Front "page" tech issues
I have subscribed for years and read daily. I've generally found this easy and informative but lately many of the articles on the Top Stories section don't open when I try to tap/open them - very odd. I have to search for the key words in the article title, then I can open from the search page. Is it my phone? Don't know but the sports section still showing NBA as the first sport even though the season has been over for months is definitely not my phone. The ability to personalize the sports section was removed for a while now (maybe a year?), but that hadn't worked as intended for a couple years (it would lose the personalization and revert to standard every time). So now I get the sports scores and schedules elsewhere. If this tapping on the Top Stories section articles continues, I'll have to switch my news app, too.
Used to be a great app
This used to be a great app until they started "improving" it. Now it refreshes randomly so I can't come back and finish an article if I get interrupted. And the Entertainment section now takes me to the web version. Honestly, the web version of USA Today sucks. That's why I subscribe to the app. If I wanted to wrestle with the web version, I wouldn't have bothered to download the app. I'm disappointed in how much this app has changed over the years, and not for the better.

E paper is easy to use; plus we get weekend information
App never opens
iPhone 16 Pro is up to date along with the app and I’m using strong WiFi. The app will not open at all. Get the logo then a spinning circle. Even deleted it and reinstalled it with no luck. Now I’m missing all the grammatical errors you sprinkle through your headlines because nobody proofreads anything before posting it online.
Good news, prefer old format
I have been reading USA Today since the 1980s and on line is good but prefer the older , more script headlines without picture "headline" . Easier to read o decide what to read full story . Excellent reporting

Paid Version Shows Ads - That is Complete BS - App Keeps Needlessly Charging for Worse - Fix it - you have to reset it 3 or 4 times on PAID version to finally get ads to disappear. Now the Entertainment section takes you to the web version - which it terrible. Fix this. That's not what I bought. The Developers are horrible. On iPad the version looks god awful - make it the way it was when it worked. Come on do better.

This is my go to News app. I love it. However after the last update it literally won’t load while keeping it on the page to close it and then come back a little while later and then it’s loaded. It’s unacceptable. Fix it.
Tiny Home Screen font
Good news articles. But the home screen font for the articles info is so tiny it’s hard to read. Unless I’m missing something, I cannot find a way to increase the font for the home screen. However an article I can change the font. But the home screen writing is so small that it’s uncomfortable.

My thoughts
I enjoy the app and the layout currently. My preference is to read stories, even if condensed. The sports section has too much or to many stories on the same sport and not a lot on other sports. Overall, I like the app and view it daily.

I like the content of USA Today, but why does this app take about 20 seconds to load on my iPhone 16 when every other app loads almost instantly? Can you please do something about that?

Lately, the app has been crashing a lot. Also, it limits me on crossword puzzles per week even though I have a subscription that promised unlimited crosswords. Signing in and out or restarting my phone doesn’t seem to fix the issue.

The latest upgrade changed that. It spins. Go to app support. Awful. Contact us. Nope. Goes nowhere. Go back to the old or at least fix the current one. Spinning doesn’t make you look good. crossword puzzle glitch
So I accessed today's update to the app and now the crossword puzzle feature is not working. Neither today's crossword puzzle nor any of the past week(s) will appear on the crossword puzzle list. One year later -- and the latest update has, unfortunately, not been successful for me. Can't open the app at all -- and yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. Any and all suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and thanks to the IT techies/programmers--all is working wonderfully. January 23, 2020 With apologies -- once again an update to the app has caused major problems for me. I can no longer access any news items in any category. And yes, I did uninstall and reinstall the app. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help. Your newspaper is my go-to resource for American news -- I am Canadian and I appreciate your no nonsense, unbiased approach to reporting. February 28, 2020 Thank you! I have five news apps and this one is by far the slowest. It almost seems like ads are prioritized before news.

What Happened To The Print Edition App
I enjoyed the print edition of the newspaper on the print edition app which I no longer can find. The edition on the current app has too much stuff at the bottom making it much less enjoyable to read.
STOP THE ADVERTISING! AD FREE Subscription SHOULD BE AD FREE!
This is at least the 6th time I've said this. I pay for AD FREE and USA TODAY inserts ads anyway, as well as countless SHOPPING articles throughout. What a rip off! USA TODAY always shows my Ad Free Subscription as Active. Then why all the ads?

Yes an interesting app good up to date news but it looses a few stars cause it's plagued with adds and to watch any videos even a 5 second one you have to watch a minimum 15 second unskippable Advertisement
