This is the biggest time killer on my phone. Played it for years!
Almost unbearable
Game does virtually nothing to explain rules, abilities or combat. Worse than that it won’t even boot half the time for an “update” that isn’t available for download. I don’t recommend this title at all. Update: took three days to fix and deleted all progress. Never playing any mtg game again, ruined the entire thing for me. Thx

I really enjoy this game. Fun and very good time killer. Playing the card game really brings this game into a mindblow thought of building real decks. Just wish it would update more of the most recent released cards. But love what you have been doing with this game!!!

Help need technical support app won’t load correctly
I’ve had this app for 5 years spent at least 50$ on it now the new current update as of may 27 keeps making me cycle through an update then back to the game app but won’t load after I do each update it just cycles back in fourth
Great Game, Newest Update Not Working
The update released on 5/26/26 will not install properly on my phone. Loading the app up I’m told there is an update available, but after downloading it the app still tells me there’s an update available and the app store simply says Open. Whenever I turn my phone off and back on, the app store once again tells me Install but the app still does not start up. Damn shame, this game is great and I’m hooked on it. Tried reporting the problem and got nowhere, so now I’m leaving it in the review and hopefully that gets the developer’s attention.

We’ll the required maintenance after update 3.5 has finished, now I can’t logon with Facebook account. I can’t report the problem to customer service because, after many tries, the security field on the submission form doesn’t match. Just another fine example of their competency.
Not a Good Hybrid
I like Magic the Gathering, and I like puzzles. After an hour of playing this hybrid, I don’t like its magic nor its puzzle. It’s a confusing pile of good ideas that don’t work together. I’m not OK with this pizza egg roll milkshake with radish sprinkles.

Unplayable
Just downloaded the game on iOS, but it’s literally unplayable. The app goes into a perpetual “update” loop so you can’t even get in. Terrible.

Could be good
I really want to like this game, I like the gameplay but everything else around it sorta stinks. The UI is confusing, the game layout makes no sense (why is there not an automatic PvE or PvP quick match option? why is it a separate event? why are the stories the only viable way to progress?), and the game doesn’t match you to other players based on your level, but on amount of wins. I’m stuck in a cycle of trying to play games to level up, but I can’t win because I’m always put against way over leveled players, and then I can’t win so I can’t level up. There is no way to just opt to play PvE matches either, so I just feel stuck and underleveled with nothing I can do about it. This game has potential but it feels like it needs an entire overhaul.
Unable to open - stuck in an update loop
Game just goes to an update screen when opened, links to App Store to download update. Update does nothing. Been 2 days for me, but apparently some people have waited weeks. Why am I paying $30 for this?
Facebook login issues
Great game other than the fact it has issues with logging in with Facebook from time to time. I’ve been locked out for days at a time on multiple occasions because the Facebook handshake login has bugs. They should offer a standard log in using an email and password like other games. Majorly frustrating and disappointing.
Great game for paper Magic lovers!
I’ve been a paper Magic players for nearly 30 years and a Puzzle Quest player for nearly 20. When I found out there was a game made by both - of course I had to try it! And I’ve found that it’s nice to have a fun little game that is both Magic and not-Magic.
Players not taking damage and casting same card repeatedly
Been playing this game for a long time. I have been encountering opposing players that take no damage. The opposing player’s life counter doesn’t change nor does it reflect any damage at all. These same players are also able to pull same two or three cards repeatedly. Usually cards that cause extensive damage. I have no problem with an opposing player having a good game and their deck is better than myself. What I have an issue with is an opposing player that doesn’t take damage and there is no buff or card or spell in play for them to not take damage repeatedly.
Dislike the new Story Mode
I adore this game but had to put it to the side for a while to focus on life stuff. When i finally finished (around december), i was disappointed to find that the old story mode was removed for a weekly story mode. I could understand why this might've been added for newer players but removing the old story mode seemed unnecessary and this version seems like a downgrade. Still like the game, of course! Just wish the old story mode system would come back

Really good game for those who want to feel powerful. However, the game sometimes freezes and leaves you no other option than to surrender. It doesn't occur often, but enough times to rob you from 1st place on half of the competitive events.
Won’t even load after the last update
Enjoyed the game up until the last update. Once it was finished downloading the game hasn’t worked since.
RNG is dead…
I thoroughly enjoyed playing early on. After a couple weeks i noticed that every game, from beginning to end, I literally draw the same two cards. At first i thought it was a bug. But it kept happening consistently and became even more egregious against Event Bots. I hate the idea of predetermined outcomes disguised as “Random”. 3 stars because this is still one of the few mobile games i enjoy. Even though the system/bugs handicap me ‘every’ battle.
Cannot update
Been playing for years on iPhone. App asked me to update repeatedly and game won’t load in now. This just started happening today. Who is fixed?

So this is the worst money grab game I've ever seen. The option to help make it free is watching a video ad for free items. Guess what? That never works leaving with the option to spend money or not enjoy what could be a fun game.

Fun implementation with two major problems. 1 - runs slow on my older phone, and crashes constantly. Like, after every match and occasionally during. It’s still more or less playable and I still play it, but probably won’t keep doing so for long. 2 - the menus are mostly huge, eye-bleeding microtransaction ads. They make me feel gross. Tacky stuff.
Could easily increase rewards
Given how many studios they roped in to improve card design, it would be nice if more than 1% one percent of all card were playable. Unless you also have one of their elite-designed mythical cards, your cards prolly aren’t worth playing/wont hold up to that block of text
Great game but could be better!
I love MTG but there needs to be an auto save feature. Too many freezes during events and that eliminates the possibility of a perfect score. Or if you receive a phone call during a match, and you’re away from the game for a few minutes, you lose all progress and the game. That’s not right and needs to be addressed.
Cheating Game
I played numerous matches where some hidden effect takes place against me, no cards are on the board or have been played that turn yet still a negative effect takes place. Such blatant cheating don’t waste your time. Trash!
Pretty awesome.
I have been playing this game off and on for just over a year. Never had to spend a penny and you get a great variety of cards. There is always the option to buy the odd pack, but the game doesn’t feel like you must in order to progress. A few cards bug from time to time and I have had the app crash a bunch. But, the gameplay and variety of the game keeps me coming back for more. If you love creating strategies and exploring the multitude of play styles, this game gives that to you in abundance. Smartly designed and very challenging. This is game for people who love to test their intellect.
Worse drop rates for cards in packs then real life!
How is it I buy a pack in real life I get 15 cards and at least 1 is guaranteed rare with a few uncommon. I buy 3 packs here (15 cards worth) and there alllllllll common every one! There are other match 3 games, play one of them, at least there cash grabs are a little less obvious!

Your cards can become PERMANENTLY unusable causing a soft lock for the player. There is a card in an event that cannot be destroyed by ANY means and also soft locks you. Also I have been “beaten” by an opponent WITH NO CARDS IN PLAY. Ridiculous. DO NOT SPEND ANYTHING ON THIS

This game has become terrible. The devs and community manager don’t listen to the community and their communication skills and pathetic, like their coding skills. DO NOT SPEND MONEY! After you buy cards or grind for what you want, they just end up changing the cards and claim it’s in the name of balance. It’s not because they have zero idea what they’re doing. Read the forums about the recent balance changes and you’ll see the community is not in a good place. Webcore is running their game into the ground.

Incredibly hostile design
The game’s initial promise is frequently spoiled by design choices I can only describe as ‘player-resentful’. The game begins to feel like it hates you for playing it. For instance, despite being a game about playing cards will do everything it can to keep you from playing cards. The AI controls your card draw and the board state, so it often feels extremely unfair when you struggle to cast one card while it reaps bonus rounds every turn - like you’re not just having to fight the opponent but the gems too. Members of my guild frequently complain in chat that cards in our deck just DONT show up in matches, like never drawing creature cards even though your deck is 4/10 creatures. These matches just feel like ‘designated losses’, which would be okay (well, less bad) if you had more chances to play certain events or if you had more than three health potions to recover from a loss. As it stands, it just feels dirty. This is aside from the pay-to-win aspects that will make a huge part of the game difficult for new players to access. A new premium currency introduced in the last year has made the problem even worse because it’s ON TOP of a previously existing premium currency. Booster crafting has made things a little better, though I think either crafting costs need to go down or duplicate conversion needs to be higher. Either way, at higher levels you either need to be buying premium currency or not bothering with Events, which is the largest chunk of the game and focuses on PvP. These new crystals are the only way without direct cash payment to get masterpiece cards, and even then frequent card duplication in ALL card packs - including these highest rarity packs you have to pay premium currency for - means you’re often buying a duplicate rare instead of a hoped-for mythic or masterpiece.
Great game but…
This is a great game but it has gone through some changes since the new company took over that have made it more of a money grab. 1- they have increased the amount of pay to play actions that weren’t present before. For example some of the planeswalker prebuilt decks need exclusive cards now that you can no longer collect, you need to buy. 2- they have changed the monthly/daily log in bonus from a prize a day to now only 21 prizes. This does a few things, first I now only have to log on 21 days a month and I will play less and 2 reduces the amount of free bonuses people get again forcing them to pay more $$$ to maintain being competitive. It’s just makes me annoyed some of the changes, none of them good.

Since yesterday i can’t log in with my facebook account. All my progress lost. Struggle to find a solution so far.
Love the game, but…
There is no report function for players who manipulate the game software to engineer wins or force their opponents to quit. Playing events is one of the best ways to earn booster packs and mana to level your planeswalkers, but I’ve run across players in these events (where you only get a handful of tries to even win matches) who will sense they are about to lose, and sit idle until the other player quits. There it no time limit on making a move apparently, so if they wait long enough the other player is bound to quit and lose a life for that event. I wouldn’t be as vocal about this were it not for the lack of any sort of reporting system or some form of reprimand for players who cheat. It’s a fantastic game otherwise, just no efforts by Wizards to mitigate cheating/exploits whatsoever.

Wonderful but slow loading...
I am, admittedly, hooked on the game. It’s a brilliant idea for those of us ol’ MTG players that need a quick fix. Have to say, though, it feels like your server(s) are running on an old Dell desktop you got hooked up in the back room....

But after completing the tutorial I couldn’t do anything, after installing and reinstalling the game. I wasn’t able to claim the free booster pack it says I got. It just sends me to the screen with a blue outline that says CLAIM YOUR BOOSTER PACK and I can’t. Hopefully this gets fixed but for now this game only gets 2* from me
Slows
I really want to enjoy this app, but it is glitchy. Kept freezing when trying to cast certain cards. And now in the event “plague control” it gets so slow I don’t even want to play the game.
