Accurate and Easy

Wow!! Very happy with this product. I researched a few different brands with no satisfaction. This one was recommended by a friend. I brought it home from Costco and tried it out in my smoker immediately. Works great! No annoying wires. Good battery life. Nifty case. Great app!

Unfortunate Let down

While these probes seemed like a great idea my set never works. I haven’t made it through one full cook without it going to “probe disconnected” doesn’t matter if I’m in the smoker, grill or oven neither probe ever stays connected through the full cook. Back to my Thermoworks probes

Feedback

This is an amazing product. The only problem that I have is, is that whenever you get done completing a cooking or if you get some sort of notification you end up getting a whole bunch of notifications still left on your phone and will have the amount notifications left on the app icon. It doesn’t delete the notifications. It’s just a software defect I guess but other than that it’s amazing.

Finally, a Kitchen Gadget Even I Can Use

The Chef iQ thermometer is so easy to use that, honestly, a dummy could figure it out—and I say that as someone who has definitely made some questionable decisions in the kitchen. I absolutely love the recipe ideas. They’re thoughtful, creative, and, most importantly, actually make you want to cook. The recipes have encouraged me to branch out and try things I normally wouldn’t, including some top-end steak cuts that I probably would have been too nervous to mess up. But the real MVP moment came at Thanksgiving. We somehow thought we had an extra hour (or more) to cook the turkey. Big surprise… the turkey was always a little dry. Chef iQ completely changed that. Having the thermometer tell me exactly where the meat is and when it’s ready took the guesswork out of cooking—and may have legitimately saved Thanksgiving. It’s easy to use, the recipes are mouth-watering, and it gives you the confidence to try new things without worrying that you’re going to ruin an expensive piece of meat. Highly recommend. Even if you’re a dummy in the kitchen.

Battery life

The battery does not last long enough for extended cooking. I use for a prime rib and low battery warning came on after 1 hour. Today tried To cook a brisket and the probe only lasted a couple hours., and this was with two replacement probes sent by the manufacturer.

Use to work great

It is a great product. However something in the phone app continually crashes to the point it doesn’t even open now. I own several products and I love them. The app opens on my computers just not my phone. I don’t get it. Tried to unload it and reloading. No luck. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Great app with one big suggestion

Is a very good app and works very well with their hardware. One suggestion for the app, though, is it really needs a widget. Especially a lock screen widget. That would make it so much easier to keep track of probe temperature, etc.

App not intuitive at all

I have been trying for over a half hour to figure out how to get to manual cooking mode. I searched on Google. I asked ChatGPT and none of the instructions I have been provided have worked. Very accurate temps

I’ve tried a lot of wireless brands and this one is extremely accurate on temp readings. I’m glad we got 3 of them and honestly we probably could use another 3. I like the fact that you can set temperatures and alerts three different probes. Each one individual individually operates on its own. Downside is Tin foil interferes with the Bluetooth and wireless signals so keep that in mind when wrapping your shoulders or briskets.

CHEF IQ (2 probes)

I’ve had the thermometer for several months now. It has been used 1/2 dozen times. I’m getting use to its operation but I do have some issues with instructions and using both probes when I’m BBQ’ing. The probes will read different temps as much as 20 degrees difference while on the same BBQ. Maybe I just require more use of the item.

Very temperamental

I have had the CHEF iQ for a little over a year. The charging function is horrible. It seems like I can rarely get the unit and the three probes charged properly. In fact probe number one when it is fully charged only lasts about five minutes while cooking. I don’t use that one anymore. I am down to probe two and three and now when I charge the unit, the chime goes off incessantly. I would not recommend this product.

Loss of probe signal

So I follow your recipe step by step. It tells me to wrap my cook in foil, so I do that and then lose signal from both my probes. Thankfully I had some butchers paper to use instead to finish the cook, both probes started communicating again. The next day on warming this cook up again, I had a foil tray covered with foil and again - loss of signal. Moral of the story, don’t cover the probe(s) with foil, they won’t work like that.

Grilling ESSENTIAL for perfection!

I’ve been grilling for almost 70 years (now 80) and I thought I had everything under control until I started to use Chef IQ. I just finished grilling two whole tenderloins R-MR and these probes and app are amazing. I’ve used them a lot before but don’t usually make such large meals. To say “perfection” would be a gross understatement. I used two probes because front and rear positions vary on the grill and BOTH came out perfectly. ANYONE who wants predictable and EASY results absolutely needs ChefIQ. I’ve tried otters but this is far superior! Bon appetite!
