Having fun
You just have the gems on the board but if you’re into that it can kill some time
No customer service
I was locked out of the app and I had to delete and redownload but my hero was deleted due to some code error but all of my achievements are still unlocked but I lost everything and now I have to start from scratch, y’all suck
PUZZLE quest
Feels like the first game with some nice upgrades
Ridiculous load times
Even with all assets loaded, it takes over 3 minutes on fast wifi and an iphone 14 pro to get to the main screen. There’s a ridiculous amount of bloat in this game; they’ve sacrificed quality for flair
It’s fine. Miss the older games
I played a lot of PQ2 back in the day, and recently felt nostalgic for it. Come to find out it’s no longer available for download, even in my store page. Found this instead. Tried it. It’s alright. Kinda pushing a lot of what I dislike about modern mobile gaming, but it’s serviceable. It’s a match 3 puzzle game with a combat mechanic; nothing new there. The 3d animations are a little distracting, but otherwise feels like a continuation of a great puzzle series. It’s up to personal preference if it’s a good continuation, though.
Puzzle quest 2
I like puzzle quest 3, it’s a good game. However, puzzle quest 2 will always be the best!! Please bring 2 back!!!!
Can not chose gender & class seperately
I’m a female and I choose to play as a female; however, it is a HUGE turnoff to not be able to chose my gender separate from race & class. Plus I hate that trying to find out the answer to my question was a huge waste of time. So, I’m probably deleting this one out of the gate.
Cool game
It’s a fun game. I like it.
Bring back Puzzle Quest!!
For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE bring back the original Puzzle Quest to the App Store. I’ll even pay a one time fee of $5.00 because nobody likes subscription games. PQ2 was not fun because it overcomplicated the game. PQ3 continues in PQ2’s footsteps. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Go back to your roots. 🙏🏻
Not bad but not puzzle quest
Can’t seem to see the puzzle quest remastered version on iOS, wondering why not? The developers for this game should take a step back and play the original and understand why it was the hit that it was, as much as I like freemium gaming there really is no excuse…
One of my favorite games
It crashes a bit more than I'd like at times, but it's a blast to play. One thought about the UI layout on a tablet. If the AP counters were moved to the upper corners and the puzzle grid moved you the players would be able to see a lot more of the combat animation. One way the other, it's far deserving of 5 stars.
Puzzle quest 3
Unfortunately this awesome gams is not playable due to freezing, and jerky movements. Can not complete even one level without having to restart 4-5 times. Disappointed because have been playing original puzzle quest for years. Will not be able to say that for this disaster.
Fun game, but possible issues
Gameplay is fun if you like puzzle adventures. A little repetitive, but that’s to be expected with these type of games. However, what you would expect to be such a simple game, it completely drains my battery life on my phone and makes it really warm. I have even turned the graphics in game down to lowest settings, with little change. At first I thought it was my old phone, but I just upgraded to the 16 Pro, and same issue. The game is great, but these issues may be a deal breaker for me.
Fun but takes too much battery
Im on an iphone 16 pro and this game runs way too hot and drains battery insanely fast. Too bad since it is pretty fun.
Great Game but…
This is a great, fun game, but it is extremely slow, sometimes to the point if freezing and drains the batter so quickly.
Really cool and fun
This. Game is awesome lol
It’s like a lessor version of Puzzle Quest 1 and 2
Honestly it feels really disappointing to me, as a fan of the original games. I really don’t like the tiny play board, the fact in one single turn you are moving several tiles on the tiny board and that how both of those design choices mean you’re never really making moves against your opponent or employing strategy. This feels dumbed down and mindless.
My 2 cents
I've been playing this game for over a year now and I made it through the dev change a while back. Nothing was lost - the gear values changed (like when Warcraft did the gear crunch) and as far as I can tell it has changed back to what it was. I have made steady progress as a free to play player and while I would love to progress faster, the system feels fair to me. I finally spent 20 this last season cycle as a thank you. I'm not paying to win either. I find this game fun because my free time is scarce and I can play this casually and enjoy it. The previous seasons and grinding is not a grating experience. I love the monster and character designs and the art style overall. The UI changes for the better and for the worse depending on what the devs are trying to do and I don't fault them for that. I am very happy to have this game avaiilable. Kills my iPhone battery though - fast. So I play on the PS5.
Overheating issues
Grabbed this game because I was looking for a puzzle game with a bit of plot that doesn’t collect ridiculous amounts of data. This game fits the bill and is fun - I could see myself getting deeply invested - but for one serious flaw. The game overheats my phone within minutes of opening it, even if I’m not playing a level. Battery goes from full to nothing insanely fast. The devs are apparently aware of the issue; the community forums have been talking about the problem since Jul ‘23 and it’s listed as a known issue on the support site. But there’s no indicator that it is being worked on (and it is now Feb ‘24). I’ll check back in with subsequent updates but this game is not fun enough to kill my phone over.
Really Fun game, huge battery drain
The game is really fun and I enjoyed the gameplay. The biggest thing that made me stop is my phone battery would die very quickly and would get very hot. I lowered all the settings and this still occurred. Wish they could fix this cause would love to pick the game up again.
Great game
Great game, you don’t have to spend money
Fun game but wrecks battery
This game was fun but I had to delete it because it would drain my battery on my iPhone 12 and, later, brand new iPhone 15 in the span of like two hours of play. Despite reducing all settings to lowest possible performance/resolution. Did a little research. Turns out fans have been complaining for over 18 months with no meaningful response from developer.
Fun
Great fun but keep crashing and freezing.
Nah. Boring
The original Puzzle Quest games were awesome. This feels like a cheap knockoff.
Battery Draining Game
The game was fun until I noticed the battery being drained quickly and my phone was heating up really bad. I even got a notification while trying to charge and play this game stating it would not charge until the phone resumed to, “normal temperatures.” I cannot deny that I enjoy this Modern micro-transaction approach to the sequel of my beloved Puzzle Quest 2, however, the power drainage is insane. The game is fun without a doubt, I just don’t like the overheating.
Fun fun fun
Addictive and fun thank you.
Good but freezes constantly
This game would be amazing if it weren’t for a few issues. The biggest is it freezes ALL. THE. TIME. Which is annoying on its own, but the turn timer will keep ticking down while it’s frozen so you can’t do what you planned for the turn. If they just fixed that alone, I’d probably give them 4 stars. There are also issues with it crashing, though it does seem to be less frequent with recent releases. They have frequent server issues too, but they seem to be aware of that. It’s weird that you stop leveling at level 50… I don’t understand that. Also, I’m fine with a pay to play model but the prices they set to get things to advance & improve your character aren’t reasonable for what you get. Way too high for what’s offered.
楽しいが、充電の減りは早い
ディスプレイ設定を最低品質にし、FPSも30に落としてますが、それでも結構減ります。 せっかくパズルゲームなのだから、もう少し気軽に遊べるように改善してくれるといいですね。
The original PQ was better
I’m a big fan of the original puzzle quest game. It had more of the role play elements. In the original game The original story had a lot more quests to it. It also had some side quests that played into the original story. There were more worlds to explore and play. I finished the main story already so it doesn’t really make me want to play anymore because there aren’t any more levels it’s just side quests to level up a character that is already leveled up past 50. The side quests don’t really add anything else to the game and it doesn’t seem to give you the option to play the game again with a higher difficulty than you already have done. Once you’ve finished the 15 chapters of the main story it’s basically done.
Unchill
It's no longer chill because you have to make as many matches as fast you can. Gems of war is vastly superior
Best Puzzle Games
I like the prequel of Puzzle Quest Remake is better.
A bug filled, haphazard game with no redeeming qualities
The Dev’s hook you, then get you to expend a lot of time and energy to gather your strengths and playing style, the “upgrade” the game without warning and leave you with worthless gear. Previously, before the spell book change, you could pick and choose what set of spells you wanted to work on, and upgrade those spells first. Gone with the update. Now you upgrade a “Book” at 1000x the previous cost and can only gather the required upgrade pieces randomly. Very randomly. Then along comes the gear “update”. No longer can you choose a specific piece to upgrade. It is all random. This game has turned itself into a roulette wheel. You can spin it, but you have no control over the outcome. Finally, you hard time and money turned gear got wiped out as the Dev’s, without warning but the again they care not for you, the quality of the gear gets re-done and you lose your entire playing power. Sending in support tickets just elicited a Dev’s ire, and responses that are uncaring. Just spare yourself, send them your money and do not play the game. That outcome will happen whether you play or not.
Great game, engaging story and easy system
My only problem with the game is that it makes my iPhone 14 overheat after about 10 minutes of playtime. But those 10 minutes are a lot of fun!
App barely opens
The app never wants to open for me, but when it does after numerous attempts, it is a fun game to play
Fun game but major issues
The battery drains like crazy and heats my phone up in under 5 minutes. Also, the free to play side is insanely expensive. I have no problem with some IAP, but the amount of money being asked for any upgrades is utterly insane. $13.99 a month for VIP? Come on now… Update: the latest version cut the frame rate in half. It’s super choppy now.
It’s fun!
As you may have read in other reviews, the game does crash sometimes but it constantly auto-saves and reloads quickly. The core game mechanics and progress pace feel very good. I’ve been playing for free for about a week now and I have no intention of stopping.
A big money pit.
All of a sudden all the previous poor reviews are gone, leaving you to think this is the best RPG game out there. This game is completely changed. Those who started playing over 6 months ago have lost all their progress, and builds, and works, only to be replaced with a system that wants your hard earned dollars to get back to where you were before the big updates. Progress is not a bad thing, but changing the entire system, without warning, and having you lose the builds your spent a lot of time and money to achieve, just is not fair. Then again, fair was not in consideration when the Developers changed the system at your loss. The play is mundane. The same theme rotates around again and again. Grinding to gain better equipment becomes monotenous and boring. Then all kinds of special offers occur, all of which cost money, for you to improve your stats. Strange how that coincides with your suddenly needing the very thing to improve, suddenly appears with its pricey cost. Spare yourself, keep your hard earned cash and look at current reviews, not the few posted by individuals that write glowing reviews for reasons that may not be in your best interest, but in theirs.
Nice Game, Eats Battery
I’ve enjoyed Puzzle Quest since I played the first one on my DS. This one is still fun, but it absolutely melts my iPhone 14 Pro. It heats up massively and starts dimming the screen after anout five minutes. This is even if I stay in the menus and set all the settings to the lowest detail levels. I can’t understand what it could be doing to hammer the phone so much, but it limits play time severely.
Aggressively pay-to-win
Lots of cool mechanics. It’s a shame it’s a pay-to-win game.
Very fun, but a pretty big divide between free to play and spending
(Review written about 1 week into playing a couple hours a day) First, the game itself is classic Puzzle Quest stuff - good gameplay loop, lots to upgrade and tinker with. The story, while nothing awe-inspiring, is actually enjoyable as it’s presented. It looks fine, sounds good, and runs well, even on my older iPad Air 2. It does drain battery life pretty significantly, but that’s kind of par for the course for most mobile games. Unfortunately, it gets to be VERY slow to progress through the game without spending money. I’ve tried to keep on top of upgrading whatever I can, but I’m finding that I need to grind out a lot of upgrade materials just to beat story quests. This would be fine, except the chests that you get materials from need keys to open, and if you don’t have keys, they take set amounts of time, depending on chest rarity, to open, up to 24 hours for the rarest. Extra keys cost resources, which cost real world money, etc etc. Don’t get me wrong - I’m fine with a bit of pay for convenience in freemium games like this. Developers need to make money somehow. It just feels like the formula is a bit too slanted towards pushing the player to pay right now. Try the game out, see if you like it, but hopefully it receives some tweaks to at least make story progression not so daunting.
Finally, a “good game”
Really good. Relaxing and chill and fun. I absolutely love the fantasy d&d theme and elements. I’m too impatient to read the story dialogues and skip through them. But the actual mechanic of the necromancer is nice. I never write app reviews, so congrats!
the iPhone get very very hot, please repair the issue
the iPhone 13 Promax get very very hot in just one minute, please repair the issue
Good game… but it drains battery
My phone overheats and dies qui kly when playing. I’d normally delete the game, but it’s well done and fun to play! Please fix it!
Not optimized, major battery drain, not ESG friendly
Pros: *Different classes with unique spells for each class. *Fun to play with gears for max/min . *Kingdom system to help with obtaining equipments. *Good time waster. Cons: *Lots of grinding but cannot do so on the go due to battery drain! *Long wait time to open chests unless pay for keys *VIP system, we all know how this goes for freemium *Battery drains extremely fast (iPad pro 12.9 & 13 pro max) *Not optimized, device heats up (iPad pro 12.9 & 13 pro max)
Puzzle Quest
Fun enough to not get redundant quickly.
Not the same
It’s nothing like it used to be. You expect a game like “Gems of War” but with the OG mechanics and map travel. This is an embarrassment p2w version of the once beloved franchise. Devs are greedy and evil. Avoid this game like plague.
Fun but…
This game is very fun but it drains my battery like crazy and I’ve got a 13 pro max
超耗電
是不錯玩,但缺點大,沒中文,再來是手機超燙,超耗電
Nice graphics but too obvious a cash grab
Puzzle quest games were always great because of their simplicity. This one has the usual plethora of menus and click boxes that game makers think will make great revenue streams. However, they'd have been better off keeping it simple and just charging a fiver for the full game. As usual, you know there will come a point where it will ask you for cash and you just get distracted and ultimately bored. Nice graphics though, runs fine on ipad pro 2021.
