Update The App Please
This app is useful, but it needs an update. I want to message my instructors on the app, not just on the computer.
Course content good, app bad.
The app is super glitchy. Lots of bugs. UX is inconsistent. Features don’t work. Would not recommend the iOS experience. Not good.
Works on first download, but…
After a a few weeks I was already having so errors. 1. I started with trouble logging into the app. Mostly because the app only allows for verification through email. I never have been able to receive emails from Udemy before, and so it was a matter of looking to get access. I contacted the Udemy help desk ai, which was very interesting. By that I mean it feels like it purposefully makes you go through loops to actually get in contact with Udemy to get help. Once I got the help, they contacted me through email and we were able to solve that issue. 🎉 2. I just logged back in today after always having access to my classes and all of a sudden my purchased classes were gone. I tried searching for them and it would not load. I’m not sure what had happened so I decided to delete it and reload the app onto the phone. Still did not fix it. Then I decided to see on the site it would load and sure enough it does. I’m not sure what kind of error this app is having, though I feel that this could be improved upon. Until then the app has lost me for now. I’ll just watch my classes through the website instead.

Classes are falsely advertised as accredited but they are not. Classes are useless except for maybe self knowledge. Waste of money. Instructors are difficult to understand and the printed materials are not in proper English. Waste of time and money

I can’t enable the notification both offers and courses. When I trying to enable the notifications it automatically disabled
Horrible on iPad
Many courses and some specific lessons won’t play on my iPad. My iPad is fully updated as is the Udemy app, yet still has issues. It’s really annoying.
Can’t sign in anymore
With a new update of the password less sign in - I can’t login. It writes “oops something went wrong”. Stop vibecoding, hire devs, add logs to a new “feature “
Website is much better app is trash
I have used Udemy for over a decade now but every time I try to use the phone app it’s glitchy or just does not work. I do not understand how the App Store is allowing this app to be listed when it’s down half the time and even when the app is “working” it is slow or the actual fetching of data is non existent. Just use the website or if you’re in a real pinch use the web mobile version the App Store version is just garbage.
Unusable on iPad
I have a yearly subscription that allows me to take many courses that I would otherwise have to purchase à la carte. This works fine on my desktop browser, but this app doesn’t seem to recognize I am a subscriber and instead wants me to purchase each course individually. I can’t use it on my iPad in this state, which means I lose the convenience of studying on-the-go. Very disappointed.
USE. THE. WEB. VERSION
Great company. I’ve used Udemy for years now. Despite this, I am writing an app review. The app is god awful. Not sure why such a successful company hired awful devs. It’s a wanky app, and off the top of my head, here were some major issues on the app: not all of your purchased videos will show up on “my learning” section, the search section doesn’t work… just says “trouble connecting”, wishlist is missing some courses, cannot find my shopping cart, and when I try to purchase a course, it says I need to refresh the app despite fully updating it and refreshing. In a world of AI to help devs (ESPECIALLY UI DEVS), their dev team should definitely be fired for this embarrassment of app considering how big the company is.

I used the website on my pc and it was really good but after logging in to the app on my phone it wouldn’t even register i had a subscription

Updated review! I stopped using the app but it is much improved and working correctly now. I love Udemy.
Broken & unusable
This app used to be pretty good. Now, it’s literally unusable. It lists only two courses I’ve purchased—despite the fact that, when I dig into the settings, it shows that it has downloaded copies of several more… of course, it won’t let me watch those videos, but they’re still taking up space on my phone! Worse than worthless.
Videos not loading & sometime audio not coming on ios app
Hi, This is to let you know that ios udemy app is not working as expected. Sometimes it takes more time to load but audio is not coming for some videos. It is working fine on udemy web. Please look into this as soon as possible. Thanks
Horrible
Totally unusable with the current version on my iPad Pro. The downloads constantly fail, so I’ve had to switch to using Chrome rather than the app.
Glitchy
Cannot see the course content so I don’t even know what section I’m on! Using the website gives you better access to everything you need to navigate Udemy
Lectures Missing
Ios app is broken. Doesn't show all the lectures in a course. Browser version works fine. Uninstalled and reinstalled but same issue. Followed your suggestion, ok now, checked multiple courses all OK, thanks. Great app afterall!
Poor app performance
For an app who's sole purpose is to have the videos playing properly, it can't even do that. For days i haven't been able to play ANY videos through the app. i have to play the videos from my browser. Udemy, if you're taking this much $$$ from us for your courses, the least you can do is atleast make a good UI and have it be FUNCTIONAL. It's the bare minimum
Good could use better organizing in gui
Would love to see “My Lists” in the app, better organizing option etc otherwise it works for me. Note: Useless now as latest updates broke video library access and playback but reinstall fixed!!
Buggy
I would rather Udemy charge a little bit more for courses and invest in improving the app. The main feature I want on with the iOS app is the ability to download and watch courses offline. But, it's completely unreliable - I just downloaded the entire course and it's telling me the content is expired and has to be redownloaded. I do and it still doesn't work.

Can’t use the app
The app is really bad. Most of the time I can’t access it because the login via Google doesn’t work. Keeps asking to verify over and over again. This happens most of the time to the point where I just join from my laptop. Udemy has good content but the app is horrible

Use the website instead of the app if it’s clunky
It’s great, I don’t have to spend time studying at college for 3 years doing music course level 2 (1 year) and music performance and production level 3 (2 years). I can just study on udemy. I’m so thankful for this app and to the teachers on udemy. The courses are priced so well.
Ads now during a course I bought
Udemy has gone downhill in the last few years, but this is a new low. Ads for coffee before I can start my lesson (which I paid for)

Estou logada com o email correto, mas os cursos que ja paguei não aparecem na versao app, apenas na versao web. O app não tem a seção ‘my learning’ que a web tem. Vejo apenas cursos para serem comprados 🙄
Buggy, and no way to get help
It makes me sad that this app has such great reviews, because it’s a bad app, with no real support options. I purchased a course that I’m trying to listen to while I drive. Problem is that the app keeps skipping lectures. I tried downloading the lectures on WiFi, to see if that would help, but it made no difference. I reinstalled the app, and how, only three lectures are showing up (out of hundreds). I let it sit for awhile on fast & reliable WiFi, and it still only shows those three lectures. I uninstalled again, rebooted my phone, and reinstalled. Same issue. I tried going to the help URL they’ve provided, and it’s just unhelpful articles, with no way to submit a ticket or request for support. So now I can’t listen to the course I paid for, and if anything, all they’re going to do is respond to this review saying “please visit our support page”
Good Learning Resource, Glitchy App
The videos and such once you download them work just fine. But on iOS, search functions and the helpful “tests” in the beginning are completely nonfunctional. Someone really dropped the ball on User Experience (UX)

Through a couple of years as I browse occasionally plenty of topics I can assure about the quality and the quick respond of resolving issues over technical or refunding issues and a range of free courses and occasional offers at discount.One of the best platforms indeed.

Best learning platform
I have been learning on Udemy from a long time and their app is a cherry on top. With the app now I can learn and brush up my learnings on the go. But recently I am facing an issue, whenever I select custom resolution to play videos then it is unable to play the video and show error as no internet connection, requesting the developers to kindly fix this.
Become towards a vibe coded slop
Sound not coming, weird refreshes, insane layout shifts, unexpected crashes. Oh my god. It does not feel like a ios app

Dumpster fire that never works
When you try to access Udemy.com in Edge - Error 401 and the site won’t load. Anything that’s not Udemy (eg support.udemy.com) will load but not the main URL. When you try to access the site in Safari or Chrome it prompts you to allow downloads and tries to download a file onto your device. Replicated on computer and tablet same issue across different browsers (even tried Brave and that didn’t work either). How you’re supposed to be making money providing courses that no one can access is beyond me but when you figure it out let me know and hopefully you’ll still be in business before it’s too late!

Many courses not showing up
Many courses not showing up and recent update seems to broken many things. Please fix ASAP
Instructor course View section glitch in IOS app
In the instructor Dashboard ( Course View section). The sales for particular Month isn’t visible instead it’s showing for the overall sales. For example: In the month of June sales are 0 and overall sales are 100$ then it is showing in the month of june sales are $100. It’s a bug or glitch don’t know but it’s very annoying.
5 stars for the idea
The idea of platform is great I was using it for a while and it helped me to gain a lot of knowledge during long period of time. Unfortunately app is not stable in some scenarios audio or video glitches appear, still prefer the web version much comfortable to be honest
Can’t access
Cannot open any classes, error for all 100 of them and the resources cannot be opened either
Screen experience
Some not a good experience with this app. You know when you search and scroll up, it keeps refreshing back to the top, which is annoying.
Can’t play courses on IPad
At the recommendation of the instructor, I am projecting the courses on iPad device and then doing coding exercises on main Mac computer, but on the iPad, I cannot see the full list of lectures, navigation is difficult if not impossible and it keeps playing the same lesson over and over, and when I advance it, it skips 2-3 lessons. Not a good app for iPad.
No sound
I am learning SEO course and while studying I observed that few lectures automatically doesn’t play sound. I need to reinstall the app Everytime this happens coz I paid for the course 🙂
