Passport Card option not working for checkin.
App works great BUT - it lists passport and passport card as options for checking in. I always have my card with me, so it is great to be able to use the card details. However it gives an error message when the correct card details are inputted. Please correct the input field or alternatively, delete the option.
Another update failure
Can’t use this update. Will have to resort to paper. I still use iOS 15!
Free seat choice removed.
Free Choice Removed: You can no longer log in during digital check-in to handpick a specific standard seat for free. Nope, it’s now as per Ryanair with random seat allocation, so it’s one more thing to consider when deciding on aer Lingus.
Not usable unfortunately
You get email - check-in is open. You are eager to open app and click a few buttons but you are too naive. App logged you out, you are trying to log in, credentials don’t work. You are trying to recover password but emails are not going through… After 15 minutes of trying and swearing you just login to website with the same credentials which didn’t work for app and do check in. What’s the point in this app then? People are not using it daily like instagram, rather when they are stressed about traveling and such experience adds even more stress.
No Gate Info
The app provided no information on the boarding gate for my flight. I had to go the third-party app Flighty to find my gate…and the last minute gate change.

All working well once you’re connected to internet!
Test build released to the public?
I hope testing of your planes is better than testing do the app.

Forced updates for more advertising
Why is a bookings app 130+ MB with required updates every month? Nobody wants to see your sales and promotions when they're just trying to get their boarding card on hotel wifi. And why does the splash screen stay up for so long, too?
App is ok, slow on first open
The app seems to take ages when first opening it after a while of inactivity. Other airlines I’ve used their apps open pretty quickly in comparison. Certain actions redirect me to the website and then show me the exact same thing as what I’ve seen in the app, when trying to book a lounge pass.
So Easy!
In my opinion, Air Lingus App takes the stress out of travel. It’s my go to app when traveling. In short, it is like having my own PA.😃

Won’t let me log into my account. Refuses to let me type when moved to the sign in pop up
Needs major upgrade
App is so slow. Way too many clicks to get to boarding pass. Gate updates are not accurate in the app. Also doesn’t show terminal info. Had to google my flight to find out my gate changed before boarding. They don’t provide boarding time in the app. You also can’t track your bags. Can’t see in flight meal menu from the app so you have no idea what to prepare for. Overall just leagues behind other airlines with its app technology.

I think they just rolled out a dev version of their app which isn’t working at all. Not that the app is very good when it is working.

Please fix what matters
A new carousel is a nice-to-have - but how about fixing the “card type” field in your payment screen? There are no selectable options displayed, but since this is a required field, I can’t complete my purchase. iPhone 14 Pro iOS 18.6.2

Why is this app intermittently unreliable?
In my experience, I sucessfully used this app on my iphone for many trips without any issues at all, however I am taking a trip in 2 days and I can’t even login to the app or online. This is a REAL disappointment. Other users with same or similar issues on reddit and here, seems to be a reoccurring issue!? C’mon AerLingus, pay the software testers to test your app and don’t leave it to the users to test. Same goes for ‘Erin’ the whatsapp bot, which was no help.

Error message when clicking Manage my Booking after amending booking
Phoned AL to amend my booking, went through fine and got updated email confirmation with same booking reference. Now when I click on Manage My Booking in app, I get error message saying Oops something went wrong and wrong method used to view this page. Seems other users have had similar problems when amending bookings. AL response is to check in at desk - FFS!
Garbage
As someone who's been involved in making airline applications, I'm disgusted at the state of this app. Bugs include: the date picker preventing the user from setting the day until year and month are set, card forms resetting while the user is typing in details, payments for luggage on check in don't work, including Apple Pay, manual entry and revolut pay. Boarding passes can't be retrieved on the app via the booking if a user checks in on a computer, instead I have to manually look up my booking on the add boarding pass flow using pnr code and surname despite it already being connected to my account. You made a big mistake dropping the mtt contract way back in 2013.
Handles basics but needs to be updated to be functional
Handles basics ok (1 way or round trip flights), but if you have anything like a multi-city trip, the app becomes useless. You can no longer make changes or even check in using the app. Very frustrating.

Can’t updated to new app as my apple phone is iOS 15.8
Such a pity that new app require ios16 as my current apple phone is iOS 15.8 Why would aer Lingus do this ?? I always book flights on phone app and now I have lost that ! Aer Lingus trying to force me to upgrade my phone ?? I can use old app ! As it’s now not recognizing my account !!!

Shocking app
We boarded half an late and still didn’t give gate info over an hour on the runway and it still said on time not reliable one bit stick with the screens in the airport
Poor service
The app does not have the capabilities you would expect from other airlines. Bare minimum quality, no way to update allergens through the app (and no option to input allergens either on the site…). Should look into having a bit better user experience in the app, people would download more and get much more use out of it.
Apple Wallet Broken
App is ok but latest update seems to have broken adding boarding passes to the Apple wallet. Every time there is an error.

Only fly with Air Lingus. Air hostess are so helpful kind and professionals. You will feel confident in terms of air craft and its most experienced pilots. Painfully slow to open
Fairly limited in use, no option to spend Avios points for a start. Clumsy interface which makes it slow to navigate. But worse of all is the painful wait for it to load. A 2010 app lost in time
Limited Capabilities
The app does not allow many useful functions, such as converting Avios into AerClub points, contacting anyone who can help or requesting upgrades.
No Watch App, no Wallet connectivity
No sure how good the old App was, but releasing a "new" App without Watch support and the ability to put my boarding pass in Wallet seems like a big miss. Other than that the App is quite nice.
