Excellent
Easy to use; fast; perfectly cooked food!
Smart product apocalypse
Who thought that this would be a good idea. Just use a normal sous vide
Difficult to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit
Generally, a good app however, the temperature unit can only be set in the Settings page. It would be much better to have the option to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius in the enter cooking temperature screen.
Persistent Connection issues
App consistently loses connection with device, often resulting in cancellation of a cook.
Review
Joule Sous Vide up
yougurt
Love making L. reuturi yougurt with reliable temp.
Simple Review
Cook times are not correct after using Joule for many years. Luckily I documented times and temps for things I cook.
Nice but would prefer a “Cooking about done” notice also
The setup process is straightforward. I’m just getting into all the features but one thing would be helpful is that it would send to the phone a notice that cooking is getting near the end.
Alarm issue
My alarm isn’t going off when my cook is finished. Had I not just happened to be looking at my phone I Would have missed when it was time to pull the food
Bring old recipes back
Bought my oven 2 years ago and having this app played a crucial role in how much I love the cooking experience with it. However, i recently noticed more than 60% of my favorite recipes were removed! What is the deal here? It is frustrating that they removed good recipes from the app and keep all the ad videos on there telling us all about boxed meals or other products. Disappointing!
Cool kitchen
Keeps my kitchen cool. I have no air conditioning in So Cal and a professional stove that throws out a lot of heat. I only have to stand over the stove for 5 minutes to sear perfectly cooked meat
Disappointed
I opted to buy the more premium joule air fryer pro instead of the standard model for 100$ less specifically for the autopilot feature and the app however I come I’ve come to find that the autopilot recipes are very few and sparce and tend to be for things like frozen foods I’ve owned this oven for about a year now and have not seen the recipes update on the app either nothing new added in over a year wth this is what you get for 500$?
Niceee
So many receipts, minus one because it doesn’t scale to my ipad screen yet + much improvement can be made to autopilote. So far so good, keep it up.
would be better without the app
very inconvenient that you have to have an app to use it. to create an account, download an app, and then a second one when the first one isn’t working anymore, and then you’re logged out with a 15min lock bc you forgot your passcode… it’s a cooking app, it’s not that deep and shouldn’t be this hard. would not recommend for a commercial setting for these reasons plus the urgency to set up— which i am unfortunately stuck with for now.
No Audible Notifcation Upon Cook End
I would love to love this app. It runs the sous vide just fine, but I need to set the timer on my phone since the app doesn’t audibly notify when it’s finished unless the app is OPEN on screen. Not running in the background, OPEN.
My Favorite way to cook!
The app makes it so easy and fun! I wish everyone had a Breville Suis Vide and the Breville app!
Good product, garbage app
Product design is solid. But then they'll stop supporting the app you were using and force you to create an account so they can spam you with emails. The setup process is trash and when you just want to cook it really cheeses you off to see how many obstacles they manage to throw in your way to prevent that.
A good start
Although my Breville smart oven is not compatible with the app and I can't speak on that, I do like the tips and recipes. I am hoping more will be added in the nearest future! I love my Breville countertop appliances!
Not easy to get this app working
I haven’t used my joule in a while, and I’m tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to make this transition to the Breville + app. I keep asking them to send me a link to change my password and I never receive anything. I’ve gone to my profile and I’m using the correct email address so I don’t know what the deal is but this clearly isn’t working. I’m about ready to throw out the device and buy a competitive brand!
Too complicated
The app is too complicated. They really just need to simplify things. I do not need a whole recipe. I just need my meat cooked with turbo. Simplify things for those of us who don’t care about a recipe.
I LOVE MY BREVILLE
I own several Breville products; Smart Grinder Pro Conical Burr Grinder, Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, and a Joule Turbo Sous Vide. All of these have exceeded my expectations in performance, ease of use, and durability. I appreciate Breville’s commitment to quality and functionality. I am a happy customer for life!
Hate Breville! Stole my Joule
Will not connect to my joule! Completely obsoleted the joule app. N way to use my damn tool!
Needs to add Live Activities
Overall, I’m very happy with the app. However, I think it would be great for user experience to add Live Activities to know how much time is left without having to open the app. Other than that, it’s great!
The link to enable Alexa integration doesn’t work
The guide to add the device to Alexa has a link which does not work. Alexa cannot find the device when attempting to add device at its side.
I hate this app
I never write reviews. But this app appears to have been a concerted effort to take everything that was good about the Joule app and make it bad. And take everything that was bad about the Joule app and leave it unaddressed. I want to give it one star because I’m so angry and frustrated at this POS. The bottom line: when my Joule breaks, I’m not buying another one.
The BEST!
I don’t cook much other than steaks, but WOW! I’ll never eat another steak except at home!
Bloatware, had to throw out my Joule
Software does not work, had to throw out my Joule and buy a new sous vide. Shoot the PE Gus who bought this company!!
More bugs
When a cooking cycle has started, it’s no longer possible to add a timer. You have to cancel the cook and start from scratch…
Not a good start
Doesn’t even connect to the wifi network- trouble shooting is genetic grandma tech problem faqs it also says my browser is not supported which is Brave. Update: I actually fixed it by splitting the home wifi network into two one on 5gz and one on 2.4ghz which was half guesswork with ChatGPT the actual app should mention this in its error messages versus generic messages out of app. The initial UX is poor. After connecting the UI is not clear enough because it still says not connected but above in hard to see text it says wait or something like that- i ended up going around that loop a few times before realizing it was trying. If I ran this app I would run through all this and fix it in a week.
Patty
The best oven I’ve ever had . Love it 😃😃👍
WiFi required?
The device obviously worked just fine using Bluetooth under Joule.
Still buggy
Works with old Joule and they finally added a personal cook history. However have not found a way to delete an entry from cook history. ——————————————-, Attempted first cook with old joule. Got message a minute in from new app indicating propeller not working which was true. Could not reset. Went back to old grey app. Propeller and joule immediately starting working with no issue. Before using old app I checked propeller and it was moving freely. New app remained frozen even after iPad reboot. ————————- NewApp flags propeller as still not working stopping any further use of the new app ———————————— No I’m good thanks. Just deleted every thing , rebooted everything. Will give the app one last chance.
Oatmeal cookies
Oatmeal cookies was the first food I cooked with my new oven. I recently moved into a new apartment and needed something versatile so that I can bake and cook everything that I love this is the best purchase I’ve made in years.
Can’t use my joule anymore
My joule is connected to my phone’s Bluetooth, but the app refuses to connect. The old Joule app worked perfectly. My meal prep is ruined for the week.
Cannot add manual cook info!
Despite years of end users requesting the ability to add notes or titles to manual cooks the company has never responded with an appropriate update. Many home chefs are creative and shouldn’t be forced to use all the canned recipes that ARE tracked. What if you tweak and ingredient here or a process there? No ability to make margin notes and to me that really is a problem. A database can be modified to add or modify the fields without massive dev effort as far as I know. I really hope this “Breville+” app has finally provided what users have been asking for over the past 8 years!
Huge improvement to the Joule app
My original Chefs Steps Joule Sous Vide was practically a paper weight using the old Joule app. This app is so much more reliable, useful and easy to use! So glad Breville saved my immersion cooker
Breville bs
I do not want my contact information, my cooking history—I don’t want anything from my kitchen appliance to go on the Internet. I used to love using this but now it’s useless because I can’t get it started because I can’t get the app because I have a password that I don’t wanna type in. I just done with this.
Works as labeled
The app is easy and self explanatory. The temperature control is precise as too the timing. It could use an automatic shutoff when the time has expired.
Joule force to use this app
Lost 2 prime steaks and a bone in pork chop as the unit just stopped cooking with no input from me. Lock screen notice still said it was at temp asking if I wanted to start the timer. Never had this issue with the joule app.
