Not Paying Money
I wanted to use this app to take courses to learn new skills and improve the skills I already have, but it turns out that I have to pay money. And I do not want to pay money.
The app runs smooth but there’s definitely bugs
Certain courses ask me to introduce myself in the discussions tab but it doesn’t work, I also can’t seem to edit my profile as it’s limited? Which means I have no way of changing anything. I’m a little confused.
Love the platform
It is very friendly user and you can have courses of almost every topic that you can imagine. Love it love It love it
Not stable
Logs out at random moments and gets stuck in a loop. Useless as a learning environment without reliability. Using on up to date iPad with vpn connection.
Harvard’s “We the People” a Mess
Editing my original review of one star after I checked out another course on this app, which was easy to navigate . Regarding the Harvard course, see . Downloaded to take a free course. Did extensive problem-solving research and then tweaked everything recommended. You can’t read the text on the page. The text is lost on the right side. Impossible to finish the exercises ridiculous survey where you’re to rank one through 18 with tiny tiny button buttons to press, but the screen only shows 16 dots. So much more. That’s wrong with this app.

I get the opportunity learn from several top institutions. Harvard, Doane, and others. I am striving. Building my post-baccalaureate knowledge with individual graduate studies courses towards a possible Master’s in Public Health. I can work at my own pace within their guidelines and receive course credit and certificates.
More like a first draft
I can’t believe they actually released this app to the public. It’s barely at alpha stage—half of the features don’t work, and the other half are hidden. Garbage.

Navigation, filtering, and contrast issues all over
Red text on dark mode dark green. Searching for courses, like U.S. Government yields results with privated YouTube videos, archived courses, and more before active and relevant courses. When in courses, the backlinks try to open in a webpage instead of the app, so it’s jumping through this web view within the app and Safari instead of being a seamless experience. Accordions expand/collapse components, everywhere and no easy way to just go through the course in sequence. Have to expand each to hunt for the next item. Have to tap Finish to ensure it captured that you watched the video or took an assessment…

It’s so good but it’s annoying when you have to get out of the app to a Google link because you wanna submit in a course

Courses didn’t download - poor support
Lesson learned - don’t use. Lost $521 because app didn’t download class and the chat assistant is worthless. Unclear how to get reimbursed. Bad. Frustrated.

Everything is great but the subtitles aren’t synced with the video when it’s on x2 or x1.5 etc

Usefull with opportunities for improvement
You a have some courses that I desire to acquire but i din’t. Here are some reasons: -Lack of flexibility in time for start and finish (If all the classes are recorded, why not get free for each one to choose your own ritm and availability?) -Difficult to find the option to upgrade for audit mode and pay for certificate trough the mobile app. (99% I use short times and my mobile to try to study. Why the option PAY FOR IT is not clear, direct and in the first option. Certification allways is important since I’n spending my private money to improve for professional purposes) -Complex and long duration tasks and exercises. (As I mentioned, i use the mobile and short times to gain knowledge so I prefer objective questions) -The platform also could look for more content (to little base of aerospace trainnings and other specific knowledges .

Operational but needs improvements
I still need sometimes to go to the website version to see some videos here and then. Idk why, but sometimes the app keeps loading eternally and doesn’t finishes, then I need to go to the website version and in seconds is done.
New user but I enjoy
There sooo many different classes and subjects to learn. I’m sure the certifications you can purchase would be helpful with looking for certain jobs and look good on a resume but I mostly downloaded for curiosity to see what’s out there to learn and am enjoying it heavily. It’s easy to maneuver, there’s sooo many different course options, just a lot you can experience for the affordable price of FREE! Which coming from the states, is rare for many of these types of classes and courses. I think any who have a natural curiosity and passion for learning should download. Theres also a discussion tab for most classes so if you’re a learner who likes interacting with others, that’s an option still for you. Just all around worth it.
Fgs fix the app
A few instances: 1. I want to search for a course. I touch the 🔎 icon and a blank screen indefinitely. 2. I have enrolled in course A. The course is ended and a new one is on the way. I want to rolling my enrollment, to enroll in the next run of the course, and there is no option to do so easily 3. I am inside of the app, and an ad appears to convince me to install the app!! 4. Constant referral to a browser. What is the point of the app if we need to move to a browser to see the content? Your courses are more expensive than Coursera and your service is much worse

EdX provides such an amazing opportunity to learn subject matter at an accelerated level. I am very grateful it continues to provide a free path to engage curiosity.
App needs work
The content is excellent. The app leaves a lot to be desired. It tells you that some content is better viewed in a browser, and some content that should be straightforward like a quiz does not even load in the app. That’s fine, except that then you have to be online which isn’t always possible. This is extremely inconvenient for fitting lessons in while travelling. I really wish the app were better.

第一次使用EDX iPad版本的app，有两点改善意见： 1. 全部下载完毕之后，重新登录，发现之前下载的文件都没有了，需要重新下载，希望制作方可以考虑改善该问题。 2. iPad版本的EDX只能打开视频文件，无法打开文档，所以根本无法完成课件，我测试过家里的网络，是没有问题的，所以建议后台进行整改。
Great content, but website experience is better
Video buffering, failing to play, and content that appears and disappears batter a few seconds… The website experience is far superior than the app

I love this app! The interface is excellent, easy to navigate, and simple to understand, with lots of links to visit if you want to dive deeper into your studies. The videos from professors with such deep knowledge are extremely helpful. You also have the option to get your certificate if you want it. It is just an amazing tool that I will definitely keep using. Thank you for making this possible!
Not working
Application is not working mobile. I have tried evrything. Nothing has changed. :(:(

Good content but slow to load
Good content via this app but I seem to be constantly looking a the spinning refresh wheel. The content loads quicker and is much better presented via the browser interface

EdX has led me thru a varied curriculum to something I am passionate about, healing neurodegenerative disorders. It brings people to education from some of the top schools in the world. Via a platform where you can get feedback from the professors and the students. I recommend it to everyone.
Permissions & privacy nightmare
App requests information on other devices on my network. What does this have to do with my coursework and why is this necessary when I can simply log in instead, and if EdX needs further confirmation it’s really me, it has many other ways to verify it’s me (behavioral fingerprinting, IP address, QR code on website, etc)? No thanks! I guess I’m stuck using the desktop version. Uninstalled this spyware after 10 seconds.

unnecessary refreshing issue
Please reolve this bug. When i’m on the any exercise or question page, the page automatically starts refreshing after about 20 seconds. and it takes time to load the page. It’s really frustrating.

I don’t know why the app stopped to work on my iPad which is not really old 3 years! I deleted and reinstalled several times with no success. So I use the desk top version of EdX.

Great content, decent app
App works ok, but annoying that you can’t do split screen on an iPad as I like to take notes on another app as I work. This pretty much prevents me using the app and doing courses I’m interested in, and causes me to favour apps like Coursera where you can do split screen - all because of a technicality. Content is great and app seems to work pretty well on its own nonetheless. UI is a little basic. No progress bar. Slow compared to similar apps I’ve used. But ok. Probably a 4 star, maybe 5, if there was split screen. Functional app nonetheless - not so bad that I just have to use desktop version, like with some apps.
