Really works!
First trip overseas, I lost two days of my precious vacation to jet lag. Then I discovered Timeshifter. Simple, effective, and kept my husband from being a grouch!
Only suitable if you can sleep during flights
Great premise, but fails to ask you the most important question, and then bases its entire plan on an assumed answer of yes: Can you sleep during flights? If you don’t already reliably sleep through flights, don’t bother with this app. Its plan for you would be worse than just sleeping/eating earlier/later before your flight, like people have been doing informally since forever. Oh, look what we have here, a marketing reply to my review. Sorry, but the fact remains: If you are changing time zones enough to want an app to help, then the app can’t ignore that fact that it is your sleep schedule that needs to adjust, and to adjust that it needs to explicitly account for whether or not you can sleep on aircraft.
Simple, easy and effective
I was skeptical this would work given how simple the app looked and simple the instructions were. I wasn’t able to adhere to the plan 100% but still didn’t experience any noticeable jet lag. I greatly appreciate how the first trip is free and highly recommend this app to those traveling abroad. The only thing I would improve is showing the time at both locations on the timeline. Maybe one side as the current time and the other side with the future time zone.
Bait and switch with a false bug
Your first time use is a free trial. The instant flight times change and you attempt to change the schedule it will bug out with “these times overlap” and it won’t delete the original schedule so you remove the whole flight and it goes straight to “Pay for a subscription”
Push notifications didn't work
I really enjoy this app and have used it for 3 international trips. However I purchased the one time use version for my trip last month, and for some reason it didn't send me any notifications for my trip home! I was so busy I didn't notice until I was on my long haul flight home. I opened the app and it had a schedule for me, but I was never notified! I double checked that I have push notifications turned on still, as I got them before my trip departed. Really felt like a waste of money because I did suffer from jet lag quite a bit when I got home. Thankfully it was only a 5 hour time difference so I recovered after a few days. How can I make sure this doesn't happen on my next trip??
I rely on it for my travels!
I started using Timeshifter with an international trip two years ago and I have come to rely on its advice ever since. I’m not always able to follow every step exactly but I do my best to get as close as I can to the recommendations and it really makes a difference! It’s an amazing thing to travel internationally and have very little if any jet lag! And I love that I can edit whether or not I’m using melatonin and caffeine. For this most recent trip I’m not drinking caffeine and it still was super helpful!
Poor customer support
It seems the only way to get any support is a chat box but I have been trying to get an answer from their customer support for over a week now and all I get is the AI response that “the team will get back to” me and their “usual response time is a day” which seems wildly inefficient. I got an answer to one question from a human being, but they did not answer my main question and because this is a chat on their website, I did not get any notification they had responded and by the time I realized it had been several hours and they never responded again after I followed up. So I tried starting a new chat and it’s been two full days with no response. I guess if everything works perfectly from the beginning you will have a good experience with the app, but don’t expect any support if you need help.

Vergt enige zelfdiscipline maar als je het volgt dan heeft het echt effect, geen enkele last van een jetlag van Nederland naar Japan, top!
Can you sleep to order?
I dutifully set an alarm for 04:30 in accordance with the plan. On the way to the airport I realised I’ve slept only sporadically and never clocked beyond 90 minutes on a 13 hour flight. Very few can sleep to order and I viewed the plan’s ‘now sleep for 8 hours’ with horror and contempt. My advice, never forgo sleep to comply with Timeshifter. Unless you can sleep on demand your intricate theoretical plan will fail.
A truly great App to assist travelling
I do quite a few long haul trips each year & swear by this App. It’s my new travel buddy.
Works very well
As someone who works in psychiatry and addresses sleep issues all the time, I was surprised how well this app worked. I guess sleep science is sound (pun intended). It made the transition to Iceland from Chicago much better than expected despite an uncomfortable flight from a sleep standpoint. Thank you Timeshifter. I am curious how returning home will be.
Single trip not robust
Beware the single trip option is not robust. If you delete ur trip for whatever reason you have to pay again.
It works, even with personal adjustments
The schedule that the app provides is great (in theory), but not necessarily achievable. It doesn’t leave time for travelling to the airport for instance, and its light exposure recommendations don’t line up with the light/dark hours inside a commercial airplane. Yet the app gave me a great understanding of the idea behind time shifting, and I was able to adjust accordingly. I had no significant jet lag on my journey to New Zealand, which was excellent. I will continue to use these principles on future travels.
Unrealistic
If I could stay awake for 20 hours straight then I probably wouldn’t need to download a jet lag app

Very Helpful App to Reduce Jet Lag!
I’ve used Timeshifter on several international trips and noticed significantly less jet lag after following its recommendations. It’s made a real difference—highly recommend!
Terrible customer service.
The app was helpful during a recent trip with a significant time difference for my husband and me, but it is impossible to obtain any customer service. The matter I’m having requires chatting with a person (according to their chat bot) and 4 days later, and messaging daily within the app, I still have not heard back from anyone, never mind had the issue resolved.

Ich finde es gut, eine Art Stundenplan zur Jetlag Bekämpfung zu haben. Wenn man sich 1:1 daran hält, funktioniert es auch. Die App könnte allerdings moderner und interaktiver gestaltet sein.
Schlechte Erfahrung
Da meine Familie in Zentralamerika lebt, reise ich seit 30 Jahren einmal im Jahr dorthin und habe daher einiges an Erfahrung mit 7 Stunden Jetlag und diverse Methoden probiert. Zunächst: Die App hält, was sie verspricht. Wenn man sich an alle Vorgaben hält, ist der Jetlag schneller besiegt als mit allen anderen Methoden. Logisch: sie basiert auf wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen. Allerdings erkauft man sich die kürzere Umstellungszeit mit 2 wirklich brutalen Tagen durch die man sich durchquälen muss. Ich habe bei mir eingestellt: 23:00-07:00 Schlafzeit, Nachteule, ohne Melatonin. Am Abend vor der Reise soll ich 20:00-03:00 schlafen. Im Prinzip richtig was den Hell/Dunkel Rhythmus angeht. Nur liegt man halt 2 Stunden wach, steht vollkommen müde auf und ist den ganzen Reisetag schon mal gerädert. An Bord (Nachtflug) kann man dem geforderten Hell/Dunkel Rhythmus folgen, aber natürlich nicht gut schlafen. Ich bin am nächsten Tag um 11:00 zu Hause und muss nun den ganzen Tag bis 22:00 wach bleiben und Licht tanken. Nach 2 Nächten Schlafmangel ist das ultra-brutal. Der Tag ist eine einzige Qual. Ab dem dritten Tag ist es dann erträglich. Für mich funktioniert es viel besser wenn ich: a) zwei Tage und ein Tag vor Abflug jeweils 1 Stunde früher schlafen gehe und aufstehe. Damit habe ich schon mal 2 Stunden geschafft ohne am Reisetag todmüde zu sein. b) nach der Ankunft sofort 2 Stunden zu schlafen (Wecker stellen) damit ich gut durch den Tag komme und c) die erste Nacht viel später ins Bett zu gehen, also erst um 1:00 oder 2:00 morgens und länger zu schlafen. Mag sein dass ich 1 Tag länger brauche, aber ich muss trotzdem weniger leiden.
Worked for me!
I used Timeshifter to manage jet lag on my recent trip to Thailand from the U.S. I followed the schedule as closely as I could, didn’t use melatonin, and had zero jet lag arriving in Thailand and minimal jet lag upon return. It was easy to follow; I just waited to be notified what to do and when. No need to figure it out myself! I’ve got another international trip planned and will definitely use Timeshifter.
Doesn’t work
Added my flights multiple times and keeps going back to main page without flights. An hour wasted.
I tested it..
Following the instructions from this application (even not fully as I did), I didn’t feel the inconvenience of jet lack (-6h). Perfect application for frequent travelers.
Leider Wirkungslos
Die App ist schick, lässt sich gut bedienen. Die Tipps sind leider manchmal etwas irreführend, man muss sich schon immer sehr genau durchlesen, was welches Symbol genau aussagt. Der Grund für 2 Sterne: Die App bringt nichts. Der Jetlag ist wie immer. Dafür dann 10€ pro Flugreise bzw. 30€ pro Jahr bezahlen zu sollen ist schon ein sehr schlechter Witz und grenzt an Abzocke.
Helpful Fighting Jet Lag
Great app which preps your body & sleeping rhythm to adjust to new time zone. Great experience For me w/ a 6 hour adjustment!
More Like Jet Lag Extender
Don’t do it. Trust your instinct instead. Bright lights before bedtime just creates unnecessary insomnia. I followed this app strictly for my 12 hour time difference trip and it seemed like a great idea even though my gut told me it was actually causing more harm than good. For my return to home, I should’ve trusted my instincts to just go to sleep at 9pm when I could barely stay awake but the app told me to stare at a bright light until 11am then go to sleep but that’s not how the body works. Bright lights before before bed means no sleep, even with melatonin, is going to happen. This app just added at least a full day of jet lag for me. Do the research on bright lights before bed. This app ignores science and your own instincts for what’s right for your body.

Au top pour la gestion des jetlags. Meilleure optimisation, mais difficile à suivre si on ne maîtrise pas suffisamment son environnement. Suggestions : pouvoir modifier en temps réel le temps de sommeil effectué ex-post, le temps exposé au soleil ex-post, etc., pour ré-adapter les futurs événements à ce qui a été fait.
Love this app
We travel back to Europe every year, and every year I would be struck with a horrible jet lag that lasted for days. So when another traveler friend suggested this app I gave it ago. THIS APP IS AMAZING! It has forever changed how I will travel and my own personal enjoyment of the trip. It is so easy to follow the cues and time shift using this app.
Didn’t work
I put my flight details in from London to Australia & it told me to sleep while I’m on my 2 hour layover? Didn’t work for me and deleted after this trip.

Worked great- minimal jet lag
Excellent & easy to use app. I was so happy with my time zone adjustments & saved days of being tired & confused while on vacation.
Terrible Functionality
Downloaded and deleted straight away. It asked me to add all my flights by searching the flight number - super simple and easy! But then in the next step it told me all the time zones didn’t match up and I would need to edit the flight times… surely if the app is based around time zones it would be able to automatically shift the flight times to be in a consistent format? I also downloaded the app after my initial flight overseas and there was no way to go and add the flight in retrospect.
Geen jetlag door deze app! Geweldig
Ik heb deze app voor het eerst gebruikt voor de reis naar Bali. Ik heb het plan grotendeels gevolgd en had op de heen en-terug reis geen jetlag. Echt geweldig! Wel zou ik het fijner vinden mocht het mogelijk zijn om per vakantie een bepaald bedrag te betalen in de app i.p.v. 24 euro per jaar.
Actually worked
I got several recommendations to use this app from some friends that are doctors. It felt silly doing the sunglasses /sun exposure but i experienced ZERO jet lag during my trip from florida to japan! Definitely recommend!!
Paid but subscription did not work! Horrible customer service.
I’ve used the app for more than a year and found it moderately helpful for intercontinental travels. I renewed (and paid for) my subscription in February 2025 but the app did not register the renewal and asked for payment again and again. I reached out to the in app customer service multiple times over the last two months only to be met with radio silence!
First experience using Timeshifter
Very cool UX!! App looks great and user interaction is fantastic! Got a try-out coupon at Websummit 2018. Regarding taking sleep during a flight I think it is impossible to sleep in the first and last hour, so suggest to modify the algoritm for this. Also I expected to have some food advice, in my experience it enhanced my adoption to the new timezone when I modify the times and amounts of food I take. The payment schedule looks expensive to me. I would be willing to pay EUR 5 for a next (single time) use. All the best with your further developments!
Fantastic App!
Very easy to follow. I totally recommend it. I flew from Atlanta to Italy, fresh and ready to start my adventure, when I landed at 10:00 am. No jet lag at all!
Breaks down all the time
Great from content Point of view. However App breaks down all the time on my iPhone 16 and looses all data. Thus unfortunately useless.
