I have a Wishlist
The app is great, easy to use. I wish though that the route changed colour as you travel so you can see easily where you have been. I wish that if I’ve taken a wrong turn but managed to get back on track it would adapt instead of arguing with me to go back to where I veered off so that I follow it exactly. I wish I could find the function to turn off audio directions.
Can take forever to get GPS Location
It can take forever to load gps coordinates while Waze and Google Maps has no issues. Very frustrating when on the road and have to recreate your trip with another app. It also takes you onto gravel roads even though set to avoid. This is a huge issue in unfamiliar areas.

I have the basic app, disappointed at the lack of a better map for free.

A fairly steep learning curve but well worth it. Each time I think “I wish it did XXX” I find that it does, but you need to find it in the settings.

Just makes life harder
Too many glitches and difficulties for a paid app. Google maps with “avoid highways” is just as good and easier.
Not the app it used to be….
Now into the 2nd season of the app re-development and still many on the old functions still done work, speed camera’s, roadworks , plus issues with CarPlay.

Appli décevant
Au tout début cette appli fonctionnait bien mais avec le temps et les énièmes changements, cette appli est devenue buggée au boutte et ne suis plus tes trajets. Quand tu quittes ton trajets genre pour luncher, reprendre ton trajet est des plus compliqué et ce, quand il ne te fait pas reprendre ton trajet depuis le tout début. À ma dernière ride, l’appli m’a fait sortir deux fois en dehors dont entre autre un chemin de gravel. Fini pour moi Scenic. Je suis maintenant avec Rever et cette appli semble vraiment bien.

Lots of help from Guido when needed but the onboard help and tutorials are good. Plenty of settings to tune it for yourself. I find the Start a bit difficult for each ride but once moving it starts itself. I would prefer the speed display to be higher on the screen but can live with it where it is. The best route planner and guide that I have used. Keith Pheasant
Disappointing for such a popular app
It just doesn’t seem well designed. Eg I am mid ride and I can accidentally delete a stop with one tap. Whoops… my ride is now wrecked. No undo?!
Sadly.....
It auto renewed premium on my I phone 7. But, version 3.7 is no longer supported. Yes , it still works but I now need a IOS phone version 16.something if I want the new version. I thought - no problem I'll just use this old phone and app BUT, when I went to get the app on the desktop, it said I need at least OS 13.3 or better. I have 13.7.something, and it still didn't work. Why; because my computer is Intel based and not 'the other one'. I did email and the response and explanation of why it has changed was succinct. However... no refund offered despite it auto renewing the unsupported version. I've written off the 22£ but.. what a shame because I liked the app and felt loyal to it as it was my first phone nav app for the motorbike. I was just getting to grips and had a few good recorded rides. Fingers crossed I can get them to another app on this old but, perfectly working iPhone 7.

Can’t even load a GPX right
I was looking for an app to navigate me around a GPX route. The app offers two ways to import a GPX. Tried both. Neither followed the route. It cut out all the interesting parts of the route by moving it from green lanes to normal roads. Plus the price is ridiculous for an app I want to use one a month. Not the app for me
Scenic is a good app.
Its a fantastic app love that you can easily make your own ride and easy to follow and ride with. The only thing is a dirt bike and adventure rider sometimes the routes don’t always show up and you have these big round about ways on the map as it recons the dirt track doesn’t continue from one via point to another. If you could set up some sort of bridging system so that you could just say that the track continues to the next via point for sections of track that would be amazing and far less confusing when you ride.
Battery eater
I had such high hopes for this app especially this being the first app I’ve ever paid for. Issues, I’m in the UK and it was showing my route as if I was riding on the right side not the left, the refresh rate is so slow you miss your turn. If you don’t configure the settings correctly it won’t return you to your planned route or get voice commands. The most impactful issue is the battery drain. Background app refresh eats battery, my iPhone 15 is a month old, I went to bed with 52% battery and woke up to 12% and when I looked at battery utilisation Scenic was responsible for 60% of battery usage when not in use. Think hard before spending money.
Mostly Good
This app has generally worked well for me for planning motorcycle trips and using the turn by turn voice navigation. However, it randomly skips vias when I’m on track and following a route. This changes the roads that I have taken so long to plan. The only way I’ve been able to fix it of to set ‘manually skip vias’ in the recalculation settings. This is very annoying. Also, the speed limit does not display in the latest version even through it is set to ‘always’ in the settings.
Screen is too complicated
It’s a good navigation app BUT… The user interface has become complicated with too many layers and things to tap that have graphics that are difficult to understand. Settings are in multiple menus that make it difficult to find the setting you are looking for. It could do with a complete User Interface redesign to make it a pleasure to use, rather than a pain. Then it would be great.
Awful
Purchased for use in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria in June ‘25. Repeatedly froze, lost the route and refused to recalculate if a wrong turn taken or turn missed. 3 of us had the app and all had the same problems. Gave up and used Google. I’d like a refund please.
Great Motorbike Navigation App.
This is a really great motorbike navigation app. Great user interface, very intuitive, and much better & simpler to use than the previous Garmin satnavs I have used.
Won’t be renewing
Not happy with new version. Loved the satellite version, now it’s just a poor version of a gps.
A little frustrating
I like this app, plots routes well but on the circular mode, which is a great idea, it keeps putting in unnecessary little detours and u-turns where they do not add to the journey and make no sense. Maybe there is a setting in the app to prevent these, if so, it should be off by default.
More than bikes
Have been a full member from the beginning - excellent for route planning and as now with Car Play used in cars and especially Camper Vans where important to know your route over a generated route. My "go to"
Not free to use
Why do these developers waste everyone’s time saying in app purchases when they mean you need to buy it to use it other than a very brief trial. Just be honest and I would have bought it. Now deleted.
Really good for roads
I use Scenic to record rides when out discovering new routes on and off road with my green lane riding pals. When done I can edit the route and dump out the GPX file to share via WhatsApp. I can record rides against each of my bikes and study the various stats. Easy to use and really very good for road planning. Sadly, not so good for off-road green lane planning.
Was excellent but now really un-user friendly, sorry
When setting routes, there is just no menu to guide you. I am ‘running blind’ and eventually just scrap the route and give up.

Latest Map Upgrade is Great
At last, provides ability to increase font sizes on the maps with custom map feature. Also greatly improved and much more control over speed camera warnings per country. This App just gets better and better.
So you knew it was broken yet took the money anyway? Distinctly unimpressed!
Paid up to us an app for planning as it looked a little more friendly than the Garmin app - premium features need purchasing and the cost went up if you took a free trial - I took a punt and it was the wrong thing to do. Cannot recommend this app as it just dumped an afternoons planning. Then I discover there author knows it is broken. Feel somewhat robbed but the mugging didn’t result in spilled blood - that’s good I guess.
Great App for Motorcyclists
Really Like the App. Love the fact the iPad App is for the iPad. Important for Planning Routes. Would be 5 Stars except I keep having trouble if I deviate from my Planned Route, I want it to redirect me and show my how to get to where I planned. Having trouble with that
New update
The new update got rid of extra curvy, in the uk pretty much every road is ‘curvy’, and with the new update the curvy routes now just take you the normal route to your destination

Mapping not accurate
I used this app for the first time during a recent trip to the area just north of Madrid, Spain. I found that many place names were in Chinese, Japanese or Cyrillic. I was very disappointed, but on the plus side, I was able to cancel my subscription. It’s a shame I cannot post a screenshot as it would illustrate how bad the issue was.
Scenic usage
Had it for five years. User friendly app which has the facility to plan a route junction by junction (no limits I believe). Also to select curvy etc is good. I’ve used it in all parts of UK, NL, Belgium and Spain (Picos Europe) and it’s been brilliant there. Also the ability to see other people’s routes and use that data GPX to see roads that you may never find. Overall I find it essential and the ability to import Google maps and export GPX to fellow riders is great. 🏍️🏍️🏍️
New version does not work for me
I have been using Scenic for a couple of years and it worked great. Ever since they released version 4, it never records my rides correctly. This is unfortunate, it was a great app.
Review
Still learning the new update. Unable to find where to customise road colours on map as I did in previous version to identify dirt / unsealed roads. I.D. Of dirt roads is important to me. utilise this app for Motorcycle Adventure Riding on off road tracks (dirt roads). Thanks
Superb biker app
Don’t waste any more time looking for an app that links .gpx and turn-by-turn SatNav directions... you’ve found it right here. Linked with Best Biker Roads app, this provides you with a seamless way in which to make sure you get to enjoy the best routes in a particular area of the world you may find yourself in. Can’t fault this at all.. well chuffed.
Where has the unsaved section gone
Where has the unpaved section gone from route planning I am unable to plan any off road sections

Scenic is the most comprehensive & easiest to use bike routing apps that I’ve tried.
New layout
Been using scenic for quite a while and found very easy and usable. Sadly not so with the new update. Why can’t I now just put in a postcode and click on ride. And if I can and I’m missing something why take something that works very well and very simple and complicate it. Not a good step forward for me and possibly the trigger to now switch to other platforms.
Best motorcycle mapping app so far!!!
I have been trialling some of the most common motorcycle apps and although most have features that scenic does not, they fail at basic mapping. Riser, REVER and Detecht were amongst the biggest contenders however some of these display the map very poorly where there is large borders and it is difficult to see the screen or have glitches which make the extra features null and void as they can’t do basic navigation well. It would be good to see features from these apps added to scenic however such as location sharing via link for loved ones at home, pack ride where you can see your friends on the map, crash detection (that actually contacts emergency services and does not rely on friends and family), ability to mark hazards on the map like Waze, better display and controls of music playing from Spotify and a function that organises fuel stations on the route based on vehicle range with warnings of next fuel station distance. Just some ideas for improvements that would really make this app life changing on long rides. Keep up the great work.

I’ve been using it for about five years and it’s perfect for my needs.
A backward step
The new version of Scenic is a step backwards! Where is CarPlay? The maps were a pain to download (I am travelling around Africa when you decided to change maps and the internet isn’t great to download the new). Creating new routes automatically saves to favourite regardless of the folder you are in when you create the route
Plenty of map errors costing fuel, and kilometers and difficult to report them. Do better.
Sadly, scenic does not show the correct towns quite often. It literally can’t be trusted.
