Try a better option
I’ve been using Evernote for 7 years (since 2019) as a paid professional service, and I have seen severe performance degradation over the last 2-3 years. I got a notice that they increased my yearly subscription price from $140 to $240 - on the same day I couldn’t get a note to open on my phone because of an aforementioned new performance issue. I didn’t mind the price increase alone, but Evernote’s service is now full of AI slop and unacceptable software development practices. For a replacement, I considered Joplin, Notesnook, and Obsidian. Notesnook is user friendly, boasts the same core features as Evernote without the slop, adds additional nice-to-have features like nesting notebooks, and the syncing is flawless between my devices. I would highly recommend you skip this buggy app that won’t be able to load a simple text note because it’s trying to AI-generate something you didn’t ask for. Instead, save a couple hundred dollars and go with a more reliable, functional, and quality service.

I have not had the chance to explore the changes allowing the transcript of voice messages but plan on following up soon when time allows
Can’t Trust With My Notes
I have used Evernote since the beginning. I want to say I used it as early as 2011? But by 2016, I was a heavy user. I had EVERYTHING in there, from personal notes to alllll of my work notes. Most importantly, I had a series of nested journals, structured by month. I eventually paid the premium version for a number of years, but then I noticed glitches and things not synching correctly. Etc. But the scary thing was my old email address got compromised and I needed to update it, but I could not update the email address. Apparently, I had to email them and THEY had to update it, but no one would get back to me to validate the change. For the first time, I took a good hard look at my free Notes app on all of my Apple devices and realized they have come a long way. I still preferred what I had with Evernote (and again, I was a super user, using in all day long, every day. I had thousands of notes. Thousands of notes I would lose if I didn’t get the email address changed. I panicked and spend an entire night batching them into my (free) Notes account. I managed to save almost everything. For free. That was a few years ago and they may have fixed the email change problem, but it was so precarious to almost lose everything just for that….never again. And don’t even get me started on how all the subscription models are like being pecked to death by a duck financially. Just no. Do I miss Evernote from time to time, when I wistfully see it as an option? Yes. But will I pay whatever horrific fee they are now charging to almost lose all of my notes because of a glitch like that? Nope. Sigh.
It would have been higher…
… but, popping up the notification to rate you while I am in the middle of speech to text, trying to make a note to myself, then doing it repeatedly while I’m just trying to get thoughts out as quickly as possible, which should be easy in your app, got you a three. The notification pop-up turns off the speech to text. Otherwise, I dig Evernote.

$275 for a note app?!
Are these people on crack?! $275 to use a note taking app. Pretty audacious for an app that has sync issues amongst other things especially when you need it the most. I think not. This isn’t even bad, it’s comical. We can live without it.
Crazy Price Increase
Love the app. Works well, getting easier to navigate all the time, BUT I DO NOT NEED nor WANT the AI function which seems to be the excuse for almost doubling the annual subscription fee. Give me a non-AI version for close to the “old” fee and I’d be very happy with Evernote.
Now Cluttered and Over Complicated
Evernote’s strongest feature, when i first signed up, was its simplicity and ease of use. Today it is a cluttered mess with so many features that I, and I suspect most users, never use. Even the search is over-complicated and irritating. I would move tomorrow to a simple free service like Apple Notes if I could easily transfer my 1,000’s of pages of notes.

Notes are not opening in my ipad pro, no costumer service
I have been using Evernote for mare than 7 years for my meetings, sermon, etc. But for some reason notes are not opening in my new ipad pro. I have not found a costumer service phone or help to fix this. Ill get an alternartive soon.
Back button too close to undo
Keep accidentally removing edits because back and undo buttons way too close to each other.
Not great anymore
For many years I used this, I was an early user, and it had its bumps but it basically did what I needed. Which is take plain text notes on different topics and they were easily searchable within the note. Now it is so slow. I have a very long note. Just plain text. Entering new text is like entering text on a tv keyboard. Very slow to recognize the input. The search bar frequently pops you out when typing a search. It’s now a terrible app for my simple needs. They update it a lot with bug fixes and new cool AI features etc but this basic thing of entering text and searching is not what they are optimizing for anymore. Oh yeah I also pay $200/yr for the upgraded version. Help and customer service are useless.
An excellent note taking application…but
A subscription price of over $150/year, when paid annually, is ENTIRELY TOO HIGH!! I will no longer be a subscriber when my current subscription expires. That is obscene from what once was a free app
Too expensive
I’ve been an Evernote user for 10 years. Sadly I’m transitioning to another app this month before my subscription runs out next month. If the cost was reasonable I would gladly continue, but $249 to renew is over the top.
The ads are DISRUPTIVE!
I’ve been using this for years, BUT within a few seconds of attempting to hot important notes, comes a LOUD ad. It’s especially embarrassing when it goes off in a professional environment and disruptive with my thoughts. If this isn’t fixed, I will soon have to drop this app. How disappointing!

Find a safer place for your notes
Evernote was never perfect, but in the last couple years it has become a mismanaged and desperate app struggling to stay relevant at the expense of its core users. There are many better alternatives out there. If you’re already stuck in Evernote find a new home for your notes before this company crashes.
Bring back notes remaining open
I’ve used this app for years and until recently I’ve had no complaints. I’ve marked it down 2 stars because the latest updates have removed the apps ability for a note being worked on to remain open and at the position it was left. This is hugely frustrating, having to scroll and scroll to find the right position again. This is a back step. Also, there is no way to contact the developers. As a paid up member, this is unacceptable.

I've been with Evernote since 2010 so I consider myself a loyal customer. This new price increase is too much. From $143 to $269 is an enormous jump. The alternative is a basic plan that requires elimination of notes for $99. It is time to say goodbye to Evernote.

Terrible spell checker
This app would be much better if its autocorrect spell checker actually came even remotely close to being accurate. Not sure if this is an Apple iOS thing or an issue with the app but it is rarely even close to choosing the correct word I am typing
Please make a connector with ChatGPT
I have used Evernote for years. I have loved it. I use it for work, church, family history research, to-do lists, etc. But it has felt like the search functionality has become less and less effective. And more and more I want to have an AI that is proven and tested that can have access to my notes and can help me find meaning in them. Evernote - please allow ChatGPT to have a connector without notes library.
Can’t Live without my Evernote
This notebook app has been so useful to me over the years. Very convenient and easy to use. I use it for so many things. Organizing all of my recipes; home renovation notes, photos, and links; work related notes; audio recordings; video recordings, etc.
Do More for Free Elsewhere
Found out I could do everything Evernote was doing for me on other apps like Joplin, UpNote, OneNote for free or a fraction of the unbelievable $250/year Evernote started to charge me. The UNREAL pricing finally forced me to migrate after years of use. Avoid this ridiculously priced app and get all the same features you need for free or very inexpensive elsewhere. It’s a truly unreasonable price and no longer worth it after the latest price hike.
My main app for capturing EVERYTHING for reference later. But it ain’t cheap.
I love Evernote for its ease of use and speed. I trust it with the details of my life. So I was shocked as a fixed income senior when the annual price soared. Will look around before my next renewal.

Overpriced because of unhelpful ai features
I’ve used Evernote daily for over a decade. It was great in 2014, it had all the features I needed. But now at $249 per year it’s more per year than my actual iPhone. They kept adding features I didn’t need and changing functionality, not to mention constant updates on all devices. I didn’t want to leave, but I migrated my workflow to other less expensive apps.
Really getting better
I use all the note apps, I have my older notes here and when I come back to reference I am now finding myself considering making this primary. One note. Obsidian are my others
Finally quit
User since 2011 & had to pay a subscription of $22 a month just to continue to access my old notes. I had 6 notebooks, 259 notes. Not heavy user at all. There is no ‘entry’ price. I think they only WANT enterprise customers. Finally exported everything to UpNote & paid their lifetime subscription of $40 (less than two months of Evernote)
Been using as a full paid pro user since 2009
Indispensable - daily use app. Massively improved lately. However a big complaint is the free offering, which imho should simply curtail upload limits, nothing else. Hard to encourage or collaborate with new users like this. Also bring back Atlas, notes on a map. Pretty please. Also needs Apple cal support and improved usability before too much added focus on AI functions
Management is on the wrong track
Your users don’t want daily inane updates and constant pop-up messages about irrelevant stuff that you have changed. Your users don’t want massive price increases when the way they use the software has not changed. Your users don’t appreciate self-congratulatory messages regarding all of the “great” things you’ve done to supposedly improve the application. Just stop. We are tired of being abused by corporations.
Audio recorder not working in iPhone/iPad
The Audio recorder is not working in iPhone/iPad. This is a perennial issue; the function seems to work for a short while, then stops working. Considering the high subscription rates charged for using this app, one expects value for money.

I used this for years, but I have stopped because the prices are just ridiculous. I’m using apple notes now. It’s not a feature rich but it is free.

I can no longer use Evernote due to update pop up. I have no access to my notes. I am in a situation where I cannot pay for update. I just want to access my current notes. Please fix this. I tried to go into my settings, but the update pop up prevents any use. You made my Evernote basically useless.

Price gouging - no customer service
They have doubled their price without adding any extra functionality that I use. For more than two years, they have not replied to a single customer service request of mine. I tried reaching out on numerous media platforms, email, phone, etc. ... crickets. Do not waste your money on them.
New updates appearing weekly
Since Evernote was taken over by Bending Spoons around the beginning of 2023 they’re really gathering pace pushing out performance updates and new features. Check out the release history! I knocked a star off because the iPad app still doesn’t quite have all the features of Evernote Desktop, and at this point I’m not sure that’s necessary, such as the ability to Merge Notes or add a URL to the Note Info. At least I can a fall back to using the Web version in Safari to fill in these gaps.
Ever ready Evernote
Unfortunately it just got too expensive for me after using it for many years. I also felt it became too complicated and bloated. Do I have moved to Apple Notes and it was the right choice.
New updates
The new update which eliminates the ability to choose fonts & sizing in favour of the H1 -Large Header H2 - Medium Header H3 - Small Header is not a great feature It is so much better to be able to choose the font & size of the font If possible can this be corrected
Have used this for years
This has been great for me. I think I started using it well over a decade ago but might be longer and have found it works well for photos, recipes, business planning and writing. Don’t want to tempt fate but I’ve never had a security breach or problem accessing my own info securely. I’ve used it for family NHS numbers, pins, and for uploading copies of key docs like wills and reports. The tag system lets me search for info quickly - I use years, interests, names, towns, shopping sites and randomly add tags that makes sense to my random brain.
Struggling to Justify
I’ve been using Evernote for YEARS. But the price increase is really hard for me to justify. Really don’t want to lose all my notes, but I am considering it.
Love it! But the PRICE?
I love this app, I use it every single day, mostly for journaling and organizing and some of the Ai features. I have been using it for over 10 years. I have been bumping along with price increases over the years, but this latest one has me looking at other options.
That’s it I’m cancelling my subscription
I used to love this platform. It was a beacon of clarity and purpose in a sea of half baked nonsense, one that did what you needed it to. Now it’s a bad ux that constantly misbehaves, that no one seems to want to fix. They’re also taking the apple approach of ignoring their userbase and forums with none of the good design. And now they’re AI first!? That’s the line - I’m sick of the subscription model, and every use of this app is a depressing reminder of just how far it has fallen.
