Nursing student
Honestly love, the fact that I don’t have to sit down and read all of my study guides and review notes. I just have this payback to me constantly and go over all my medical terminology stuff that I cannot pronounce so this is lovely.
App is garbage
The app crashes when trying to add correct pronunciation. Download doesn’t work. Subscription cancellation is almost impossible to do (had to go to the website). Do not trust the reviews over 4 stars, they are bot reviews. Not to mention the company responds with “please reach out”. Well I have and no response.
Great but a few tweaks would make it easier
I love this app. It is so good and the voices are so clear. I typically listen at 2 or 2 1/2 times speed and these voices are actually better than the real audiobook. However, with that said there are a couple improvements. One they need to add a start and stop button and they need to add an addition to Apple CarPlay. These seem like easy fixes because they’ve already completed the hard parts, but the app will start and stop and make it difficult to return to where you stopped and in the car the only way you can listen is through a workaround with your Bluetooth. so please take this next baby step and make this a truly exceptional app.
so. damn. inconsistent.
trying it out after a while and it’s somehow worse than it was before. full of bugs.
Voices great. App rubbish?
I want to love this app. In theory it’s great. Voices are great. The UI looks ok on face value… but the player constantly vanishes? Or the text vanishes? I want to subscribe but what is all of that about?
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love this app. You guys are the best on the market. Keep up the good work. Keep up the good work
Scam!
Extremely and nearly impossible to cancel. DOOO NOT DOWNLOAD. This company is dishonest and misleading.
Very good but collection
Hey there Ive been very impressed with the audio quality. The paywall doesn’t really surprise me much. But when I add an audio book chapter by chapter it doesn’t allow me an option to sort it out. So if I add it as 1 2 3 4 it comes out in the collection as the most recent add. Like 4 3 2 1 I would like the ability to change the collection either by date or chapter added. So I won’t have to listen a book from the end to the beginning. Thanks.
Not unlimited
I’m an avid ebook consumer. Without unlimited reading time, this app is definitely a no-go.
Favorite app BUT
This app is amazing, but every time I update it, the format changes. I like having the contents tab in the bottom right, and it just disappeared and there are several more steps to jump back to my spot. Also, every time I exit the app, my spot gets lost. Also, there is no place for me to input new pronunciation. Very glitchy! Will update rating once corrected.
Hola
Lo mejor la verdad me ayudó mucho ❤️
Do Not Get the “Free” Trial
I downloaded the app and got the “Free” Trial. Eleven Reader sent me a notification that my trial was up in 1 day. I went to cancel the membership, and they would not let me delete my payment information. I signed out, and my card company notified me of a charge for $106.92 from ElevenLABS.IO. They declined the purchase and canceled my card, thankfully. I had to call and explain what happened, which I find sketchy on Eleven Reader’s part. I deleted my account immediately, and I will not ever use this app again. Zero Stars if that were an option. Do not recommend.
i’m confused help please
i don’t know if i’m stupid and doing this wrong or if there’s something wrong with the app because i have my book opened to chapter 10 and i click on the audio book for chapter ten and it’s reading something from a different part of the book. is the audio not synced with the book chapters? and im doing something wrong? i’m confused, please help!! the book im trying to read is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath by the way
Text not show up for Epub
I upload my books and now the text does not show but audio still plays, it even does this to old books I redownloaded and have already listened to on here.
Drops connections
Often, even when I have Zishan Internet connection to stream music, ElevenReader claims I am off-line and will not play anything
Top Tier Accessibility Tool
In my opinion and from my usage, ElevenReader has proven to me to be a top tier accessibility tool, especially for people who have ADHD, but want to or need to read longer form content. The AI voices are actually good, though could still use some improvement, and the price for unlimited readings from hundreds of voices is very reasonable. After searching for a long time for good text to speech reader, this is the one I’d actually recommend to people who need one.
SCAM
I do NOT recommend this app for listening to audio books. They are a SCAM. I signed up for Ultra unlimited, but the time always runs out before you can finish a book. I purchased a “ten hour” pack with 4 hours left to my book, but with 41 minutes left to the book it stopped playing and said I needed to purchase more time again. HOW. Do the math! This happened to me twice. When you try to talk to support, they make it impossible to reach anyone except an AI bot and when I submitted a claim for help, it just gave me all these error messages saying I didn’t have an account. Again… how is this possible if I’ve actively been able to buy and listen to books? Obviously I have an account! But they won’t connect me with human support because they can’t “verify” my account so I can’t even ask for help. This app is a total scam.
Didn’t even try it before deleting.
They want way too much personal information to even try it. Why do I need to create an account and give my date of birth? I went no further after that. Deleted the app.
❗️Potential Agenda in the Free Content Selection❗️
Within my first day of using the app, it appeared to function as advertised. However, I noticed that the free library seems to lean toward a particular political/religious viewpoint. Although I didn’t select spirituality as an interest, I was shown numerous Christian and biblical books, all political books criticizing the Democratic Party (including at least 10 specifically on Obama) or memoirs praising Donald Trump, and titles questioning the legitimacy of autism and transgender identities. So, a warning to users: the free catalog seems to be far from ideologically balanced. For those who are curious, the other main topics covered in the free selection were business & self help. Also, when searching for literary classics (as I could only find Jane Austin and available within the free selection), books such as Fahrenheit 451, the Catcher in the Rye, and the Handmaid’s Tale were unavailable, even for purchase. Remember to consume mindfully, and make of that what you will 🤷🏻♀️
Wonderfully realistic speech, Constant Updates Improve/Regress Usability
Why are the reader controls constantly changing? Now we’re stuck with sleep schedule and soundscapes, which are the 2 buttons I’ve never used. Search & contents are the ones I’d use, and selected when we had a choice.
Simply. Incredible.
I use it for everything now. So natural, so versatile. Love it!
Immediate Paywall
As soon as you create an account you immediately run into a paywall. Yeah, you get three days free, but I assume that is after you have already submitted your payment information as they say the subscription starts billing $99/year after the three days. Nah. Went right ahead and uninstalled it.
Okay
Okay sometimes glitches. It’s good overall. Quite pricey considering Claude and other gpts can now play responses audibly. I don’t think this reader does a much better job than Claude, so it doesn’t justify the price in my opinion
Works.. UI is buggy garbage
Can’t believe they charge money for premium when the UI is full of bugs. Constantly skips around losing progress of what you were listening to when you pause. UI jumps around with tons of bugs too. If they are making so much money why can’t they make buttons user-friendly or even work properly. Why does the book start instantly right after the import? Just let me listen to what I want instead of forcing me to pause every time I import something… it’s not hard to make 2 buttons for something intuitive that people pay money for.
Keeps freezing/crashing
Keeps freezing/crash when I try to pull up the search bar to find text on my uploaded PDF
спасибо
пожалуйста, пусть ии понимает русский. спасибо вам
Free is a lie
The app mandatorily makes you choose a $ price plan. The advertising and other reviews are lies
Good but needs a bit more attention
I like the app and use it regularly. The only problem is every new release breaks a part of the app. 😅
No download?
I get download on my Android, but can’t download on my iOS. That was kind of the whole point for me subscribing.
Hard to navigate
The app is hard to navigate. It’s not intuitive. The table of contents keeps disappearing. You can’t move around easily. And I’m paying for this?
OMG
I just found out ElevenReader now can read my books on KU “Kindle Unlimited’. I swear I almost wanted to cry. 🤣. My self care to myself is reading. This app has allowed me to immerse myself into the books. I Looove this app!! So worth the money!!
Useles app and useless customer support
Useles app and useless customer support
Better publication navigation
There is only one thing stopping me from subscribing to this app. As a blind person I like to be able to swipe through long publications by heading or section, enabling me to miss out items that I am not interested in. in this app you have to go into the content manager to pick a heading which is great but doesn’t allow you to swipe through while the whole publication is reading out an app called Voice Dream reader is able to do this but it’s voices are very poor compared to 11 laps.
Keeps crashing!
Pissing thing keeps crashing when I try to upload a PDF
Speed control
Loses track of location and can’t control speed
Language learning tool
I principally use this for language learning so that I can read, listen, and shadow the materials and it is one of the best tools I’ve used for this purpose.
Scam not Free
Ads says it’s free but not don’t download
aa
Thank you for responding to my feedback and implementing improvements. In-text citation processing is better but still not amazing. Have changed by review accordingly.
Frustrating
Quality of narration seems to have degraded in recent months with frequent stops, mispronunciations and general oddness. The bigger issue though is their policy on generated content and customer service. I have received a warning with no information about which file has been flagged or on what basis. After requesting manual review I received a suspiciously robotic confirmation with an actual excerpt and a link to the violated rule. Needless to say the algorithm didn’t understand the context and neither did the supposed human. Be careful as some of your high school required reading might get you banned.
Pronunciation correction needed
I like my narrator although I was hoping for accents such as an Asian accented British narrator. So ESL. And I would love to be able to Correct the pronunciation of the names of my characters
Admirable & reliable quality
I am currently enrolled in the monthly subscription and I am very pleased with the cost and value for my access to ElevenReader. I have listed to a handful of books so far and it has been great to be able to listen while working and maximize my time while still enjoying literature.
Heard was free but is not
Heard through their commercials on YouTube that they are advertising free but when I sign up it asks me to pay. I hate when apps lie like that. Free is free but don’t charge cause that does not fall on free. This app is basically like audible where you have to pay to have unlimited access to everything or not pay and have access to very little this to listen too. I am kind of disappointed, as a bookworm I do like listening to audiobooks but am tired of relying on YouTube for free audiobooks because they don’t have all I want to listen too and audible is too expensive (I think $15ish).
Fantastic!
It’s so good to be able to listen to all sorts of different mediums. Just wish the price was a little lower.
What is this pricing model
It charges you per hour you want to listen after the trial, what kind of a money grab is this
Really good
I have had some issuses but over all good I’ve noticed when I import pictures off my books it sometimes add random words or just complete random nonsense but over all helps when you don’t have time too read your book
EXCELLENT app!!
This seamlessly connects with your Kindle and turns it into audiobook, not to mention your ability to turn obscure texts only available in PDF online into an audiobook highly recommend.
Ads ruined it
This was a cool app and since they introduced ads it’s very buggy. Probably will just vibe code my own replacement. Thanks though. Still buggy, horrible experience.
I’m loving this app but.
I love this app so much the Ai voices sound so realistic not robotic at all but I’m having trouble importing ebooks that I’ve purchased on my phone to eleven reader for them to read them out loud it just read out the description please can you help me please 😊
It’s good reader, but lags and bad in technical ways referral flaws they don’t care
Well, the reader is OK, but it sounds sometimes Robotic it lags a lot, and the main problem is the referral and they publicize it to be one year, but that is in the case. It is just to lure in more people I have been assigned 7 hours in total with 5 hours extra coz of referral e did that go cann u please check the bug I thought its valid for 1 year but can’t see that happening im better of deleting this account !!! Please accept this user request if you have such flaws why would I pay for future things
We’re not all Aussies or Yanks
You definitely need more voices from the British Isles! Welsh, Scottish, Irish and English!
