Best digital board game I ever played!
Brilliant game, deep, exciting, works well on most devices. A real gem!
Not working
I uninstalled and tried again several times, but it just doesn’t work for online games. It crashes every single time. So I’m stuck with tutorials and local games vs computer. I have an iPad Air 2. Def not working for online games. Who's going to refund the money now? Just a waste.
Lovely implementation of a great game
But still some bugs to iron out.
Not playing apple music
I like the game. However, I’m not able to play while listening to my music. Whenever I get into the game, the music just stops. Please help with this, it hadn’t happened before with other games
Nice game/it takes ages to load
I play this game from a Macbook Air M1, and it takes ages to open for some reason. Zooming in and Out is a nightmare. Please fix it!
Rootity toot rootity I love rootipy scoot root root root root
I love root
Great board game, good conversion.
Pros: - the original board game is superb - this digital adaptation has lots of great points - async mode works very well - the iOS app Syncs well with Steam Cons: - there are bugs, and the developer doesn’t release updates very often - the adaptation is NOT faithful to the original game Some weird decisions have been made which distort the game. In particular it’s not possible to see cards that should be visible — e.g. in Eyrie decree. I’d love to know why a digital adaptation designer decided to mess with what the game designer intended.
Crasha
AI is too easy
Played about 10+ games as a beginner, lost only one or two (and now beating the AI consistently on hard). Appreciate the added challenges but these wouldn’t be necessary if the AI wasn’t such a pushover.
Great Version of a Great Game with Great DLC
Authentic Board Game port, great art style.
Lost my expansion
Bought the Riverfolk expansion on google play logged in but it didn’t transfer to the iPad app
Chinese Localization is incomplete!
The Chinese Localization is incomplete, please update!
Love the game but....
Love Root! I can’t express that enough. However the app currently crashes once every 10 minutes in play the only saving grace is it saves automatically so I can just spin it back up again. Once this is patched I’ll love gameplay even more!
Great time passer with plenty of challange. But..
It’s great fun and has a fair bit of challenge, especially the actual challenge scenarios. Unfortunately clock work enemy’s seem to be bugged and can do stuff they shouldn’t, for example the electric eyrie just casually ignored the rule of ‘you can’t move through uncleared passes’ on the mountain map by moving their armies THREE TIMES in that exact manner. So yeah, games fun, worth playing, but there’s still some bugs that need ironing out. Also the AI needs improvements, it has a VERY bad habit of self sabotaging at times, especially noticeable, again, with clockwork enemy’s in play.
The game crashes often
The game is great for about ten minutes then it crashes, boot it back up, play again for ten minutes then it crashes again. Such a shame
Great game but too annoying to get 5 stars
A great port of the board game with fun, enjoyable graphics and sounds. Only real issue is the constant replaying of everyone’s actions even if you have already watched it. Especially if you go to answer a text message and come back within seconds the whole app has to load up again. Fix that and it’s 5 stars.
Bellissimo ma su iPad continui Crash
Titolo e applicazione meravigliosi. Grazie
Exceeded expectations
Great implementation. Detailed tutorials, lots of features to enhance e solo play and online works great. Graphics are lovely and cannot recommend more - it’s not replaced in person but we are definitely getting more games in!
Crash Crash Crash
Lovely work but Crash Crash CRASH.
Nearly perfect, but annoying
For me, the best digital board game I have played. So much is right about this, in particular how it takes care of fiddly rules so you are clear about what you are allowed to do on your turn. HOWEVER, it keeps defaulting back to easy in solo play and you have to check every. single. time or else you think you are playing a challenging game until the marquis runs back and forth for their whole turn and you feel like you have wasted the game. Please make it obvious what difficulty you are playing before you start.
Just love root
The best app version of a board game out there
Broken since last update with expansion characters
We’ve had to abandon the last three games we’ve tried to play online as it’s keeps just getting stuck in a loop and not actioning or remembering choices. Very frustrating.
Great digital version
Lovingly crafted digital version of Root. Decent tutorials but definitely will help if you have played the board game beforehand. Big miss not including expansion factions, hoping if the game does well we might get a digital expansion as missing a major amount of variety as is. AI is really tough and smart so can get lots of practice in without having to going online. Recommended
Just like the real life version but can be played anywhere
I know 10 quid is quite a bit for a mobile game but this version root is just like the original but cheaper and can be played anywhere also you can solo player on this unlike the real version plus it teaches you how to play every faction in its tutorial defiantly worth it
Crash improvviso
Love this game
Very addictive - asymmetrical factions makes for great replay value.
Grazie
The Mighty Root
It’s ACE!!!!!
Impressive
Great translation of the board game.
