Really good app
I like using it around the city and even in whistler … easy to use and I get discounts .. I love the way it opens the gates automatically at pacific centre then just emails me the receipt … so cool.
Worst App Ever for Parking
They force you make an account and have the worst interface for entering payment method etc. Will never use this again
App difficult but staff wonderful
The app is difficult to use and I ended up getting double charged. But Melinda was a wonderful support and was able to give me a refund. Thanks for the help!
Alarm: “Your Parking Is About To Expire!”
Then on the actual app: “You have 11 hours of paid parking left plus 6hrs free overnight.” Which is it?! Completely unreliable warnings seem designed to always extract extra payment. Other frustrations with this app are less specific to this individual company; probably inherent in the parasitic, predatory nature of paid parking, especially in urban centers like Vancouver. Still more convenient than walking to the lot when time is about to expire?
Not great
I haven’t actually paid for parking with it yet, but when entering vehicle license plates, the states aren’t quite in alphabetical order. (Many of the states beginning with M are below O. It’s just weird.) Also, perhaps the graphics are a little soft and low-resolution?

Predatory user interface, double confirm trap
The app has two separate 'Confirm' pages. If you hit the first one and pocket your phone, it doesn’t process. Got a ticket because of this deceptive layout.” Easy park denied my appeal because I didn’thave proof of payment. I even sent them the text message from when I got to the lot to meet my girlfriend where I saw her in line to use her the machine and I said “use the apps to pay, I do it’s easier than waiting in line.

Bad UX
I was forced to move to this app because EasyPark no longer works. Easy Park was bad but usable. ZipBy is bad and less usable.
Didn’t work and then got very poor customer service
I downloaded the app. Used it to pay for parking but got a ticket anyway. Phoned the ZipBy customer service line and was basically told ‘too bad, deal with it yourself’. Addendum Juan (a rep of ZipBy) got involved on my behalf with the parking authority who gave me the parking ticket. Eventually (about 2 and a half weeks later) it resolved and the ticket was cancelled.

Absolute scam
They add a $3 “ZipBy Convenience fee” when you pay a parking ticket. Just pay on the website instead and avoid their convenience fee. Are Indian scammers running this app?! EDIT: what a disappointing response… Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I have decades of software engineering experience, so don’t give me the “supporting this feature involves additional technology and operating costs”, especially not in the AI age. You saw a place where you thought you can charge extra, so you added a “convenience fee” knowing that most people won’t pay attention. But it’s actually an inconvenience. I paid the fine on the easypark website and I didn’t even need to create an account, unlike your app where you inconvenienced me to create an account. Even if I pay tickets often I can create an account on the website too, so there is 0 value add from ZipBy in this case. Paying a parking ticket is always an annoyance. Perhaps that’s not the best time to think about charging your customers additional fees.

Takes forever to figure out lies that you can use interact , and ive gotten tickets after ive supposedly paid my parking -IT SUCKS .

Badly designed app. Also charged a convenience fee for using the app to pay an easy park ticket, which was the only option on the ticket to pay. And then the app redirected to a website to pay so didn’t even use the app, so why a convenience fee for the inconvenience??? Crazy!

Good when it works; fails often
I use the same credit card all the time. About a quarter of the time, the app fails to successfully charge my credit card. I try again and the card works. The map feature is helpful. If not for that the app would get 1 star.

This app has literally one job and it doesn’t even autocomplete, let alone allow me to copy and paste a credit card number properly? How did this even get approved?
FAQ is not correct
It says that you do not need to open the app to get the arm to go up upon entering the garage. Yesterday it didn't work at all. This morning I had the phone literally sitting on my dashboard and it didn't work until I opened the app. Now I'll get a phone usage while driving ding from State Farm.

Amazing app
My first time using the app and it worked perfectly. So easy to get In and out with no hassle. Would highly recommend!!!!
More expensive than the physical kiosks
Registration was not quick and easy. The parking sign said Apple Pay is an option on this app but registration still requires a credit card input and you cannot skip the step. The worst part is that this app charges around 50 cents convenience fee and if you use the physical kiosks, it doesn’t. So physical kiosks are cheaper.
Glitchy and sketchy
Why do I have to turn my location on? It also makes you search using the location code, so why do I need my exact location. Even with location on and the code, the app would not find the lot I was parking in had to restart it.

A very convenient use of the app when parking. Did not cause any trouble in getting in and out of the parking location. 10/10 a highly recommended download!
Faulty app fails to send alert and timer top up option
I took my baby nephew to the Vancouver Aquarium lot#62 in Zone#3696. I tried multiple cards to purchase parking, however the machine wouldn’t accept any of my cards. I had to purchase through Zipby. They charged me more, but I was managing with an infant and needed to get out of the rain. So I paid the extra charge for one hour with Zipby. Fully trusting the Zipby app to send me an alert when the parking was about to expire. After viewing a few exhibits with the baby. I opened the app to check if I needed to add more time. However, the ticket purchase or time was nowhere to be found on the app. The app did not show the purchase or an option to add more time. In a panic I cut the visit short, but my nephew needed a diaper change. I quickly changed his diaper and we rushed out to the car to find a parking fine for $70 and if not paid immediately it would go up to $130. After spending $100+ just to visit the Aquarium for less than an hour I also have to pay $130 additional because ZipBy broke customer trust. The app was set to send and alert to notify me to avoid this happening. The app was supposed to allow me to find the ticket purchase and add more time. I will never use Zipby app ever again, and I will be disputing the fine.
Not impressed
Payment hangs and stops. Got two tickets before I learned that I have to wait and make sure I get a email receipt. Even when monitoring, takes two or three attempts to pay.
Convenient app
This is a convenient app, easy to use and navigate. Make sure you set the time as well as the date when booking. If you’re having difficulty, it may be that your phone is outdated. The support offered is outstanding and queries are replied to and resolved quickly and with ease. Would definitely recommend emailing as the support staff are excellent
Terrible app
What an irritating app. The worst I’ve experienced. Buggy, needlessly confusing, obtrusive and obnoxious.
Confused & Double charged
The ZipBy app itself is fairly simple and straightforward to use. However, when traveling in Vancouver at the start of July 2024, the lot/parking garage was a “test site” and had no postings or in-app directions about how we should expect the account to operate or charge us. I pre-paid in the app for the duration of our stay specific to the lot number; however, each time we left the garage, it charged my account for the elapsed time since last entering - it did not take into consideration that I had already pre-paid. I submitted a customer service ticket asking for a refund of the pre-paid transaction and have followed up with two calls. It’s been 4 weeks and the refund has not been resolved. ZipBy seems to have potential as a really great and convenient parking service but hasn’t figured out their customer-minded communication or service tactics.
