Good but minor criticism
I love the app so far, but there’s one thing I wish it did; that being when I check off a task that repeats indefinitely, that it temporarily makes that task disappear until the new time period restarts. So if I have a task that repeats weekly, and I compete it on the second day and check it off, that task only reappears once the week is over and the new one begins. Currently if you mark off a task it’ll still stay in your list as if it hasn’t been completed. This is a minor thing but I would really appreciate this feature.
Completely loses items
I had a long list of items in a ‘project’ I had laboriously copied ovet from Apple Reminders app. Today opened Todoist and 90% of them were gone without a trace. Not marked completed, not marked deleted, not even appearing at all in the ‘activity’ section as having been entered. I can only guess required syncing to Todoist servers rather than much superior local storage is completely broken and a SEVERE risk for anyone using this app. Avoid at all costs.

Very nice and good features, really helps with organizing your to-dos. The problem is that unless you pay 5 dollars a month for pro, it is a little tricky to navigate the app, but I totally recommend trying the app.
Mostly great but notifications suck
It’s extremely difficult to find comments made on tasks. I get a notification, but what task does it belong to???
Pay-to-play
This app could be perfect if you didn’t have to pay for the essential features. You can’t have alerts (pretty important for a calendar app/to-do list).

This has been a game changer for my life and business. If I could only have one business app on my phone it would be Todoist
App is trash
No reason to download this app is because it’s supposed to integrate with ChatGPT. Unfortunately, every time you tell ChatGPT to put this as a reminder or put this on my calendar, it comes back and says sorry. There’s a hiccup on our end. I can’t integrate that really is happening every single time both apps are up-to-date. It just doesn’t work.
Missing feature even in paid version
I love this app but there is a particular weakness that is frustrating. If I make a list of things to do that have associated deadlines, it kind of disappears until it’s due. I want it to stay in my todo list and be a reminder that it’s coming up. They could have a feature that says when it appears on the calendar (as distinct from a due date). I also wish the widget would have the option to display the inbox rather than whatever is due today.
Was great until it wasnt
This app was very useful and simple, all of the sudden it just stopped working. I cannot reorganize the tasks at all which sucks greatly.
Sometimes Frustrating
I this app because it was suggested to me on an ADHD Facebook group. I have the pro version and use the Urgent alerts on everything. Todoist misses alerting me about my tasks, often or it sometimes alerts me several hours after the task is scheduled and I’ve already marked it as completed.
Went from $23 to $60 /year. Can't select no access to photos. After 6 yrs i should be grandf'thed in
How rude are they. Their support sucks, i asked them to give my photos "no access" months ago. I started with them at $23/ yr. They added a lot of featured i don't need and raised their pro plan to $60/yr. After 6 years i should be grandfathered in by now. Sucky little app.

I've enjoyed using Todoist. However, I think the recent update to the app has completely broken my widget? It wasn't updating to show my updated project, so I deleted the widget and put it back, and after putting it back the widget is entirely black. I'm on iOS 18.7.8, if it helps.
Link with Windows Computer
Very difficult to sync Apple account with windows computer. Not convenient and efficient to user

I have been using Todoist and really like the product, but I ran into a critical bug that locked me out of my account. My original account was created via Sign in with Apple. When I tried to update my account email address, I accidentally typed in an incorrect email address that belongs to someone else. Todoist sent the verification email to that wrong third‑party address. Now I cannot log in with my original Apple account anymore. I also cannot log in using that wrong email since it is not mine. I have no way to complete the verification step and regain access to my Todoist data.

One Small Bug
So far, this app has been pretty good. The UI is neat and the features are easy to use, I definetly want to incorporate this into my daily routines. However, when I am looking at the “Inbox” or “Today” list, I am unable to see everything I have to complete there because it’s like there is a black box covering some of the tasks. It’s not like it’s a big, black square, but the tasks are being covered by something that is identical to the background of the app, which I have on dark mode. I have to tap over the area to get it to go away. It’s not a big deal but it is a bit annoying and I think fixing it would make the app better, move smoother, and improve user experience.
Almost awesome
The review is based on the value for multiple users of a paid subscription. The fact that this isn’t eligible for family sharing is a dealbreaker for the paid subscription- we fortunately realized before the free period ran out. We wanted to pay for the app, but the cost is too high when the free version is good enough. If we could do family share on a pro subscription, it would be perfect.
Calendar is the one big disappointment
I’m confused why I can’t sync my iCloud or a CalDav calendar with Todoist. I was hoping to move away from Google Calendar so it sucks that the options are so limited. I considered creating my own Todoist integration, but I don’t think the SDK allows me to sync calendar events. Looking for an app that can handle tasks and events with my family. The tasks part is great but the calendar really makes it hard for me to commit my family to it.
Best todo app
Best todo app so far. Love the integration with Claude. 2 minor annoyances, the speech to text on mobile isn’t the best and the constant attempt at dating numbers is annoying.
Nice app with extortion pricing
$60/year for a todo list? Are you guys out of your minds? This app should be $5-$10 one time. A subscription at all is insane. Greed at its finest.

Great to do list app, but I wish it had better project capabilities and could handle tasks in various stages of completion.

I was enjoying it but with software updates it tells me to download the latest version but will not allow it (I guess the new version can’t be run on older platforms). So, it still asks me to download the new version each time I open it, and it now no longer syncs between devices. And, as far as I can tell, there is NO WAY to contact customer support or get any help with it. A useful tool which has become a time suck..
RIP Google Calendar Integration
Used to love the app but since they killed off the old 2-way Google calendar integration, my use case for it has died
The app that got me through a BA, MS, and now PhD
I downloaded this app my freshman year of undergrad, shortly after finding out I had ADHD. Keeping track of all the things I have to do and assignments I need to remember has always been a huge struggle, and this app has been a LIFESAVER. It clears up so much mental clutter to just immediately put tasks and reminders into my inbox, and then be able to prioritize and reschedule them. I used this all through my bachelors and masters degrees, and am now using it during my PhD program! I also love being able to set recurring reminders and organizing them by project. The free tier has worked well for me, and I really appreciate not having necessary features behind a paywall. Please never change this app!!
Great until you lose everything
App is great to use and have been using for several months…..until all my tasks disappeared. There is no way of getting them back so cannot rely on app going future. A huge inconvenience tbh. Would not recommend.
One feature is missing
Each time I use my checklist template, I need to go manually toggle ‘’completed task’’ to see them. If only I could toggle that feature for my workspace or for my account I would change my rating for a 5/5. Great app all around!
It’s a mess
At this price and stage of development, I would really expect Apple calendar sync. Without it this app is useless to me. Also no import from other apps and the user interface is a lot more confusing than it used to be. Not a fan currently.
Expect Spam
Downloaded this app, looks great and has great functionality, but I thought the in app purchases were quite expensive. The set up process includes giving your email and since deleting the app they haven’t stopped emailing me. I know businesses have to market their products but this is bordering on harassment
A calm single dad with 2 jobs and 10 kids
All I can say is that with my ADHD focus was the biggest issue in my life. Staying up all night from worry My brain never turning off. Todoist had me going in a couple of minutes. It been such a success organizing my life that I upgraded my “set up “ to add a 3rd screen where I can refer to it all day. Don’t let the simple interface fool you. There some powerful organizing tools inside. It’s been 3 months and the only reason I am writing this review is because I scheduled it on Todoist.
Bloated
This app has gotten very bloated for personal use. Not recommended. Why is there no option to remove teams functionality?
Good but…
It’s a great app and I’ve relied on it for to do lists for several years now. But the most irritating failure of this app is when you don’t do recurring tasks by midnight. You then either have to reassign them to the next day or, if you tick to say they’re done, then they don’t reappear until the following day, meaning you might miss them for a day. It’s a deeply irritating flaw … and the reason why I’m writing this review just after midnight one night!
Great app but price increase coming
Loved using this app but they are nearly doubling the Pro subscription price for 2026 to cover new features (AI stuff). I can’t justify £60 a year for a todo app.
Frustrating vs the desktop experience
Frustrating limitations vs the desktop experience in terms of displaying descriptions (I don’t care about comments, I’m using Todoist for myself) and not rendering markdown…

Unusable latest update
They’ve updated the IOS so that when you bulk manage your tasks you can no longer see what the priority category is. So you’re bulk managing in the dark. Takes 10 times longer now as I have to flick the bulk manage on and off and try to remember the priority category of each task. Switching to a different app.
Still great
My original account was opened in 2010, so have seen the changes. I have used other apps on and off but Todoist has been on my computer for over 15 years. An apple calendar integration (and the possibility of having multiple simultaneous connections) would improve this app to make it back onto my dock.
Notifications and reminders no longer work
I’ve been a user for many years, but recently the most important feature for me, notifications and reminders, no longer work. I’ve raised this with support and the didn’t offer any help or explanation. I’m a paying customer and on an annual plan until August so it fees like they assume I can’t go anywhere so what does it matter. So disappointed in the company I’ve been a huge advocate of for years.
Todoist - an honest review
While MacOS’s Reminders is actually quite good, Todoist’s presence on Mac OSx, iOS, Windows & via the web means wherever I am, I can capture the demands on my time & also manage my existing tasks in an easy fashion - it is proving a real driver to make me more responsible for all the demands on my time

I downloaded this app to use and I did not find it helpful at all. I did not ask for marketing and all it does is email me every single day even though I have deleted the app and unsubscribed from emails.
Pro subscription price too high
Love the app and the supported platforms it runs on. As a now legacy pro member, I’m disappointed the doubling of the subscription in order to keep getting new features so remove a star.

Almost perfect
I use this everyday for both personal and business. I’ve only found one thing annoying. Example: if I write that I want to prepare for my Thursday meeting or for something on a specific date it will put it on the calendar for that Thursday or the date mentioned.

I used to used this a lot back when I was in uni. It was such a big staple in my daily routine. It’s kinda sucky now that you have to pay monthly/yearly just to access the most simple features such as setting a reminder… like at this point just use Apple’s reminders app. I seriously wouldn’t have mind it if it was a one-time purchase but a subscription? no thanks.
Doesn’t sync between my Apple devices
I’ve been testing free version for a couple of months on my iPad and like it. Decided to roll out to my other devices. I log, in but it doesn’t sync which is pretty hopeless. Shame, liked the concept, but seems I’ll have to search for an alternative which is less clunky.
Delete all records
I'm very disappointed that while I joined in February on my results before mid June been deleted or inaccessible and todoist support couldn't help.
