What people like
- Works great as a second monitor for old Macs
- Touchscreen support lets you scroll and tap on iPad
- Support team is responsive and actually fixes problems
What they complain about
- Went from one-time buy to expensive subscription
- Connectivity issues and frequent crashes ruin workflow
- Wireless lag makes it bad for gaming
Excellent Product
Recommended. I’ve been searching for a trustworthy (and reliable) Clipboard app for months. DUET is so many things. Saved me from buying two monitors and my bus drives remain free too. The Fine Print is well written - freed my mind of my own curiosities. And Echo is a massive workflow improvement. Certainly already paid for itself and I trust it.
Constant disconnects
Constantly having issues connecting to my computer. I’ve had this service a few years ago, and today I am still experiencing the same issues on a newer computer and two generations of iPhones later
Really useful app
I use this everyday, a very useful app. There are some occasions where it doesn’t fire up straight away, if it overcame that then I would give it the full 5 stars
'
Mouse troppo lento
Why?
Costs way too much when you’re just using your own cable for it
I use it daily
Awesome, I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. I use it as a dedicated headless display for my mini PC in conjunction with my iPad. I have it set to auto launch at startup. I generally opt for a wired connection when I’m gaming for stability, but sometimes I operate wirelessly while on the go. The connection is generally great, but I have experienced some lag when trying to game wirelessly, most likely attributed to network speeds. I keep the resolution and settings maxed to prioritize quality, so it could be as simple as lowering those. All in all, it’s awesome and by far the best solution I’ve come across. The integration is seamless. I have a lifetime Duet Pro license, which was an expensive initial investment, but definitely worth it for my needs.
Immediate subscription required. HARD PASS!
Posting the app for free and requiring immediate subscription is sketchy as hell.
Very good but is missing curvature
This is by far the best I have tried but it still misses the possibility to curve the ultra wide monitors which is slightly annoying
Vert Delayed on IPad….
I find the delay over wifi intolerable, and when it is hard wired, simpler bearable. Not worth what I just paid for it. Hopefully it improves before I have to renew. Or I will not be.
App no longer brings up IOS keyboard on IPad
App is no longer bringing up an IOS keyboard, when I click on a windows 11 text box connecting from an Ipad. If this behavior continues, I will cancel plan and delete app. This behavior makes the Duet app pretty much useless. I have been successfully using the app for a long time, and it just started acting up.
Great
Great
Pricing
Subscription instead of single purchase is only worth it if there is evolution in the features of the product. I just need an app for external display, nothing fancy enough to justify paying for it over and over again.
Can you please introduce a dark mode icon?
Otherwise pretty good app, makes the iPad actually useful lol
What happened?
We cannot download it in our MacBook? Only on iPad?
Good for second screen iPad
I have a laptop and I use this app to extend my screen so I have two for work and gaming, but I recently upgraded to pro for only the iOS casting to pc, it will not connect. It says connecting for 4-5 seconds and then freezes and disconnects. It happens every time I’m so sad I upgraded to pro for this one feature and it doesn’t even work. Waste of money to upgrade. Wish I stayed on air.
Churry Lafuente
Love it New update works fast and lag free. Windows and mac Well done duet team. Thanks again
Buggy
Never stays in landscape mode always glitches out. Very bad product. Do not buy look for free alternatives.

Keeps crashing
This app keeps crashing. When I’m in the middle of work I do not have time to download an update on my PC and get our hardware team involved to enter their security password, then shutdown all my work to restart the PC and try again. Very frustrating. -update 3/2/26 only now, years later has developer now contacted me back. I had deleted the app and moved on years ago.
Works fine
Pretty laggy for fine work, But if you just need extra monitor space to reference a document or drawing, it works fine.
Vertical iPad as Second Monitor
For the life of me I can’t figure out why Mac doesn’t allow vertical orientation for sidecar. No problem, I just use duet display. It allows me to use my iPad as second monitor in vertical orientation, and with good picture and no lag (I prefer wired connection). Works as advertised and the few bugs I had were fixed with a responsive support team. Thanks!
Straight cheeks
App sucks won’t connect don’t download it

Works well, subscriptions are bs
It’s good but, to draw and stuff don’t use.
Scaling problem once purchased Pro plan
the free trial ver was great so I purchased the pro plan. Ta-da, NOT great any more. Upon connecting, everything strung on my ipad pro. Unable to scale (only 1 default setting). This is frustrating
Awesome extra screen.
Works very smooth. Absolutely no delays or lags. Literally ended up saving hundreds of dollar I would have spent on a new screen.
macbook app does not open
macbook app is not running. its incredible. i hit on on the app but nothing
It works but the could have been better
1 the application is easy to use, I hasn’t use it in a while but both the app and the windows app improved greatly. The response was slow before but now is a bit better(I’m using a usb a to c cable so it may be better with a c to c) 2. Before I complained that the app wireless has only subscription, but now has a lifetime plan which even though is pricy is a lot better than subscriptions
Need an account? NO WAY (updates)
I deeply dislike having to create an account to use an app I paid for, but it is working for me. I’ll move off Duet now but I’ll be fair and say it does work this way. what I paid for.
Good product, but pricey.
I really like this app, but I wish they stopped with monthly subscriptions and their lifetime plans that are over 25x the monthly amount. It’s so expensive. It would be a no brainer at around 50 bucks, but around 200 is quite a lot.
Just wow!
Worth every penny !
Horrible
Add said three dollars a month, I got charged 36 and it won’t work between my ROG Xbox Ally X and my IPad Pro. Would not recommend.
A phenomenal app with one drawback.
This app is a great way to have a second monitor, both wired or wirelessly. With the pro features, it’s also a touchscreen. This is an expensive purchase, however, very worth it. I went with the lifetime pass, but the monthly allows for a smaller hit. The only downside is lag. Even with the pro version there is a considerable amount of lag. It shouldn’t be a surprise though, it is running on a tablet/phone. Beyond the lag, I love every feature of this app and everything it can do for me both personally and professionally. Not good for games or videos, but for documents & browsing, it’s amazing!
Only works if their services are online
The product actually works amazing well, until there servers go down. Right now my app is a very expensive brick, because their website is returning 503 services unavailable. I will be requesting a refund.
Mixed feelings
The app is fantastic when acting as a second screen for a laptop and when creating a stylus device for any computer. The Remote Desktop experience is just OK. It is not as performant as using Sunshine or Apollo with Moonlight or VoidLink. It is not as seamless as Jump Desktop. It does not work well with other Virtual Displays when using the iPad version. When using the PC version you can select to stream without trying to setup a Virtual Display and then manually use whatever real or virtual display you want. The iPad version tries to force its own Virtual Display and then crashes if it cannot. So I am forced to choose between streaming solutions (VoidLink and Jump Desktop allow my own virtual display so I have chosen them). The (few) settings for a remote connection are only available when connected so if any settings cause connection issues you are out of luck. The cable that is part of the lifetime subscription says it cannot ship to the UK. A great extended display and stylus device experience and a bellow average Remote Desktop experience which for the high lifetime subscription price is a real disappointment.
Excellent App and Great Customer Service
II have Windows PC (Home and Office), a Surface Pro (My laptop) and iPhone and iPad Pro. I have always used Duet to screencast my Windows screen and use my iPad as a writing device for Windows. It always worked well. Recently, I had wanted to project my iPad screen onto Windows so I would not have to switch between devices when I answered my texts. Initially Duet Display did not work. I contact Duet support and Raul worked with and coordinated with the technical team to fix the issue. They gave me an updated version for my Windows which is not yet on their website. I found out there was an issue with my Bluetooth receiver on my Windows machine and replaced it. Everything works flawlessly now. Infact I am typing from a screen on my Windows machine. What impressed me most was the responsiveness of the customer service.
Disgusting company
When I originally paid for this app, it was a one time payment. I haven’t used it for quite a while, but to my surprise, it is now a subscription service and they want me to pay monthly? And the free version you can only connect for 30 minutes at a time? HAHAHAHA absolutely losers, deleted the app immediately you will not be getting a dime of my money. “one time purchase” should’ve actually mean you only purchase it one time and not later on become a subscription. The developers of this should be disgusted with themselves. Anti consumer slop.
Perfect for business travel
When I travel for work, I almost always take my iPad, and always missing my second monitor for my laptop. Problem solved!
Hmmm
Doesn’t fill iPad full screen size sadly, even after trying all the available resolutions. Has black bars all down the both left and right sides in portrait mode, not ideal. Not a fan of the sub service either, yuk.
Touch location wrong on iPhone 16 pro max
If this can be fixed its a 5 star software.
Use your iPad or iPhone as a second display!
Duet works great. Easy to connect. Supports 60hz refresh rates and retina quality. If you already have an iPad, get this! Bonus: supports touch gestures so you can scroll and tap stuff using your iPad or iPhone’s touch screen!
No you have to pay for it
This sucks you can you have to pay for it and it should be free because I was dumb little app
Great for real time observation!
The latency was near 0 and the ability to use the touch screen on the phone as an extension of the computer screen isphenomenal!
Opaque pricing
Good alternative to sidecar. Pricing and features paid for are not front and centre. Email inducing resubscribe at 50% discount did not show monetary cost before payment page! Scummy advertising. Good app.
Not worth.
This is not worth the price
I appreciate the lifetime access option
I was looking for a way to use my new iPad with my old MacBook Pro 2015 as you know, Sidecar is not available for older Macs. I purchased a small monitor from Amazon two months ago instead. This morning, my second display died for some reason so I ended up back where I started . I purchased duet display “lifetime starter”, which happened to be on sale for $105. So far so good! This version needs to be connected via USB, which is fine. I preferred this way. The display looks good and I’m having no trouble so far. Will update if that changes.
Hate the new version!
I’ve been using duet display for years to make my iPad a second display. When I logged in today, I was instructed to upgrade the Windows version and now all I get is a mirrored display… No second display. The lack of instructions or manual is frustrating. I’m a former director of IT, so not a novice. With a presentation coming up this week, I cannot tell you how frustrated I am.
Great but annoying. Functionally perfect but insistent on air
I just want to use a cable and not use air. Please stop asking
Can’t use it without an account
Used to think this was great but after a while away I came back to use it again. I now have to create an account so goodbye to this.
When it works, it’s great… when it works.
The title pretty much says it.
