What people like
- Very affordable compared to competitors
- Fast and smooth performance when it works
- Excellent customer support team
- Reliable for accessing computers remotely
What they complain about
- Click and drag features often stop working
- App freezes or crashes during use
- Connectivity issues despite being on same network
- Recent updates broke previously good features
Good for a free temporary wireless monitor replacement
I got this app after I broke the screen on my laptop, and it is free, easy to use, and works for when I need to use my laptop on the go. It is a little laggy, though (at least the free version is), so I wouldn’t recommend this as a permanent fix unless you have some patience.
Too Laggy. Not worth the purchase
Too slow and complicated. Definite not a good fit for iPad to Mac
It works very well most of the time
I use the free version at home. This is very helpful at home when I want to compare things on two machines in separate rooms, etc. But occasionally the service on the remote machine stops running and then the connection fails. The message that comes up implies that you need to upgrade to the business version. The actual solution is to go to the remote machine and restart the splashtop service.
screen freezes every 10~40 minutes
I reinstslled streamer, replaced ipad with newest one, updated its OS, waited for maintanence, still no fix. when screen freezes only sound plays on still image so I have to close the app and restart
When it works it’s great!
Sometimes it’s flawless and I love it. Sometimes it tells me I’m not on the same network as my computer and I definitely am. It does this for two or three days and then suddenly starts working again. It’s not a TCP issue and it’s not a firewall issue. The tech guys at my school can’t find anything wrong. Eventually it starts working again.
A Hidden Jewel
I almost don’t want to leave a review because others might catch on to this. I do use Zoom for meetings and have used Team viewer in the past. Splashtop Personal has indeed helped me so much access my devices remotely and I’ve used it for over a couple of years now. My primary use is mostly from Pc to Pc because from Mobile to PC the controls are hard to handle, that’s only on emergency to view things. The price is ridiculously affordable, nothing comparable to Zoom or Teamviewer. The only one review I saw says “duped into buying a new subscription on purpose”…personally, if they offered a 5 year subscription where I can lock in the $17 a year price, I’d get it in a heart beat. Offer me a discount and I’d go for the 10 year! Hint hint ;)
Not working anymore
This worked a couple of years ago but now it doesn’t. May be because my iMac is getting old.- 10.15. But nowhere in the App Store does it say it’s limited.
Use to be a Good app
This was a great app when you could buy it outright but the new subscription method turned into a way to drain money from you instead of paying all at once. All of us that once did are strewed on top of that. Just use the wired service until they start to charge for that.

Title explains
Finally, I can stop checking out remote desktop apps!
This one is the only one I need. It does a better job than the others at getting around my firewalls and routers and at a fraction of the cost of some apps. I love this and it’s worth every penny!!!
Doesn’t work anymore
Stopped working fully
Great app
I’ve used the app for years without problems, there was an issue with the previous version but now the update works again!
Apple Pencil support requires paid “business” app.
It streams my PC to my iPad, yes. But without Apple Pencil support, there is 0 practical use for this app. Chrome Remote Desktop is just as useless but for free.
Good app - but
It’s a good app, works well with iPad. However the resolution setting need fixing. You need to offer 1600x1200 which is the best resolution for Ipad pro 12.9.
Easy to set up
I have used Splashtop for several weeks now. Other than the app needing to update by re installing the app, the amount of screen space your desktop takes up on the iPad has increased in the new version. I play video games off this app and I have no problems. I can access both my monitors with easy. I highly recommend this app if you want to use your computer on the go.
IPAD accessing Win 10 PC at work.
The keyboard does not fully work no matter what Splashtop Keyboard setting I use. Some of the issues when Apple Keyboard setting is used: Alt-Tab only toggles between last 2 screens, keyboard gets stuck in upper case at time, keyboard gives weird characters such as putting a CTL-Chararcter (^) before a keystroke, and actions like a tap on a push button give spurious results. With the Splashtop PC Keyboard setting the biggest issue is that I lose the ability to hold a key down and have the character or arrow key cursor repeat on the screen.
Latest verision introduces blurry screen
Using Personal version which has worked great forever but with latest update, Excel spreadsheets are blurry and not readable when initially going to them. They clear up after 5 seconds or so but this is extremely annoying and I cant find a workaround when searching online.
Last update broke it-again
I can’t understand how you can release an update that breaks a core feature of the program. A tap on my iPad screen used to generate a mouse click at the point of the tap. Now all it does is BLINK on the screen. The cause was turning on a standard feature built into the system. Please stop doing updates without proper testing. Every update that you do makes the app worse. Pretty soon it won’t open at all.
Too laggy using with ipad 10.5 on ios 13
Laggy when using this app on my ipad 10.5, still a good app but would be nice with less lag
iPad issues
No instructions on using an iPad Pro 12.9 to fill the whole screen. As long as this app has been out that issue should have been corrected by now.
Always an error
Never connects no matter what I do.
Good service but
Strongly recommended, only drawback is invariably having to bump start it if not used for a few days.
Previously this app was greatness
This version has been a complete pain. I liked having the auto suggestion keyboard… gone. And now when I get disconnected from my sessions and try to reconnect, the soft keyboard does not work.
Great app. Struggling with Mojave.
I have used this app many times for a few years but currently can’t connect using Mojave Public Beta.
So Easy
Used another remote connection before but Splashtop is by far the best and most reliable remote connection. Very happy
Unusable
Displays fine but click to drag doesn’t work.
Grrrrreat!
Just fantastic app!!😀😀😀
No option to disable predictive text
It’s really stupid that this app doesn’t have any option to disable predictive text on the keyboard. This means entering passwords on the remote computer isn’t secure. This is a big security flaw that needs fixing.
Having some issues
I only just got this and was super excited to try it out. However straight away I ran into some issues. I can’t make an account because it says that it can’t connect to the splash top servers. I tried googling for answers but every splashtop forum brought up a message saying that it can’t load the page because it can’t connect to the server. Is there something wrong with the servers altogether, I’d like to know because I really don’t want this to be a waste of money! -Thankyou 10/04 - Thanks for the response but the issue isn’t with my PC but with my IPad. It’s an IPad Air. What can I do about this?
Proud User
I have been using Splashtop for several years and its my goto app to accessing my Mac mini and Windows computer. Thinking of buying a MacBook Air/pro…dont bother . Use an old laptop and remote in…you will have the power of a brand new computer in your hands
Unusable
I have used this in the past and it use to be the gold standard offering smooth framerates wherever I’m connecting. After a few years of not using it, I had the need again and loaded it up expecting it to be great. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Everything is extremely stuttering to the point of being unusable. There are other options now that are better. I won’t turn this into a promo for those other ones, but I can tell you honestly not to subscribe to this. You’ll end up canceling it almost immediately. Sorry. Splashtop did reach out asking me to make sure everything was up to date, and the truth is everything is up to date, and the software is still not functional.
Served me well
I believe i got Splashtop in its early days and got the full life time membership which is great. The quality is unmatched and it has served me very well.
mac端无法打开streamer
什么原因呢？我来来回回下了好几次 每次都是到输电脑密码后就自己退出了，应该也没装上这个streamer吧 晕晕 用不了
One of the greats but
I have used this app for years almost daily for local network only twice paying the years subscription due to other just as good remotes that are free. I was pleased there is at last a monthly payment option for the occasional use but I can not understand how you justify this at £4.49 service that could equate to £100 yearly opposed to the £12.99 annual subscription. Half it and you may attract more people. We already had to pay twice for the app @ iPad and iPhone For this reason only stars dropped
Very reliable and fast
Connection is very reliable and fast.
Pure trash now
Used to be great. Clearly they've lost sight of what they set out to do, though. Can't even connect to my own computer, on my home network, without being told it's on a different network. What a joke.
Cannot click
Update: The 2.7.4.5 update fixed the issue so now up to 4 stars. Cannot use the click function at all. Neither left or right click is functioning. This means the the app is now completely useless. I was using this very app with my older iPad 2 connecting to my windows pc and it was brilliant. I have upgraded to an iPad pro and it has become useless. Mind you on the iPad 2 it still works fine. The worst part is the customer support. I have raised a query with Splashtop support since December and still no reply.
Please fix
This is a great app, but the recent update causes black screen every time I connect. Never had this issue with previous versions, now it happens every time even though the recent update states 'bug fixes for black screen'. Using IOS 9.3.5 & OSX 10.12.6 Please fix!!!
Slow Start
I had trouble finding streamer but your tech help is #1. Ryan KA3OHL
Freezes iPad Air 13in M2
The app is unusable. Every time I go to login, my tablet completely freezes, and requires a reboot before I can use it at all again.
Great
Works fantastically
What happened to the free stuff
Get this you had a app known as play minecraft pc on iPad and you can make your own gamer controller and shortcut. Now you pay 2.99/mo for it. Pointless bye bye I’m no longer a client of you making money I like it when company’s aren’t trying to make loads of money from there users so they remove stuff that was free. I like companies to let theta users get feathers that’s free and stays that way and don’t make there users pay for stuff that should be free and only pay for stuff that businesses need. Make it free again please
Crashes a lot
Freezes a lot when used with windows 7. It has a problem we're it crashes then you can't get access because it says you still have a session open, company having been promising to fix this issue for over a year but have never bothered to.
Fantastic
Latest versions have fixed so many things. Works very well across multiple platforms.
No connect
Worked a long time then it said it wasn't on the network but it is and it wants money. 1 star
Brilliant software
This is really easy to use, and when I’m using my MacBook remotely on my iPad it’s fast and smooth, just a shame the trackpad mode can be a bit sluggish, but generally excellent.
Controller not mouse and keyboard
I was watching a YouTube video and this guy was playing Fortnite with a Xbox 360 controller with splash point...how did he do this, because when I opened splashpoint personal it said find a computer...please add controllers to splash point
Nice app
Good app but doesnt work well with chrome based browsers
