Bugs for years!
I still don’t get why Fryx keeps these developers? Three different studios working on this game and over the years it has had its ups and downs, but it has never been fully up! It has taken years to get expansions made, and the bugs just keep coming and coming and coming. honestly, this app is trash compared to other board game apps. Waterdeep is flawless, but this is a nightmare
There no back button when u make a mistake
Only gripe I have about this game is there no back button. Once u make a mistake u can’t take it back.
Game synch & Timer ruins experience
Game synch is terrible Constantly freezing and crashing You get locked out of games and you’re karma/ranking plummets You all need to do something about the in game timer It’s like a running clock, it takes time away from me when it’s my opponents turn. Many games, my opponent and myself play at the same pace, yet somehow 15 minutes or more ticks off of my time that doesn’t come off my opponent’s time. Why does my timer run off while the opponent is still on their turn? Why does my timer burn off during production phases? Why does my timer run off during draw phase but my opponent’s does not? This awful timer and the constant game sync issues ruin this otherwise fun game
Great game but lacking basic features
This app is a fantastic way to play TM over and over with ease. It could be a 5 star game, were it to add two features that are standard in mobile board game adaptations these days in 2026. Missing feature 1: no “undo” button. Almost all digital board game adaptations have one, but TM doesn’t. Play the wrong card or hit the wrong button? Too bad. This game can be crunchy, and the inability to redo an action can be frustrating at times. Missing feature 2: you can only access your DLC if you are connected to the internet. Preludes and Venus Next are great, but if you’re playing this on an iPad and you’re on the road or in an airplane with no wifi, you are stuck playing the base game only. That is no good; other digital board game adaptations let you enjoy DLC without an internet connection (e.g., I can use all my DLC “Root” factions or “Dune Imperium” DLC regardless of internet), so it’s very frustrating that your TM DLC purchases are only sometimes available.

Great game. AI players could be more competitive.
In game purchases locked in airplane mode
This is a long game, something you’d want to play on a plane ride to pass the time. I’ve spent more on this game than any app I have and it’s pretty rude and unprofessional to lock those purchases in airplane mode. I refuse to believe they need to constantly check whether I’ve made the purchases to keep them live on my app.
Online play desyncs
Overall pretty fun, but some of the ui elements could use some work for clarity. Also, online play locks you at 30 minutes of play rather than an incremental “chess clock”, so builds with multiple actions are punished as you use up more time
Failed games
I want to love this but really have trouble finishing online games. Something always glitch’s. Solo works fine.
Online not working
I bought this app and its expansions to play with friends. Online just stopped working. No update or explanation from developer.

This game used to be great, but now I can’t even start a private game
I can’t gather a private game, and the asynchronous pass and play timer expires much faster than 30 or 45 days, it expires sometimes within half a day, something is wrong and it would be great if someone could look into this.
Great game needs help from the developers
Has some glitches. You have to go out of the game sometimes and come back in to get it to work. Wish my wife and I could play a private game online without the timer. Other than that, awesome!
Buggy as heck
When I first downloaded this, it was great! It is so much more power efficient than the steam versiom (phone doesn’t die as fast as laptop) With every update, the app seems to get buggier. I can no longer use steel to pay for Aquifer pumping, and at least once a save couldn’t load past 75% and I had to throw it out.
Always bugged
I play solo. Basically every "upgrade" breaks something. Steel didn't work for oceans. Ants hasn't worked for many months. Low QA. You will be frustrated.
Great game!
I truly love this game here and on Steam. Terraforming Mars works well as a mobile game.
Broken after Colonies release
The game continues to break even though it’s been months since the latest expansion was released. This is unacceptable.

Buggy and unplayable
When it works this game is fun. Unfortunately, if you try to play with friends and there’s any kind of update between turns, your game dies.
Comically slow load times
I don’t always have time to finish a game in one sitting, and when I try to load it takes more time than to install the game from scratch. On the order of minutes. I have also loaded up games that immediately remove the UI upon load so my only choice is to forfeit. Great game in general but frustrating issues.

No DLC offline
I don’t understand why if I purchased the game and the DLC(twice by the way on steam and iOS) it won’t let me play the DLC with out cell service or wi-fi even if I was just connected minuets ago.

Would be really cool if there were AI players in addition to real people when playing online. Other than that great game
Servers Down
I've had this game for a few years, never had a problem with the online servers and now they've been down for over a week. Local play vs AI is still available.
Love the board game but the app is riddled with bugs
Bought this to play with my family when on travel but the game freezes constantly or kicks players out requiring constant exiting and reloading of the game. The font is ridiculously small with no way to increase it or zoom in making it difficult for phone play. Definitely an iPad game. Lots of other improvements needed on the UI to make this a 5 star game.
Great alternative to the board game

No connection
Lately connection has been no good, I paid for a game all for me not being able to play it
Good app, some nitpicks
This app helps makes a long game more accessible. I like the graphic artwork on the cards. The main downside is an AI that is not smart. I quickly realized that even the Hard difficulty level wasn’t a challenge for someone who has played about 10 games with the physical version. My way around this has been to play 4 Hard bots at once to provide more competition for things in the game and it increases the chance that one of the bots has a great game and beats me. I wish that I could click or press on special tiles to see what type of tile they are. I don’t have all of the corps memorized so it would be nice if I could tap or press on the corp name to bring up the same corp overview that appears at the start of the game. There hasn’t been any issues with game saves but I always leave the game at the start of a gen. No bugs or glitches that I’ve noticed.
Awful
Pay money and games constantly bugged. They fix one and make a new bug. Games been down for over a week and zero communication from the team.
Bug fixes desperately needed!
I love this app and play it multiple times a day. But the latest update has introduced numerous bugs with gameplay and scoring - making it impossible to play the game properly. Need another update ASAP because this is now unplayable!

Great digital version of the game. The AI is not that great, but the game is still entertaining me years later.

Local board game doesn't change
My wife and I love to play against each other on the local setting. I just wish there was a way to randomize the map so we could get some variation.
Great game, but interface needs work
A friend got me onto this game and I’ve found it fun, but frustrating to have to memorize so many things. For example, there are limits on some resources, but not on others and it’s neither visible on the interface nor noted when you try to get additional resources (a pop up stating that you’re at your max, would you like to proceed would be helpful, but even more helpful would be a “MAX” indicator next to the resource). The numbers being above the temp and oxygen obscures the lines and it’s hard to know how many steps are to the next bonus. I turned on “auto turn end” function and got really confused for a long time when I seemingly had no possible moves left and it wouldn’t end my turn, only to find out that the only possible thing was to sell a card…it would be nice to have a “your only move left is to sell cards - would you like to pass until the next generation?” notification. It would also save the other player from having to wait for me to simply pass. I also find it annoying that it keeps putting me offline after a time out period and I have to force close and restart the app to get back online and see my games. This app could definitely use some work. It’s a fun game, but the app is best when you already have all of the game rules memorized.

Very fun game. However my friend and I can’t play together online. You have to search for a player to add them to your friends list first but the keyboard instantly disappears when you tap search. This means I can’t play with my friends. Please fix!

Keeps losing purchases
It seems like every other time I open the app. It’s forgotten all of my purchases. I’m gonna have to go in and restore them before playing. Previous versions have been great, but this is really getting irksome.
Need to invest time but brilliant game
Takes some time to understand the mechanics and easier if you have played the board game but once you understand and master the rules it is really one of the best game I have played. The app is great (and the music is just right for this game) but I wish it would be easier to read the tiles on the board. Tough to find out about a tile played and need to look into the log to see details and not possible by clicking on the board. Also AI bots are not really tough to beat, even if hard level is chosen. The bots will make useless actions and moves as the game progress. They are quite sharp at first but something happens once passed mid game and it gets really bad toward the end. For instance, bots will spend on useless things just to lower MC even if there is no logic in doing so. I am an average player and I have lost just one or twice to AI bots even at hard level. Do the bots have a rule to let you win? I am not an online player and wish AI bots would be sharper. Not yet bought the many expansions for this reason. Board game is still better in my view but I am enjoying the app nevertheless. A brilliant mind is the creator of this game!
New update is so so buggy
New update has so many bugs but the worst one is that none of my expansion purchases show that I’ve bought them. The “restore purchase” button doesn’t work, it’s super annoying. Please fix it soon, I’m so sick of only playing Tharsis.
Game time
They need to fix the time in the online games. It’s a fun game but when it’s not even your turn and your time is going down when there’s another player still playing and collecting resources it’s takes the fun away. I just played a match where that happened to me and my opponent still had 15mins and I ran out of time. So the game doesn’t even let you see what happens at the end it just kicks you out. Please fix your game.
No online access
With the new version the online connexion don’t work . I log in and click on online bottom . Nothing happen
Super Buggy
Broken again… won’t load games anymore… getting real tired of literally never being able to finish a game. I love the game, but the app is SO buggy. I currently can’t start a game with friends… it is like this after every update. Super frustrating.
Toll System Fix Needed
The card Toll system is supposed to increase your MC for every space tag all players have but regardless of the count it only increases your MC for 1. Please fix this. As for the app, it’s a load of fun with great tutorials, you will have to pay a decent amount of money to play with different maps, expansions, etc. so note the initial purchase is just to get you in the door, but a great strategic game with lots of active players for online matches
Pass and Play bugged
Consecutive games bugged when reaching the final round’s greenspace placement on pass and play. The save file is also then corrupted and can not be reloaded. Pretty frustrating when the games were both 1h + Its a great game when it works, but unfortunately can’t keep committing to 1h+ and having no conclusion. Single player has no issues so if you that’s what you are looking for its a good choice
Good game - Tutorial is broken
The tutorial tells you to place a volcano then tells you the requirements aren’t met, so you’re stuck in an infinite loop.
Update blows
I can say that before the update 5 days ago I had no issues. Now constant bugs, windows in the game closing, game cards not working as they should, and online profile not staying logged in. I mean how do you make it worse with an update?

Randomly card actions wont trigger. Have never played a game that someone in the party didn’t need to restart their device.
Used to be fine- now it glitches so consistently you can’t finish a game
Not sure why it keeps getting ‘updates’ that don’t improve the game *and* with each one the app crashes and glitches more and more often. Love the game, used to love the app, but it’s not possible to complete a game anymore because some element gets stuck or glitches (can’t place an ocean for example).
Good when it works, but unreliable when new content releases
It seems whenever new features are released, the game is full of bugs for awhile that literally makes it unplayable. This has been a theme over the years as it seems there is never sufficient development and testing before new features are released. It’s like the company needs the new revenue from the new features to fund fixing the inevitable bugs, rather than ensuring the product is thoroughly tested before release. They should play the Through the Ages app to see how things should be done.
