Having to accept that in-class learning is close to obsolete, we’d better have the best high-quality digital/online learning. I think this is it.

Great concept, difficult to browse
I love the content and the concept so far. I am however finding it a little difficult to browse and filter within categories. I’ve used the app for the first time today, so it may just be that I haven’t figured out how to do this. The search also doesn’t bring up all relevant items for example I search for psychology and it only board up things that mention psychology rather than Courses that would come under the theme of psychology.
App has gone downhill
The app no longer shows trailers to the classes. So, you can’t get an idea if you want to watch them or not. Masterclass is great infotainment. But, the app isn’t great and the website keeps trying to direct you to the app instead of letting you navigate the courses. I’ll be canceling my subscription if they don’t fix the app soon.
Cancellation
Cancellation is hidden and communication difficult and slow. Payments are made automatically at different amount from initial agreement. The quality is good, but bear in mind additional payments for some courses.
Gear masterclass team
I really like your product but if I don’t have Internet connection, what’s the point to download video tutorials if without Internet connection I can’t open application. I believe you can fix this. Thank you. Best regards, Naz.
The app is terrible for screen mirroring
I try to mirror this to my tv and it never works right and I can’t control it from my phone
Chris Voss doesn’t work anymore
There’s no way to go back into Chris Voss. It gives an error and no other option to continue in the lesson.
Too many barriers to cancel
To cancel or turn off automatic renewals, you must do it on a desktop. This has ended up costing me so much money for this app that I never use. I used it for a couple of things when it started, but couldn’t figure out how to cancel it. Some of this is my fault for forgetting when I was around my desktop. Why can’t they make it easy to cancel on the app? Customer support has been no help. I caught the renewal a little bit outside of the window available for a refund and now I have ended up paying for a year for an app I don’t use.
Content is great, but app isn’t
If I download video offline, I can’t stream it via chromecast? Interesting design, because otherwise it’s just stream with such lags that it’s impossible to watch

RIP OFF Unable to Cancel
I have tried everywhere to cancel my subscription, but they do not list it anywhere. They just charged my account for another year.
Content is fantastic - but you cannot cast it on your TV :(
I love the content and appreciate all the information you can find. I also appreciate you can listen to the podcast without having your phone open but I'd truly wish I was able to cast it on my TV :(
Content aside the app is terrible
Glitchy app and it quits on its own… sometimes doesn’t even open. Also it doesn’t let you delete things from your progress list
Mediocre app
The classes are good but the app is mediocre. For example, you can’t see a course overview or runtime once you’ve tagged or started it. You have to go to the website to see it. Help is also from AI for the most part, so it takes a lot of back and forth for correspondence to be understood.
Annual price is way too much
I have limited access to MasterClass through my Revolut account and I already know I would love to see more classes. Although with the lack of monthly membership option, the only way left is annual subscription which is too expensive to pay it in one. I hope monthly subscription plans become available too.
No substance
These classes are just for celebrity lovers. Don’t purchase if you’d actually like to learn a skill.
Need notes and bug fix
Hi, I am not able to take notes on the phone app. On the laptop I can. As I keep switching my devices I am not able to refer to my notes or create new notes on the phone app. Also in the phone app , I am not able to unmute the trailer that plays when we open a masterclass. Please fix that bug.
App overheats phone
The content is good but the app is useless. It’s the only app on my phone where when I open it, the phone instantly starts overheating and after using it for just a few minutes I have to kill the app and take the case off to cool it down. Both the front glass and back of the phone (even thru the case!) are physically hot to touch. Just to test this when the phone was normal cool temperature I closed all other apps, opened just the masterclass app, and sure enough within a few minutes it was quite hot to touch. I have a 15Pro. I haven’t pushed it to the limit to see if the phone will shut off because it’s physically uncomfortable to handle so I just close the app and therefore it’s useless for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Can’t access certificate courses
Really need an app for the certificates.
Classes are great app is not
This is the best money I’ve ever spent when it comes to learning from people who are the best at what they do. The only problem is the app needs to be fixed. It’s very glitchy. It’ll start playing lessons when I trying to download. I had downloaded it a bunch of classes so I could listen to them while I’m walking and within 96 hours, they were deleted off my phone. Is there a time limit to listen to the downloaded items? I purchased access to the classes for a year. I should be able to download and listen to whenever I want within that year. There were a couple of classes. I had completely finished, but the app hadn’t marked as completed. Most times I want to listen while walking, when I turn off my screen, the audio should still play like my YouTube app does but it stops and I have to hit my screen so that the play button shows up so I can tap it to listen. Sometimes while I’m walking one class will finish and it will continue to the next one, but sometimes it doesn’t. I have to physically go into the app and go into the next class tap play, turn off my screen, touch the screen to get the play button to appear, touch the play button (touching your AirPods to start doesn’t work by the way). Please fix.

Just a bunch of celebrities trying to earn a quick buck don’t waste your coin!
App not great but classes are great
Only took off a star because the app is honestly god awful. Stops playing sometimes when you lock your phone or leave the app. Can’t click home button to go home, have to press the little arrow to get rid of the video. Can’t use swiping gestures. Classes are great though.
So so content, terrible app
Content is average at best. They seem to truncate everything down and gloss over many topics, which leaves a lot of knowledge gaps and prevents the content from being as actionable as it should be. Almost seems like they the programs are just a preview or advertisement for the speaker’s book, separate course, etc. App meanwhile is terrible. Super glitchy, often doesn’t save my progress, hard to navigate, many programs are not categorized appropriately and when I am searching the library, a previous course that I started will just randomly start playing full blast. Play and pause buttons can’t even function on a consistent basis. I have subscriptions to numerous similar apps - MindValley, Coursera, Heroic, etc. All are far better.
App needs work
Whoever updated the last three times needs to be let go the app has been terrible.

App is Majorly Flawed
The development team really needs to work on how it authenticates users. There is so much unnecessary friction built into the process. It’s easier to access a bank account than videos I’m entitled to due to my subscription payment. I will probably cancel my subscription simply due to how clunky the app is. I have to use a web browser to access my account right now.
AI Chatbot - No Need
Great content, super well edited - really annoying AI chat bot popping up in classes asking inane questions.
Auto-Renewal
Somehow they took my money without it being in my Apple subscriptions.
Please fix close (x) button on dialogs and unmute on videos
Using an iPad mini and I’m having trouble closing dialogs and unmuting. Tapping on those elements has absolutely no effect.

Issues with content and functionality
I am disappointed in the quality of content on the app. The information in the classes is very surface level. Ive completed probably 10 classes don’t have a better understanding of the subject matter than I did before the class using just common sense and human experience. But probably more frustrating is the app functionality. It is the only app I have that overheats my phone, even on audio only mode. I regularly stream video from several other apps without a problem. The app also freezes often, has a significant navigation delay, and the screen display becomes distorted. There is no excuse for an app with such a high annual fee to have so many technical issues. I’ve been using it for months hoping these issues were just glitches that would resolve and they have not.

Don’t get stuck paying for this
This is just another subscription service that wants you to pay and forget that you’re on an automated renewal. I haven’t logged in for 6 months. They charged me for an annual subscription one year after I signed up to try it. I reached out IMMEDIATELY after they charged me and asked for a refund. After fighting with them they are only willing to refund 50% (but I get to keep using it for 6 months…whoopie!). I haven’t logged in for 6 months, what makes you think I’m going to start now. They don’t have many useful classes. They could have refunded the full thing but they are greedy.
Great content but clunky app
The content is fabulous but using the app is fun, in fact it’s very frustrating. It’s hard to keep favorites, nearly impossible to navigate through episodes and difficult to search older classes.
Brilliant
An investment one won’t be disappointed in!! Was attracted to this due to Chris Hadfield’s Masterclass, and Armin Van Buuren. I’ve had it a week and can’t stop watching multiple masterclasses. Great concept and thanks for this. As long as the content continues to be updated regularly with new experts etc, this will become one of the most powerful and insightful learning and knowledge platforms out there. Thank you!
Gift
I received a membership as a gift December 25, 2025. I utilized it a little back then. I tried to sign in today and my only option was to pay for a new membership. I would like to take a couple of courses but I don’t want to pay again for the gift I was given. This seems like a bait and switch.

User interface is trash
The User interface is trash. Often can’t even find my progress on and browsing is bad
Room for improvement ..
So I like the app and all but of course there is room for improvement. Like this .. I would like to be able to block the "classes" I don't want to see I.e the "Parenting" that just came out .. I don't want to see that and I would like to block that and only see the stuff I'm interested in. Sadly though these don't seem like "classes" either more like a "I can do this this way " or I cook it this way not much of a "class / teach / learn " type of thing I was hoping for .. I still like the app but yea it just seems like the people are on here boasting or whatever not really teaching.

Keeps trying to charge a credit card that is canceled despite trying to cancel my subscription. They attempt to charge this card literally every couple of days.
Inspiring but not much more
The videos have inspiring tone to them but no much applicable knowledge is shared but the teachers , the videos seem to be calling for attention (in some of the classes) more then actually revealing “how to” or “I done it this way” frameworks , yet some other content is good so I’d say it’s a bit and miss , not very consistent… 4stars is a good rating
Terrible app functionality
While I enjoy the content, I don’t like the app functionality. I was hoping to use the app mainly on audio mode, it is not available on the carplay or android auto. If listening to audio and you want to see a text, the app will stop playing. Based on the fact that it is an expensive subscription, I would have loved to have better quality features and listening capabilities. I truly hope they read this review and make changes on the app.
Great content, sluggish user experience
If Netflix was a 10 for the user experience in terms of navigating from one selection to another MasterClass would be a 4 out of 10. Often, when you want to simply continue your selection where you left off, it lags and it seems to keep a poor track of where you left. It ruins the user experience as it feels glitchy. I’m one day in and I’m in tears of joy. There’s so much wisdom packed into these pages, punchlines, and video I’ve already had a breakthrough on getting un-stuck about something I’ve been stuck on for a decade. Bravo MasterClass!
App failure
What is the point of having the ability to download classes if one is not able to play them without being connected to WiFi or internet?
Problems with the App
The service is great, but… the app tends to quit and reload whenever playback is paused for 1 or 2 minutes in the background. Every time I’d pause for longer, I’d have to reopen the app, wait for it to load all over again, and click on resume. It’s a minor action but it becomes so repetitive that it becomes a nuisance daily. In addition to this it seems like it takes too long for the interface to load when switching between pages, which makes it less hard to search through the courses quickly. Please fix this by optimising background refresh and quickening the app load time.
I was a loyal subscriber for years…
…and the early stuff was really really good. But of late there have been few interesting releases and the effort has gotten sloppy. Every class is one long video, some with no chapters; and many of the topics are just chasing ads for whatever the “instructor” is really selling. You’re signing up for a year-long commitment which you will find way too long for the quality now on offer. BBC maestro is way better, and less expensive.
Annoying app, self centered masters
Didn’t like the app at all. Couldn’t download on my data, only on wifi. Ridiculous that an app would decide that for me. Annoying to get back on a video you half streaming — difficult to find in the app… And the masters are… if not boring, self centered? I get talking about your wins, but it gotta illustrate a larger point you wanna share to people. Didn’t like what I watch. Boring.
