Better than Speechify!
I’ve been looking for an app like this ever since Speechify became too expensive for me. Unfortunately, this thing I love most is its ease of use. Much better than Speechify in this regard. Speechify often gave me problems when trying to play new books, Peech gave me no such problems with any ebook or Kindle book that I tried. Peech has worked first try with every book I have tried, and even the voices are better in my opinion. Peech picks up and reads until you tell it to stop. Speechify would only play a page or two while playing in the background, Peech played the first book I tried, and it played perfectly from prologue to epilogue, 8 hours later. I can’t recommend Peech highly enough. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
Ripoff
First, I sent a req for Peech to Explain what I’m paying 29.00 Per month along with the books I download to listen to then I get a message I’ve run out of points?? Never heard anything from them! Not worth it! I’m the one actually paying for everything!! Do not charge my bank another dime!
Fun to listen to books I have in my e-library.
Would like more choices for narration. I like a smooth, kind, confident, strong, soft voice - a female voice and a male voice.
My Listening Minutes Expired
Believing this to be true and finding limited voices, getting message didn’t surprise me. Prior to this notice I was thinking of rating the app a 3 or 4. There is no explanation of the limit. Just give us more money. I had to cancel because I felt like I was being held up. So this is where Peech turns into the pits.
Great reader
I LOVE LOVE the reader. It is fantastic. I do have to have a back because it’s so very expensive If you read every day as I do you have a minute limit Charge a set price with unlimited time pleased
Customer service
Great customer service and fast response.
Shady business
Apparently there is a limit to how much you can listen but there is no information about it. I got an email several days later saying, “sorry were could have told you”. Don’t use this app!
Amazing but…
Genuinely good app, you’re not behind bars you don’t wanna pay. I’m only concern is being able to edit text. Personally I think it would be a nice touch Summarized: good app, nothing is paid for (I think) but I wish you could edit text
Disappointed
The app doesn’t download the books correctly at times and will periodically just pause for no reason, it mispronounces lots of words and skips ahead at times. Also, after paying a monthly service and extra for additional voices, half way thru my book it came up and said I was out of credits and would need to pay more to continue to listen to my book. My disappointment is that all of this could and should have been disclosed before initial purchase so I knew what I was getting into.
Too expensive
It reads my books pretty well, however, you have to pay every 3000 minutes, sounds like a lot of minutes, but it’s actually not when you think about it. $14 everytime, on top of your monthly. If you only listen to one or 2 short books a month, then it’s for you. Essentially you pay for your book and then pay peech too. Same price as audible at that point
Excellent
The app helps me a great deal. It’s worth it.
Bait and switch
Beware Peech leads one to believe the top tier account has unlimited credits. It doesn’t. If you run out and want to continue listening you have to buy more credits.
A bit of a swizz really
I downloaded this app as it imports my kindle stories and I can listen while I work, £45 for 12 weeks, I though ok I’ll give it a go. My subscription only ends 22nd sept 26 and I have been told today I have ran out of reading credits and I’ll need to buy more!! I have a subscription so why would I have to pay more? Apparently you get a set amount of hrs in this subscription, NOW THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I will not be renewing
Credits
If paying monthly subscriptions, should be able to have unlimited. Only reason I even subscribed.
Annual premium plan is NOT unlimited
The Critical Flaw: The Hidden 1,000-Minute Cap. (16.6 hours) Despite marketing its Premium plan ($19.99 monthly or $99 annually) as a premium upgrade over its highly restricted free version, Peech does not offer unlimited listening. The Cost of Minutes (The Top-Up Trap). Once you hit the 1,000-minute monthly limit on your $99 annual plan, Peech locks your ability to import new files and forces you to buy digital "minute packages." The pricing for these top-ups is high and operates like an expensive prepaid phone meter: The Rates: Purchasing additional credits can cost anywhere from $4.99 to $9.99 for small bundles of extra minutes. The Cost Per Book: Because a standard 300-page audiobook takes roughly 8 to 11 hours to read aloud (around 500 to 660 minutes), importing just one extra book after hitting your cap can easily cost you an additional $10 to $20 out of pocket. The True Annual Cost: For heavy users, students, or avid book readers who process multiple documents a week, these top-up fees completely destroy the value of the $99 annual plan, easily pushing the real yearly cost of using Peech well over $200 to $300. Bottom Line: Peech wins on aesthetic "vibes" and minimalist layout, but loses on transparency. It is a highly capable tool for occasional students or casual article-readers. However, avid book listeners should stay away. The hidden text limits mean a heavy reader will quickly find their expensive annual subscription frozen mid-chapter.
Zombie book revival
Peech has allowed books that have lingered in my Kindle library to come back to life with a new shine.
Subscription price then have to buy credits to listen
I’m very disappointed with this app- I had to pay 99.00 per year for a membership & I now have to buy listening credits on top of this? This is a bait and switch app- I listen to one book then I have to pay to listen to another book- ridiculous!!!
Read or listen
I really like this app. The different voices that read the text for you are awesome. You can slow down or speed up the speech process to your desired level. I really would like if the app would sync across all devices and a place keeping button.
Monthly cost triples if you read 2 hrs a day,
I just subscribed to Peech and liked it . Two days later I am told they failed to communicate that minutes were no longer unlimited. Only 1000 minutes a month with the subscription . If I read an hour a day that is 1800 minutes. The cost of buying 1000 more minutes I means the subscription monthly cost doubles hello I will be cancelling my subscription plus I just found if I get calls on my phone I have to manually restart the reading. Inconvenient since i use earbuds and phone is yards away. I also suspect it is doing it for text messages an even bigger issue..
Voices
You pick a voice but it’s always changing while you are listening. I picked a woman but half the time she speaks with a Chinese accent. Sometimes even tutting into a man’s voice.
Actually does as advertised!
I love this app. It will, as far as I can tell, read anything, including all your Kindle books. I canceled my subscription, nevertheless, because it is $30, after the installation. Too expensive for how much I’d actually use it. Maybe later when I have more disposable income.
Dishonest
When I originally got this app, I loved it. I purchased the year subscription of unlimited books. I listened to several books over the course of a month. Then Peech decided to change there unlimited to a 1000 credit a month which is equivalent to a book a month. I paid for unlimited and they should have honored my year subscription. They didn’t care and just said sorry. This app is full of glitches from skipping sections, switching voices and curser delay when reading text along with audio. I do not recommend this service as they’re dishonest and there are better apps out there for the same price. Very disappointing.
Terrible narrator
Like listening to a robot. I’ll stick to audiobooks thanks. Absolutely awful
Great idea, bad delivery
So this is a great idea because audible doesn’t always have kindle books available. The problem lies with the AI. What with a monotone reading and common mispronounced words, taking one word and making it two makes the listening extremely difficult at times. But when the reading flows it flows well and it’s a joy. So if you can muscle through the tough terrain it’s not a bad reader. I’m sure they will upgrade the AI at some point though. One more thing, they’ve changed the amount of listening you can do significantly for the same price. I signed up for a year and probably won’t renew.
I’d love this app, but
After the second week of spending of 6.99, (that’s $28 a month) now I have a limit on my reading time and they want more money. Never mind, there are other apps that will read to me. Mark me disappointed.
Great Support
I had some questions and reached out. I received fast responses and some positive solutions.
Credit system is terrible
Subscribe to get the app. Now pay more to actually use the app. It’s just a money grab
Not unlimited
Though the adds say premium gives you unlimited audio, what you actually get with premium is 1000 credits per month. Each credit equals one minute of audio. If you run out, which I did in less than a week, you can purchase more minutes. I feel that this is false advertising, and for the amount of audiobooks I listen to, I felt it would end up being too expensive for me. I would’ve rated them lower, but the audio is excellent quality, and they were easy to deal with when I contacted them about not getting unlimited. Within 3 business days my money was refunded, which impressed me.
Cost
Price change made the service pointless for my ebook reading.
Update - After 1 month&1 update
I still love it but for the cost its SUPER BUGGY. I drive A LOT and also WFH and it will randomly pause at VERY annoying times and yes, I always do an update when that happens and as I am writing this it DID IT AGAIN! Oy avey
Customer support
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. So appreciated.
Changes plans
I paid for unlimited monthly service to read back my open work not they changed to points. I’m out!
Initial trouble but good support
I initially purchased a special offer order that I thought had worked but didn’t so I did another one. Then I realised the first had gone through and I had paid for two within a very short space of time. I contacted support and they refunded the first payment. I like the app, the voice is artificial but I knew it would be and I happily accept that as it’s nice to be getting round to listening to my kindle books when driving rather than them just building up. I will redo my subscription when the time comes.
The good, the bad and the ugly
Good: Purchased Peech and loved it. You can choose between several voices which is nice. Bad: Sometimes the audio would stop for no reason but you can close it and reopen, no biggy Ugly: they charge $19 a month which is okay however if you listen alot, which I do, you can run out of minutes and have to purchase more on top of the monthly fee. Not good at all
A decent voice but…
While the voice I settled on was decent, it was often far too flat to provide any emotional reflection of the story. It also often drops words so scenes are interrupted. I look forward to seeing whether I might find a better voice for another book. Regardless, this is a relatively strong text-to-voice app solution.
Nice App
Nice app it helped me a lot in my studies.
Disappointed
There was no time limit when I signed up
Voices
Criticized the lack of voice options in the past, but they’ve improved recently. Looking forward to them adding more but it’s a huge improvement.
Not bad
I was expecting to be able to catch up on more than one or two books a month. They have a credit system where each credit equals one minute of dictation. It does import your Kindle library very well. I was just expecting to be able to listen to the books without a monthly limit.
Doesn’t always work
I like the app when it works, but quite often mid read it will just say ‘Sorry, can’t play this item right now’. Usually I can close the app and re open it, but laity that doesn’t even work. Right now it’s doing that to three different books, super frustrating.
Cancelation Request
Very good support. Quick action.
Got Greedy
Great app, but they sneakily ditched their unlimited plan for by the minute pricing. No thanks. As good as it is, the new pricing structure is not worth it for the serious audiobook worm.
4
Really good app but not a fan of the robot like voice and it said a lot of words in a weird way
Okay, but better apps out there
This app is good, but you only get so many credits a month, and have to purchase more until the next month to keep listening. Also it has a male voice for the title and then one female voice after that the whole way through. I’m an avid romance book reader generally with multiple points of view through the story and if you’re not paying close attention you get lost easily in the story. Also it can’t read two and three letter words like at or sat, it spells the word out. Sometimes doesn’t read the word correctly like wound (wound around a tree) would be wound (like an open wound/lesion). And I read romance, so imagine other words. The import and download is seamless which is great, very easy to do. The way it plays in sections so you can go back short distances is great as well, sometimes a little slow to move on to the next section though. I know it’s a work in progress, but at this time I feel there are better apps out there for cheaper.
Time
This is a great app other then the fact you need to pay to use it after 5 mins you guys are money hungry could at least wait 7 days then I would have probably payed
Once I got a real person (G) thank you
Was having issues with technology gone wrong and getting double billed & not able to access account to cancel. I tried to contact multiple ways with no headway. I got a response from a fantastic angel of a customer service person and got my refund. I will try PEECH again a later date.
Watch out!
Not only do you have to pay $99 a year, but you only get 28 minutes of reading time a month, so if you want to listen to a 12 hr book it will cost you!! Wish I had seen that but luckily ran out of my allotted minutes before my trial was up. Needless to say I have stopped my subscription!
There is room for improvement but it’s good.
I wish we could choose exactly where we want it to start since we are paying for it but it’s a good app.
Wanted to love it
I really wanted to love the app. But I listen to way too much many books and $17.99 a month for only 1000 minutes is not nearly enough. Plus I don’t like the narration and not being able to change the voice.
Application
Vous devriez crée une version gratuite de cette application sinon elle est bien
