I’m sure there are directions somewhere, but it isn’t intuitive for someone who’s autistic and has ADHD.
PLEASE create a way to have “Urgent” enabled by DEFAULT for all or certain calendar events!!!
Fantastical Team; You guys have made a pretty awesome product, but it's got one major issue. You have got to give us a way to have certain calendar events with the "Urgent" toggle enabled BY ***DEFAULT.*** I invested in this app because I have the moderate to severe ADHD and I also get pulled in a zillion different directions so I cannot remember to create a calendar event to remind me to do something, but then ALSO remember to set a reminder so that my calendar actually reminds me in the first place....... I'm honestly pretty surprised this isn't an option. I would be unbelievably appreciative if you guys implemented that, whether it's to have a specific calendar where all events are always marked as urgent or something..... I am a paying customer too by the way. Otherwise, really like this app.
Bad update
Latest update makes it impossible to have multiple alerts set for one event. This is something I use with every event. I am really unhappy with this update!
Great but such flaws
I have been using Fantastical for several years now. It is pretty great in so many ways. But I am SO frustrated at it’s “intelligence”. Again and again it will read what I type and thinks it knows better than me. I am just noting to lead a service on Remembrance Sunday, so select 8th November and type “Remembrance Sunday 10:30” - as soon as it sees “Sunday” it pops into next Sunday. If I don’t notice I’m stuffed (I know not to trust it fortunately). I end up typing “RemembSnday’ so it can’t read it. Commonly I want to type on the evening before an upcoming dental appointment “remember dentist tomorrow”. And of course it brings it forward to tomorrow. Infuriating. YOU CANT SWITCH THIS OFF IN SETTINGS! As a result I am looking for another app, but will be sorry to move in many ways.
Love it!
Much better to use than the standard phone calendars. I like it and it has simplified my life.
Flexibits Premium
I spent way too much money to buy this app, for lifetime. Now, just a few years later, I can’t respond to an invitiation without having “Flexibit Premium”. Okay, thanks! Will go to Google Calendar, I won’t buy a lifetime subscription, plus also have to pay a monthly subscription. Thank you, I’m out!
Great app locked behind paywall
Great app, works well. Shame that it’s full potential is locked behind an expensive £60 per year (with a discount) pay wall. Think I’ll start looking else where.
No drag and drop?
Looks good but lacks basic functionality like drag and drop Edit: 1. You don't respond to emails. 2. You can't help to "get something working" when the option is not available Edit 3: drag and drop works in weekly view but not in monthly
AI Integration Killed The App
I’ve been a Fantastical user since they started, but recent changes have broken the app for me making it unusable. After the most recent update, I was prompted to sign into my workplace account (which has worked just fine for years), only to find that Fantastical access to Microsoft 365 had been blocked. When I reached out to my IT department, they responded saying that it had been flagged by Microsoft due to their new AI and permissions it requested, and it could not be safely approved since it can be subject to prompt injection attacks. I’ve forwarded the information to Flexibits (who have always been fantastic when bugs have cropped up) and hope for some sort of resolution in the near future. Since this isn’t a bug and an unintended consequence resulting from the AI boom, I’m afraid that this will be the first of many apps that are broken while companies figure out their responses to AI, agentic workflows, customer data privacy, etc.
Looking for help
I’m resorting to writing a review because I cannot find support for my problem anywhere. I have Fantastical on my iPhone. I’m new and it’s working great! I installed it on my Mac. This is where I’m having trouble. I signed in using my same credentials. It does not show anything in the calendar. I try to add an event and it says no calendar found. I pull the calendar drop down box down and there isn’t any calendars there either. I signed out of Fantasical on iPhone, created a new password, then signed back into both iPhone and Mac. Still not syncing. BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO SUPPORT!
Way to defraud your clients!
Still can’t believe I paid the FULL price for this app, only for them to switch to a monthly subscription app and disqualify all early adopters from enjoying all future upgrades and key features. The Apple calendar now does more than this app. Really disappointed.
Great! BUT 1 option missing
After being with BusyCal for almost 15 years, I chose to move to Fantastical. The reason: Lately, BusyCal would not sync across all my devices and other problems. I really like Fantastical. It is FAST and syncs very quickly across all devices. BUT… yes, there is a BIG BUT that really doesn’t sits well with me. I have only ONE (1) suggestion please and I sincerely hope and pray that Fantastical would incorporate this suggestion into the next update… This option is available in BusyCal but not on Fantastical. In Fantastical Calendar view, I have an option if I want to show Tasks in Calendar. I have an option to turn it on or off. However, that is not the case in Fantastical Tasks List. Fantastical forces us to view all events and appointments of Fantastical Calendar in Tasks list. I strongly believe that would be a welcome option to have in the Tasks list if someone does not want to list all appointments and events in Tasks. Thank you for considering this. Best.
It’s gotten so buggy
I’ve used Fantastical since it was first released years and years ago. The past few years, it seems to forget I added events and show the draft of them when I open the app later, even though the event is already saved to my calendar. The back button on the Location selector screen doesn’t work half the time. It’ll randomly put extra alerts into events that I didn’t choose. All this is a bummer, because Apple’s calendar app is also terrible. But Fantastical used to be good. I don’t know if they lost the QA team or what, but it’s declined significantly in recent years.

June 2026 - tapping iOS push notifications from the lock screen STILL CRASH FANTASTICAL, years later. Crashes when tapping alerts over many, many versions. The failed promise of subscription software. The app is as buggy as ever. I want to love it but the software quality and especially the awful “Natural language recommendations” which only gets in the way of entering data. NOTE TO DEVELOPER: This is NOT a support request. Lost my Data
I just lost all my data on the update of this app. I’m not sure how to get it back. I also do not like the update at all. I loved this app before, but now I will be looking for another one.
Good, not Great yet
Lots of cool features and efficient templates. But the forced all-day meetings template that’s hardcoded and can’t be taken off default mode is very annoying.
On the way out
Apples own native calendar is fast dissolving Fantastic Cals USPs. Apples doesn’t require a hefty (and pointless subscription).
Foreign holidays can’t be removed
I wish we could remove the events that we not only don’t want, like foreign holidays, but they appear twice, sometimes 4 times on our calendar👹
Still a blessing!
Siri still isn’t smart for most of us, so Fantastical is still a blessing to have! (Even when new Siri FINALLY allegedly arrives, I’ll probably still utilize the ease of copy and pasting a lot stuff/information into Fantastical and have it sort it into a logical calendar entry for me.) It’s not perfect but it’s overall reliable and super easy to use and then adjust calendar entires slightly for there if needed. A go-to essential app for all apple users still!

Love it, except for the jumpy UI
Exceptional app, with great thought put into all aspects of the design. If I could change one thing, it would be to add a preference setting to turn off language parsing. I can see how some would find it helpful to have people and places automatically tagged in relevant tasks and calendar entries. But I find the interface to be too “jumpy”—every new letter I type causes the search engine to search again, so that there is a distracting, ever-changing dropdown menu overlaying the screen as I type (even when I try to “escape” the parsing by typing a quotation mark before the event title. Most of the time I just want the time and title to be the way I write it, without having people and locations tagged.
Some “premium” features aren’t worth it/have work arounds
The features that Fantastical wants you to pay for are a bit ridiculous. Pay to add a custom color to the calendar? To add an emoji? Seriously guys?! There are ways to do these things already if you use your head for more than a hat rack. 😏🤫😆Why should I pay for premium? 🤨
Why do people swear by Fantastical?
The UX is confusing. App integration seems to be the only perk. I’m always second guessing myself if this event I add via Fantastical is going to register. Happy to explain further.
Very easy to add new appointments
New appointment can be added by typing a sentence or speaking into the microphone on my IPhone. Also allows me to set multiple reminders. Very useful app.
Task - big fail
Unfinished task carryover to the next day however, when you mark it as complete it revert back to the original day so you have no idea when you actually completed the task. This is a basic function that most all other calendar apps have correctly. It should be on the calendar on the day completed. Also wish they would add “Link Contacts” this would be great to reach out to contacts you have appointments with.
Incrementally better
This is marginally better than Apple’s own calendar but not enough to be ‘Wow’. However, there are a few features that make it step ahead. For me, that’s Openings, where you can send a link to allow people to choose a meeting time with you. There are well known competitors for this feature, but Fantastical works with iCloud calendars as well as Google etc. So if you run your diary on even partly on the Apple ecosystem and want people to book meetings with you on free slots across all your diaries, Fantastical fits the bill.
Too expensive
The app seems fairly good, but the price is crazy and I won’t extend my free trial. I like their event list widget, especially, but not enough to pay £60/yr.
Was great, until....
This app was great until one feature disappeared when I upgraded to the iPhone Air... The lock screen monthly display widget! It's not available and it's the only reason I was using this app. Time to find an alternative.
A great combination of calendar and tasks
A great melding of calendar events with tasks; I use it to govern my whole life! Easy to enter items, and very reliable. Syncs well with iCloud and all my devices. A few minor glitches (such as entering a new task; if you go to enter a “note“ right after putting in the title, the cursor bounces right back up to the title, requiring you to scroll back down to click on “note” a second time). But overall a great app at very low cost.
Numbers
Whenever I enter a number or a date and then try to save it everything disappears. Like tonight I wrote a reminder to call our ac company for 6/26 the numbers disappear. I tried writing it 3 different ways and ways and wa h time the numbers disappear. Why
Full month view with events widget
Love your app. Can we have an interactive (one that you could jump back and forth between months) widget that shows the full month view with events showing on each date box? 🙏🙏
not impressed
I gave this app a go, based on the flashy video showing a very nice looking template, but all I got is a bog standard copy of Apple calendar which cannot be modified to even resemble the video look, but it comes with a price tag. I have deleted the app and cancelled the free trial.
A Great Product, but too expensive for a calendar
I used to have a paid version of Fantastical which I loved. However, when the annual subscription jumped to near £60 a year I had to stop. I couldn’t justify such an amount (more than many of my other apps) for a calendar when I had an almost as good one already for free from Apple. Don’t get me wrong, Fantastical still has better functionality, much better design and more features than Calendar and I miss not being able to color my appointments but when you retire, some things have to go and this is one of them. Please have a smaller annual charge with less bells and whistles than for business users as a lot of the functionality you are introducing I just wouldn’t use. I’d even be happy to pay a smaller amount for features I use.
The best calendar app, hands-down!
I had no idea all of the functionality that Fantastical offers. I initially intended to use it as a compliment to my Apple Calendar, but it has proven to be a replacement for that. It has such a beautiful and easy to navigate UI. It makes me love adding things to the calendar. The email to calendar is especially helpful. If I had any wish for something more, it would be for Fantastical to come out with a Web app. I know there is an app for use on a laptop, but my job does not allow me to download it. So I take my iPad to work and use it if I need to schedule any personal appointments. Thank you thank you for making a wonderful app and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Crashes all the time, what is going on?
Latest iOS 26, iPhone Air, Microsoft corp account. It crashes when creating certain events and then it crashes all the time. Can't do anything with the app anymore. In the past I fix this by quickly deleting the event but now I cannot do it. It is just infinitely crashing. I hope your analytics can capture this.
Excellent calendar App
It does all, and more, that I need. I’m subtracting one star as I feel it is somewhat overpriced for what it offers.
Glitches
I’ve been using this for 5+ years but it’s getting worse, keeps losing addresses so I keep having to ring customers back.
Reassigns dates & times
There are many good points to the app. It behaves oddly if you insert an event with some key words. For example it will automatically assign any event that contains the word “Christmas” to 25 December even if you type in a different day. Similarly with the word “Valentine”. No doubt there will be others
Best Calendar!!!
This has got to be the best calendar app available. I wish it had the capability to print out a monthly calendar.
Too expensive
I’ve always loved this application but as a individual non business user this is a hefty price to pay monthly subscription for in this tough economy I need more value to justify the spend
Great features
The ability to work well with multiple accounts is great, although setting them up numerous times on each device is a bit of a headache. The iOS app isn’t bug free, it seems to randomly scroll all over the place when you’re moving an event and you can’t create a new event by simply tapping and dragging like in Google Calendar.
Alert’s custom date - time setting broken
It is impossible to set time of a custom alert earlier than the current time 🤦🏻♂️ Even if the date is in the future the time picker ALWAYS moves to the current time if you try to set it to an earlier hour …
Better than Calendar but clunky
In terms of features, active development, multiple account capabilities and notifications, this is the best app I've used for managing my calendars, and has been for years. But, I can't currently unsee the clunkiness of using the app. Scrolling my list of events isn't smooth - the list seems to jump about whilst scrolling. Scrolling the day picker to certain days makes the event list jump about, and doesn't show the first event of the day usually. I hope it improves but I've seen this constantly for a while now. I assume it's because I have multiple calendars, but I can't be sure.
Best Calendar Ever
What a great calendar! So easy to use. Easy to change. Works easily across all my devices. I cannot imagine using another calendar!
Great to Now Trash Ad-Spam
Used to be a great app on free and paid tier. Great UI/UX…beyond aggressive and intrusive promos to upgrade to premium now every time you use it or add any single appointment. Just use Apple or Google Calendar instead.
Great app!
However, the view is not developed well. It all seems cramped together (when you look from a week) and too limited when looking on a single day, perhaps add a view of several days. The desktop app keeps crashing whilst choosing the time for a task Overall, I have tried many apps and have found this one to be the best for my needs.
Not the best, but good
It's a nice calendar app, but £60 a year for a simple calendar app, that’s ridiculous.
Good but…
Everything works great, except I don’t get on with the natural language input and find I have to keep correcting things because it’s getting it wrong. I’ve asked the developers to include a toggle, so it can simply be switched off, but for some reason, they won’t include this, not sure why. I think there is a solution if you include the text in inverted commas or something like that, but why should I have to do that every time, particularly as I voice dictate more than I type on my phone.
