This magic the gathering like game is fun, easy to learn, And I can play for hours on end. The in game purchases are reasonable and you do not need them to have fun. My whole family plays online all the time and we all love this game. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys simple card games.

Fun, but disappointing implementation
For as much fun as I’ve had playing the games, the writing of the campaigns is pretty uninspired. The card art can be a little rough sometimes as well, and it wouldn’t surprise me if a large amount of it was AI-generated, which is pretty unethical. The enemy AI can be pretty daft at times as well, prioritizing fire gems over stronger market cards. Finally, the way that microtransactions have been implemented is a bit much - permanent class/race unlocks don’t need to use the silly gem system, just put a dang price tag on it! Overall, I wish it was better, and for as much as I’d love to play a druid, I just can’t see myself spending any more money on it.

Good use of $10
This app is fairly lame if you don’t buy the first expansion. I haven’t bought the other expansions yet, but I might in the future. I wish the base free version had a little more depth of play. And/or the card game had a discount code for the app to get one of the expansions
Where is the Druid?
Did the druid get removed from the game? He doesn’t seem to be available anymore in the shop. What am I missing?

Points positifs: J’étais déjà habitué des versions physiques du jeu. Mais ici les ambiances, les voix et les animations apportent réellement un plus. C’est immersif et les musiques ne sont pas ennuyeuses. Pour les nouveaux joueur•euse: bien qu’en anglais le tutorial est facile à comprendre et très vite le jeu vous semblera addictif. La version PvP est intéressante bien que le matchmaking soit souvent mal calibré. Je n’ai cependant pas compris encore si être 1er dans le ranking permettrai de gagner des backgrounds ou autre. La campagne est une bonne idée aussi. Cette version numérique permet finalement de tester des stratégies rapidement, et de se familiariser plus rapidement avec certaines catégories de héros que je n’avais jamais joué. Points négatifs: le prix évidemment. Les héros stagnent rapidement au niveau 12. Puis il vous faudra débourser bien plus pour débloquer de nouvelles cartes, catégories de personnages et pouvoir. Idées: 1) Inclure un compteur de points pour jouer à la version physique du jeu en profitant de la bande son et de l’esthétique de l’app. 2) Inclure un bonus pour les détenteurs des versions physiques. Remercier la fidélité des joueurs ça compte ;)

Great app but gameplay centres too much around discarding cards
I’d rate the app 5 stars for UI, presentation and what’s on offer. Gameplay is sound and intuitive until you play at more advanced levels where good players focus on acquiring the cards that make you discard your cards. Then most turns involving playing only 1-3 cards instead of 5 and the fun is zapped immediately. There are just too many cards and abilities causing you to discard cards. Because of this I can’t really give the app more than 3 stars since it’s caused me to stop playing.
Great game, solid app
If you like deck building games, this is a good one. Enough differences between classes to allow for unique strategies that don’t get old. As for the app, it feels like a AAA experience with good gameplay, good visuals, and great music.

This app is horrible, wish i could give it zero stars. It’s glitchy, the algorithm is F’d, it favors those who pay money to build their characters. Greedy developers = unequal play. Horrible app, don’t waste your time
Une très bonne version du jeu physique
Malgré quelques bugs d’erreur interne, le jeu est très développé sur cette application et cette dernière n’est pas laissée à l’abandon au contraire, on a encore eu une mise à jour en février 2024 ! Toutes les extensions disponibles pour un prix raisonnable, avec des classes et des races supplémentaires qui ne sont pas pour autant nécessaires pour gagner vos parties, un mode solo avec une campagne et un VS IA, et un multi très bien travaillé. Il faut juste savoir s’arrêter, et ne pas tilt lorsque l’âme des cartes est du côté opposé ! 😄
De plus en plus en pay to win
J’adore ce jeu que se soit le physique et celui ci, mais là toutes les extensions pay to win ça commence à me gaver ont peut plus jouer tranquille, exemple y’a une extension qui remplace une carte or du mage par une carte or QUI EN PLUS INFLIGE 2 DÉGÂTS À TOUS LES CHAMPIONS ET JOUEURS, donc franchement c’est abusé et ça gâche le plaisir à force. Ils ferait mieux de se concentrer sur la suite de la campagne en physique qu’on attend depuis des lustres. Mais bon ça reste un super jeu quand même, mais acheter le jeu physique c’est mieux !!!

Do not buy. Play free only (unfair online - Fighter Class is bad)
2/19/25 Update. This game is horrendous, only (wizard, thief, ranger) mostly the latter. Online I only prefer Fighter. I unlocked majority of the other classes. Fighter suits me. However.. fighter is dead in the water whether you choose standard online or low level match where they downgrade you. (You choose this because their horrendous standard system pairs you (a 3 bronze level) against gold, platinum, silver 3 players. You will never get a chance to advance into silver and above because they keep you in bronze (tricking you into buying the gems, to advance) even though you already supported and bought all the expansions (me) There is no way to advance with fighter. Also, the players at high levels have been here for the longest I keep running into them. Highly advise - do not pay for this this game, stay on the free.. unless that what you want to play: thieves, wizard or ranger. I’m deleting and moving on. —————————- 2/9/25 (update) Unfair game (Beware) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ review because of HUGE unfairness in the game: ONLINE MATCHES PURPOSELY STIFLE YOUR GROWTH: On the online matches.. I maxed out at bronze fighter character (level 16). In order to further rank up… and unlock new cards, I need to make it into silver.. the problem, right when I am about to leave bronze (bronze 3) they pair me with gold, platinum and silver players who have way more abilities (buttons around your characters face) THE FIGHTER CLASS IS CRIPPLED: Extremely unfair battles.. as a fighter vs. thief or wizard, it is stupidly unfair. I chat gpt to do further research, and yea it’s known that it’s very unfair uphill battle. You don’t get draw potential like thief and wizard and *those colossal hits* that you can do as a warrior don’t come often.. so your left dealing with wizards & thieves, throwing card draw combos to land enough money that buys the best cards in the market by turn 3. Very unfair. If this is indeed the case, just remove the fighter class altogether from the game. If not.. they need to severely buff the fighter class or nerf the wizard and thief I purchased all the expansions, but don’t think I will support down the road for other the level of unfairness. This game has HUGE potential to blow up, but I guess the devs will only focus on star realms.. and not put proper balance into the weak characters or OP characters and because of these things… leads to the other.. (most likely bc it’s just thieves, wizards & ranger fest online) no variation and because of that… SOMETIMES NO ONE IS ONLINE: For newcomers like myself.. you may think, the real-time matches are not working, because no one is showing up. Most likely because it’s highly favored to the 3 classes I mentioned above - no variation, gets dull real quick and of course very unfair. There are times when I get on and I’m having back to back matches. However, there are more slow days. UPDATE ISSUES: Devs.. regarding your updates… Why must I continuously uninstall, then reinstall the app - so that it can work with the newest update? This has been my experience. Usually, Update the App and you’re good.
Decent
People shouldn’t be allowed to concede in the last couple of rounds. They should be made to watch their defeat and health plummet below 0. Otherwise good game!
App updates every other day
It’s getting really tiring to be locked out of the app every time they have an update. Which is pretty much every other day.
Great implementation but some terrible balancing
This is a fantastic implementation of hero realms. If your goal is to play hero realms, this is the superior way to play it over the physical version and it’s no contest. However, hero realms is already hardly balanced. Some of the balancing and decisions in the campaign just not fun. For example, in one of the purchasable campaigns, there’s a seemingly random chance your money is turned into attack. This is okay every now and then I guess, but since it’s random, I’ve had it happen 2 or even 3 turns in a row, and it’s not even a rare occurrence. This is not fun. Furthermore, on this same campaign, the enemy is often producing 20-30 attack by turn 3. This is absolutely absurd, as many abilities require a threshold of health. The classes are not balanced for campaign play. The wizard is very strong against how the ai works, whereas the ranger is extremely bad, and the cleric would be good if the ai didn’t generate 20-30 attack per turn. All and all, I’ve really enjoyed it, but it’s difficult to fully endorse it with some of the campaign having such unfun elements that take away player agency for no good reason and scenarios that take 30 tries just based on luck. Also, there seems to be some way to select a race for your class, but I absolutely cannot figure out how. I’ve had it happen a few times randomly but can’t figure out how to prompt it.
Awesome Game, keep doing good work devs
Really addicting game, one of my first times playing a deck builder, and I like it a lot. Much easier to pick up and get new players into compared to a magic the gathering. Plus it’s getting a lot of attention from the creators with regular updates and traditions. I wish they took away the gems for purchase mechanics and just sold us each of the packs on waves instead of using the gems to purchase them.

Connection keeps dropping after the update
- black screen on launch - not starting the game unless you press manually on the refresh button - spinner keeps loading after buying cards etc etc It used to work fine most of the time, now I’ve already lost 3 games in a day due to the apps bugs!
Broken
This game is broken. The wizard class is so OP that over half the characters you face will be Wizards. I played a wizard and it was so ridiculously easy to level i got bored. But if you play any other class its very difficult to level against all the OP wizards. Not to mention they get so much clock reset time their turns take forever. It should be called Wizard Realms It seemed to change when they expanded the levels. Too bad I used to enjoy game now its just frustrating

The store says I have purchased this already but when I try to play the campaign it is locked and says that I need to purchase it in the store. Not sure how to access this content. My character is over level 12 so it should work

Physical and digital - great game
Long time fan of WWG. I wish you could play hero realms digitally without the hero’s in custom games. Missing this feature removes a star. Card tweaks only being in discord and not available in the what’s new tab is also a star loss.

Great game, dumb UI decisions
Hero Realms by itself is fun. Having to click past a female gender literally every time I make a character is not. Companies that waste your time on small UI problems that are purpose-built into the game aren’t worth wasting your own time on their products.
Good job
Freeze during card load has been fixed 👍. Good promises of additional content (new classes? Level 13+?) in near future. Mechanics is true to paper card game version but with different campaign (and that is a good thing to avoid a repetition for people owning both). Some gradation between both campaign difficulty levels (easy / nearly impossible) would be appreciated. Recommended game.

Nerf Cleric Please
I have spent dozens of hours in Hero Realms, gotten my friends and fiancé into it, and love this game (get the physical cards too!) But end-game matches against Cleric are nearly unplayable, and have prevented me from purchasing any expansion, or even playing nearly as much as before. All of his abilities are incredibly strong, and the +1 shield for champions being able to be used repeatedly per champion is ridiculous, I frequently see Followers with double digit defense by the end of the match. If Cleric was brought in line with other characters, this would be a 5 star review, but my recent experience has taken a lot of love for the game away unfortunately as online play at high level is a massive slog and playing against Cleric just isn’t fun :(
Awesome game
Wonderful game with a well-done app and UI! Great fun to play. The calls to arms expansion is enjoyable, with great cards, and that campaign is highly entertaining (and easier to beat than the hard campaign in the base game).

Needs more content
This game has so much content that could be released but they haven’t done so yet. Took me a day to burn through the campaign I wouldn’t recommend buying it. Hopefully more gets added soon.
Missed the boat? Disappointed.
I paid for the Kickstarter. Now the beta app no longer works, but I appear to be locked out of all but the free version of the game. Unwilling to pay again for the app.
Fun game, but bug and balance issues
If you enjoyed Star Realms you will almost certainly enjoy this game. Two big complaints though: The game is quite buggy. It crashes not infrequently, and today for the second time in a couple weeks I am getting an error that I need to download an update to play online, but no update is available. The campaign mode is fun at normal difficulty, but hard has not been well designed. It’s not hard because you need a lot of skill, it’s hard because you need a lot of luck. If you don’t get the perfect cards to win, many of the hard fights are unwinnable.
Best of the best
Not only is this the best deck building game of all-time, but the digital implementation is gorgeous, easy to use, and extremely addicting. The game has an active, vibrant community around it, with many skilled players, community tournaments and events, podcasts, discord servers discussing strategies, etc blossoming with it. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate and download this game now!
Turn timer
The turn timer needs to be reduced- it is exhausting sitting and waiting for a player who runs the timer down, plays a card, gets more time and does this over and over turn after turn the amount of games I have just left because you are wasting time is wild. Please fix this so players stop abusing this turn timer system.
More online players
The game is fantastic but I wish you could play more online players then just 1 and play with more friends

Would be alright but people just sit there and never do anything so you are just stuck doing nothing. Add a timer to turns.
Too many bugs
I had to stop playing this game due to all the bugs with the app. When you look for a game, it doesn't always start the match when the queue ends. You have to restart the app and by then you miss your turn--which means you have less time on the clock for the next round too. For a PVP deck building game with a rank system, this is a huge failing. I tried my best to get to Diamond level but all the bugs keep crashing my rank by throwing my match away due to missed turns.

Hero Realms is a highly polished game that just happens to house the best deckbuilder available! If you love card games, the choice between PvP and Co-Op play, and a highly competitive online scene, you will definitely love this game. An asbolutel steal for the price!
App Gets Worse With Updates
It's gotten to the point where you literally can't play the game without internet which is ridiculous. Every time it automatically updates, it won't let you play unless you download new packages in game unless you disable ALL automatic updates and manually update EVERY OTHER APP on your phone, and yes this is the OFFICIAL DEVELOPER SOLUTION for this... Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
Compelling use of excellent mechanic
Great additions to the star realms mechanic with the addition of hero character types taking on their own low value cards in decks, and adding a more cohesive persistent character based augment skill tree. Feels a bit less balanced then star realms with less value in sac cards over life gain or discards. Perhaps I just feel different about certain colors and their balances are effectively the same. Worth some time if you like these build-as-you play form card games.
Love the gameplay, pay characters are too OP
I love the gameplay and how it works. But you might as well quit the game if you are going against a pay character when you are using a free character class. Their special moves are too overpowering. If you concede against the payed for characters and only play other free character classes the game is fun.
