Highly dissatisfied for dishonesty
I recently purchased a class with no obvious label that it was secretly opting me in for a $349 annual subscription plan… in fact, I didn’t see any info about it until the charge was made… Apparently this subscription is for credits to get classes as they come, but in no world would I pay for such a subscription when you can buy individual classes when they are on sale… I am beyond furious as they have no working phone support number and they use AI to respond to multiple emails to dispute the subscription… this company cannot function with deceptive marketing.. it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Sad, because I love the artists they host to teach classes.

I have no idea how Domestika gets such a high rating here. Agreed, the courses are very polished, but very light on content. The support is nonexistent. If you have a problem there is NO-ONE to reach out to. Their billing strategy for DomestikaPlus is cavalier at best. They will not send a reminder, they wil not warn you, they will just bill you. In many ways, Domestika epitomises all that is wrong with online purchases - dubious quality, no support and cavalier billing practices. I would add that the AI voice over is very poor and the feedback on class projects is AI too.
Good content, poor user experience
We’ve found some really good instructors on here, some less so. The student reviews are typically a pretty good guide. My aggravation is the app’s lack of understanding that many of us do NOT want courses in other languages, will NEVER take a course in another language, and do NOT want them to keep emailing us “great new courses” that we get all the way to checkout and have to remember “oh wait - let me make sure this is in English before I buy”. My settings say English. I’ve had to cancel two courses for language when we first started on the app. And yet today I get an email with three “new courses I would like” and two of them are in a foreign language. I doubt we are unique on this? Seems like a simple concept to fix, but instead now I’ve had to just turn off notifications entirely so my daughter doesn’t accidentally purchase again. Frustrating.

Do not subscribe for Domestika
I highly doubt not recommend Domestika. They tricked me to sign up for a course of 1€ and then they deducted a full subscription from my account without any notice. I tried all the ways to return back then money. I even sent them emails but no reply. And they back this up with their policies. On top of all that the content of the courses is very surface level and weak. You can not depend on that only to truly lean new skill

Terrible customer service —all AI
I got the year subscription and I was supposed to get 12 credits. I only got 10. I’ve tried to communicate with a company over and over However I only get a standard AI response and the issue has never been resolved. I feel like I got ripped off and I don’t have any recourse. The classes themselves are fine and you can learn a lot from them.

Theo make you buy something cheap and without your consent subscribe you to expensive plans. Had to cancel my credit card, they secretly billed me over $200. SCAM
Lots of courses
I think the courses are great but the app itself has glitches, like whenever I try to max the videos, the preview video ends up playing on top of it. Better to watch from the website.
Muy buena interfaz, pésimos cursos
Compré más de 10 cursos esperando atinarle a uno que me gustara y solo 5 de más de 10 realmente son educativos. La mayoría son una especie de tutorial o Timelapse de 3 horas. Los maestros no saben explicar, no tienen un método profesional. Se la pasan platicando en los videos, no de consejos ni teoría… sino de experiencias u opiniones. Básicamente son videos de arte con opiniones y reseñas de producto. A los cursos les ponen el mismo nombre o nombres a ambiguos para confundirte y que compres 3 veces el mismo tipo de curso hasta que encuentres el que de verdad funciona. Muchos de los maestros ni siquiera tienen carrera, no saben expresarse formalmente y no han tenido un portafolio de verdad admirable. Más que cursos yo les llamaría pláticas o vlogs. No son para nada académicos ni te prometen un aprendizaje seguro. No son garantía de aprendizaje. Realmente espero que mi reseña le sirva a alguien antes de que sea demasiado tarde. Normalmente estoy en contra de las opiniones negativas, pero en este caso domestika sí es puro robo, sin temor a caer en especulaciones, porque los mismos cursos y su contenido son la prueba de que es solo eso. Qué afán de hacer dinero trabajando vagamente cuando podrías da un buen producto y ser honesto. No hay necesidad de robar.
No hay feedback
En esta plataforma nadie responde comentarios, dudas ni nada. Como hay cursos viejos los creadores no pasan ya por ahí o es gente ocupada. Aparte de dan una “promo” de tres cursos casi imposible de aprovechar porque no puedes elegirlos. Por ejemplo compré un curso de acuarela y quiero otro pero al seleccionarlo me aparece esa promo con el que ya había comprado. No hay organización en este sentido, deberían aparecer solo cursos nuevos (que no hayas comprado, pues). La calidad de los cursos es buena y el precio también.👍🏻 Solo falla en la propia plataforma. Para iPad es horrible porque luego no te deja volver a clases anteriores y hay que estar insistiendo. 😓

No hay servicio al cliente en esta plataforma. Nunca me contestaron en un año con la suscripción. La cual no usé ni siquiera. No la recomiendo.

He echado un vistazo a los cursos y me parece que los subtítulos están bastante mal. Sugeriría que cada profesor revisara sus propios subtítulos originales para que luego la IA no se equivoque tanto. Por lo demás los cursos son geniales!
Good content - horrible support
Most of the comment is really good. The stuff with the English overdubs is not as enjoyable but is what it is. But, good lord, god forbid you reach out to support on something - you will not hear back.
Nice but flawed
I love the idea of domestica and I did a course that was good, but it was in Spanish and it’s hard to follow the subtitles and watch what’s happening. My biggest problem with it is I can’t see a way to filter courses by language in the app. Is this possible? If so I can’t see it! I keep seeing courses I want to do but they’re in Portuguese or something and that’s frustrating.

Pure scam
Don’t fall for the free trial”. Not free AT ALL! They will charge you and renew a whole year subscription that you didn’t even pay for to start with. And then, they won’t give your money back because of their “policies”. It is just a well framed scam.

Background music ruined everything
I genuinely don’t understand how they could create such stunning production and then completely ruin it with the most annoying loud background music that is going on and on even when one is talking. You know you can also simple leave it without any music so people can actually focus on what they are learning
Casting option is faulty
I like casting the vídeos to my TV, so I can enjoy it on a larger screen. However we have the casting option, it doesn’t work well. Tv video stops when phone auto-locks. The other option doesn’t connect…

They steal my $345 money
I never mean to buy any plus subscription from them but I saw $345 bill from my bank account. Why I buy this. I entered my account from an advertisement and searched for a class and it was very cheap I bought it. Then weeks after I saw the bill! They did not help I wrote many times

Los cursos son alto nivel, y los profes simpáticos. Pero los precios actuales son demasiado caros.
Paid annual subscription doesn’t include all videos
So basically, I paid $300 for the annual subscription and still you have to pay for a lot of courses that are not included in it…like what the heck… 300 and I still have to pay for for credits because the subscription doesn’t include all of the videos in the platform. Not worth it if you want to take a course just pay for that course and not pay for the annual. They also make you an offer of one dollar for a course and then make you pay the subscription if you don’t cancel in 30 days they don’t even send a reminder and they charge you and they don’t give refunds.

Horrible customer service and misleading billing practices.
I did a trial with Domestika last year and had my credit card on file. I had no idea the subscription would renew for $349 a year. They billed me upon renewal and as soon as I found out about it I reached out to cancel and get a refund. Not only did they provide near zero human interaction on the case, they ended up closing it without resolution. Completely disingenuous service - AVOID unless you want to pay top dollar for poor quality courses supported by an even worse organization.

Latest update has eaten my courses
All my courses are no longer visible in the app. They don’t even show up as already bought even when I search for them by name. Although an enter now small tiny button link shows up on the top right of the page. Please make sure all our courses are showing up in all updates 🙏🏼 Previous review - Apple cast and search for my courses I love this app and all the lessons, especially since you have started translating other languages to English in videos. I would love it if you update the app so that Apple cast starts working again. Also, it would be great to have a search feature in my courses since I have more than hundred currently the search feature is only available to find new courses.

some courses are listed as PLUS, and I have paid (!!!) for the membership, but it doesn’t show me the option to go to the course when I am on its page. Also, why can’t we keep track of all the courses we are taking?? You either watch the whole course at once, or you have to look for its name again and try to remember at what minute you stopped watching…
Beware. Lacks communication for when you want to cancel
App works ok on the mobile and viewing the a few classes were fine, but some tabs seem to be missing on my app and I’m not sure if it intentionally done. Why do I say this, well after getting a promotional reduced price class I was automatically enrolled in their “plus” tier for 30 days with a promise of email 7 days prior to remind you of upcoming subscription. I’ve not received that email and now there is nowhere on the app to cancel. The help section and contact links don’t work either. So BEWARE as I’m now trying to get them to stop charging me £££s for something I do t want.

I caution anyone from trying this app — it will automatically charge you nearly $400 without your consent. And they have zero customer service. You can talk to robot about how they took your money.

Annual subscription charged without consent
I’ve enjoy the plateform a lot. But recently, an annual subscription has been charged on my card without me ever agreed to it. I’m so disappointed and frustrated! It is a big amount of money! I’m sincerely sad about the whole situation. I’d love this site so much, for the quality of the courses, the diversity and the whole mission. Feeling tricked here….
Idioma
Quiero poner en realidad 5 estrellas a la app porque es una de las mejores herramientas que he visto para creativos, es dinámica. Es buenisima y espero sigan mejorando. Aunque hoy algunos cursos manejan audio en diferentes idiomas, no entiendo porque la mayoría están traducidos al inglés o a el italiano, sabiendo que habemos muchos hispanohablantes usando la app. Es tedioso ver que te tienes que cargar un curso de 4 horas en otro idioma. Muchas veces se pierde información del contenido por estar viendo los subtítulos, o miras lo que hace el profesor o miras los subtítulos. Por favor, no traduzcan solo en inglés e italiano. En español también. Muchos tenemos este idioma. De ser así, habría más alcance en cursos. La app no puede considerar un traductor automático al idioma del dispositivo?

Filters need improvement
It’s challenging to find courses by language. For instance, I’m struggling to find videos of a specific discipline that are only available in English and with a plus subscription. I need to manually search for English-language courses.
problem with purchases
After the latest Dometika app update, i am no longer able to make purchases directly from the app…is this normal? its very frustrating.
Can’t Purchase Courses
I love this app and have a number of courses lined up to help me along a project I’m working on, but for the past week I haven’t been able to purchase any of them. It seems like the connection is timing out before the purchase confirmation has a chance to pop up. It says there is “an error connecting to the store” and to “check my network connection.” But I don’t have a connectivity problem on any other app, and the issue persisted when I recently visited my parents out-of-town, so I don’t think the connectivity issues are coming from my end. I relied on these courses and it would be a real shame if I couldn’t use this app anymore. I contacted support and have yet to receive a response, so I’m posting here, fingers crossed that I can continue to learn from the great courses and teachers this platform provides. If not, I’ll have to move on to a different educational platform, I suppose
