Getting worse and worse... :(
This was really great until they started to ruin it!! Why do the finance, tech people, and investors so scared and have so little imagination and creativity? They only want the exact same news from all US media. Not every news site has to look like the NYT. And not every site has to have the breezy feel of the old Today show. Uggh!! ---- And, by the way, one really news good article on a topic is better than three mediocre ones, obviously.
Was tv, got tired of it.
Haven’t watched tv in 3 months. Reuters gets to the point of news. A lot of news is within 2-3 hours. My uncle was Army. Not political. Eisenhower wanted a “bullet” to hit another “bullet” midair. Uncle “Van” being a mathematical genius, was the primary person for the advancement of our Smart weapons today, as well as the new ship laser. I would have loved to see a few clips of him on tv or news. I’m very proud of our country and the personel enlisted and veterans. It’s just Awesome ! Everette 8:4:26
A hot mess of a UI
I’m SO disappointed in this app. Bought an entire YEAR of subscription only to find a thin list of topics and an interface that is SO CONFUSING it’s not worth even messing with! You’re introduced to a video, only to listen to a min or so, before being interrupted with a “listen to the full article” link that goes to a completely different article and then never actually plays the rest of what you were originally viewing. Why!? 🙇🏻♂️
Anonymous
When it comes to Canadian Politics, Reuters tend to have left wing writers. It’s unfortunate.
Factual, unbiased news source
It’s hard to find fact based reporting these days without extra commentary and political coloring. Reuters provided this. Also if you pay you can skip the ads. Support true journalism and also save time at the same time.
Cheating?
I signed up and paying for Reuters News $4.00 a month, but app not installed
Honest News
A wonderful way to see what is happening around the globe with a media you can trust
Subscription contains ads
Wish there was an ad-free subscription option. Ads and subscription feels gross, like contaminants in your news source causing bias. But app itself is simple easy access news stories. multiple length videos to recap the news depending on free time.
Chill…it’s me
Love Reuters nonpoliticized news coverage, but the app has been driving me crazy with requests to sign in, etc.
News
Very good info
can you talk about anything else besides the iran war
i mean seriously
Excellent
Excellent; professional non-biased reporting the way it should be. So different than most other media. Little or no spin. Like listening to the podcast options. Reuters far exceeded my expectations. EJP
App kept asking to subscribe
Deleted the app and cancelled the subscription because despite having a subscription via apple for a number of years, the app started asking for a subscription each time I used it as of a week ago. Replaced it with AP.
Good news, bad app design
The app colors/design make it difficult to read headlines/articles. It’s messy and needs to be simplified
Superb Reporting
Breadth, depth and quality coverage. Well worth your time for anyone interested in what’s actually happening in the world.
They sold your data to ICE
I’ve used Reuters as a reliable news source. Unfortunately I had to delete this app due to hearing the news that Thompson Reuters signed a $125M deal to give ICE access to its databases of personal data. I can’t support media that is complicit with this police state.
Poor layout on iPad
Great coverage. The app makes very poor use of the iPad screen real estate. I use the website instead.
No longer neutral.
Searched hard to find a neutral news source. Reuters used to be, but not recently. Now strong left tilt! Totally refuse to say anything positive about the right.
Adverts
I am a subscriber. As a subscriber I do not like the adverts at all. If they are a must then they should be separated from the stories. Most of the adverts are just selling trash and takes away from the professionalism of the journalists stories. I would appreciate some work on improving this UX/UI otherwise I will drop the subscription.
Fixed the “verifying device pop”
I previously complained about an annoying, full-screen “verifying device” popup but that looks to have been changed now
Selling out to ICE
Reuters has always had pretty fair reporting, but I’m deleting my subscription on the account of Thomson being bought out by ICE. Corporate greed + data for the Gestapo = goodbye.
My News huge improvement
Very happy to see that in the latest app update, the My News newsfeed bug has been fixed. When navigating the newsfeed you are now returned to where you left off rather than to the top of the newsfeed. Just one other app issue remains and that is the inability to filter by topic the newsfeed. Hopefully, the Reuters app development team will be able to find a solution for topic filtering. Subject to that, I will be happy to change my app rating from 4 stars to 5 stars.
5 / 2 =2.5
5 for the content - my favorite news app. 0 for suddenly locking me out DESPITE having a paid subscription. Rounding down.
Small font
The font is way too small to read on an iPhone and there’s no way to change it. As others pointed out, this new version is more bloated and confusing than necessary.
Strong and honest journalism
I’m happy to read Reuters news. Glad to support good journalists. I Should do more because eyes in the world, of humans, is our best defense. Appreciate them.
Selling data to ICE
I am thoroughly disgusted that the owner of Reuters has signed a deal to give ICE access to their databases. I’m uninstalling the app and will never use the site again.
Defamation of REUTERS name
First of all, please visit online English newspapers in Pakistan (like Dawn) and check REUTERS articles. They highly distort, greatly change your articles, resort to lies and propaganda, but publish under your name. This greatly damages your reputation. Please investigate REUTERS articles during the last 3 months in DAWN newspaper of Pakistan. When I read an article, I was shocked, I thought REUTERS can’t write such unprofessional, highly biased, dishonest and distorted propaganda article. After checking and rechecking I understood what Pakistani intelligence agency was doing to your articles. To protect your reputation, REUTERS must take legal action against DAWN and other Pakistani newspapers.
NOW Biased!
You have moved from the centre….so unfortunate!
Video compilation gone
Unfortunately the latest update removed the most compelling feature of the app for me. There’s no longer an hour-long compilation of the latest news which distinguished this app from others as it was updated almost daily
Daily dose of cultural
I trust Reuter’s well written journalism.
Used to be free
Now they want me to pay $4 a month to read news. App deleted. Thanks for ruining a good thing.
Uninstalled
It was a good app but I uninstalled it after they started a paywall to read articles.
Crypto crashes
Each time I type the word “Crypto” when searching for a topic to add to my feed, the app crashes.
Reuters TV
Why did you remove the Reuters TV feature, it used to save me time reading news around the globe within a few minutes. Bring back this feature.
Balanced and insightful
Reuters is a refreshing change from ideology-based new sites like Fox and MSNBC. I find the articles offer intelligent analysis and a reasonably objective perspective.
Expensive
You have to pay to read the most basic news stories… I see Reuters has responded with pointless info confirming my review. It should be noted that the AP app provides better quality and is *always* free to use.
Font size
Option to change font size is not appearing anywhere. Kindly provide one, as this font size is too small
old version was perfect
Reuters used to be my go to news app everyday and now it’s a paid subscription that only let’s you read a free article here and there- I always source multiple news sources but I still haven’t found one that was as good as that old school Reuters app it honestly was that good and I miss it everyday it’s too bad I would love a 360 turnaround but I understand that things have changed it’s still a good news company that hasn’t changed at least
Great
Latest update is meh. At least let me increase the font size.
The best
The most unbiased reporting available
Greed ruined this app
Intrusive paywalls on every story. This used to me my favourite app, now, I switched to AP News.
Would be a 5 star if
The app had a text to speech feature.
Version 6 design is a flop
October 2024 update: so now Reuters has a paywall. But the ads are still there. Nope, not paying, and now removing the app from my phone. ——-~~~~~~~~ This new design gives me headache. Fonts oscillating between large and small, news lumped into clusters without much logical narative. Do you guys use AI to curate this new layout? Please go back to previous design. And in the meantime, I’ll switch to AP. Their design was definitely inferior to your previous version, but with this update you managed to lower the bar well below theirs!
Readability
The Reuters app has been my top news source for years, but with the new interface not supporting font size adjustment (increase), the app is not really usable for me, sadly.
Great updates
Reuters one of the best!
Text Size Too Small
Allow me to make the text size larger. The titles of the articles are huge but the actual body of the article is still so small and it’s maddening.
A must have news app
In the days of increasingly unreliable and biased journalism, Reuters is one of just a few that stands out as a trustworthy source. The app is good - stable, easy navigation, etc. And ReutersTV provides a customised news update (I only wish they added support for ChromeCast, as I’d use it daily - would be happy if they added an advert to cover costs)
Why ads after paid subscription?
News content and journalism is great, covers world news and braod current issues. However not happy that I have paid for subscription and still seeing ads.
Good app but
The latest update made the widgets break, and most of the time you can only ready the headlines not the full article
