What people like
- Feels like a classic old school RPG
- Developer clearly put a lot of effort in
- Puzzles are fair and challenging
- You can play without spending money
What they complain about
- Inventory is too small and forces purchases
- Game feels unfinished with no new updates
- Difficulty spikes make progress feel impossible
- No help system when you get stuck
Relaxing
I love this dungeon crawler. It’s actually relaxing for me. The graphics are done well and the game play is engaging. This is what I’ve been looking for. It’s a modern take on the old dungeon crawlers all the way back to Wizardry. Well done!
Another unfinished game
Great game, but sadly the developers didn’t finished it. It’s been three years since the last update with more content.
Fun game
I enjoyed this game a lot, but there was a sudden ramp up in difficulty under the town well that stopped me cold. I got ripped apart repeatedly and gave up.
Disappointed - Game Half Done
Just got rocking into the game and find out it’s not a completed story. Disappointing
Okay but not addictive
The movement controls are quirky, the battles slow but the story is fun. Play when you want a casual approach to dungeons.
Great Game
Love the game so far. Looks like it has been over a year since any new levels and 5 months since any updates. I hope it is still in development.
No storage
1st hour into playing the game and I’m out of storage and have already been dealing with it for the past 30 min. It almost forces you to buy more storage or keep dealing with the same issue. Other than that it was entertaining but can’t get passed that issue
Finishing a game improves its reviews
I really enjoyed the game…until it stopped. Adventures are listed I can’t complete and aside from a bug fix two months ago…there have been no changes for over a year. If you’re going to finish a game, finish it!
What could have been
This is the kind of game I look for. However I am not a spender of money So I go ad long as I can Which in this game was 3 days. Once you get to Whispering Halls . The game gets ridiculously Hard. There is not enough respawning to build your characters There are not resurrection potions And scrolls don’t seem to work during battle Overall a great disappointment
Good game, not finished
Good game but it’s not finished and probably never will be.
good effort got my money
fun so far
just started
so far it's a great dungeon crawl. i hope combat doesn't get too difficult. i prefer the story aspects to the fighting. update. while i enjoyed the dungeon searches, the game just ....stops. there is no where to go. you cannot complete your quests. i spent not one penny, thank goodness. i have downgraded from 5 to 1 star.
pretty good
I enjoy it, simplistic but a good rpg. What I don't like is that his other games use some AI art, and it kind of alienates me.
Do better
always lost, never know where to go, this game really need assistance in quest
Needs controller support
Love wizardry style games. This one has a lot of potential. Just wish it had controller support
It’s early yet
I’ve been playing rpgs since an acquaintance of mine developed one on a Radio Shack TRS 80. Of course Duskfall is light years ahead of that text-based game. While it’s early yet, I’m enjoying Duskfall. If given the opportunity, I’ll continue to comment as I gain more experience with it.
Nice..but!!!!!
So the game is cool if u like this play-style, I mean it really brings u back if you’re from that generation, HOWEVER IT IS VERY GLITCHY and the developer is unresponsive, so don’t spend a dime. I am am currently stuck behind the game in the “black zone” and I’ve reached out to the developer for days now and have gotten no response. So if u plan to play don’t touch a wall and don’t spend a dime, lower your hopes for completion, seek a game where things function and the developer speaks. Otherwise it’s just a cash grab for the foolish.
Seems to have been abandoned
I’d really like to give this 5 stars as a lot of work has been put into it and as it stands it’s a great game - up to a point. The problem is that the developer seems to have abandoned the project mid-game. There has been no new content for nearly a year and it remains incomplete. So by all means give it a go, just don’t expect a complete product as you’ll be disappointed.
Unreliable
We invest our time and money in Duskfall ( and Moonshades ) and wait forever for updates. The latest one for Duskfall being a case in point. It says the update is now available for iOS but it isn't and there's no explanation. We've been waiting over a year for Moonshades to be updated. Not fair and not good enough!
Fantastic game, except for lack of controls.
I wrote a glowing review before and I stand by that, the game is wonderful. The depth and surprises are all really nice and keep me wanting to play for hours on end. Unfortunately, it does not allow for any external controls such as keyboard, mouse, joystick, trackpad, or anything else. That kind of support is available in every other crawler game on iOS. I play this game on my iPad and would prefer to play it on my Vision Pro however without controls, it is almost impossible to navigate. The games author was kind enough to offer several suggestions, but none of them panned out for me. I don’t understand why every game has controls except this one. Even Wandroid which is basically wire frame allows keyboard controls. I believe it would be a very simple addition and I believe many users would utilize it.
Great!
Great and surprisingly well done from a single developer! I would recommend trying the game out if you like the classic rpg feel.
Potential, but no portrait mode
No portrait mode is a deal breaker for me
To the guys who made this game
U made a grate game here things that you are missing. Quality of life , more in game purchases options and more skill optimization thank you for making such a grate game bud
these are problems
I played for 3 hours. there is not enough space in the inventory. the game just fills you with "needs" empty bottles and different kind of restorative ingredients to rest, and it simply does not give enough backpack for later selling the very numerous weapons/armor. one has to pay 7€ to get enough runes to resolve this. And the game to me is not worth that much. i feel like playing the old game "Lara croft" pixel impossible but you must click there for the door to open. Too many complications in my opinion. would be 3, maaaaybe 4 stars without the backpack. but still, the game feels very slow
New Levels
Great Game but we need new levels. IT only took a couple of weeks to get through to an abrupt hard stop. When are you releasing new levels and updates?
Great RPG!
Excellent RPG. You can play without any ads or spending money, if you choose so. But I do suggest supporting the single person creator for doing such a great job. It does require more context, I hope the developer will continue his excellent work.
Slop.
Fix the aspect ratio so it fits on phones made in this decade. Garbage.
Great retro experience - which has pros and cons!
This is a great game with a real retro feel. All of the items and little processes make sense and are intuitive enough. Gameplay is good, with a real sense of discovery and a fear about what might be around the next corner. Where it loses a star for me (and where I’ve given up the game) is the sudden difficulty spike - after relatively straight forward fights I suddenly ran into an unavoidable enemy that wiped me out - combined with the high cost to recover - it’s just too much to resurrect and the prospect of having to start over was just too much. Well done though, good game
Really great but…
I was genuinely enjoying this game. It was an excellent homage to some of the games I loved way back when. I would have given the game 5 stars but half way through the game it comes to an end. The game is not complete and hasn’t been updated for a while. I feel like I wasted time and a little bit of money on something that is at best a beta.
One day in…
So far, so good. No complaints. I’m hoping that it’s a long game.
Was
Enjoying it but I hate getting stuck. It’s the opposite of fun
Inventory Paywall Sadness
Love games like this and was very excited to try this one out. Started out quite enjoying the questing and character progression, as well as the large amount of items available. It is clear that the developer put a tremendous amount of time and effort into creating this masterpiece. Then came the inventory paywall, the downside of having so many items not only available, but required to progress and upgrade vs. the very limited amount of inventory space. It got to a point that after completing a single dungeon encounter, would have to either drop items and waste them, or go back to a vendor to get rid of the items, by selling or converting. It was very obvious that the paywall was put in place to encourage in game purchases. Don’t get me wrong, I completely agree with supporting developers by in game purchases. In this instance it just seemed a bit forced and the cost per inventory space purchase was a bit higher than I would have liked. Aside from that, it was overall a very well put together game, and quite enjoyed the time that I was able to put into it.
Impressive but…
The game is well designed and interesting. But if you get stuck, you’re dead. The key you have doesn’t open the locked doors and you wander around the same area again and again. I think such a game would be improved by a hint feature, or maybe some sort of Help, I’m stuck! button…
This really is good
Wow truly old school REAL TURN BASED rpg! This is really well done! Great atmosphere and sound, fantastic 3D enemy models and animation!

Seems ok!
Played just to get out of the chapel. So far so good. Not my kind of game, but it feel like the eye of the beholder way back on the NES. Seems pretty nice
This is a hard game to review
The quality of the game is good, but for a paid game (I think it was), to then realise you need to spend a lot on gems to get a greater inventory, that was annoying. I have no problem throwing money at games if I am enjoying, and it looks like I will be playing for a long time. Honestly not sure how much I spent, maybe £30 or £40. I did this as on beginner and just have one intermediate spell, and two levels above. When teleporting there are lots of areas that have not been unlocked yet. £40 on a huge game is fine, as like to support developers. Then after playing on and off for two days, I reach the end of what is available, and if I click on the gate to progress, I am told new content soon. All those still locked teleport locations do not exist. All those hinted at spells I expect are not there. If this was advertised as a game in alpha, would have been fine, I would not have spent what I spent on it. If they had said before I purchased, for an enjoyable experience you need to spend x before you will not be solidly frustrated at inventory slots. It just feels like I have been swindled, as although the quality is good, nothing let you know of the money that has to be spent to get a good sized inventory, and as you are playing, until you hit the gate, everything points to it being a much larger game than it is. It does not feel worth the amount I spent on it in its current size, and I would not have spent that much if I knew how short it currently was. I feel that this will be a great game, but personally walking away from it for a couple of years.
really great classic-feeling game
i really love this! i prefer moonshades overall, but i enjoy the turn based combat in this one. there's a lot of cute little touches, like the way the npcs in town walk around and talk to each other. both games have this fun old-fashioned thing where you actually have to think and figure things out yourself. there's no marker for quests pointing you exactly where you need to go, and the puzzles are fair while still being challenging enough not to get boring. and the dialogue! it's really cute and funny a lot of the time.
Why
Why leave moonshades unfinished and then start a new game… i have a strong feeling this one is going to be forgotten aswell
Moonshades
Sofa So Good!!! As a Moonshades veteran I have been waiting for this one and I am thrilled to bits that u feel in the zone enough to knocking out Code again BECAUSE you do write such sweet (and dare I say it ELEGANT) code. I spent so long inside M/Shades I started to feel like I knew you. Still enough of that…great to be playing ya stuff again. Love your work man 👌
Hills
I love this game no idea what I’m doing I’m 77 but I’m a hit stuck I need a key to open the wooden gate and I need to fil my purple box but I’ll get there it’s a brilliant game unfortunately I have got to delete this game because I can’t get any help I ask questions and get no answers I suppose because of my age I’m too old, it’s such a shame I was having great fun
Two swords up
Great old school RPG
Деньги 💰 списали! Покупку не дали 👎🏻
Оплатил внутреигровую валюту, написали платёж не возможен, деньги списали, кристаллов нет 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Good game
First of all I’m really enjoying this game, it’s got that old school feel to it. I’ve got to elite 2 now so I feel that I’ve had enough time to give my feed back. There are a couple of things if you could take a look at 1 the boost skill does not buff the characters, at times I use that skill and it’s giving me the same damage numbers as if I wasn’t using it. 2 when the enemy uses the knockdown skill it knocks out all of my team but when I use the skill I only knock out one enemy. And lastly if you could give the other three characters there skill name I.e warrior, mage ect that would be great. Again the core game is great i cant wait to see what is in store for this game. Many thanks.
