Nothing beats working on the go for me
Being able to work when ever and where ever has put my productivity light years ahead. I spent years glued to one spot and will never work like that again. I can’t speak for anyone else but Shapr3d meets all my needs. 5 stars all day 🔥🔥🔥💯

Amazing app but it crashes whenever I scale something.
Needs improvement
1 love how my review keeps getting removed so questioning their 4.7, 2 limited import options, 3 can’t easily start sketching on a face without it arbitrarily drawing on another face, 4 can’t easily take an object/copy it from one project to another, 5 no freehand sketch. The best of no real iPad options. About a year later and all that I’ve commented above remains true, no worthwhile updates, overpriced and curious how they still have the monopoly on iPad Pro
Still no way to place text with a curve or the perimeter of a circle
All of the competition can complete text on the curve or in a circle such as a coin or other flat-round object. The application has been out way too long for not able to be able to perform this function.
Excellent, but have a suggestion
I love every feature and seamless detail the devs added, but consider adding a sculpting section for more mesh details. This would speed up character modeling by starting with your base geometry features and sculpting the modifications from there.
Does not let me use my fingers to model
I don’t like to use the app because it doesn’t allow me to use my own fingers.
Update on being bummed
The app is just a struggle bus to get started with, and while the developers built out tutorials for the app. I just find them useless, I literally follow the tutorial step for step, and without fail it doesn’t work. Super bummed as I thought this would be perfect for woodworking projects but the learning curve is too steep or something else is wrong but so far the experience is frustrating and feels like more work than just drawing and redrawing the items as needed. UPDATE: So I stuck with it and eventually got over the hump. For most start small, even smaller than the demo and start on the intro YouT series. But I will say it still infuriates me there’s just not a bit more simple functionality to start, but it is CAD. Could be an iPad Air issue with the new M4 or just me, but it still struggles to move through the process smoothly and without issue.
Nice but just too expensive for casual use
I really like the Shapr3d interface and how easy it is to quickly put together a 3d model for printing, but unfortunately it’s way too expensive for a hobbyist user that just needs to design and print a couple of 3d models a month for personal use. I wish there was a more cost effective personal license tier level but at its cheapest £39 a month is way too expensive.

I don’t have Apple Pencil. Please fix.
Absolute perfection
This app is amazing and fairly easy to learn, I use it for designing models for 3d printing so the new prusa integration is really nice. I also like how I can use a mouse and keyboard or Apple Pencil, also has a ton of features for an iPad app
Terrible
Nothing like dropping over $200 on a app so unpolished I could’ve made in Claude in less than a week and it would actually work how a 3d modeler should. Absolutely baffling to me how the tools work when they want to, if at all. Or when they do they don’t come close to what you draw and give a million guide rails for. There’s plenty of other great apps that are LEAGUES above this one. Do not waste your time or money.

Flawed update for iPad
So this has updated and now the tools you use the most, or at least the ones I do, union/mirror/subtract etc are moved due to the fact that ‘visualise/create drawings’ has been added to the toolbar. So selecting these tools now requires an extra step to show these options. They have already made the visualise button easier to reach on the main screen, no need to have added it to the toolbar. It’s making my design process slower and starting to get infuriating. Still a great app, but it looks like they are pushing the visualisation (now that we have ai version) but in doing so are making the creation of the part to be visualised harder.
Best app w/the dumbest error
Somehow this is the best 3D design app and when it errors during export it doesn't tell you why you just have to trial and error 500 history layers🤦🏻♀️ most annoying thing ever spent hours designing just to spend hours trying to find the error it won’t tell ,e about just to say f it and redesign it all on tinker… the most annoying one to use
Perfect for average person design and 3D printing
I was newer to 3D printing and I picked this software up to expand parts I could not find online. I have found I am using it for so many uses.
Locked behind a login
Require my personal data to even test your software to see if it will do what I want, I shouldn’t have to do that just to see if it will do what I need. Then force me to go through 10 minutes of tutorials. You should hire a consultant, nobody wants to deal with that. Don’t lock everything behind the stupid steps you think will help. Clearly out of touch with the end user.

too expensive
I had great fun learning to get to grips with this on the free tier a few years ago. I don’t use this professionally and the monthly/yearly pricing is just obscene, there’s no way I will ever pay and I know I’m not the only one. Come up with a mid tier that’s reasonably priced but not totally stunted and I think your sales will go up a lot…. 😕
Works Fine, ridiculous subscription, constantly badgers user to pay exorbitant fees!
Developer has zero grasp of volume pricing. Desperately needs a casual user level with a one time, $30-$50 fee that permanently unlocks features for the home hobbyist like usable 3D printing export, image export, and SketchUp file export/import. They could attract ten $20 purchases for every $200 subscription but won't (edit: the idiots have increased their absurd subscription to $300). Developer (still) fails to grasp that software subscriptions have no place in civilized society. Need continuous revenue? The FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) community has demonstrated for decades how to succeed through enterprise support, tip jars, enterprise sales, etc. Decades of software version sales also offer a successful model for continuous revenue; new features, redesigned program, sell a new version. Plenty of options to encourage mass adoption without abusing users’ wallets. The first app developer to get this right will own the market. The rise in hobbyist Makers is creating an opportunity for someone. The only question is if this developer will decide to seize the chance or fail when some else does.

Awesome at a costs
Not for the light hearted, as this amazing powerhouse native pen usage cad system is nothing short of beauty. It forces hobbyist to think of ways to generate some sort of assets from the software by sharing your designs on MakerWorld to generate free spools of a filament, or even better yet, own your own company to generate the incentive to pay for such a tool
Good app but too expensive
It would be 5 stars but the price is ludicrous. Stick with plasticity or moi3d as they offer more features at a lower cost. If this was aimed more at enthusiasts at a lower price point I could see it being a very useful tool for initial ideas, but ultimately finished externally. It’s a shame because it’s good, but not 300 a year good.

Greedy
If I could do zero stars, I WOULD. Really fun, but why do you have to have a subscription? Why can’t you just make it free. It’s EXTREMELY expensive. 20 to 30 a MONTH!?! That is VERY greedy.

This program changes the game for 3d modeling. I would give it 5 stars but the price is absurd for a hobbyist.
Extraordinarily expensive
I’m a hobbyist, I occasionally design and print things on my 3D printer. Such use does not warrant a £300 subscription, regardless of app quality. I appreciate the developer needs to make money, especially from commercial users, but the humble hobbyist is left with nothing but crumbs. Will revisit this app if they offer a much more reasonable pricing tier

I checked the website and it’s $25 a month or $300 a year. Immediately uninstalled it. So done with subscription models in 2026.
First time user
I am a first time user with CAD and with the tutorial I am able to easily build without issue! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
Doesn’t work
I got this app expecting what it said, but I get 15 seconds of a still image of the logo, then black screen, then app crashes! Doesn’t even work, please fix this
A bit expensive
Super cool but a tad bit expensive really recommend the. Limited version if unsure about 3D making and if you like it then I recommend you buy it!

A really good app let down by pricing
This is the software that I feels easiest to get along with, but the trial restrictions of only being able to export in low quality feels restrictive.

This is like the best app for iPad users. It has everything you need! But I don’t like that keeps visualization, etc. costs $249.99 yearly. They should make it cheaper, or even make it free!

Great app but missing a pricing tier for hobbyists
Shapr3D is fantastic. Easy to use, and was pretty easy to pick up coming from OnShape or Fusion. I primarily like that it runs locally and doesn’t REQUIRE a cloud back end if you don’t want to use it like Fusion, or isn’t straight browser based like OnShape. Where I find it lacking isn’t in the program itself, but in the pricing options. There’s two. Free, which has some pretty severe limitations that make it essentially a ‘make sure you like the interface’ type of trial. You can only export low resolution STLs from the free version. That alone makes it almost useless. Round objects come out polygonal. There’s no STEP export, either, with the free version. That’s all well and good, except that the ONLY option is $300 a year. For someone noncommercial like myself, that’s too much to justify. Yes, Fusion and OnShape are more, but their free tiers actually provide enough tools for hobbyists to actually use the programs for models to be used in hobby projects. Fusion even lets you earn up to $1000 a year with the things you model and still be considered a hobbyist for free. What I’d love to see from Shapr is something like $99/yr for hobbyists that includes high resolution STLs, STEP exports, unlimited locally stored projects, no cloud storage, and crucially… lets me turn off the tooltips. I’ve been using Shapr for about 4 months now and it still gives me a tooltip every time a tool is selected. It’s maddening. Anyways, this is a great application marred by business choices that baffle me. I don’t need all the features of Pro but I certainly need more than the Free tier. Hopefully one day they’ll reconsider and offer a lower paid tier so I can give them my money for using the app, but for now, I’ll recommend it, but only if you can actually justify the yearly cost by using it professionally or commercially.

Great but….
I love this software I really do its great for making practical items and I use it almost every day however the ability to edit stl files would be useful and simple things like sketching on curved surfaces would be nice but the biggest thing of all is the price. It’s a lot of money for something that is lacking some basic features that things like fusion 360 and even Tinkercad has but since I can’t get fusion 360 on my iPad this is the best alternative.

Not worth the cost
I have enjoyed using this app which is worthy of five stars but since the price is over the top for most people and fusion is free for hobbyist it’s never going to be the app to use. Especially as the export quality is so bad it’s not worth using. I only use it now for an easy way to work out things while on the move. Then transfer those ideas to fusion. If they only charged a small fee for each export this would be more ideal.

Why iOS 17?
Used to love Shapr3D, but now they require iOS 17, for no apparent reason… so I’m out… my perfectly fine 12.9” iPad Pro is too old
Fantastic App, but high subscription cost.
Silky smooth on iPad Air M2, awesome for roughing in ideas when I’m away from the computer. The issue for me is not allowing high resolution exports in the free version. I’m all for devs being rewarded for their hard work, but with Autodesk Fusion being free to use, I can’t justify the high monthly subscription for this app. If it was a one time purchase, I’d probably use it for final production.
Too expense too difficult
This app unintuitive it is unbelievable it takes two hours just to do a simple box even moving. The thing around is really hard. I don't know why they make most of these CAD applications so difficult to use. It's not rocket science
Too Expensive for Hobbyists
Great App and very intuitive to learn cad. Price is too high for non commercial users, it’s really tough to justify £300 to make a few simple models to 3d print. Updates are infuriating if you use on multiple devices, constant conflicts lock you out of projects until you update to the latest unchanged version. Overall very good, especially drawing with the iPad and pencil but I’m looking to switch to something else, cost and annoying update frequency have driven me away.
