I normally don’t write reviews but this app is magical!! It’s a must have if you own a Traeger.

Wish we could turn on the grill from my phone to have dinner ready sooner and not wait for the half hour warm up.
Improve the alarm
Great app and smoker except the fact that the thermometer alarm is not an alarm as much as it is a simple notification. An alarm sounds until it is addressed (shut off etc) and is far more useful than a notification that pops up and is easily missed. The result of missing the notification that your meat has reached the desired temp can have dire results. Simple. Please improve. Thanks

Not Very Good
The performance is highly disappointing; the machine consistently struggles to maintain its set temperature. Lately, it will heat up correctly but then randomly lose temperature until I am forced to shut it down and restart it. Because I am now outside the warranty period, this experience is incredibly frustrating, and I will never purchase from or recommend this brand again.
Good, could be great
We recently purchased a woodridge elite pro. It’s great. There are no issues with connectivity, despite living in rural area. Easy to navigate. Two improvements: 1. Make a widget so you can show the timer and status of the grill and what not in the lock screen 2. Be able to purchase specific accessories for the grill you have registered.
App has degraded
Many buttons on timer do not appear at all.
Lost the grill
When the app works….. it is great. I would have to say it only works about 30% of the time. Too often it can’t find the grill, it doesn’t recognize the wifi password, or the entire app needs an update. It is very frustrating to have to spend time trying to get it to work, only to have to wait for a new update.

Very helpful with temperature control and knowing my pellet levels. It’s like my own assistant personal chef lol.
The Traeger App Has Issues
The app loses data when you move to the screen with the temperature and probe temperature. The info is non existent on that screen.
I like it
Good app and great control over the smoker. WiFi enabled and can be used anywhere. No issues with connection or control. Recipes are good and the app is intuitive. Would be nice if it would show as a live event on my iphone instead of having to unlock the phone open the app every time I wanted to check on it. Maybe add in an estimated cook time? It’s a slick feature a competitor uses.
Apple Watch App funktioniert nicht
Die iPhone App an sich ist sicher 3-4 Sterne wert. Allerdings funktioniert die Watch App leider jeweils nur ein einziges Mal. Dann muss man Sie deinstallieren und erneut installieren, damit sie wieder funktioniert. Offensichtlich ist bei Traeger niemand bereit sich des schon mehrere Jahre vorhandenen Problems anzunehmen. Dann die Watch App lieber gar nicht erst anbieten. Kann den Qualitätsansprüchen von Traeger nicht genügen.
Works ok needs improvement
I love the fact that you can control the cook for the most part through the app. But never ever try to take it to 400+ they state that you don’t get flare up ups but that’s a bold overstatement. No matter how well you clean out the smoker I’ve had flare ups and I mean big ones. At a lower temperature it works great but do not crank up the heat no matter water they say.

Won’t pair with my grill
I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to get the app to re-add my grill. I had to add it again because today when I opened up the app, even though the grill said it was online, the app said it was offline. Now twice in a row I’ve went through the connection process. It said it was connected. Gave me the green check and yet after the green check disappeared it was on the page saying add a grill still. Did that twice in a row got an error on the page where I needed to enter a name for it despite me picking from their suggested names.

Won’t connect
Did ever trick in the book trying to connect the smoker to my phone, no luck. The update didn’t fix the bugs it made it worse!
Epic but missing 5Ghz
The app is super easy to use and has lots of functions that help make smoking easier. I wish it had 5Ghz WiFi so I didn’t need a full reconfigure to get it going on 2.4 GHz but it was well worth it!
Gute Idee, Aaaaber
Der Smoker ist Klasse. Aber die App empfinde ich als sehr mühsam. Meldet beim vorheizen erreichte Temperatur obwohl noch nicht erreicht. Rezepte muss man in Gramm und Milliliter umrechnen. Suchfunktion funktioniert nur eingeschränkt. Noch viel Potential nach oben.

Good, but could be a lot better…
Good app as it is, but would be really good if it could provide cook information. A bit like the Meater app: graphs are really useful for seeing how the cook develops, and the estimated time remaining would be useful too. You could then save your cooks for personal gratification (or bragging to mates) and make notes on them.
Not worth the money
I have had my Ironwood 850 for just over 7 months. It has had a temp probe change once and it took over 8 weeks to get the probe. I eventually had to change this myself as I got fed up with the poor service from the Traeger agent in Australia. The super smoke function does not work and as expected no support. Once the app picks up an error code you have to delete the app and reinstall to recognise there is no error code. The cost of the pellets is ridiculous with the average BBQ costing approximately $8 -$10 in pellet fuel. Naturally you have to buy Traeger pellets, and frankly it is not worth the money. I won’t recommend the purchase.
App is fine but recipes??
Recipes are a bit all over the place. Almost all underestimate the cooking time and some quite significantly. You guys are aware that pork is not poultry right?? Because there are lots of recipes in that section. Once more for those at the back ‘a pig is not a bird’.
Love my Traeger
I love this trigger. I can operate it from my phone and the recipes are great. I highly recommend a Traeger grill.
Brutally inaccurate
Barely able to connect to unit, only able to control my Traeger 40-50% of the time from the app. Basically a mobile cookbook…
App needs to be improved 10% to be perfect
The app background refresh doesn't seem to be accurate. When I open the app to monitor the cooking temp it doesn't change. To find the current temperature, the app has to fully shut down and be reopened to allow it to reload.
Not Great
Ok so the problem I’m having with the app is that when you down load a recipe to the grill the settings are completely different to what it said when you read what todo. For example I’m was doing bbq beef short ribs. Now the read along said to put the grill to 225f / 107c and cook until internal temperature gets to 160f / 73c. The problem is that it set the grill to 75c and puts the internal probe to 95c. Now the 95c shouldn’t be until the 2nd step but the app only shows step 1 of 1. So all the temps are wrong and if I change the internal temperature to 75c it will jump back to 95c This isn’t the 1st cook the app has done this but with the last time I hadn’t noticed and things got ruined. I like the feature but don’t have it on the app if it doesn’t work. I have no problem setting it all myself don’t get me wrong but don’t have it if it doesn’t work. Not sure if it because I have my settings set to Celsius instead of Fahrenheit but that shouldn’t make any difference because the recipe has both temps.
Great app.. but
Great app. Love the control and visibility I have over the grill while cooking. Also love the recipes available. But seriously when ever a new update comes out I get force signed out and can’t sign back in. Whoever is doing the app testing (if it’s even happening at all) needs a career change

Easy to use with reliable temps
Timberline 850
Got a new timberline 850 3 years ago, never worked properly since I got it. I left it under its cover for a year, hoping it would magically work after I pulled it out and plugged her in. POS let me down again. I figured maybe the hot rod so I ordered one and changed it out. We changed the whole electronic controller out previously. Updated the software, new pellets checked everything out. Couldn’t even get the temp. To 250 degrees after 1.5 hours, then it flamed out. Worst POS I’ve ever had, warning do not buy one,nothing but trouble. I would definitely get a pit boss next time, this POS wouldn’t even make a good anchor on my boat. Dion DeCorby Binscarth mb. Lost the ability to set Temp
Needs a hot fix here…for example, a recipe may say cook to 72C….however you only have the ability to choose 70C or 75C as it’s only offering 5C increments. Please fix this!
Favourites and WiFi
What is the point of saving favourite recipies ????? Can’t find anyway if retrieving them. WiFi is awful. Grill says connected but app say not. Fed up trying to reset and get it working.
Good but where is custom cooks
App is generally good but missing the ability to setup custom cooks and steps. Stuck to doing it manually or just following one of the Traeger recipes.

Can’t connect new grill
The app will not let me connect my 780 pro. I can get through the scan qrcode step just fine. But then the part where I put my serial number in it just stays on that screen. No matter how many times I click enter it just stays on that screen. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling several times but nothing works. Absolute garbage app when part of the reason I bought this smoker was to have the wifire
Good app but a graph would make it better
The app is great especially now it has Apple Watch functionality. However it would be even better if it had a temperature cooking graph so you can keep an eye on stalls etc in the protein being cooked.
Wet disappointing
This app desperately needs an update! Most of the videos and guides use old grills then aren’t available now. None of them seem to contain Timberlines or newer grills which is really frustrating. A lot of the recipes refer to older grills as well, talking about turning dials! Traeger charge top dollar for their grills, and many people buy them because of the smart connectivity, but they really need to up their game with this aspect of their business.
