Love this App!
This app has made renewing tags a breeze and much, much less stressful. I love the convenience and ease of using it rather than having to wait in a queue to get seen at a courthouse.

Quick; a few upgrades recommended
The process is quick. Took less than 10 minutes for two vehicles. A lot quicker than driving to the county seat! Couple suggestions: -People are over dealing with bots. The app can ask the same questions but just present it to the user in a different format (so it doesn’t appear to be a bot). -I registered two vehicles, but the app only shows that I have one vehicle under vehicle renewal activity. It shows the last of the vehicles renewed. The receipt and documents section shows I paid for both, but the Home Screen with the pop up does not. -provide option to make the receipt and the renewal show as PDFs so it’s easy to save to phone, forward to family, etc. - Provide additional payment options such as PayPal, etc. Third party payment sources provide a layer of protection.
Simply does not open
I am very supportive of the idea of iKan, and I love using on it on the computer. Unfortunately the app is required to request vital documents. On iOS 26.5 the app opens to “request could not be processed” error, and no other action is available.
does the job
it’s basically an interface that talks with a bot to walk you through whatever you’re doing (licenses/renewals/etc) there seems to be some sort of layout resizing bug that causes weird distances between things, and it doesn’t automatically scroll to where you’re typing in some fields nonetheless it does the job good job kansas! we have an app!

Worthless
Absolutely worthless app. Action item showing overdue plate registration despite having paid in 2025 on time due to issuance of newly redesigned Personalized plates. Then the even more worthless chatbot can’t locate my registration. No way to clear the “Action Item” that’s incorrect, can’t find info via plate, no way to look up vehicle by VIN. Completely. Worthless.
Good and Bad
The app is easy to navigate and is great for vehicle renewal but… Needed a marriage certificate and the bot tried to charge me whether it found the certificate or not. Why not have the bot look first and then if it finds it charge me? Not paying a robot $25 to do a file directory search.
Whose idea was chatbot payment?!?
Pro: app seems to work ok, Kansas finally getting a little bit of technology with their system. Con: who thought a chatbot was the best way to pay online?!? First page lists all the vehicles to renew. So I click it and then it immedietely forgets the vehicles and asks me to enter in a PIN or plate number. Then asks a bunch of different questions. Guess what, if you have another vehicle you have to do it all over again. So whoever chose this: have you ever paid a bill anywhere else like this? Water, insurnace, invoices? If everywhere else in society has already figured out an easy invoice system why buck the trend and make us go through a chatbot?
DL renewal
It’s so easy to use this app and not expensive as driving there and back. I’ve used this app for different info I’ve needed instead of trying to locate the info myself. You do need to be up to date with/vehicle reg, personal property, and a few other things but it is a legit app. Now I can say bye to the DMV.
App stinks
Cheapest option to order birth certificate. Unable to verify my entity through the app? I’ve answered all of the personal questions correctly. What a shame.
Crashing
Everytime I upload a document, either from camera or camera roll, the app crashes

Thanks to this app, paying my taxes is easier than ever. Anything that keeps me from going to the DMV gets 5 stars from me!
Worthless
You could not find a more useless app if you tried. You get the renewal application in the mail and it has all of your info on it, you plug it into the app to renew your plates and it can’t find your vehicle no matter what search criteria you plug into it, not with the pin that they send you, not with your license plate number, not your VIN. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE USING THE EXACT DATA THAT THEY HAVE ON FILE.
Never Works Correctly
I’ve tried to use it four years in a row to renew my tags… I get to put in all the info and then it just becomes a white screen… I go in and talk to people about it and they just tell me to use the icon app to fix the problem… That’s like losing your phone in trying to track it down using Find My and it tells you to please use your phone to find the device you are missing…
Registration Renewal.
Renewal took me 5 minutes and was a painless process, saving me a bunch of time and a trip to the Court House.
It’s all so tiresome
Does NOT allow grandchildren to request birth certificates for their grandparents. KS considers grandchildren to be immediate family. Why is this not included? Now I will have to order by mail or VitalChek. I need these records for citizenship. My grandma is going senile so she cannot find her birth certificate. Let alone manage requesting it herself. Likewise this app does not allow people to obtain pre 1940 birth certificates. Even though those dates are not impacted by Kansas’ draconian legislation. Useless.
Password difficulty
When you create an account on the website and then try to get the app there is a struggle to get the proper passwords to sync up. Is it under Secretary of State? I’d it under Kansas? There is no way I’m going to be able to manually enter the password that my password app generated: &8@5?fgl68^{€+fTE34

I was impressed by the ease of being able to renew online. I did the whole process on my iPhone for my two vehicles. Congratulations on a great process.

Built by amateur
The app is definitely built by amateurs. Very unprofessional. It’s got really bad UI. The pay button hides below the viewport so the only way to fix that is to orient the device in landscape and then bring it back to portrait. The entire page scrolls horizontally when there is no need for it. Spacing of items is terrible. My CC payment failed for no reason but my bank echeck payment went through. Terrible experience.
Fix visibility
When renewing motor vehicle registrations, the bot response for adding additional vehicles is mostly hidden off the right side of the screen. This makes it almost impossible to make the correct response to group all vehicles in a single transaction. Fix it!!!
Unreliable and incorrect
The app says I have 3 “action items”, which are three expired car registrations. App said they were not elligible to renew online, and referred me to the Johnson County Courthouse. I went to the courthouse and was told they don’t handle registrations. They sent me to the Dept of Motor Vehicles office, where I was told none of my registrations are expired. I wasted an entire afternoon on this. I’m furious.
