Amazing game
I play board games every so often and have been getting into mobile board games. This one caught my eye with it being free and it’s an awesome game. They give you the base game that you can play easy and medium ai but if you want any other expansions or features like a campaign you pay for that but getting to play this game for free is an awesome deal! I’ll more than likely buy the full game though.
Added unstoppable ads after being paid for so
They added in unstoppable video ads to this game. Will never use again, wish I could get a refund. Terrible business practice, absolutely unacceptable.

It’s a really good game that really represents genetic selection and these species by the watering hole trying to adapt to their surroundings and it’s pretty simple and I really like it. It’s a really good recreation of the North Star game Evolution
Very irritating to use
The game looks very nice, but your cards are hidden. To read them you have to tap each individual card to read it, then its immediately tucked back out of sight. So if you’re trying to decide between a card, the screen is constantly flickering. It’s like a graphic designer who has never played a game designed the app. Please make it so you can actually see your cards and read them…all at the same time. On the positive side, they actually made the text side readable unlike a lot of apps that make it light grey and italicized.
Good game but targeting isn’t random/equal
It’s a good game, very enjoyable but a lot of the games have 4 CPU players and it seems like they don’t target equally, it feels like they target you more than each other. It feels like a 1 vs 3 team up.

way overpriced, rigged ai, boring, repetitive
Base game has almost no content, full game is $10 when it should be $1. Ai will sandbag to let other ai win over you.

I was playing a boss fight and it was so HARD it was not me it was the game and I am disappointed because my mom wasted her money on a in app purchase and it didn’t work 😡🥺😭

Extremely disappointed
This should be an awesome app. The game is great; the app is gorgeous; there was a lot of effort and detail put into it. I wanted to give it 5 stars. However, this app is constantly crashing when on airplane mode or not connected to the internet. I tried to play on an airplane and the app crashed nearly every round. Moreover, I got logged out, so I couldn’t continue my campaign or use any of the features I paid for. Also, the app goes out of its way to say that they promise not to spam you with notifications, but I get one every night.

I gave this game a star already because even if you can do a move if you have a carnival, they won’t let you which is so weird. I’m so mad. Why don’t they let you cause I was seeing horrible and it wasn’t letting me eat it with my carnivore, so weird I really wanted to eat that and after that I got so mad that I hit my bed and I said I hate this game right now in real life it’s fun I don’t recommend if you get the five dollar one but I haven’t tried it so maybe you should but probably not I tried the classic ones are terrible like you can’t attack every thing. This game went from having booming potential to falling flat
This game was so good before the update. Multiplayer was gaining momentum and a community of competitors was forming - one with an array of players employing their own strategies. That all went away since the latest update. A BIG reason is the change from the minimum 3 players to start a game to only 2 players + AI. this just made games a more glamorous version of playing by yourself. I was way into this game and now I’m out. I’ve seen this same behavior with a lot of other seasoned players. Please change that back
If You Like Board Games, Get This
I’ve been a fan of the physical evolution game series, and this game is just as fun, and has the benefit of being usable anywhere and having exclusive features. I love this game!
Can’t get into game.
When I open the game is wants me to create an account or skip, but neither work. Hitting “skip” does nothing. Entering my email and password works, but hitting “create account” does nothing. The “login button” works and takes me to a new window, but that doesn’t help because I don’t have an account (and out of curiosity I entered the user and pass I previously typed and it said the account didn’t exist). The “create account” button works in the sense that if I don’t enter an email or password it says I need them, but once I have them and hit “create account” nothing happens that I can see.
please give us the option to turn off tutorial
i’ve played this game a few times and i normally just run through the campaign. it’s a fun game, i just wish we were able to turn off the tutorial
Good game but is bugged out for me
Game is cool and introduction works well as does the training, but the point when training is over and the game asks for my name the game will not proceed any further. On iPhone.

I got the base game and climate bundle BUT I ONLY GOT THE BASE GAME no climate your game is a scam the only reason it even gets three stars is because it is a fun game to play

I love the game but I wish you could see the creatures as they evolve and change not just when you have carnivore or flight or blah blah I wish you could really see your whole creature like when it has antlers you see them
Game breaking bug
Can’t play, when I try to create an account it says to verify my internet connection (which is working) and if I skip the login, at the enter a name step it says the same thing

Very buggy on iPad
I’d love to give this a good review but unfortunately there are so many problems playing on my iPad Pro which have persisted a long time. I get a hard crash once or twice per online match, and many UI elements don’t scale properly to the iPad screen size. E.g. I can’t see the score after a match because it’s covered by a chat panel. It seems like the app hasn’t been tested on iPad.
Hidden kill button?
I like the board game and the played the app a few times. I never can remember how to close the app though and have to go searching so I can resume using my phone. I deleted the app after struggling with this a few times.

Full of bugs
Going through tutorial, asked for my name, but taping button it will not let me advance. No errors, no way to back up or go forward, just stuck. Swiped up and started over. Had to swipe up and start over. Going through tutorial again, got to carnivore level on tutorial again…this time I get 4 cards, play 1 for food, 1 for new species, 1 for trait, 1 to increase size to 2, but opponent is size 2 and the game will not let me go forward saying my opponent is size 2 and my carnivore must be larger than 2. How? I’m stuck again. It will not let me go forward or explain how I’m supposed to get to size 3 with only 4 cards. Had to swipe up and start over, again. Got through tutorial! Playing campaign, and the second round first watering hole it my turn, it won’t let me play my herbivore, my carnivore cannot attack more, I ate 2 and the 3 opponents remaining are my size, so I should loose one population…but the game will not let me advance or go forward…it won’t accept me ending turn, it only lets me attack but I cannot, so I’m stuck, again… Deleted the game!
Not enough players
Honestly it’s not a bad game, can be confusing at first, but the campaign can teach you how to play. Downside is there are barely any players online, and you have to buy expansion packs to play multiplayer. The create a daily challenge feature is pretty cool,the artwork is great, and it’s fun once you get the hang of it, but like I said just never anybody online ( I’ve played random times throughout day/night and only ever saw at most 5 other players online). Why would I spend the few bucks to get new cards, if there’s rarely anyone to play with?

Only works if you have internet connectivity
I wanted to play Evolution on a flight, and when I opened the app in airplane mode, I only saw a black screen. I restarted my phone in a long shot effort to fix whatever issue the app had, and it loaded this time - without my IAPs. I tried to play the Climate expansion and the app directed me to the store to purchase it (I already had purchased it). Presumably, the app wants to verify my purchase by reaching out to North Star servers, but that can’t happen on an airplane. Giving 1 star for requiring internet activity to use the app.

Excellent Board Game Style Strategy
Update: sadly, the amount of disconnects and poor stability of this game make it literally unplayable (iPhone X) Fairly complex strategy, has a bit of a Settlers of Katan feel. Still a lot of bugs though, often freezes in multiplayer or crashes at least 50% of the time. The ELO world ranking system is extremely broken. There's also an issue with the high rank reward skins, they don't seem to show up on multiplayer.
Great game. Battery-drainer par excellence
It is a very good, stylish, strategic game. However, I’m playing on a 10.5” iPad Pro and one game drained my battery by 25%. That’s a bit much.
so good it basically ruins the real game
i love this board game but it has the same flaw that many boardgames have which is a tedious scoring system – the app does all the work for you and it’s so fast and clean that I don’t really want to play the physical board game anymore – plus you get to customize your game and always play with your house rules so another bonus of the app

Good but buggy
in some aspects and lots of the content (cards) is behind a paywall. There is an extremely annoying bug where if I double tap the bottom of the screen it kicks me out of the match I’m in and is extremely annoying when I try to check a card and I end up double tapping🙁
Family sharing not possible
Game looks fun, but since the full game is an in-app purchase, it cannot be family shared. I am not paying 4 times to play with my family. Noooo. I would have bought it otherwise.
Good game BUT
A good adaptation of the game, but the very unnecessary 3D board not only slows down processing and animation dramatically — the cost of developing it also drives the in-game purchase price up tremendously
Bricked
This game fails at the Create Account screen, can't create an account so I can't play the game. There is a workaround by going through the tutorial but if you skip the tutorial you can't play. Update: Thanks for fixing the bug! Fun game!
This game will break your phone
I enjoyed this game until it started causing my phone to restart every few minutes and every time I delete it, it “mysteriously” redownloads itself. This is a glorified virus, definitely do not waste either your storage or your money on it.
Why no AI in multiplayer?
This is a great game and the app does a great job of everything … except allowing you to add AI players in multiplayer games. So you could be stuck playing two-player which isn’t nearly as much fun. Developers, get on it!
Crashes very frequently
It is really hard to rate this game. It’s a great game, but it crashes. A lot. It crashes everytime I win, and never crashes when I lose. It is so annoying. Sometimes it saves before it crashes, but the majority of time this doesn’t happen, so I hardly make any progress. I have to replay the same level (campaign) over and over indefinitely. Really hard to recommend right now until they fix fhe crashing :/ Update: Now it’s crashing when I lose too :(
Campaign mode save not working
Game works fine except one major flaw. In campaign mode the game doesn’t properly save progress and you continuously have to redo levels that you had previously finished when you come back into the game. Please update the game with the save progress fixed.
Wish I could play more
Only complaint is that this isn’t that popular so finding other people to play with is a lot of waiting hoping for a match. When I get on,often I see maybe 1-5ppl online. Love this so much so excited that flight has been added.

I read the rules and still don’t understand the game and every time I end a game and want to begin a new one, it freezes.

This game has a good interface, plays well, the AI is decently challenging, and the visuals are lovely. Unfortunately, it also crashes a lot.
