This App Keeps Getting Better: 3 Key Reasons!
1. The interface is smooth, clean and uncrowded. No insane, weird sidebars, just beautiful, elegant black and white lettering like the NYTimes App ( Easy beauty to replicate and so far only CBS News learned the open secret of the NYTimes and WSJ… people want to feel like they are holding and reading a fancy newspaper without all the annoying folding of paper! Ease of scrolling + beauty of layout is the key! ) 2. Your font is well chosen! Again, most importantly, your font makes or breaks you when it comes to keeping people reading on your app. Please make sure to keep your headlines bold and authoritative in their font and your text clean, newspaper-y and with gravity. You are very, very close with your current font, but I want to see CBS News have the gusto to go all the way and have a NYTimes and WSJ Style. 3. You are pivoting to the era of podcasts nicely. Not quick enough though, but nicely. This may be at the behest of new management or simply a slow burning process but CBS NEWS is rightly realizing that the app + podcasts combo is the news consumption way of the future. You are still all in on video for now, given the giant streaming blob that hits me in the face when I open it. But getting you to a full article first, BBC App Style would be bold and right. I understand many like streaming at this current point, but to get to that final app stage where its podcasts and articles in a beautiful, newspaper layout with crisp black and white elements would be perfect. Right now the CBS NEWS APP and whoever is working on it understands simplicity, authority and beauty are the three key elements to a great news experience. Thank you whoever you are, you’re avoiding the screw ups of ABC, NBC, Fox News and CNN, those bloated, plastic monstrosities of apps that make me want to vomit. Now call up AG Sulzberger and buy his dang font from the Times! LOL

Constant Bug Problems
The app design is okay but frequently has issues. Often, it stops allowing full picture when you turn your phone sideways which it is doing today. It also allows you to do Picture in Picture, but you have to restart the app to go back to full screen. Also, the app support link for them here in the Apple App Store is broken and leads to nowhere. Aside from software platform issues, it is also annoying that you cannot access CBS local news through this platform. Serious improvements are needed.

Not accessible with a screen reader
As a voice over user (screen reader for the I Phone. This app is not user friendly and it definitely has to be made accessible so we who r screen reader users on any device other than a tv has to allow blind users to access the same links and information that r sighted peers r able to access..

Accessibility
There are really no accessibility options for the visually impaired. The app does not support larger text fonts from Apple settings either. Not a very good news app for the visually impaired.
Fair and unbiased coverage
Im looking for a news source that neither hates Donald Trump or hates him. I hope CBS continues to try to be neither, but its clear some reporting leans towards a negative view of Trump.

Money Watch has stock and index prices at the top in a banner. Kinda crazy it’s not. You can’t explode images. You can’t flip your device. This app is great on iPads but sucks on iPhones. Swing and a miss.

I watch and enjoy CBS morning every morning with Ann Marie. can I continue to watch it until about 10 o’clock in the morning. it has become nauseating that on every commercial break you play the same trailers. Right now is the Fairly OddParents paw patrol survivor, which has been done for months, Joe Pickett, call of duty and 1883.It has come to the point that when it comes on I actually feel nauseous it feels like clockwork Orange. I know this is only a streaming service. But it is the only place I get my news in the morning. Please please please try to become more involved in and change the streaming commercial breaks so that I can enjoy your program all the way through instead of shutting it off constantly. Thank you.
Violent show previews
I enjoy the news reporting. Especially Face the Nation, CBS Sunday and 60 minutes. But I cannot stand all the violent and explicit content in the advertising that runs. I wish there was a way to limit these. I don’t mind all the advertising for restaurants, pharmaceutical company’s, financial companies, etc. Just bothered by the advertising for shows like Dutton Ranch and similar that show graphic violence.
No search function
Disappointed to realise that there is no search function in the app.

I like cbs news… but their video autoplay interrupts my music and distracts from reading the article… I just use a different news source instead.

Is it necessary to have the same ad 3 times in a row? And the same ad’s for over a year. The news is pretty repetitive too.
Excellent on IPad
I have always loved Sunday Morning and the interesting topics it offers. Now I can have this peaceful and informative quiet time with stories that are educational and entertaining. No need to miss anything now with this app.

Great news desk personalities
I’m a regular viewer and have been for quite some time. The personalities and reporting are clear and concise. My only complaint is that they have been running the same program advertising incessantly over and over again even though it is clearly outdated. It’s got to the point where it’s annoying and often I will exit the app and look for something else to watch.
I no longer trust CBS News
I make this short a sweet. I used to love CBS News. But I lost my trust in them thanks to Bari Weiss. However I will continue to support the local CBS News.

Many of the pages are only partially loading. Typically the starting pages load but the last half doesn’t load leaving a blank screen as I scroll through the article
