Great App. Great Courses.
No need to spend thousands of dollars when you can learn from great teachers on Skillshare! I wish I knew about Skillshare before I took an expensive course. I have learned more here. If you want to go deeper in your craft it’s also a great way to see which teachers you like best before you take their more advanced courses.
Not Many Free Classes
Many of the classes are not free. I have to have a subscription in order to take many of the classes. Not worth the money. I’m pretty disappointed. I recommend not using this app if you don’t want to pay for a subscription.
I love this app, but….
I just wish the app would be more affordable. I am on permanent disability and had my foot amputated, so my income is fixed and with all my medical bills it s almost impossible to find the funds to pay for this app every month and have the benefits from the artists in here. The new feature for artists to now sell there products in here makes it unachievable to complete some classes because the tools now are no longer free for certain classes. Sometimes, it just feels like it would never be achievable for someone like me, as I am sure there are more like me out there. But, despite that I do totally love this app.
Thieves
I’m gonna make this short these jerks did not send me a warning seven days before my trial was up AND tried to charge my PayPal account that had no money in it $150 4 1/2 days at 5:00 AM before my cancellation was due the instructors haven’t been active for four years and the same instructors are on YouTube for free when I requested support and help not one damn answer not happy never again
Can't access my classes
I signed up for a free trial. I wanted to continue and was offered a premium membership for $18.99 per month. I accepted this offer but… Every time I try to access the classes I was using under the free trial, I can't access my class anything and it only gives me the option of paying $49 per month (or $187 per year) what happened to my $18.99 premium membership and what is covered under that membership?
Best up ever
I love this app, it has great content as well as the best educators.
Bad customer service
I tried to contact customer service and just got constant AI responses. They make canceling your membership very difficult. It was impossible for me to get ahold of an actual person. I do not recommend using Skillshare. It is very expensive with terrible customer service.

The content can be good. The app is buggy af
This app is very buggy. It gets stuck loading. Says I am not online when I am. And many times that getting stuck loading just means it just never loads. So I can’t access the content via the app….so what’s the point in having an app? And it does this stuff on multiple devices. Oh, and don’t even dream of being able to make it through an entire course that’s downloaded. The app HATES loading content that you have downloaded to your devices. Sometimes it stops in the middle of a video many times. It will only play one video and the whole app is just very buggy when you’re using it off-line. So again, what’s the point of making it so that you can download content if you can’t actually access that content? Skillshare, I want to use your programs but you have to make it so that I can actually access them. Also, it really gets in the way of creative flow and having that solid commitment to creativity when an app like this has this many bugs in it.
Offline problem
The app is very good but unfortunately the off-line use recently has been problematic. At first I thought I was having a problem with my fingertips on the iPad but when I want to watch off-line videos, this app is not responding. It eventually gets there but only after a degree of frustration.If that can be fixed, the rest of this app is very good. Two stars off until it is fixed. May, 2026 - Still having problems getting offline downloads to work. Gave up trying to use it for long flights.

Skillshare is an excellent platform for anyone looking to learn new creative, professional, or personal skills at their own pace. The app has a clean, user-friendly interface that makes discovering and watching classes effortless. It offers thousands of high-quality video lessons taught by industry experts in areas like graphic design, illustration, photography, marketing, and even productivity.
Subscription
Be extra careful if you decide to pay for the subscription. They do not provide a monthly rate and the yearly cost is substantial if you do not want to continue using it past a certain point.
Text missing from submissions in mobile app.
The text of my submissions only appears on skillshare website. People put a lot of effort in completing their submissions, if their words are not given proper respect, why should I even submit or attempt a project? This bug projects a laid back image for your brand. I will give the app 5 stars if the bug is fixed.
My favorite life balance app
I work hard as a nurse and on my off time, I love being able to take a class and learn something new. I had taken a field journaling class at a local art center and although I loved it, I wanted more! I started taking field journaling classes through Skillshare and learned so much, at half the price for a year as I paid for a two day class!! I’ve also taken crochet classes, water color, Procreate, public speaking, and the list goes on!
Poor App
They make better apps with better teachers. Mainly people tryna push their views on you. And you’re paying to be indoctrinated. No thank you.
Excellent content
Good app with an excellent library. Only problem is the app keeps hanging. Somedays it doesn’t even open.
Charging for the free month
The one month free subscription is fake. Even after cancelling 2 days before it still took charge for the whole month subscription.
Downloading?!
It’s a good app, but for some reason, sometimes some courses just DO NOT want to let you download them fully. It’s the weirdest thing, like maybe 40% of the videos will download fine but then some will just error out and no amount of deleting and attempting to re-download seems to help. Even uninstalling the app and reinstalling a bunch of times seems to make no difference 🥲
Loving Skillshare!!
I love Skillshare! I’ve taken 24 classes so far and there is still so much ahead to look forward to. I am able to find classes for everything I’m interested in and the classes are high quality. 🩵
Good luck cancelling
It’s really not that great of a product. At least not to justify paying for year after year. But you cannot cancel through rocket money, cancelling through them is confusing and if you thought you think you’ve cancelled and haven’t they WILL NOT refund you even if you contact them as soon as the charges are made. They’ll email you back and forward all day but not give you a penny. Also they hiked the price from $99 to $167 and all I got was an email buried in spam just letting me know and a “oh well” email when I contested it. If I the price was realistic and I could cancel without issues I would be into this product but I cannot support predatory companies that make money through “gotcha” tactics like this. Nobody has time to read your long winded customer agreement. Just treat customers right and they’ll come back. It’s simple math.
Love the content
The content of the app is very useful but there is a lot of bugs on app and website.

I have a bandwidth of 1Gbps that mean I can play 8k videos easily, I watch 4K quality on other apps, but skill share app playing videos in 360p , so blurry, moreover I can’t choose video quality anywhere… so due to this I’m not subscribing it for
Video player issues
Skillshare has been my go to learning app for a long time now, it still is but the in app video player is horrible, there is no way to control the quality and video automatically switches to 144p even at best internet connection. I am having so much trouble watching the lessons on iPad. Please fix this issue and give manual controls for video quality control.
Impressed so far
There seems to be a lot of content on here (for my particular interests, anyway). Already 1.5 courses in, with twenty or so saved, and having a lot of fun. Very satisfied so far.
Annual Renewal Trap
I was charged $167 for an annual renewal and denied a refund despite contacting customer service immediately. Be sure to understand Skillshare’s annual auto-renewal and refund policies before subscribing. They will not refund you if you miss their single email notifying about the renewal. 🙃
App + Website + Offline Downloads
It keeps shutting down every single time I watch a video or gets stuck and can’t use it :( Please fix it ASAP
Expensive
I really appreciate that a lot of effort goes into creating an app like that pulling together so many amazingly creative and smart people, but…..I won’t be able to renew my subscription because the price tag has become so hefty, that I simply can’t afford it. A real shame.

I got this app for digital art and wound up learning so many different things! It’s amazing. Worth the price.
Impossible to cancel
Lessons might be ok but seems like sketchy business when it’s impossible to cancel and still charging people on canceled cards.
Great app, but missing some features
I do love this app - have used it daily since downloading. It’s a shame that I can’t add saved classes to my personal lists, submit projects or write reviews in the app itself. To do any of these things I have to switch back to the website. Apart from this it’s excellent!
Will not let me login
I enjoy watching the lessons that are created on this platform (which I can access on my computer) but the app will not let me login on my phone 😩 There is always an error code.

Good platform, but why can’t we upload projects on it? Weird.
Great Teachers
I’m learning SO much in these Skillshare lessons. I’ve always been hung up about not being able to “paint” a picture or draw something recognizable - the teacher I follow, Denise Love is so awesome about just making the process so relaxed and FUN! She’s a great artist with so many good ideas. I’m so happy I signed up for Skillshare - best money I ever spent.
OVERPRICED, astoundingly so
Not worth it. (Not just the app, the whole service.) In my opinion, they’re an extremely shady business who use aggressive sales and marketing practices to ensure their bottom line is as fat as possible. The fact that they offer “certificates” would be hilarious to me if it wasn’t for the fact so many people will fall for it. They’re blowing a bunch of hot air when they talk about “all the features and perks” they offer. I implore current and potential future users to always ask themselves the question, “am I actually getting anything out of this membership/subscription?” Because electronic badges, unaccredited certificates, and a bunch of basic mobile app features doesn’t amount to much if you’re not actually learning any SKILLS. (Or if the content being paywalled is just as easily available, and as reliable, as watching YT vids.)
Great courses but I can’t download offline
There are so many great courses available on Skillshare. The only thing that would make it better is if I could use the app offline. I’ve downloaded courses on several occasions but can only watch the first 1/2 to 1 1/2 lessons. Then it shuts down and doesn’t allow me to access any downloads. It’d be great to be able to use the app offline.

App crash on iOS 16
Hey, the app is randomly crashing during courses. No fixed pattern sometimes after 5 minutes or sometimes right after opening. Please look into it. Thank you
Different type of Learning classes
I enjoy that Skillshare is more down to earth people teaching their skills. Courses aren’t overly lengthy but provide a decent level of information. Also it is types of skills other training sites don’t offer. These tend to be a lot around being able to start a side hustle or small business.
Poor Business Practices
If you decide to go with SkillShare, make sure you confirm with the company that your subscription is cancelled before assuming it is. I cancelled a yearly subscription and was still charged the next year for $168.77. I contacted customer service about the issue within 48 hours of the mistake being made and they said, “it’s against our policies to offer refunds of yearly subscriptions”. I hadn’t logged into the site for over 6 months and now they want me to pay for another year’s worth of a service I do not use. Poor business practices.
No access to course resources
I love using Skillshare, but I do wish it was possible to access and download course materials on the apps, even if only the iPad app, rather than having to log on to the browser.
Courses are good but app is the worst
I have high speed internet connection, but app still shows me the worst quality of video. And there is no option to set the quality of the video.
Limited
I’m disappointed that they don’t show complete classes of the teachers (at least in my iPad) . Also the discussion page has bugs and not being able to upload projects and give reviews is difficult.
Sparks Joy
I always wanted to take drawing classes, but adulthood comes with lots of responsibilities and lack of time. Skillshare allows me to take quality lessons on my time from the comfort of home. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the classes and the response from the teachers and fellow students. Skillshare har become my new community. It keeps me motivated to learn and practice.

Some ok instructors/classes, but way overpriced and the customer service is awful. Save your money and learn on YouTube for FREE. Such a waste of $$.
Screening of the content would do wonders
Very helpful. Just a appropriate screening and quality checking of the content would be a tremendous achievement. Kudos to the team.
Frustrating Experience
I have been a loyal Skillshare user since 2019, appreciating the platform for its valuable content and diverse courses. However, my experience with the Skillshare app on both my iPad and iPhone has left me frustrated and disappointed. The primary issue revolves around the app's inability to download courses exceeding 2-3 hours in length. The download process halts abruptly after a few lessons or modules, leaving the user stranded with a spinning wheel of frustration. Despite reporting this issue multiple times to Skillshare's support team, I have yet to receive a satisfactory resolution. On May 1 2023, I raised a support ticket. Despite consistent follow-ups until July 2023, the only response I received was a series of apologetic and vague messages expressing appreciation for my patience. On July 13, 2023, Skillshare informed me that they were aware of the issue but provided no concrete timeline for resolution. As the year draws to a close, the problem persists, and there seems to be no fix in sight. While the content on Skillshare remains valuable, the functionality of the app leaves much to be desired. It is disheartening to witness a platform I have been a part of for several years fall short in addressing a critical technical glitch.
Good content worst subtitles
Most of the times (english to english) subtitles are going wrong, please fix that.
