Keep boarding pass longer
Boarding pass disappears from the app as soon as boarding starts, so it’s quite difficult to find unless you’ve added to your digital wallet.

No place to sit
Our flight does not board for over 3 hours, there is no place to sit, and my 70-year-old self has to sit on the floor.
Lacks the most important information when you need it
My boarding passes for my flight disappeared from the app just before boarding. Thankfully I had printed and screenshotted them ahead of time. In addition it does not show gate or even terminal information for all flights, only some. I had to rely on Google and airport information boards to get this information. These are probably the most crucial information one could have. Major fail.
Why only credit cards?
Please offer PayPal and Apple Pay as payment methods for paying in the app. Having to enter all your CC details is so last century!

Unable to create account
The app keeps giving errors and I’m unable to create an account and therefore can’t access my flight details. Kinda defeats the purpose of the app.
Beware of checking open seats
When I booked my flight from Portland to Paris (through Reykjavik), I didn’t reserve a seat. 24 hours before the flight when I checked in, I used the app to see what seats were available. The only way to see how much a seat costs is to click on it. But that automatically reserves it at the same time. You can click on other seats but you can not ever undo and go back to the previous menu without reserving some kind of extra cost paid seat. The app won’t let you finish check-in without paying for the seat. That is bonkers. We should be able to check which seats are available and at what cost without having to commit to buying them. Terrible UI and enough (combined with the horrible sardine can crowds and punishing gate agents at Reykjavik airport) to make me choose another carrier.
needs speed!
Sitting at CPH 40 min after connecting flight from HAM and app still won’t update screen to new current upcoming flight to KEF. CPH - KEF gate updated 20 minutes ago, but it’s still blank in the app. Do I get a meal in saga premium? I don’t know…it’s offering me economy options. Just fix the basic stuff please!

One reason for checking in in line is to save time at the airport. App did not give boarding pass so need to do this at the airport. What is the point of the app?
Crowded and slow
The app has most functionality you would want but is unfortunately slow and the UI is very crowded. The Check-in process was not very smooth and I got error messages saying I’m not allowed to go back even though I never attempted to. Ended up checking in on my computer instead.

App is terrible, Iceland air itself is the worst customer service I’ve ever received. Absolute scammers, will nickel and dime and take everything they possibly can. I lost my brother and had to rebook my tickets so I could go back home. It took weeks to get a funeral date so I had to rebook again and spent hundreds of dollars altogether rebooking. The second time I had to spend hours on the phone I wasn’t even able to do it myself. AWFUL, will avoid at all costs in the future and no desire to visit Iceland either but unfortunately forced to spend a night there during my layover, have to gather my bags and then pay another bag fee. Hope Iceland air goes out of business one day as they keep treating people. Shame on you.
Seat selection works sporadically
Rarely saves your seat selection for a flight. You need to try multiple times. Poor ui feedback when seat selection fails, it doesn’t show that seats couldn’t be confirmed. You need to persist until it succeeds.

I don’t see any way to make the screen bigger so I can see all the information when using the app

Useless app
Tried it to obtain boarding pass. Simply didn’t work had to sign in on the browser.mwadte of space.

App consistently drops information that has been added and saved such as seat selection, frequent flyer number and more and takes you to a webpage to do most things which is clunky. Needs work.

Adding a booking is easy, but it seems to just forget it and log you out in between uses, which is not useful.

With everything covid throwin at us an app to just check in is pretty smart.
Slow to load.Error messages when forms filled out correctly / unclear how to contact customer servic
App and webpage very very slow to load; some freezing. For upcoming flights, information was requested of all passengers. We filled in all places that applied to us, but then received 17 error messages saying that information needed corrections or that other information was needed after filling in passport information. One area we left blank said “only fill in if you have a visa from the USA”. As citizens of the country, we do not need visas. Nevertheless, after leaving the area blank, multiple error messages popped up about these being required fields. //additionally, one of us has a medical condition requiring bringing a small item aboard (usually standard but they wanted 48 hr notice). Unable to do anything with customer service through app/webpage despite trying for an hour. Wanted to like app as it has nice pages, but very frustrating.
Hire a better app developer
The app is so prone to issues it’s quite simply poor backend design. The new ‘trial’ to scan the qr code of vaccinations don’t work because whoever made the app didn’t actually add the permission. You can’t give the app permission to access the camera if it’s not requested and not even an option in the settings. This is basic level development. Sort it out
