Super fun and very balanced game
Never heard of this game before I downloaded the app. It took 4 or 5 plays to figure it out but now I’m hooked. Try it, you’ll love it!
Brain World
Please get rid of Brain World, completely unbalanced card and is basically a I win button. It’s a race to who ever gets that card and who does has a 99% chance of winning. It’s to the point I just concede the game the moment someone takes that card. No strategy is needed when getting that card. Please -lease remove it from the game!!!!
Good but
It is fun but I wish there were free expansions
Love the game but…
The app was great until some leadership hit his head. Now I need to log in in line to pass and play. Constantly keep restoring purchases on the same device and the game glitching and hanging when starting without internet. I love card game and mobile game, but the hardship to even start the game that have arrived with latest update just a top of incompetence in UX. Please do better.
Online Play Needs Work
I love the base game; it’s great. However, the online play needs to be tweaked. Too many people just run out the clock as much as they can which ruins the gameplay. What should take 5-10 minutes of fun, dynamic gameplay turns into stagnant boredom by clock dwellers.

Amazing game!
Game ruined by bots and AI!
Have literally been playing this game obsessively for more than 8 years. Had a solid 55% win rate as an experienced player. Now the best i can muster is 40% over the course of as many as 150 games! Somewhat overnight this game has been taken over by bots and players using AI. This game has been my absolute go to for killing time and taking a break. So frustrating. Avoid wasting your time!
Great port of table game
It’s a great port and good way to learn the rules so you can play the tabletop game well. As a digital game it’s a bit lacking. After awhile it gets boring playing with 1 deck forever.
Still crashes
Now instead of black screen it just crashes when you open it

I’ve been playing for a while. It is a good game. But I think ranking are broken. I’ve been at level 5 forever and even though I win games, the needles don’t move. Otherwise, good.
Long time realmer first time rater
I nannied an 11 year old boy who taught me the card version. Then a few years later I played it a lot in the pamalamademic before realizing there’s an app!! My husband and I play it daily and I love it so dearly I’m reviewing my first app ever.
Strange changes after update
After a recent update, I’ve lost the ability to use expansions in my online games, and I’ve stopped getting notifications when it’s my turn.

“Fix” made things worse
Update to fix the black screen bug has resulted in the game straight up crashing and closing on startup for me every time. Can’t submit a bug report in the App because it won’t stay open, so here I am. Great game, but these are the types of bugs that need to get caught before release.

Played this game loads but recent upgrades stop this app working properly when offline. Have paid for various packs so irritated. Great game when it works properly

Great Game. Lousy bug handling
I love the game both physical and digital. I cannot recommend it right at the moment. It currently crashes immediately after I turn it on. This followed after a long period of dark screens. The dev team must not have a very robust QA. Breaking something that was working requires special skills and a failure to keep backups. If they can get it working again I’ll give it 4 or 5 stars. I was playing all the time.

Intolerable bugs
Game started getting a black screen. That was “fixed” with the recent update…which just immediately crashes now. Really cool game, but I guess I will stick to the reliable offline card version.

Not sure why, but this game keeps crashing upon opening. Also in QuickStart matches, I often miss miss a turn or two due to zero “start” alerts.
Enjoy the game, latest update won’t even start
I like Star realms, bought an expansion pack recently to support devs and go a little deeper. But the fix that’s supposed to stop the black screen makes it so the game won’t even start now for me. Crashes immediately every time I try to open it. Please help!

The several updates to fix the black load screen not only didn't work, it made it worse. It just crashes as soon as you open it.
Fun but not perfect
Love all the expansion decks and weekly “arena” games. There are some bugs lately that force close the app and the only way to play is to remove the app completely and redownload the game. That is quite annoying.
Love it
Bought the frontiers base game IRL because I’m hooked on how the fun this is. I endear the strategy and alternative ways to play, e.g. if I go heavy defence and resources, then later I will chose new ships and scrap lesser ones to pivot into a crazy offensive and protected deck of ships. Going to get the online version so I can join tournaments and access more of this :)
Latest update crashed the game
I spent 33 years in software QA, and simply cannot understand how the latest update ever received release approval. After deploying it on an iPhone 16 and my iPad (an iPad Pro with the M4 processor), Star Realms crashes every time I open the app. This happens every time, so it’s not an elusive issue. It doesn’t matter how good a game is, if you can’t play the game. My one-star rating remains until the app works again.

Very simple to play, very fast. With deck building ! Illustrations are a bit weird sometimes but it does the job
Updates changed balance
Had the game for months. It was fun and balanced. Recently it seems the AI has been given magic draws — the randomness for the AI isn’t so random anymore.
Updates have made it worse!
Following the blank screen problem, I would have to open and shutdown the app several times to get it working, which is frustrating. Now they say it’s fixed and it crashes immediately on opening! I can no longer access what I paid for :-( Also feel the cost of extra levels is quite expensive.

Great app to pass the time or challenge your brain to try new strategies. It’s nice to have the expansions available. I enjoy the pass and play feature to play with my kids and husband.

Very good game if you are willing to pay for expansions
If anything just buy the very first one to be able to play online. You will get one free arena entry weekly allowing you to experience the other expansions free of charge to see if the overall game suits you or not. I'm slowly starting to see a value to buying the next one, the single player campaign is challenging and fun. Give the free version a try for sure.
Frustrating
Do not bother with the expansions if you want to play the campaign as it lacks any balance. You are entirely dependant on luck in situations that incredible stacked against you. Even when you do win it never feels like you’ve won it just felt like that game stopped cheating.
Plays well
The game plays very smoothly and well. My biggest complaint is the AI has a very obvious thumb on the scale (cheats) making it feel like each match is pre-determined.
Great Game
I’ve been playing this over a decade. Excellent game. Architects are thorough and it’s continuously updated with new chapters/missions and cards. I love the arena, offering one time avatars for accomplishments. The foil cards are reasonably priced too if you don’t happen to win one, they are offered in the store to purchase. I still look forward to playing this game almost every day.
Turned to junk
This app hasn’t run reliably for months with continual updates, breaking changes, monetization releases, and days or weeks of being unable to launch the app. Case study in how to destroy an app.
Decent time killer
Sometimes luck overwhelms the strategy but each play-through is like 5 or 10 minutes so the replayability is high and you basically play “for the good games”. An added bonus is that the game does not drain the battery too much. It’s less demanding than youtube by far. The in-app purchases are mostly expansions which can add to the game but the “core set” that comes with the app for free is acceptable. You are also restricted to single player vs. ai only on the free version, but it’s fine for learning how to play and seeing if you like the game.
Good game, misleading "full game" IAP
The game is pretty good, however the "full game" purchase is pretty misleading. Yes, it does say that it doesn't include expansions, but the expansions cost $54 (minus one cent per IAP), providing you a total of 25 chapters in the game. Meanwhile, after buying the "full game" you have access to 3 total chapters. 3 chapters out of 25 is not the "full game"
Good but with a lot of frustration..
The challenges in campaigns are so hard. And I wish there was some kind of undo. Sometimes I screwed a very good game because of a misclick while reading an ability. Also, an option to control the AI speed would be great. I’d love to see what my opponent does and analyze it.
Great deck builder
I was gifted a hard copy of this game and liked it so much I bought a huge expansion. Definitely easy to spend a lot of time on because the game play is so fun. To me, it is like dominion but more fun because of the rotating “market” and ability to attack each other.
Fails on Launch
Update fails on launch. Removed the app and reinstalled, worked first time. Now fails on launch again.
Consistent disconnect issues
Ive been regularly fetting game losses because the app loses its internet connection and I get "timed out" or Lost results, losing my matches. Not great when you are competing in the arena or playing tight games. This isnt an issue with my ISP or Wifi, it works extremely well. This problem has only been getting worse lately and my wins vs losses record has been impacted enough I dont feel like bothering with it anymore, Arena that is, because if i lose a match that way its money lost (sometimes) and a failure to achieve rewards that take alot of games to gather again.

Le jeu est tout simplement le même que le jeu de carte; pas de surprise là dessus donc. Perso j’adore le jeu de carte, est l’app est fidèle Ce qui me dérange c’est que tout est payant Achète l’app, achete des decks, achète les campagnes et même les chapitres des campagnes Niveau vache à lait je trouve qu’on est dans du haut niveau. Je suis étonné qu’il ne nous facture pas l’oxygène qu’on respire quand on joue a l’app. Le multijoueur demande des crédits, crédits que bien sûr vous devez acheter dans la boutique en ligne. Franchement l’aspect paies que tu paies que tu paies que tu paies est excessivement décevant. Je peux comprendre que je paie mes decks comme dans la réalité, mais pas pour du multi; faut pas abuser à ce point. Pareil pour la campagne; 5,49$ pour 1 chapitre de campagne, faut arrêter le crack les gars
Mobile app is hard to use
Great game, however... it is super hard to read the cards on your phone, it seems designed for larger screens. Also, it would be really nice if there was an undo button, at least when playing against AI. Often, I accidentally buy a card without meaning to and it is frustrating when you can’t take it back. Overall, not a great app, but still a fun game.

Game don’t pass turn online
Hi I already made a review, game is awesome on pc but in iOS version, on online play is simply doesn’t work, turns are not alternating and game is stuck on my turn ... when I clicked on End turn button this one change to Next game , I can go back to menu but game is stuck, it is s shame that this important bug that made online play unplayable isn’t corrected anymore and make me lose 2 won games !!
