A Solid, Precise App
I cannot notice any pixellation in brush strokes when drawing or while zooming. And, I think Drawboard achieves this without using the native apple pencilkit, as I’m able to freely configure the brush size to any degree, and the default brush has a unique pen pressure weight response that I really quite like. I also really like that there’s a fullscreen view that hides the rest of the screen. I haven’t experienced any lagging while writing or scrolling, even on scanned pdfs with hundreds of pages. The only small issue I’ve noticed is that when initially zooming while pinching, there’s just a slight pause. But it’s a very minor thing and not noticeable most of the time. It also does heat up the bottom edge of my particular iPad a tad. But for how amazing it performs and looks, and how stable it is — and most of that for free… it’s absolutely amazing. Thank you devs.

Also edit the sort button on the mobile app as the pc app, and allow to download the files from the cloud probably as the current is awful.

App is not working after recent update
Drawboard app got updated to latest version on my iPad and after that app stopped working. When I open the app it got freeze on blank page and nothing happens and after some time app get killed
Always Getting Worse
I started using this app around 2022. It started off great. I don’t need a lot of features, and it still has the right amount. I open PDF sheet music to mark up for my students, and it does this job. Now let me get into how it has increasingly got worse… When I first got the app, it remembered I liked it snapped to the left of my screen. It also let me exit books without relaunching the window. This was soon changed in an update. It always goes center screen at an undesired resolution. I have to constantly put it back to where I went it, and resize it. Later they also had an update that kept the app crashing. I ended up briefly switching to a different app. I came back when another update fixed the crashing, but now it can’t remember my pages 50% of the time. Which is super frustrating when I have 50 students per week, working on books with hundreds of pages. Luckily I write down the pages for each student, but I still have to scroll to them. This app used to make my workflow better, but lately it hasn’t been holding up. I wouldn’t be upset if this is how it always was, but I’m not sure how they are continuously making the app worse. I wish I could go back and use the first version I had, it was perfect. Alas, I’m stuck with the newest lemon they’ve produced.

Used to be a good app
Unfortunately they seem to focus more on making money than the actual quality of product. Removing existing features, the toolbar slot and forcing users to pay the ridiculous subscription fee just ruins the product. I would rather have a paid app instead of subscription.
Overall, great
However, it likes to sign me out fairly consistently. While not exactly breaking, it’s really annoying. Other than that, I do enjoy the Mac version of this.
Replaces Pen and Paper Cọmpletely
No more printing out pages to mark up. This app has made my workflow 100% paperless.
Terrible interface
I’m not sure I’ve ever canceled a trial subscription so fast. The icons are incredibly tiny and they don’t even have alt tags when you hover over them. You can’t tell what anything does until you click on it. The app won’t stay maximized and the pdfs open in a new window rather than tabs. Did I mention everything is incredibly tiny? Eat your carrots before using this one.
Quick
I have to markup multiple map PDFs everyday. Drawboard is definitely the most stable and quickest program I have found to do this so far. Very easy to use once you get used to it. There a few features I wish it had, like original text editing , Form Creation, etc. But very good overall for annotations and markups.
Good for notes often with weird issues
For the majority of the time, the app works great, I used it on my Laptop before getting an iPad and had some issues but were minimal here and there. However, when there are issues, it either doesn’t make sense or its significantly frustrating. For the first part, there is absolutely no good reason to upload to the Drawboard cloud. For whatever reason, they decided to limit many functionalities for files that are uploaded. The two biggest ones I remember before removing them all from the cloud were you cannot add new pages and you cannot rearrange pages. DO NOT UPLOAD TO THEIR CLOUD as of now. Use OneDrive or Google Drive. The second part is more frustrating. Every now and again, all of my work won’t be saved, I go back to a document and will find that everything I did in my last session completely gone. This is really annoying because I use Drawboard to take notes in class. Finally, it seems to be a coin-toss on which tools you can use and which you cannot use. I have the Pro-Lite version I believe and its enough but for whatever reason, moving something to the background or foreground requires the next version. Why are there so many different subscriptions? Why is one thing included but a similar thing not? TL;DR its good but there’s some quirks you need to be prepared for and don’t upload to their Cloud unless you want to lose some functionalities.
Good app but pricing too high
A smooth app for PDF reading and annotations. But the premium pricing is too high. No lifetime plans. Need student friendly pricing for India. I'm studying in a govt. institution thus I don't have any student mail ID. So, I can't use student offer. It's better to reduce your plans according to the countries. (Ignore grammatical errors)
Great for Students and Educators
Annotating lecture slides and textbooks is super easy. Perfect for digital note-taking and study sessions.
Glitchy, not compatible with IPad at all.
Not usable at all on iPad Pro. Gives you a notification every time you open the app or document that you need to upgrade, tools intermittently work while others don’t, hassle to do anything the app is made for and complete waste of time. Have given it 2 semesters now.
Solid Architectural PDF Markup Tool
I am still vetting all of its abilities, but for those looking for an alternate to Bluebeam on the Mac, this is as close as I have found so far. My main issue is the Mac version is a port of the iPad version, which still needs a lot of clean up and attention to Mac specific menus and features, but for now it is enough to make a reasonable workflow.

The old version was better. Seems like their focus now is trying to find reasons to justify an increasing subscription rate.
Mac Version Needs Work
I’ve used the Pro Plus edition of Drawboard now on two separate projects, involving marking-up a check set of Architectural drawings. I’ve used BlueBeam in the past but they no longer support Mac is I no longer support them. Drawboard feels very clunky to me. There is no marquee zoom tool (a fatal flaw) so you have to keep hitting the +/- buttons along with panning to move around a drawing. There also should be a single click to “fit page” like almost every other pdf editor I’ve used. The various tools are selected from microscopic icons that lack intuitive graphics to describe their function. Using call-out notes has also been problematic as the positioning of the notes and leader lines can change when you close and re-open the file, causing you to reformat your notes. The responsiveness of trying to drag an object to a different location is poor. I have yet to figure out how to drag a copy of graphics or notes. Copying and pasting a note from one page to another changes the position of the note instead of allowing you to paste “in-place”. These are all very basic features of any graphics editing program and the fact that they are missing indicates to me that Drawboard isn’t prioritizing improvements.
ALL TIME Favorite PDF Application
I have used Drawboard PDF about since. I have used it for around 2 years & I continue to use it. It is one of the first applications I download whenever I get a laptop. I use the free version, but it is enough for my university school work! I will probably use this app ever after I graduate honesty! I like it that much.
NO GOOD - Think twice before getting this app
I’ve had enough with this app and its development team. The engineering team clearly lacks an understanding of what makes a good, simple app. It crashes frequently, and most updates only rearrange features instead of actually improving the product. Core functions like page manipulation, handwritten recognition, and stable OneDrive syncing are still missing or broken. Customer support is slow to respond, if they respond at all. I’ve been patient, but nothing has improved. The issues remain unaddressed despite repeated complaints from users. Unless the developers take real action, I cannot recommend this app. Think twice before getting it.
Please add a feature: Automatically align to the page angle
Please Add an option to configure whether the “Ink to Shape” feature for Pen and Highlighter automatically aligns to the horizontal or vertical angles of the page. This would make it easier to draw coordinate systems or straight lines more accurately.
Love/Hate Relationship
I use this app daily on my classroom Viewboard. It’s AMAZING…. when it works. I absolutely love all of the features and the design of the app, overall. Here’s the issue… every.single.day the app crashes! Sometimes multiple times in one day. I’ve used this app for a few years now, and none of the updates have ever fixed it. There are 2 types of glitches/crashes: 1. In the middle of writing, the pen will stop working and leave a little blip of a mark on my screen. If I change colors and go back to the original color, or use a new color altogether, it will work. But I’m left with that little blip of a color on the page for the rest of the time I’m writing on that document. 2. Complete crash. Nothing works. In the middle of working absolutely fine, zilch, nada, then blue screen of death…. SO FRUSTRATING! I don’t know why this can’t be addressed in an update. I’ve tried emailing the company, even sent in videos of what happens and then the email responses stop. I’ve tried several times. The only good thing is when I finally get it working again, my work is always saved. But sometimes it takes 5 minutes to get the Viewboard to finally respond so I can close close the app and restart it. It’s honestly maddening!
Good but lacking
I have had some issues when sharing what others can see what I have written or drawn, the images don’t line up or over lap each other making it hard or unreadable. The collaboration should be seamless and there shouldn’t be issues when downloading or printing that plagues where the images are clear and concise. The only other issue that I have found is I do not being able to change the shape of the highlighter from wedge to round it was changed in an update and users were not given the option to change to their particular preference.

There is some problem with the latest verison, it stops in between and then the file doesnt open at all

Syncing causes the los of data
Careful if you use the sync function. Had written on a document without internet at a meeting and when it reconnected to the internet it reverted back to a blank document.

Why does the iOS app direct me to an external website for subscription payment? Why can’t I pay using my Apple account on an iOS device?

Opened my wallet and I never even hit the button for the trial
As I said my wallet was opened with their info before I even hit the button for the seven day trial so I never hit it. I used force quit on my wallet and deleted the app, I just hope the deletion got everything. If not I’ll be back.
Folders/categories
The app is perfect but I wish we were able to arrange files into folders or categories, it would make the app much efficient, other than that it’s wonderful.
Lags on iPad mini 6
For some reason this app is extremely laggy on iPad mini 6 but it performs not too badly on my surface. If you resize your writings the app may even lag and crash losing whatever you have written in the process too.
It works fine but it’s been crashing a lot lately
Not really sure why, but the app’s been crashing on me, causing me to lose all of my work… otherwise I really like the features that are on Drawboard and I can conveniently transfer things between my iPad and laptop.

How do you add a new page???
Please make it more simple to add a new page. I’ve been pressing everything under the sun to see if it’ll let me add a new page and I can’t find anything. A simple feature like that shouldn’t be hidden away. It’s an otherwise perfect app, I just really need that feature to work. EDIT: so it turns out, the add page function IS easy to find. Only major issue is that it is only available to local files, not cloud-based files. I was working on a cloud file so it did not give me the option. Once I realized I couldn’t add a page, I decided to just export the file and start the work on another app, but the export PDF had issues. Many of the words/lines I deleted were showing on the export PDF. I had to delete a bunch of stuff and start from new which wasn’t fun when I had an important deadline to meet. Overall I probably won’t be using this app again until these issues are fully ironed out.

Excessive Crashing and Deleted Progress
I get nervous using this app; although simple to use, it crashes in the middle of my note taking on documents quite often. Typically, it saves the data from right before the crash and everything is fine. Just tonight, I was handwriting my own notes on a blank document with another crash happening. I hop back on thinking my notes will still be there like usual, but it had deleted about an hour’s worth of my handwritten notes. I’m devastated and now have to find time to do the notes all over again in the next few days in between my other school assignments and exam. I want to love this app, but it’s obviously got some bugs and issues that need patched. And not being able to rename a local document is kind of irritating considering there’s only a 10 document limit for Cloud uploads…
Find / Search text option missing.
1)Please provide the find / search option for the text. 2)There should be an option to select customised colour set in the place of default colour set when I want to change the colour of highlighted text. Currently the default list has default set of colours and it’s a tiresome process to change it to a particular colour each time. 3) Have the google drive access available.
Efficient for marking up and highlighting PDFs
I use Drawboard PDF to highlight and annotate drawings to confirm all changes made, all items captured, etc. It works very well for this purpose and response is quick even on large PDFs.
not functional
Wanted it to work so bad. Cannot use eraser without glitching out existing writing, but the glitches don’t even appear until after you’ve exported!!!!!! Now the app decides it won’t even open, completely crashes, and I’ve lost all my work🙂
A bit too complicated for what I need
It’s got tons of features, but the operations of sketching and marking gets a bit complicated as the results.
There is a bug in the file save upload export options menu on the top sidebar
I have been using drawboard on my windows pc as well as ipad but on my ipad i have noticed the bug the whenever we try to open the option of save upload export on the top sidebar of the application it opens and suddenly disappear. And it keeps on happening no matter how many times your try to open the top sidebar options menus and it is happening with almost every app.
Lagging
I used installed the app on my ipad and I can’t move stuff around cause it takes around 2 or 3 minutes to process the change and then let me write again. Please fix that, it’s making me waste a lot of time when i just want to resize something or move it around

Now, for the second time, Drawboard has not saved my updates to a document, causing me to have to revisit a site and re-create the design. Hours and hours lost.
Can't open PDFS
I can no longer open PDFs, it's asking me to save them as duplicates but never opens the file.

App crashes and doesn’t sometimes autosave the edited document. Please look into the issue.
Was the best until new updates
Paid for more than seven tools and is a monthly subscription, that’s just defeated the reason why I use the app. Exporting with flattening is also not available without paying. Has been crashing very often since recent updates. Was a 5 star app before all these changes.
