I say this on my computer and say how expensive the download was but the fact that not only do you need to BUY it for your computer you then need to BUY IT AGAIN for your iPad, extremely predatory and not worth how much they charge.
Great but has bugs
This is a great Sidecar alternative for PC <-> iOS. It gets four stars because it has bugs, like Windows kernel freeze after input starts tripping on iOS. No way to submit a bug report, only “high debug logs”. Who knows if they read them. That being said, if you can afford it, it’s not a bad deal. 4/5

Not able to detect my laptop via WiFi
Almost Perfect
Only issue is that when I’m plugged in directly to my laptop from my iPad, the cursor doesn’t show up on my iPad screen. I have emailed Duet Display and they never got back to me about it (unless I somehow missed their email). Otherwise, the app works as expected
Great app, great firm
Have you ever paid for an app that you liked but eventually had an issue and felt that you were speaking into a black hole? That doesn’t happen with this product and team. I rely on this app daily when I travel to avoid carrying my professional and personal devices with me. It is the best Remote Desktop app I’ve used, and have tried most all of them. I recently had an issue with app’s functionality when accessing from my iPad. I emailed support, received a response within the same day, and eventually by going through checks and suggestions the client service representative made was able to get things back to normal. All too rare to have good experiences like this. Kudos for a great product and great customer support. Thank you!
Don’t want to pay annual subscription when needed for the short time
Never mentioned that I have to setup account and give payment data before even open an app. Registration e-mail directing to the site to choose subscription for hundreds of dollars. I skipped that, then app asking to choose less expensive subscription even before I have an opportunity to use free try period. Afraid they will charge even if I try to cancel subscription. No, thanx

Full of Bugs
Completely crashed my mini's external display while sharing to the ipad. The iphone app is useless. Great idea, and when it worked once it was kinda cool in theory but I'd like to be able to command tab from ipad keyboard while having the duet app open but instead the command tab remains part of the IOS session not the OSX shared session.
Almost there
Works great most of the time for me, but for some reason on ipad 10.9 inch, sometimes when im using a bluetooth mouse I cant touch in some areas, keyboard wont fully work when i enter in my pc apps most of the time. Its weird. Other remote apps work just fine, but lack the convenience features like full screen that this has.
Best Additional Monitor Ever!
This has been the easier app to use and works great with an iPad as a second display for a laptop with limited space.

This app is garbage. Poor performance with Remote Desktop for Windows and Mac. Extend display simply doesn’t work over the air or over cable with any OS. Find an alternative. Very expensive shovelware that Apple won’t refund.
Good product
Coming up telling me to review it in the middle of a session was a bit annoying. Other than that I love the mirror display for zoom calls in my teleprompter.
Windows vs iOS.
I’ve been using duet for a couple of years and I love the air version of it. Now I’m having trouble getting the error version to work on my new MacBook Air laptop. It’s fine when using a cable, but not wireless yet. I’ve sent several requests for help, but they claim it’s gonna take 24Hours before they can get back to me.
Used to work well…
But now it’s quite sketchy. Works sometimes. Sometimes it doesn’t. It always takes 2-3 tries before it will connect. Now, with the latest update it won’t connect at all. Three year user here.
At last Portrait View
Side Car is free but Duet Air goes one better - it extends the Mac Desktop in Portrait View. I use my iPad to view music scores with a number of apps but they are all useless in landscape, the image is way too small. But with Duet Air I can finally see my music scores in Portrait. This is in addition to the many features Duet Air offers. Highly recommended

Solid, but has an issue I can’t get around
Might be hardware related but my mouse for the iPad will treat a click that holds as touch input and can screw up my attempted input in the process. Not sure how to fix it.

I recently spend £32 on this app by subscription. For some reason it doesn’t work and the troubleshooting advice I have been given does not tally. It has also affected the wired connection and seems not work if the Wi-Fi is not strong. I wouldn’t purchase this again. And am awaiting refund on my subscription.
iPad functionality multiplied
Duet creates a second monitor for my PC laptop. iPad is already fantastic, but the added functionality is practically flawless when used with a wired connection. While a second monitor is a two edged sword when it comes to productivity, there are certain tasks that the extra screen makes much more efficient. Add in the remote access capability, and it is an app that largely delivers on its promise.
Scam Alert!
BEWARE OF SCAM. I purchased a Lifetime Duet Air Pro license. The application was working great until it was not. The application is no longer working and would require me to purchase another license. To add to my absolute frustration my emails to support have remained unanswered.
Pricey but it delivers
The app itself works really well. It crashed a couple times, but overall I have to say I’m impressed. My main complains are that the price is high for an annual subscription, and that I could never get the audio sharing feature to work, which I would really use. I really hope they fix the audio sharing feature soon, that is the only reason why this is not a five star review. The image quality itself is amazing if you use the best settings, with almost no latency at all, to the point it really feels as a wired monitor. You can also use lower settings for a more laggy (but usable) low-power experience. The iPad keyboard is not perfectly compatible with a Windows PC, but for typing works fine.

New version works great
I’ve used it for about 6 months. There was a period of time (about 2 weeks) where an issue popped up, I think it was something related to a windows update, and I had issues. However that problem was fixed in the newest version. I use the “mirror monitor” feature daily as part of my work— there’s 1-2 times per day when I need to mirror one of my desktop monitors onto my iPad. It’s been a major productivity boost.

Excellent utility
I am using my 11inch iPad Pro as a second display for my windows desktop. Works almost perfectly wired and wirelessly. It isn’t without lag, but it is certainly miles better than those free apps. My one complaint is scaling. You can set it to pixel perfect resolution, however, i use custom scaling for my primary monitor. SO if you want the highest resolution but larger text size..it wont work. For things to be large enough to read you have to use a lower resolution, but it still looks good. I tried setting the scaling separately for the second display but it just keeps messing up the scaling on my primary monitor.
Apple Pencil or No? Language unclear.
I read the description for this app and I was like- it really sounds like they have found a way to make using the apple pencil with an older ipad possible. i wanted to try using apple pencil before buying, none of the documentation was clear if it would work with my older ipad- your language is (intentionally?) vague and it took me an hour to find on ANOTHER site that says it is indeed only with Pro ipads, and it was only after installing that I figured out that there is no way to even try out the pro version. So, not a great experience. It looks pretty intentional that you didn’t clearly state that somewhere, that the pencil only works with pro ipads, so thats a negative experience for me. Just say it- pencil only works w pro ipads. No, its not enough that the name is “pro” thats not clear with your vague language around saying it makes it so the apple pencil works for drawing.

Lots of "crashing"
I use this app a lot, and it crashes a lot. Can't figure out why, or what causes it, but when it crashes, the app just closes and I have to open it again. Sometimes it will go 20 minutes without crashing, sometimes it's like 3 seconds. I keep using it because it's really good when it works. Low latency, great resolution, zooming and panning. Wish it was consistent, it would be an easy 5 stars. Edit: developers helped me out, turns out when you use the connect option from your iPad, it works differently than when you use the connect option from your desktop. It worked much better when I used it by connecting from the desktop application. Haven't had a crash since. My only real complaint is that the app features are different depending on how you connect.

I’ve been trying this out for a few days now, and it is generally ok. The quality and responsiveness is superb, and the 60 FPS feels like 60 FPS, which is great. An issue i did encounter in most of my uses though, was that after around ~ 10 mins of sustained usage, the quality of the stream would be absolutely terrible. I am aware that my upload speed is less than ideal, but seeing it works absolutely fine for 10 - 15 mins, then is awful, i doubt internet speed is the issue here. My next issue isn’t an issue with this app, but an issue with Windows and 2nd display support. When using this device in the highest resolution available, you will have to move your mouse up or down on the iPad screen to be travel back over your main screen. What I mean by this is that you will only be able to travel between screens if you move the mouse across in the middle, top or bottom of the iPad screen, rather than anywhere on it. Overall though, when it works it’s mostly fine, but the for sustained usage it begins to become unusable after a while, and i have to refresh the connection every 10 - 15 mins for it work properly again.

Forced subscription + account
Wanted to try this out – but was instantly forced to create an account and then learned that nothing worked without a subscription. My instant reaction: forget it and instant uninstall. What a shame. And no, customer service, there is absolutely no need to respond as I can predict your answer and will not buy it anyhow.

Air Feature Laggy / Wired stopped working.
Mediocre and underwhelming, I was very close to buying the yearly plan as I need this for school, but having the USB disconnect on its own is mediocre, I also tested this with 5 USB cables and Duet outright never connected over USB again. My cables are Apple certified and my PC can see a connection, not Duet.

Don’t download this app. Terrible! If you want to do simple things then this app is ok. Anything that requires you to watch a video or adjust to anything else and this app crashes consistently. I am very disappointed and wish I didn’t pay for the subscription. After reading more reviews I wouldn’t choose this app or even recommend to anyone else. Extremely disappointed
