Shady business practice
Trailforks used to be a great app even if you used the free version. So much so that everyone started to use it and it was THE option for adding and finding trails. Then they completely gutted the free version of the app and made it unusable. They increased their prices a bunch as well. Seems real shady
Pretty cool
I love this app, makes trail riding so much easier, especially being able to know where I am mid trail. Absolutely loving it ✨
Ridiculously complicated
Way over the top. Just need a map that is easy to see.
Yet another subscription
Maybe the pro subscription is good, but it’s almost unusable without it. I’m just not willing to sign up for yet another subscription. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Good maps
Good maps stay up-to-date regularly doesn’t make you fill out a five paragraph essay to track a ride has a really good community behind it
0 customer support
This is indeed my favorite mtb app out there, I've been using it for years. It's great, until you have a problem! Recently my app stopped working and saying "user has been deactivated" when I try to login. I have tried everything to login or reset my account, even tried to set up a new account which gave me a different error. I have reached out multiple times on 3 separate occasions for assistance from customer support. I receive an email with a ticket number indicating that they have received my request and will be in contact soon. I never receive any follow ups. I have reached out multiple times and always receive the confirmation email but never ANY support or solutions. If quality customer service is important to you I would look elsewhere.
I wish you could do more without the pro
Better than the other apps, but I wish you could do more without the pro and not pay a lot of money every single year but it’s right. The free ones are also good.
Money grab
Okay I am about to straight up delete this app. I made an account, but app is unusable without paying a subscription. Part get shaved away more and mor over time. Now you can’t see elevation profile or even use the search bar.
Good, But hard to read
I’ve been using Trailforks for years and love it, but somewhere along the line the labels for the trail systems stopped scaling properly when zoomed in. If you’re in an area dense with trail networks, they become impossible to read and when you zoom in, the labels disappear altogether.
Best app for MTB
I used to pay for AllTrails but since I am using the app mostly for MTB, I prefer Trailforks
Navigation sucks
I wanted an Apple Watch app that had a map function to help navigate new trails. This failed. No turn by turn alerts or instructions during routes. No audible or haptic notifications for upcoming turns or notifications for being off route. Frustrating to say the least!
Great app, a little pushy about premium though
I have only ever used the free version, but it has a lot of great features. While all the trail details are not available offline, a general map is, which has saved me more than once. Overall great app, even in the free version
New map planner on desktop is terrible
Ride planner was fine and works great . The new design is terrible , with half the window with a useless dialog window and unable to draw and drop marker no matter how hard I tried

This app in pro version is basically useless. If you use on your phone it will cut out when you dont have coverage which is almost every MTB trail. If you try to use it with a bike computer like a garmin edge it wont synch. When you subscribe it constantly asks you to “renew” your subscription and even then it still does not give you the pro features.

Simply put this is a wonderful app for navigating the mountain bike trails around where I live in Watham County Washington
Canceled renewal took away 10mo access
I bought a year subscription, then canceled the renewal with 10moths remaining and they block access to all the pro features that I paid for, scummy setup.

Ride logs not showing
I’m finding myself wasting way too much time trying refresh the app and getting recent rides to show up in the activity history. There’s no manual sync option either so it’s just a frustrating experience.
Does the job
It works great for searching for trails in different areas. But hard to create routes to use later. And it doesn’t integrate properly with other devices and rides don’t get uploaded to trailfork.
Best of the best!
My goto for mapping trails.
$54 a yr and the app doesn’t work
You would think when they charge you $54yr the app would actually work and not freeze up and the updates would fix that issue

Unfortunate
Trailforks was always a go to for the mountain bike community, but it has fallen on sad times. The crux is that it is a community platform built by the riders, so if they aren’t here contributing the app is useless and the constant price increases mean there is no one to keep it alive. If you are going to charge for the app as a service then it is incumbent upon the company selling the app to keep it updated and relevant not the people paying for the app. Unfortunate.

The only thing I did not like is that the trail ratings are off from the ones at the map at the trail.

Price to high
The price is too high for the quality of the app. I have noticed certain features of the app are not working. Seems like the quality has gone down
Force Closing
I don’t use this very often, and for some insane reason I pay for this thing. I was just trying to look at some trail centers in the app and it kept force closing. I also pay for Strava premium which I’ve already canceled, but my subscription runs through July. Don’t make me go back to them.
More useful features than you can imagine
This is by far one of the most useful apps that I have ever used. I am a bit biased being a mountain biker for the past 35 years with industry work and racing in my past. The many ways this app has used rider curated data to elevate and facilitate the sport of mountain biking is mind boggling. Well done gang. I cannot do enough to support this app and it’s creators. Mountain biking has fueled my life and Trailforks has super boosted the ability of riders to explore the world of mountain biking. Hands down the best apps a rider can put on their phone!
Pro ads are crippling
This used to be the go-to app; the intrusive “buy pro now” ads make it unusable. I’m not opposed to buying apps (am an AllTrails Subscriber) but this feels obnoxious. Will delete instead.
Okay but needs improvements
A mostly great app but it needs upgrades to how the maps display. Vehicle roads either don’t show or don’t have names but many people use roads to orient themselves and connect trails. Please upgrade this!

This app is of course the go to trail reference but the other features like route creation and organization need their UI updated badly as they are almost useless in the app and only slightly more useable in the website. When pink bike owned it and the subscription was cheap, this was all understandable but now that Outside owns it, it seems like an update should happen.

New Apple Watch app randomly crashes
I’ve been using the new Trail forks app since it was released. I like the metrics it displays. However. At least three times the app has crashed or closed by itself mid ride.
Expensive unethical.
We used to be able to access basic functions for free. I regularly submitted photos and reports, created a few trails. All this was done by folks voluntarily. Now the same people have to pay, even to access the information that they brought to the app over years. Only use this if you’re willing to pay the full subscription. The free version is an ongoing advertisement…
Can’t sign in no point having
What’s the point paying so much for sun and the damn thing signs out when you need it. The current slap in the face is can’t restore subscription. Why why pay over $50-$80 a year if we can’t use it????
The must have app for every mountain biker!
I used Trailforks for a few years now, mountain biking all over the US and parts of Europe. I couldn’t think what it would be without… and don’t want to think about it.
really bad route planner
i want to use this but its unusable using the app to make routes. also i used a computer with a mouse pad and its also awful. im not gonna go sit in a desk with a mouse. will try to use other apps instead…. this one is terrible
Function well
Had lots of functions and it works, but the UI is not 2025, not so user friendly and sometimes I'm lost in it.
Loyal user going to abandon ship
Will not reliably sync ride logs, is totally confused because I have Trailforks pro but not the outside membership so I get error messages all the time. Am sure this app is going to be discontinued because users are likely leaving for the alltrails app because it works.
Trails galore
I think this needs a voice turn by turn would be handy like google maps.
