you can amass due to points given above. Plus, you can't do enough damage on War Machines to get any loot. It's just terribly out of balance because there aren't any new players. Potential new players should pass on this game and leave it to the suckers (aka whales) who want to dominate a dead game... I did pay for VIP but my next stop is going to cancel that. I will consider it money well spent for a lesson on why to avoid Zynga games.
Enjoyable if you have a lot of patience
This is a card collecting, resource management game with match 3 gameplay. It is one of the best games of its type, and is very similar to the developers’ earlier Empires & Puzzles. The artwork is superb, their are many varied elements and it is addictive. On the other hand, this isn’t one for those looking to progress quickly and reach some sort of end point. You don’t have to spend hard cash, but if you don’t, progress will be painfully slow. Beware though: there are many players spending large sums of money (hundreds or more a month) and these are the ones who feature at the top of the leaderboards. Beware too that spending money does not guarantee getting what you want. The drop rates are very low for the best heroes and items needed, there is no pity timer, and no facility to swap or trade duplicates.
Pay to play
Whilst the game is playable and passes the time don’t expect to be competitive unless you are willing to spend £1000’s to progress. Developers have made it less and less likely for you to get higher level heroes and weapons, then when you do get one they reduce their effectiveness weeks later in a ploy to get you to spend more £‘s on new ones!
Level 20 training (Legendary)
Okay, this game is not bad for puzzle solving but spending time upgrading training buildings to level 20 is a waste of time. All the updates has taken away any chance of getting “legendary hero”. It only guarantee rare heroes which they already have 5 levels before legendary heroes. This is poor business practice and also false advertising. DO NOT, put legendary hero title on level 20 hero training when it only gives rare heroes.
Empires and Puzzles Clone (in a good way)!
I was a seasoned player in that game for a few years. Spent a little each month and had a blast. My buddy was F2P for years. Paying will always get you better faster but game is enjoyable either way! This game is the same. We both started back up here vs E&P for a fresh start. Love it. Yea, luck is part of any gotcha game. Such is life. Still great mechanics, love the theme being military based. Beautiful interfaces. If you liked E&P you’ll enjoy this very much
Are tiles truly random?
June 2024 Update: this has gotten worse as of late. Just went 8 turns in row without single red tile. I’m not spending time on math but no way tiles are randomly generated. They are manipulated to drive spending by requiring only the newest heros to survive the long dry spells of if tiles There seems to be coding in place that changes percent available of tile colors based on the colors aligned to your heros. The game states random, and when you spend money to build up heros and then the game does not act the way it is advertised it brings into question if the advertising is misleading. My thought is that if there is an audit of their code that shows bias in the tile generation any who spent money should be entitled to a full refund of any money spent. Apple should be policing these behaviors as well. Could be a candidate for a class action lawsuit in my opinion. I am requesting that Apple perform a code review and if any coding impacting the randomness of time to be anything other than random if found, a full refund for any and all historical purchasers should be provided and the that would be blatant misrepresentation.
Second review
Was sure I had already written a review for this but not so sure... First of all - even though it’s free to play, just like empires, it’s obviously a pay to win. Not going to lie, to get anywhere near the top echelon, you will need to spend hundreds. Regularly. You will need to get used to pumping money into it only to get rubbish over and over until you get that one good pull. Because the only way to get the toughest fighters and best weapons is to do this, it’s easy to pile through and you need be strong if you have the money available. Just be careful of your spending - ideally set a limit. Say 50 or 100 bucks a month and VIP subscription and no matter what, just don’t go over said limit. So into the game. Going to just say that I’m (fairly quickly) migrating from Empires to this game. Seeing how the gameplay is (almost) the same, getting into it is straightforward. Knowing the most efficient way of upgrading, levelling up & team building, saves a lot of otherwise wasted time (and money) Looks nice too. Weapon cards are really nicely drawn. The mercs, zombies and other challenge heroes are brilliant. One more thing - in Empires, the chat is becoming really toxic & new players won’t have a chance in hell - nobody seems to have any time to help new players - and with the sheer amount of cash the top players are pumping into the game means you’re gonna have to spend thousands - every month, to build teams to compete for the top places in Events. Literally every single event and season challenges etc. are dominated by the same handful of elite players. Getting boring - and I’ve spent a helluva lot of money over over the past few years. Anyway, this has completely different players & maybe because it’s newer & those players who have spend loads on Empires don’t want to start spending on a second game and/ or giving up on their investment? Either way, chat is more friendly and I’ve had a good laugh recently. Plus I’ve noticed when new players ask for help, there’s always someone willing to speak to them. So yeah - if you haven’t played Empires & Puzzles, I wouldn’t bother and start this instead. If you have played Empires, you’ll be surprised at how similar this is and it feels good being able to plough through the early levels knowing what to build and buy and in what order. All in all, another fun game - it does seem like a bit of a lonely grab tbh - but if I developed an app where people are willing to throw thousands of bucks at, every month, I’d do the same. Why not? 4/5 because of how it’s packaged up to be free to play even though they don’t hide how it’s aimed squarely at the biggest spenders.

The amount of pop ups during the time of loading the game are enough to make you want to shut it off and play something else, this game has nothing on empires and puzzles
Getting too expensive and less fun
Been playing for a while now, good fun but it gets to a stage that you spend a lot of money just to keep buying the same 3 star players. There should be sales for 4 and 5 stars players only. The amount of times you draw the lot on players and weapons and get irrelevant, already owned, low level characters/guns is just too much. Player experience/ enjoyment is depreciating. Every players patience (and money) runs thin. After all, this is primarily a GAME , not gambling!

Developers: You HAVE to make the tutorial optional
I’ve been playing E&P for 5 years. That’s why I downloaded this game. But because the tutorial absolutely WILL NOT END, this game is too rage-inducing for me to handle. I fully understand why it’s necessary for beginners but I’ve just spent the past ten minutes trying to play the game only to get interrupted every time I tap the screen. It’s endless. And there’s no way to skip it. If that changes, I’ll happily change my review but right now, all this game does is make me want to scream.
