Great smoker
I would recommend upgrading your smoker to a pit boss I had a competitor but hands-down this is the best smoker I’ve ever used, including some very high-end ones
Glitchy connection and losing cook analytics graph
This app appears to have some bugs. It is not retaining the cooking analytics. Everytime the graph is closed it deletes history
Can’t change email or password
The app works pretty great as far as grill functioning. However, I’m unable to change my email nor password for my account. There appears to be a way to do each, but the app seems to block me from making these changes. There is no online form for customer support, just a phone number. And there’s no way to leave a voicemail.

Good but some features not working
Intermittent prompt for end of grilling. Analytics (Graph)is blank.
Doesn’t work well
The app is fine for controlling your grill or seeing point in time information, but the “analytics” section doesn’t seem to work unless you keep the app foregrounded and don’t let your screen lock. If you do, all the data is lost. Kinda worthless in that regard.
Will not run in background
When screen is locked I constantly have to re open app. I have to have the phone is unlocked to keep it running.

Brand new grill. Cannot use it for the whole reason I bought it which is the WiFi connectivity. App WILL NOT allow me to scroll down and find my home network. That screen is perpetually stuck. My grill is saved with a password but what’s the use if I can’t complete the setup steps. I very disappointed and extremely upset. I’ll never recommend this to anyone. Update 9/6/26 Still no connectivity. Doesn’t maintain temperature, even after meticulous cleaning as Pitboss tells us to do. Grates, temperature probe. All clean. The problem is that the broiler plate directs heat toward the temperature probe and there is no way to fix this unless I had some welding skills and corrected the arc in the plate that moves heat towards the probe. This whole experience ruined my Labor Day Weekend. I’d had more temp control with my traditional wood smoker, and wished I’d used that. Traeger, here I come. Will disassemble and trash this thing.
Bluetooth
Downloaded 4 times, can’t get past step 2 as it won’t download, frustrating big time
Still not good.
After numerous revisions it just keeps getting worse. It will NOT keep track of the smoker temp (the “analytics” if you don’t have the app open constantly. Smoking all day? Or even for a couple hours? Every time you go back to the app it acts like you just opened it and there’s no history. The smoker is great. The app is a tragedy. PLEASE hire an app developer who knows what they’re doing. Maybe even test this stuff before releasing it.

Every time I try to use this app it sets the grill temp to 180° and then won’t let me reset the temp unless I go to the grills dial.

PID mismatch and crashes alot
Temperature settings do not match 10 degree increments on my app and defaults to the older 25/50 degree increments. App itself crashes alot and have to restart.
PItboss App- works when it needs to
This app is ok. It will do the basic function which is show you recipes and set temps on your smoker. I like graphs to see my results and the Pitboss app doesn’t seem to retain graphs very well. It would just “crash out” without actually crashing and have to reconnect all over again. There’s no option for 230 and 240. It just gives me 225 and 250. This kind sucks because I need to adjust temp accordingly because the top rack runs 25-30 degrees cooler but I can’t adjust it from my phone. Need to adjust at the pitboss grill. Wish there was a way to update firmware on the pitboss grill too. I had a Masterbuilt and their app was solid.
My Cook
This about my third cook on this smoker. Perfect amount of smoke for flavor. I like it better than any smoker I’ve had.
Doesn’t work
Trying to connect to my smoker and when I get to the screen to select my WiFi, the app doesn’t allow me to scroll so can select any WiFi, therefore no Bluetooth, no WiFi connection, I’ve deleted the app and re installed 3 times but to no avail
New PB KC
My pit boss KC combo showed up as I unpacked it there is a fair amount of damage on the unit from factory dents rub marks and the wire heat guard was broken and bent. The grill greats for the propane side are flaking out of the box. All in all the unit looks solid fired up great and easy to use.
Good until the update
This app was good, until it’s most recent update where it will not allow me to log in. To put salt in the wound after trying to log in it will show me the temp and target temp of my grill while keeping me locked out of actually controlling anything.

The more that I my Pit Boss pellet smoker the more I am amazed at all the things that I can do with it. Like the Showtime roaster, “You can set it forget it!”

Can’t use
I just got my grill a couple days ago as a gift and I can’t even open the bloody app, I download it and go to open it and it just loads forever and says there’s a server error and crashes
Feedback
Really like the app but there are some major flaws, the most frustrating of these is having to wait for the app to reconnect to the grill each time the app goes into the background on iPhone. There must be a better way where the grill could be connected to the web service - permanently when running. Then the app just makes a very quick connection to that. Having to wait 10 seconds each time the app closes or goes into the backround is real bad. Feel free to reach out to me for more feedback.

Smokin in the Rain
We just purchased our Pit Boss smoker / gas grill combo. We are wanting to smoke a brisket for Father’s Day, but of course the weather is not cooperating. Because the OAT temperature is only 11 degrees C, I wanted to make sure the grill could get to temperature and hold it. It took a while but once it got to the selected temperature of 250 degrees F, it held the heat perfectly. Brisket for Father’s Day.

Bien mais il faut sortir l’appli en langue française pour l’exploiter à 100% …
Mériterait d’être développée en français pour une utilisation optimale.
Le potentiel de l’application mériterait à être développer. Surtout sur l’utilisation et mode d’emploi des BBQ qui manquent. Ce serait très utile pour permettre aux utilisateurs d’améliorer leur pratique de leur pit boss.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Buy something else. Spend $1000s on their grill to be met with the absolute worst app. Company is nothing but a money grab and zero support. Constant connection issues. Horrible interface. Look elsewhere.

Works great doesn’t give me issues. Only thing it’s missing is a widget for the Home Screen of my iPhone so I can check temps easier.
So much potential
Could be better, generally does what it is supposed to until you try and use it in the shop. Going to the UK shop renders the app useless, freezes with the now all too often seen flames 🔥 of doom. Once this is fixed, then all will be good. Connection via Bluetooth is generally good with good range to keep an eye on the cook from the sofa but messages can be sporadic.

Latest update no longer allows for control of the smoker and I can’t even login to the website with my account. Showing themselves as a subpar brand.

It’s nice to be able to check on your smoke from away from smoker. Temp probe is very accurate. Very pleased with the Pit Boss brand

This app used to be awesome, now it crashes every time you run it in the background. Have to be super close to reconnect to it every time as well. Went from awesome to completely useless

Quand on cherche à s’étendre à l’étranger ce que vous faites en vendant vos produits en France alors il est souhaitable que l’application soit disponible en français. Je n’ai pas souvenir que tous les américains parlent français et bien en France c’est la même chose avec l’américain.
