Lots of flexibility but so unfriendly
This app is so buggy. There are always issues with login and confusing additional logins needed for things as simple as adding deposits. If you want to trade internationally this works… kinda… but honestly could do with a ground up rebuild.

Passkey problem
Does not work reliably with a NFC passkey! Why can’t we have to option to choose between biometric authentication and NFC passkey
Improvements
Overall rating: App is working solid and contains a lot of features which required a full system 15 years ago and now you have it in your pocket. Compared with other brokers some features are still missing. Improvements: Display - we should be allowed to rearrange column size or indicator size below the charts. Some indicators are just for too big and you stop using them because they taking so much space. Orders: We should be allowed to place orders as percentage of our portfolio size and the closest quantity to the % should be set by the app. If I want to risk 1% of my portfolio for the order the amount should be set based on the NLV. Options: For the love of god please fix these points: 1. let us combine options positions. If have 1 short and one long option on the same ticket then allow us to combine it to a spread. Especially since they got seperated if you close a single leg on a multi leg strategy. It’s inflating the position size and in order to close to position you need to close them separately with single trades instead of one combo trade. 2. add some sort of options price calculator for premarket or AH. Many websites and broker have some sort of black scholars calculator in which you can set the IV, pre-market price to have an estimation of the opening price. This would allow us to place stop loss/ profit takers in the premarket. If you have 40 options positions and you want to setup 15 exits in the premarket, then you have to calculate them each one of them. Doing this in the 10 minutes before the market opens to work with the most recent quotes is insufferable. 3. rolling options for multi legs does not work. We got forwarded to the options tab in which have to roll each leg separately. If you want to close one leg and add it later will also lead to the problem described in point 1. News: Some news are free and have high values. At the same time there are redundant, annoying and AI generated news. As example of a stock plummets I get 30 news article to join a classified lawsuit action. I dont need the 30 articles back to back. Columns: Some useful columns are missing which have to be looked up in the position itself. As for instance „avg. price paid“ for the position and/or the delta price paid and the actual quote. The total cost base is irrelevant.
Add Mobile Key function to iPad and watch
iPad and watch don’t have Mobile Key function for 2-factor authentication. They are both considered as mobile device and very secure as iPhone. All other banking and trading platforms provide mobile key function for all different kinds of mobile devices!!
Very bad technical support
I tried to register an account and one of steps were to deposit some funds, I did it and then decided to cancel my application. I wrote an email to return my funds and they answered me that I can read answer on my inquiry in my message center on my account, which is closed! Every single attempt to contact them ends up the same, they redirect me to cancelled account message center, which is not existing.

Options trading
Everything works pretty well but: 1. I have limited screen space and would like to be able a setting to see only the Call or Put chains. 2. I would like to highlight the strike price as a visual reference without selecting a buy or sell field. 3. When rolling an Option I would like to see the sell and buy orders beside each other to clearly see both sides of the trade, not just the net result. 4. I find setting stop losses etc at the time of placing and order requires too many clicks and could be simpler.

Performance Chart Misleading - Shows TWR Instead of Actual Returns
The app has solid functionality overall, but there’s a major issue with the Portfolio Performance chart that creates significant confusion for retail investors. The chart displays Time-Weighted Return (TWR) which can show dramatically inflated numbers like 120% gains, while my actual portfolio might only be up 7% or even negative. I want to see my actual Money-Weighted Return (MWR) - how much I’ve really gained or lost based on when I invested my money. The current TWR display is misleading and doesn’t reflect my real investment performance.
Authenticator does not trigger anymore
Logging in in the web mask used to trigger and authenticator verification, but this no longer happens. I have to always go and generate a challenge code. Very cumbersome.

Einige täglich erscheinende Meldungen lassen sich nicht abschalten, aber sonst ein fast perfektes Trading-Tool.
Inaccurate
I now tested for some hours. Most fun thing is the Monthly view of a chart in landscape mode. Scroll to a year breakpoint. The app renders a hole additional month in the timeline of month view. I tried several solutions to check if the settings are wrong but no. An entire additional month makes you loose orientation. Btw, settings get lost, i can not distinguish which indicator i selected, unselect is not working, layout management is a mess, the entire UI space Management for mobile is bad, UI elements which we do not need such as empty rows eat space, text boxes in the chart are hard to handle. Try for example to set a text box witch content at a specific date, change the view and zoom and see what happens for your self. Some tables are sortable, some are not. It doesn’t load the layouts from the desktop version but weirdly proposes their name I gave them in desktop as a default name in mobile. Guys? Why? If features are not good for mobile you need to disable them or retouch them. This is awful. When playing Candy Crush I don’t care if it is accurate. But managing my life savings with your app??? I need ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE that your app is accurate. I am really insecure if I want to use it for real money. Sorry, looks really good and depositing is really easy. But with a closer look it’s a hard 2 star.

Fantastischer Broker / tolle App

Bug in registration
Once the application process is interrupted, I was asked to log in to complete the application, but it always shows „invalid username password combination“. I tried to start over, and it said my email is already in use. Please fix this.
Options pricing data delayed/unavailable
Hi IBKR Dev Team, Can you please check, why the app is not showing live options pricing data (bid/ask) of options that are in the watch list? This bug started to appear recently (1month) and is really annoying :( thanks!
All you need to trade!
With the option to now place OCA orders with the app I finally have everything I personally need within the app! The only thing I dd like to change is the US market overview / indices... why the NASDAQ / S&P500 and Russel 1000? The Russel 1000 makes absolutely no sense in addition to the S&P500, just 500 more large caps?... It definitely should be NASDAQ / S&P500 and "Russel2000" ... or even better let us chose... But still very nice developed app AND broker! Will stay a customer for life:)

Ich finde die App insgesamt ganz gut und handle Optionen ausschließlich über die App. Vieles im Umgang mit der App musste ich mir allerdings selbst aneignen. Ich würde mit mehr tutorials spezifisch für die App wünschen. Es ist nicht unbedingt selbsterklärend. Daher ein Stern abzug.
Technische Plattform gut, Kundenservice eine Karastrophe
Ich nutze die Plattform gerne, um meine Derivaten Handelsstrategien abzubilden. Damit auch grundsätzlich zufrieden, man darf nur keine Probleme bekommen. Insbesondere wenn man für das deutsche Finanzamt die Steuerunterlagen benötigt. Auch nach Monaten ist IB dazu nicht in der Lage. Fazit: was nützen günstige Preise, wenn man parallel Probleme mit den Finanzbehörden bekommt.
