Seeing a pattern
So, since they have updated this game i lost all of my progress and purchases. Im starting to see this pattern across a lot of apps lately. Where a game updates but dumps all your progress and purchase history so you cant restore it. This is robbery amd should have consequences.
Unexpected polish in a standard idle RPG
I typically chew through mobile games in a week and delete them, but I've stuck with Darkest for a bit now. I gave this game a shot because I like the unique art style and on that count they deliver. Original art (not AI generated) looks great and is regularly updated with new assets. It plays like your typical idle RPG: play the gacha to get your heroes, then get shards to tier them, then use various other currencies to level them and level their equipment. Basic stuff. Where Darkest shows its quality is in many different game modes and Rogue-like elements. For example, in the core campaign you will progress in the same way as any other idle RPG, except for the random encounters with things like traps and treasure chests, requiring a bit of choice on your part. This mechanic is expanded upon in the labyrinth mode, which offers a great deal of choice and problem solving as you progress and acquire temporary upgrades. A rotation of mini games also keeps things fresh, varying from a 'match 3' type game to a reflex based dodging game and so on. So at its core, Darksest AFK is just another idle RPG. You will get frustrated when your progress slows due to resource scarcity and bad pulls. However, the different modes mean there is always something to do and always lots of great art assets to enjoy. Offline play is another great feature that I love. No forced ads, regular updates and community posts, and a polished UI set this above other toilet games.
Lots of BUGS
This has always been one of my favorite games to play but the BUGS frustrate the experience! Some examples of BUGS that I ran into is chapter 4 frozen at 20% loading to start the new chapter and then the little mini game option will get stuck at 33% when selecting mini games! My most recent BUG is loading a linked account and it’s currently stuck at 61% once I try to load my linked account, if I lose my account completely this completely steer me away from this game! I HOPE THIS GETS FIXED!!

I missed it too much
I will admit that this game is one of the better idle games on the App Store due to the offline resource gain actually helping you progress. There is a high emphasis on hero and spell strategy. It feels daunting at first with the random hazards mixed in, but it never feels unfair. Getting heroes is relatively easy and merging duplicates gives a significant power boost to the hero. The best part is the Darkest Dungeon vibe they’ve got here. Graphics, the main and individual hero story, and the difficulty show that the devs have the right idea in mind. I’m glad I came back and fully recommend it.
Warning game restore
Bad customer support to barely no support. Played game for a year somehow it glitched and would not play so I reinstalled and lost all date and all game items I purchased $$$ gone and apple would not even refund me. Beware of this game I give it 1* and less if I could. Will never download another game with these people. Now 0 customer support and they leave you high and dry because they already took your money. Do Not Play it’s not worth it even as you level up you need $$$$ to beat NPC and other players.
Good deal
I had DD on Steam years ago but after moving a few times I lost/forgot my account login there. This is a solid substitute for those who cannot buy the original. The only downside is that the interface is rather invasive and keeps pulling you aside from the actual game.

После первого обновления у меня слетел прогресс, и восстанавливать его не собирались, и не собирались компенсировать даже. 2. Сейчас тоже столкнулся с проблемой, в моментах не хочет загружать файлы (при включенном интернете, wi-fi, и даже с использованием впн). Ну и 3. Игнорируют и не собираются помогать

After playing similar titles, and seeking for a time killer while I lay in bed at night looking through the App Store, I found Darkest AFK. After searching for a hit game of a similar title, I came upon this harmless "art copy" variation or twist to Darkest Dungeon. At first you're doing tutorials, and running the storyline, unlocking new nodes, quests, dailies, weeklies, dungeon modes, towers, and mini games. Suddenly though, it all comes to a screeching halt. I'm stuck in the story mode because I'm vastly under leveled, and the only way I can progress my characters is through what is essentially "loot box" mechanics. This mechanic I'm speaking to relies on my buying of gems, to then hope I obtain a copy of the character I use to merge. Mind you, there are dozens of characters. I'd gladly support the game more if it weren't so restrictive with progress. How is a player supposed to stay engaged? I'm supposed to sit the game aside for 24-48 hour periods and hope the daily login rewards will boost my progress? It's nonsense, based solely around investor profits. Which have ravaged the mobile gaming industry, this title is marred by it's desire to pull money out of your wallet, in hopes of pushing you character to the next place, only to do it again, and again.
More than I even expected!
I bought this game just as something to do on my flight but I found myself playing whenever I had some free time on the remainder of my trip! Like I said: More than I expected!!
Instant Delete
The game tried to make me pay for a subscription right off the bat, even with the « free » trial turned off. I never got to see any gameplay. That’s just not good business.

Uninspired mobile game slop. Icons everywhere with red dots, daily reward track, daily login, weekly login, monthly login, 2 battle passes, VIP system, etc all trying to mask the fact that this is less than a skeleton of a game
I love this game but
Im having a very hard time going through the chapters. Im using the best characters and equipment I have, but its hard to level my equipment/characters. Getting copies of characters is kinda tough but thats expected. Some struggle is good keeps me coming back, but too much struggle makes it frustrating to play. I love the game the art everything about it (waiting for Grut to be released) because he’s a MUSHROOM. It could just be me struggling but idk. Anyways I love your game and thank you for your guys creativity.
A Horrible System
This is an Amazing Game With a Bunch of Features To Keep You Playing But it’s Extremely P2W And Eventually You Get Softlocked Unable To Advance Forward Unless you pay an exorbitant price for minimal progress and it becomes an endless cycle. But you could Exploit The Daily Rewards in the Inbox and Gift Codes To Push Forward but when you start stagnating again the cycle repeats. Although it’s an amazing concept and okay storyline at the start it’s ruined by a horrible p2w system that eventually leads to some of the most devoted players to quit.

I put money into this game, but don’t know if I’ll do anymore with how many ads it starts pushing. I don’t mind micro transactions, but don’t hold rewards behind watching ads please.

Made for people that want to waste money and not have fun.
Let me start by saying that I have spent quite a bit of money and time on this game. Obviously, there is fun to be had while playing it. I love the Darkest Dungeon aesthetic. I enjoy some of the gameplay. However, this game is the definition of pay to win. If you don’t pay, you will be stuck. Not just until tomorrow. At higher levels, you may be waiting a week or two to naturally get the necessary currency to level up. After that, you may go through a few stages, then you are waiting for weeks. And that is assuming that you still login and do your dailies in the meantime. I honestly have spent money out of frustration. And after spending money, you will still get stuck. There is an event going right now as I write this that you will not get through without spending money. I wish I had never started playing this game. I’m only still playing it because I feel like I have to after spending money. Unless you have an endless amount of money that you can burn for very small and infrequent dopamine hits, don’t even try it. It’s a shame how predatory this game is. Imagine burning dollar bills every day for a very small chance of winning 1 side of an Oreo. Then you do this over and over until you finally have 1 full Oreo. You could have spent the money on 50 boxes of Oreos. And yeah, it’s satisfying for 30 seconds, but why could you have gotten a full box for that money? That is exactly how this game is. You are paying money for the chance to possibly be able to do 1 tiny thing. And really, you need 10 other things to actually get what you need to make some progress. I honestly think that there were good developers that built this game. But the people in charge got the research done for how to get as much money out of the user and forced them to implement it. Then they them dial it up a few notches to get a little more. Even if you put the money part aside, the content is repetitive and the only new content is essentially blocked behind a paywall. The dailies aren’t bad at first but quickly become boring. I don’t feel like I’ve had to increase my skill level since I started. The battles basically come down to are you leveled up high enough or not? And you don’t level up with experience or skill. You are just waiting a couple weeks to obtain enough resources to level up one character. And God forbid you level up a bad character or focus your resources on something that isn’t worth getting (which you won’t really know what the meta is anyway). Kiss possibly months of time goodbye. Because you won’t get them back. And with the item you use to level up, for example. You can either naturally get them and get 1000 or something from dailies and quests and stuff. Or you can buy a pack with 500 of them for $19.99. Keep in mind you will need 10k plus of them to level your character up. This item allows you to level up 25 more levels (assuming you have millions in other resources to do so). In conclusion, stay away from this game. These people will only learn to stop making these money pit games if you stop playing them. If you want a game with even better graphics and phenomenal gameplay that you only pay for once and will own forever (and with the same aesthetic). Buy Darkest Dungeon instead. Or save the money you would have spent playing this and build a PC. Or just burn your money. All of these options would go to better use. Developers, use your skill to build a great game. Stop working for these awful companies. Stop this seemingly infinite era of predatory pay to win games. I am so tired of games doing this. This is exactly why I don’t play mobile games. It’s the only way a significant portion of the population have access to gaming. And you have turned it into the equivalent of the claw machine that was designed to not have enough grabbing power to win an item.
My first ever review hand in the Bible
(Don’t mind grammar) I have invested large amounts of time & money into this game. I have to say this is a great game with a lot of potential I just think the game need a bit more content overall. It can get repetitive and your daily tasks do seem to get boring after a few weeks. I feel as though certain characters need to change or be reworked like Wukong live the character but he just dies way to quickly in high level content even with upgraded legendary armor and evasion buffs. Overall great game just wish there was more to do.

Boring p2w
Like all these games you start out fast and demolish stuff for awhile but you’ll quickly hit paywalls. After a few days there’s nothing left to do except maybe ten minutes of dailies while you pray for an upgrade so you can beat a handful of levels before you’re stuck again. Everything comes to a screeching halt. I really like the mini games but unless you have monthly membership you can barely play them like every twelve hours. The memberships also just aren’t worth it. They give measly rewards. I like the art style and building different teams but there’s just not much to actually DO unless you’re dumping money into it.

This is not a game
If you are doing this to burn time there are more enjoyable ways, sitting and managing dozens of properties isn’t what should make a game a game. No activation of brain cells just another hyper focused use of time management to waste your life on. A common trait among mobile games. Waste of time even writing this review because I know it will just be piled on top of by bot reviews to even out the score to remain above 4.5. Maybe someone will see and learn though.

Поднял героев с 53 на 70+ лвл и в призыве Эша выпали хорошие предметы и герой, но все откатило, будто сегодня я вообще не заходил. Играл с дома, с сетью проблем не было. Тема странная, задумываюсь о дропе игры
Great game with strong potential a roguelike mode would elevate it
Darkest AFK has a great art style and a solid idle gameplay loop. I enjoy the progression system, but I believe the game could reach a whole new level of depth with the addition of a separate roguelike mode. Something inspired by Darkest Dungeon 2 could work extremely well: • Randomized dungeons and encounters • Branching routes or node-based paths on each run • Run-specific rewards and modifiers • Higher-risk options that offer better loot • Dynamic events that make every run feel different Adding this as an optional mode (without changing the main AFK structure) would greatly increase replayability and give players who want more strategy something to engage with long-term. Thanks for the hard work — I hope you consider this direction for future updates!
Lost all progress
No way to get my progress back apparently after redownloading the game. No way I’m starting over…I have the real darkest dungeon if I’m gonna waste my time…

Firstly love the way the game is set up and love the ideas but You soon hit a wall and without spending it will take a seriously long time to get your characters to higher levels and colours Secondly why can’t I use my name without having to link to Facebook especially when you can use apple or game centre so this really frustrates me Also the daily reward should be given and available from a set time each day not reset from when you collect it It is unfair to penalise people that cannot log on at the same time every day These things are frustrating which is a shame as I actually enjoy the game

A great fun game with amazing styling. I did unfortunately hit a point where progressing was a massive grind/waiting game without paying a lot more then I was willing to pay. I don’t mind paying for games but £5 a month is my limit on these types of games. It is a shame as I was really enjoying it up until that point.
Annoyingly designed
Just another „game“ which tries to get as much money as possible out of people with a gambling problem. The art style is nice though.
A good idle game, but wrong inspiration
First off, I have little experience with these idle play games. With that in mind, I do feel this game has a lot of content. Two battle passes, sending characters on missions, what is essentially a boss rush mode, an AI PVP mode, lots of areas and a lengthy-ish story. There’s a lot to do for what is advertised as an idle game, and that’s good. The negative is that some of the best stuff is the obvious Darkest Dungeon inspiration. Traits (though I’ve yet to get a negative one) and especially encounters in missions. Similar to DD, your heroes can come across corpses, traps or treasures, albeit too rarely in my opinion, and you can take a chance or use an item to pass these encounters. Failing the chance debuffs your heroes and makes the fights harder. This is a good thing to take from Darkest Dungeon, but aside from the weaker art style, I’d essentially the only thing they’ve taken from that game. Traits are dumbed down to extra evasion, or something you won’t pay attention to. My biggest criticism is the battle passes, it’s cool for games to have them regularly, but the prices for the premium passes in this game seem to up into the £20’s, and from what I can tell, would only give you enough for 1-3 characters. There’s no incentive to buy the battle passes. Ultimately play it for a day or two for free and see if it’s for you; I find myself coming back to it more than I thought. If the developers somehow see this, I really think taking more elements from Darkest Dungeon would benefit the game, as the few inspirations you have taken are the strongest parts of the game.

I think it’s the only game I’ve seen where the devs give you resources, and a good amount too, just for liking the game, not even rating it. That says player appreciation to me
Lost Data
Played about two hours of the game, logged back in and my game has reset. All my progress lost ! Luckily I didn’t spend any money ! Seems like a fairly substantial bug.
Nice and dark
If you liked Darkest Dungeon then you will like this too. Similar aesthetics and similar game elements. So far I’m enjoying the grind.

A première vue, le jeu est sympa, ambiance et graphisme bien différent des concurrents, un seul serveur, pas de bouffon pour payer un fortune pour être numéro 1. D’un autre côté, il n’y a pas de classement, de multijoueur, l’arène est une farce, le marché aussi. Vous voulez améliorer vos persos, il faut recruter, 1800 gemmes pour avoir 12% de chance d’avoir un perso, autant de pas s’en servir, il y a 8% de chance d’en avoir un avec la séparation des mondes, et ça ne coûte que 1080 gemmes. Les gemmes, pour avoir des persos, des morceaux de sorts, la plupart des objets au marché, dont les torches quasi indispensable pour terminer le labyrinthe. Si vous voulez réellement réussir à avancer, il faudra soit être extrêmement patient, soit mettre la main au porte-feuille pour acheter des éclats de héros et / ou gemmes.
