Fantastic app
Great app for learning with lots of great content. Using the full premium version which was a bit of a pain to sort out, but all good now.
Won’t delete my account
I tried it out and it doesn’t offer traditional Chinese characters, so I tried to delete my account, and it just hangs. It never actually deletes my account.
4 Stars for a Good App that Could Be Great
The main purpose of this app receives 5 stars. It provides cultural stories and news stories for people to read. You can also have a story created for you based on your competency level, your desired length of story, and your preference for fiction or non fiction. You have the option to read it to yourself or have the app read it to you at your chosen speed in your target language. You can look up words you don’t know to get the definition and to save it to your glossary. You can also record yourself saying the word. Now to the 3 star downsides of the app. The app doesn’t work completely. There are supposed to be a vocab matching game where you can practice matching words between languages for that story. It opens to a blank screen. It has never worked. There is also no mechanism for spaced repetition of vocabulary that they add or you add yourself. This app would be amazing if they implemented a vocabulary review section like on the Busuu language app where it lists all the vocabulary and has sections for strong and weak vocabulary that you can choose to review so that you don’t forget with time. There’s also a bug where sometimes when you had a word to the glossary that it adds multiple cards of the same word. The app is also a little clunky for language learners who are studying more than one language, especially for the glossary. It doesn’t always keep the languages straight. Also, when you record yourself there is no feedback as to the accuracy of what you’re saying. Some of these are bugs and some are ways they could improve to make a good app great. The stories are already great. Just build up the app infrastructure around them to be just as great.
Please avoid using national flags for languages!
Using national flags to represent languages is a poor UI practice. Languages like Chinese, English, or Spanish are spoken in multiple regions. Pairing Chinese solely with the PRC flag, for instance, ignores non-mainland speakers like Taiwanese users and feels exclusionary. Please consider replacing flags with plain language names (e.g., "繁體中文", "English") or globe icons to make the app more inclusive for a global audience.
Good content, poor UI, ill-thought out learning tools
The app is worth it for having access to graded level appropriate texts with clear audio, but it suffers from poor design, and learning tools that don’t really help with learning. It is very hard to re-listen to the sentence you just heard. The flashcard system is very poorly designed. The quizzes don’t really test language skills, but memory for trivial detail details. And numerous other small issues. Still, so far I find it worth it for the core content, though I feel frustrated every time I use the app.

Hello Beelinguapp team, I really enjoy using Beelinguapp for language learning. The bilingual and split reading modes are very helpful. Currently, there is an option to hide the Chinese translation and show only English, which is great. However, I would like to suggest adding the opposite feature: 👉 Hide English / Show Chinese only This mode would allow learners to: • Read the Chinese translation first • Try to recall or produce the English sentence by themselves • Then reveal the English text to check accuracy Suggested implementation: • Add a new display option in the split/view settings: “Hide English (Show Chinese only)” • Ideally, allow users to tap to reveal/hide the English sentence • Optional: support revealing sentence by sentence, which is very useful for speaking and translation practice This feature would be extremely helpful for active recall, speaking, and translation training. App version: 3.9.1 (iOS) Thank you for your great work!

Grammar explanations needed
I’m learning Russian at an intermediate level. My girlfriend is also using this app at a completely beginner level. The main thing this app is missing, after buying the premium version is its lack of grammar teaching. For example, there is no explanation of Russian’s six cases, its three genders or its tenses.
Will not renew
Learning Polish but cannot get past “The Rain” on the Journey Route on my phone or IPad. Contacted the company several times and they are unable to fix the problem. It’s too bad, I like this app.

Great but please sync across all platforms
Love this app will rate five plus stars when it syncs across all my devices thanks … still waiting for an update… ??? Update I appreciated the two recent updates yet still some glitches with the flash cards and syncing… can the stories be alphabetized by the most recent so you don’t have to try and look for the story you just read when you want to start the game portion ? Covers are AI slop
I personally hate the vibe that this app gives off. In it, all the story covers are AI and they are EVERYWHERE. Really begins to make you wonder if the stories are written by AI too. It’s just too uncomfortable for me to use.

Too many bugs
This system is impossible to use on a Mac. It just does not recognize a user from the app and keeps trying to sell you a membership you already have
Misleading
I have to install this app on two different devices in order to learn true languages at once. Please add a pause between pages when reading with a voice. It’s very hard to catch the first sentence when the page has not flipped yet. —— original review I subscribed because I’m learning two languages. However, the apps only allows one language at a time, even though it claims to unlock all languages. Also, it will be helpful to have a better dictionary listing the infinitive form instead of whatever in the article. I enjoy the app, but I think it has room for improvement.

Great App, But Premium Stopped Working
I absolutely loved this app. I purchased the yearly Premium subscription and used it every single day. It quickly became one of my favorite language learning apps, and I was genuinely impressed with it. Unfortunately, my Premium access suddenly disappeared even though my Apple subscription is still active until May 2027. The app keeps asking me to subscribe again, and “Restore Purchases” doesn’t work. I’ve been emailing support since July 7 and haven’t received a single response. It’s been over two weeks, and I have no idea what’s going on. I’m very disappointed because I paid for a full year and simply want access to the subscription I already purchased. Please respond and help resolve this issue.

Great for learning vocabulary in context
This app provides a great source of comprehensible input, especially at the intermediate and advanced levels of language study. The topics are wide ranging and interesting, including many articles on the cultures related to the languages you’re studying.
Can’t feed online
I used to access this app from my iPad. I recently renewed my subscription and got a MacBook. The app is not compatible for MacBook and you can’t access the content through the browser. This is frustrating and I want a refund.
Great Learning Tool hampered by bugs
Hi like the app and have paid for premium. The content is good and makes for a really effective way of learning a new language (more so than apps like Duolingo - which I also use - I find). However, the app has unfortunate bugs. The count of how many stories I have read this week just does not work. It resets to zero almost immediately after reading a story. There was a screen which came up and showed my progress through specific learning modules (going from A1 level all the way to C2) and I was using this last week but now it has disappeared and I have no idea how to get it back. Now I am back to reading random stories from the library with no way to track progress. I really hope the developers can resolve these issues because I think the way this app structures and facilitates language acquisition is really good.
Falls short for Greek.
Sample content was extremely limited. I took a leap of faith and bought the year but so far am not all that impressed. I was intrigued by the reading angle and the promise of music. I could not find any music in Greek, which is why I got this app. I like the idea of learning via news snippets and the folk tales but these are very dry/ need to be supported with pictures and more audio samples during the vocabulary matchups, and when you select a final answer if you are correct it should show your answer with the equivalent in your native language so you can actually learn the sentences better. I will stick around to see if improves because it is hard to find decent language learning content in Greek and I like the concept. Not overly impressed at all though. It could be a decent supplement to another app but I doubt you could start as an absolute beginner with this app, you need more of a foundation to make this work.
No Customer Service
The content, to me, is fantastic. There’s are stories of many different subjects and levels, and it’s not all for kids like other apps. I would recommend this app to anyone, but there are two nitpick concerns and one substantial issue. 1. The audio is very robotic. 2. Some of the vocabulary chosen in the story may be a synonym to the vocabulary they have review after the story… oof. Big Issue I sent two emails asking for them to change my login email as I no longer had access to the one I had been using (old school email). I didn’t get a response… well, except now I receive their junk email in my new inbox every day asking me to buy the annual plan, which i’ve already paid for but now it’s wasted since I can’t log in. It’s a good app but if they have no customer support then you are out of luck apparently. Update: I randomly remembered my password. I would give 4 or 5 stars if not for these 3 issues.
I love it
I love this app but this improves why how I can learn Arabic instead of something where I should know how to read but this is why I don’t think what I haven’t been started yesterday about what I thought with this but I know everything about what I did yesterday but I have no idea about what I did.

Its literally just you reading something and theres english and Tagalog and you just read like its not helping me at all at this point i rather just wait for duolingo to come out with Tagalog because these apps are not very good
Amazing, just one major downfall
I really adore this app but there’s one major issue. Languages with different writing systems have no romanized options. This makes learning incredibly hard for beginners, especially for Chinese. There isn’t even pinyin to check the tones. It really is a shame because I love this app, If they added this featured it would be perfect.
Full AI Content - worth $24 a year
- The stories are AI generated. The way they use the language doesn’t feel natural. - Every story I finish I get congratulated for finishing 0/1 daily stories. - Profile trackers and badges are boring and certainly don’t motivate me. - The “games” are basically one question quizzes. - I like quickly grabbing my phone and having leveled content to read. - if I had to pay full price, I wouldn’t.
Hard to learn more than one
What is the point of offering more than one language when you can’t have your own individual learning path for each one. Like on Duolingo, you learn each language at its own pace with however you choose. In this case you’re just reading the same thing in a different language and you can’t save progress and go back to it. You just keep switching it in the setting

too frustrating
this app has SOOO much potential, you have fiction,non-fiction, story books, you can even make your own stories up and it’s great, REALLY great. Plus, you have a vocab area and flash cards which is extremely cool. However, there’s just too many bugs and it takes an awfully long time to get the app running. the stories, the journey is a great idea but it gets muddled up and overall it’s just way too annoying and irritating thing for me to use. hopefully when this develops more in the next two years i’ll download it. for now, i’m removing my subscription.
Good to use even when free
I always frequently read the free content they release and it’s very helpful to have a direct translation on the side so I don’t have to go through the hassle of doing the same with google translate. Great app

Great app but missing key functionality
I love the idea of the app and reading side by side with your mother tongue really does help with language acquisition whilst also learning general knowledge. Two birds with one stone. The key missing features are as follows: The translate feature is extremely basic and just shows the word in a small pop up for about 2 seconds. The translate feature should ideally show a much larger pop up with English translation, pinyin, Chinese character and list of definitions and perhaps even more example sentences and with the ability to save the word. The feature as it stands is too bare bones and not very useful. Secondly the flash cards feature is also very under developed. I think it mentioned there are games to play but I can’t find them. Literally all it shows is the Chinese word on one side and the English word on the other. This needs to be more fully featured. Lastly there are a few minor bugs. Sometimes when the app is reading to me it rolls the screen away from the current sentence (in both languages). This, as you can imagine, entirely defeats the purpose of this app. Nevertheless I love the app and have already upgraded to premium. I would just love if they could look at these few issues.
No trial, forced subscription
The app might be good, but I’m not sure because there was no trial period at all. As soon as I opened the app, a subscription offer popped up. When I declined, it immediately offered a 50% discount. Still, it required me to subscribe and pay before I could try any of the features. That’s why I didn’t like it at all. Of course, we should pay for people’s work, but first you need to show users what kind of program you’re offering. Uygulama belki iyi olabilir ama bilemiyorum çünkü deneme süresi hiç yoktu. Highs and lows
While the app actually has some engaging content and some good variety, the sharp cracks and pops of audio glitches, along with background noise and keyboard clicks of the stops and starts of recordings are both obnoxious (particularly random sharp audio pops) and feel amateur.
lovely app with a few minor issues!
This is app is a great idea I am a student taking A level french coke september and have just bought the premium version. It is great for both reading comprehension and listening skills! however i do think some things could be better for example the one word translation could be improved as for words such as ‘alors’ or ‘qui’ have many different meanings, i believe a grammar section of some sort would help this out:) Also the speaking idea is great and i love being able to add any words to my glossary however, it does not work 9/10 times i fry unfortunately still a great app on the right track
Damaged no support
I tried very hard to use this app but it just does not work. Don’t waste your money you will not get a response from them.. Apple told me they are removing this app .
Scrolling issues
The scrolling through the text is sometimes inaccurate and so you can’t see what is being said at the time.
AI Voice
Cheap but AI voice makes is useless. Also the app doesn't appear in my subscriptions in the app store and I can't figure out good to cancel nor is the company responding
Nice idea but buggy
When this app works it’s great, but articles regularly close and cannot be reopened without restarting the app. The microphone also wouldn’t work for me. I have an iPhone 14
Story
Absolutely wonderful! I loved it is set, the background of the narrator really helped in pronunciation. The stories are very interesting. Loved it absolutely! Really recommend it if you want to learn a language.

Great idea but very buggy
I can’t get past my first story because the “Games” section isn’t working. Also, some of the vocab is wrong.
Portuguese is Brazilian not European.
Had a Quick Look, not as much content as I was expecting. Would be helpful to clarify that it is Brazilian Portuguese at the beginning to avoid the frustration of having to sign up to find out.
