- Login issues with Google and GitHub accounts
Very good app
Codeacademy is very beginner friendly and mostly free! Overall I haven't had any complaints about the app, and I also use the desktop version all the time! Highly recommended.
multiple pay options
I tried to learn coding on Lua since I don’t know how to code I went on the app and I choose my preferences and I’m a beginner cause. I don’t know how to code for some reason they are going to hit me with multiple pay options and there were zero subjects on there the only subject I was able to use was the unlock pro option and I and that means the app is unusable one star.
Good app
Good app. I am learning programming for free and the lessons are very step by step. One thing is I would rate this 5 stars if they made more ability for lessons on the app.
Buggy
I like the UX and UI, it’s great, but I’m trying to get through some hacking and security courses and it’s super buggy. It won’t let me get progress. Might have to look elsewhere.
Good study help!
I’ve been using this app for about a month now and I like it, but some tools are a bit janky. The “flash cards” are actually one flash card that keeps refreshing. Buggy but it could just be me. My mistake for learning Java 😂
Better than expected
Pleasantly surprised with this application. Very user friendly and easy to navigate. The training is very effective. I dont have much spare time but i set the reminder and honestly 20 min a day is even making a difference. I would love to work my way up to an hour a day.
Boring
All I get are flash cards? Wow
Codecademy Go
Codecademy Go is a good site for practicing coding facts and the website is very good and interesting for learning new coding languages and computer science related skills. Could have more in depth quizzes. Recommend.
Awkward
I don’t understand why there is an app if it just opens in a web page? And there’s random content in the app that doesn’t make any sense to the course?! Weird set-up, no explanation. I’m lost already.
The wrong answer is the right answer
I’m not a fan of teaching methods like give the wrong answer to make an error. This reinforces mistakes, it’s better to request the right answer, then ask the user to make the mistake if you want to teach what to look for.
Great Quick Practice
Love that I can just do a quick practice between my everyday tasks.
Won’t stop messages
Will keep emailing you via Apple even after deleting app.
Really good!
It’s amazing especially as a kid trying to learn for my future projects and things. There’s just one issue it seems to glitch when displaying the streak when you try to earn another day of practice it shows it for a second the goes back to the day before. And it would be nice if you added a widget which shows your streak. But either way really good and well designed.
Not consistent
On my Desktop I can see where my progress is at, at my latest course, but on IPad it looks very different so it’s hard to find where I left, I feel lost in this App. Maybe if I started on this one I would feel lost on the Desktop but I feel it should be consistent in all Apps and website.
Great but mobile app not as useful
I'd still like to get through the course on mobile
I love this app!!
I love this app with or without internet it works!!! It is so fun to play!😁
Terrible UI
Where's the course content? It sent me to a browser to explore courses. Then, when I selected one, a pop-up message tried to send me back to the app, but the course was not there. It had random courses. I selected one, but it was just the outline. I regret buying this subscription!
Love Codecademy but I hoped to learn on the app
It’s a pin to learn on the go in the web browser you can’t paste for instance, but at least the practice is there.
Bugged
Upon completing a course, I was brought to the sign in page, where it then told me that "too many sign in attempts were made"
pretty okay
lets you review flashcards and do some quizzes, which is fine. what i really was hoping for was the ability to use workspaces and access video content / lectures, so it's just kind of... light, as far as content and usage goes.
Am I going
Am I going to make it through school and get my certification? With this app I may just make it . I can’t do it without the help of the app thank you so much for helping me realize that I may not be cut out for coding I wish I’d had tried it out before I went ten thousand dollars in debt paying for a school that I will most likely fail. I just hope that I can learn enough to make it to some job of some decent pay grade . Thanks to this app I know I need lots more help than I can get. I’d advise you to try it first before spending your savings on school because it’s way harder then I could ever imagined
THIS IS A SCAM
They don’t tell you app is PRICED $18 and also didn’t let me get the benefits of my paid subscription for Codecademy. Also dumb app and didn’t have any practice material for the career path I am enrolled and participating in.
Great app
Code academy gives you all the resources to be successful. My only problem is having used the 50% off discount and for it to want to charge me full price for pro after my trial ends. I will be forced contact my bank if the discount isn’t applied. I would suggest taking screenshots from the time you enter in your code - card info (reflecting the discounted price) so that way you’ll have solid proof to dispute with your bank if discount isn’t applied. I reached out to support, I’ll wait to receive an response concerning this.
Login bugged
Cant login through google! Please fix as I’d love to use this app but my account is through google
It’s a way to learn
Although most of the courses are free some aren’t it’s not perfect but it’s a way to learn and I choose to keep learning for 8 months that’s my goal.
Great
Good learning
Trash app annoying AI
Forces an AI assistant that is slow and bad at it’s purpose. I don’t want to argue with a stupid clanker. Just shut up.
A little app of facts
It is like having interactive flashcards everywhere you go. Have practice and learn in the minutes between other life activities.
Mobile application is not great
Eh it’s too confusing
Enjoying the courses but the app is pretty useless
Definitely check out Code Academy but don’t bother downloading the app when it just puts you into a browser that you have to log in to. Kinda defeats the usefulness and convince of an app.
Cantflyyet
Learning how to code made simple I’m currently practicing in cyber security, code adept makes things simple download you won’t regret it
Impossible to delete account
Classic case of over promise under deliver. But what pisses me off is that it’s impossible to delete you account once you make it. It puts you on an infinite loop if try to delete your account.
Github Authentication
Please please add the github authentication. I paid for the pro version using my github account. I want to access my account on my phone as well. I hope the devs can read this.
Practice questions severely bugged
Conceptually this a really useful app, however the practice questions don’t display properly and are severely bugged, meaning they can’t be answered correctly and rendering them useless. This has been an issue since I downloaded thee app; evidently the developers have zero interest in fixing the problem, which is extremely ironic given that the whole point of Codecademy is to teach people how to code. Dear developers: Fix it.
Looks nice but lacking for newcomers
The app is decent for looking at random stuff each day and keeping stuff you already know in your head by giving you quizzes in the form of practice sessions but everything feels a bit disconnected and the review sessions used for teaching are often lacking some of the necessary info for the practice sessions which makes the whole thing feel less useful for people looking to learn a new language. The app looks very nice and it’s very clean but for learning a new language, you’re better just finding books to read or detailed tutorials to look at the follow alongside with as they’ll better teach the fundamentals which helps things to stick and make things easier to pick up and learn as you go.
Great easy on the go practice
Accessible learning wherever I go when I don’t have my laptop
Not beginner friendly
When I joined I said I wanna be a game dev. I clicked the beginner friendly course and it’s throwing acronyms in my face I’ve never heard of. You have to teach what these acronyms are before trying to have me solve what they are (in dummy terms)
It is mid
So I am trying to make a video game an I thought this would be the best app for it but it keeps takeing me to a website And I is a lot harder to use so I tried It on my pc an it worked flawlessly so idk why it is an app on you phone but if you use it on pc it is better
Needs iPad support
Love the concept but I like to review stuff when I’m relaxing in bed winding down for the night. I use my iPad for most of my reading and would like to continue my studying and code stuff vs my phone or laptop. Please update for the iPad.
Some questions don’t work
The questions that ask you to fill in the blanks don’t show any legible information and it’s purely guesswork - HTML hello world question - fill in the blanks
Code on the go!
I enjoy being able to code right before I go to school.
No user friendly
If you came from Mimo you’ll see how difficult it is to even start off it’s all over place it’s not just here you program just click start instead they have it all over place I’m still trying to figure it out and yes it don’t matter If it’s desk top or app both with have you running around
Wish you could continue with career paths on the all
Good for practice but can’t use the career path at all at mobile. Very disappointed as I thought I could learn everything. On the go.
A lot of Bugs
So, I use Codecademy a lot online through my browser, I try to use the app a lot but there’s a fair few bugs that need to be addressed
Frustrating on an ipad when in landscape
Although a good app for reviewing what you’ve learnt, you can’t get much information on the screen at the same time resulting in constant scrolling back and forth. Especially annoying when you need to type anything or choose answers to questions as the keyboard covers even more of the reading space. Would be good to have an app designed for tablets rather than just stretch one for phones.
So fun
This app and the website make learning code fun and easy
DO NOT USE!!! SCAM!!!!
Entraps your account and will not let you delete your account once created! Nothing is free here. Its all paid. Any other implication is a manipulation.
Good, but…
It’s a good app if you want to learn on the go, but the website on computer is far better for learning, the app just feels like it’s been squashed down and oversimplified, with blocks instead of typing.
Limited
App is okay but too limited. Can’t actually do much in the app and need to go to the web site anyway as the app is only partially functional.
Aesthetic, but lacking functionality
The layout and overall presentation of the app is great, and the lack of ads (besides the prompts to subscribe to the PRO service) is a much-appreciated touch. However… I feel like this app is extremely limited compared to the desktop version. The mobile app does not provide full access to course content, every module is just simplified into a syntax quiz of sorts. These mini syntax quizzes are admittedly kinda handy for revising key syntax structure, and quite satisfying to play… but that’s it. You simply will not learn how to code with this app. You will only learn how to parse syntax in a multiple-choice format. Not incredibly useful beyond the absolute bare essential basics. If you are serious about learning coding, I’d suggest you use the desktop version of Codecademy, or a different app.
