I used restore! Best Customer Service!
I lost some of the charts but was contacted and given specific instructions to restore my app again. Best customer service EVER. 5 Big stars. A friend told me how to fix my app. I have been using it since 2015 and all of the weather info locked up. I went to the settings in the app and found Restore. Everything fabulous again. Love love love that I can see everything again!
Love paying for an app that doesn’t have support
This app is fantastic when it works!! Unfortunately when it doesn’t work, there is no support. You could spend hours going in circles in their website only to have no resolution. Very frustrating especially when you pay for a subscription!
One addition needed
This is my go to for RV navigation as it offers more filters than others like RVLife and is cheaper. However, I wish you could filter for grade and not just elevation. A couple of times recently it gave me routes with steep grades that my rig won’t handle. There was a better route, but I had to force it by adding way points to take that route. The routes it chose were also very curvy despite my filtering for least curvy. I recommend anyone using the app to double check the routes before taking them.
Best Route Planner But …
Best route planner hands down but the Car Play setup needs greater dlexibolity especially the ability to zoom in and out on the fly. Love the close-in landscape resolution in orientation mode.
This app keeps getting better and better.
I have used this app for years, before with my RV and now for all my trips that we take. I preplan our routes, sites to see, restaurants and points of interest allowing me to plan our trip from a global perspective. This allows me to relax when we’re actually on vacation knowing what we’ll be doing and how to accomplish our leisure goals. It is truly easy to use, you’ll enjoy it too.
Garbage
THERE HAS BEEN STREETS THAT EXIST FOR THREE YEARS AND THEY ARE NOT IN THE APP
InRoute needs some improvement !!
InRoute needs some improvement. There should be a way that you can just touch waypoint and change the color and have a pulldown list to mark waypoints as ‘contacted’ or ‘call back’ or ‘supporter’ or ‘not supporter’ for political campaign waypoints. There are many other improvements that can be made, but sadly, because you can never get a hold of the writer of this app and speak directly with them, there’s no way to actually help improve it.
Where’s the TRUCK ROUTES
I think this app would be a lot better if it was truck gps compatible when routing
A wing dinger of an application
Since I have been using the app I have never been lost always headed north, or south, or east, or even west. It does have some issues when used to take trips to Hawaii or Iceland, but it can be worked out.
The best app for any road trip!
We have been using this app for over 10 years now and we can say that we cannot travel without it! You can place 150 places of interest on a route, change the colour of each place (say, to note where you will be sleeping overnight), know the distance between stops, and so much more. Amazingly, it can also create for you the shortest travel route connecting 50 and 100 places and it also has a manual option. It also connects effortlessly with the navigation systems. The app is both beautiful and functional AND it has an amazing customer service with REAL PEOPLE addressing all of your questions/issues! 10 stars!!! 😄
Bugs
This app has a lot of issues and messes up religiously. If there’s any sort of traffic it will mess ur route up even when you turn on the ignore closed roads and traffic option in the advanced settings
1000 Miles and still learning
After a week of travel with InRoute I have a few observations. I love certain aspects especially the route planning and being able to find gas and rest stops when you will need them. Still trying to figure out a few things like setting way points. When I use a small town like Hill City, WY along the route to get off I70 it takes me to the post office in the center of town not the intersection. Anyway nice tour of these towns if I didn’t have a trailer following me. Overall better than any other app for planning, not quite as good as Google Maps for actual navigation. Blue route is had to see against gray roads, at least on CarPlay.Still learning.
Doesn’t provide traffic alerts.
It is nice for RV route planning but it offers no traffic planning. It kept me on a route where the road was closed and provided no indication of any traffic jams. Might try again if traffic is monitored.
Exit #
Needs exit #’s on the IPad.
Countryside PCS
This system is fairly simple and a must in our business.
Needs improvement
If there were an option to choose how the route is mapped, that would be a massive improvement. Currently, the app defaults to always go to interstate (maybe fastest) for the next pin. This causes unnecessary U-turns/rerouting that’s insane. Simply adding a stay on same road until next pin, shortest route, etc,so that the most direct path is mapped would be a minimum, for the pro (paid) version. There are other issues, but this is the most severe.
More features than Google Maps
Only a couple drawbacks. You have to do your own math to measure the distance from points you create. Also, should be able to export a file that can be opened in Google or Apple Maps. To share a map with a traveling companion, they have to download and subscribe to the app. Otherwise InRoute is more robust than the other trip planner apps I’ve tried.
Love it except one thing
I use this regularly, however, getting it into an excel sheet afterward is a pain. I have to take a route, route it in a well routed order and then submit that sequence to my client. Should be an easy export to csv or excel. I have been told in the past the feature is coming (years ago) and another major update comes without this feature the only work around is setting it to send in an email and then selecting it all and pasting it all in a sheet. But instead of text numbers they put the little image numbers which don’t copy over so I have to then manually type in 1, 2, 3,… etc. I have been a loyal consumer for almost 10 years and have only ever asked for this one feature. Add this feature and I will bump up to 5 stars. (Another feature would be nice to have is more than 150 sites. I occasionally need to do 300-400 sites or more. That would also be nice.)
Exit number
Wish you showed exit number on highways and roads
My Go To Routing App
This is such a great user friendly routing app. Been using it for maybe ten years and it just keeps getting better. Thank you developers!
Horrible UI
You guys created the most confusing ui. Fire those developers.
Getting better!
On the road on a motorcycle, app says no rain as I’m getting drenched!
Mind of its own
Still glitching out even with ignore closed roads. Have to pay close attention after loading route.
To hard to use
really wanted to like the app, great features- too hard to use. Much easier to use on a tablet than a phone.
Has been our go to for years
We make a significant journey with our teardrop trailer most years. InRoute has been an integral part of planning and execution for all of them.
Fix it now
All of sudden paying for a subscription doesn’t manger anymore. They’ll take your money, but won’t provide the services you have spent your money on. Try to restore and they claim there’s no previous paid subscription for your user name. Yet, it shows that you already have an active subscription at the same damn time. When are you going to FIX THIS PROBLEM?! Make it make sense!
It’s really quite great. Better than RoadWarrier for sure
The only things i would add: -there’s only a “next stop” button but there should be a “previous stop” button too. -there should be an easier way to quickly add a stop DURING route mode and have it inserted as part of the route. Just in case I decide I wanna stop at a chipotle somewhere along my route without having the “end” and then re-map. Not a huge deal though. -I noticed the price went up to $7.99 or something. Tsk tsk tsk…..
Need ext numbers
Still having trouble when I put pin by pin on my turns, it takes me all over the place on the road besides the road I need to stay on
Temperamental at times
I have issues with the software routing crazy U turns and doubling back if I put a pin just a hair off. Perhaps a feature to add would be to magnetically attract the pins to the side of the road you already have pins on. Say if you are continuing west on a highway the subsequent pins should stick to the same side of the road instead of off the road all together. I use this for routing oversized loads, so the route has to match the permit exactly.
Tony Boyd
Thank you for the exit numbers!
Very frustrating
Very poor
Best of its type
The learning curve (particularly how route work is saved and retrieved) is a bit challenging, but overall, best of its type in my opinion.
Over Size Transport Opperator
New To Inrout hope I may become efficient @ using it. Time will Tell
Still won’t avoid motorways
When choosing “avoid highways” in the settings, the app won’t. In fact, even if you place waypoints on an alternative route (for example to use the A38 over the M5) the app will route you off the motorway to hit the waypoint on the A38 and then put you back on the M5 again at the next junction. This is a great app, but where a route I want to use runs close to a motorway, I have given up trying to force this and have to use another app. It’s a shame because I prefer the other features of this app. I feel it’s got a bit too complicated in the last few revisions and I feel like I’m fighting with it more and more.
Buena herramienta
Ayuda ahorrar tiempo
Resize for what poor efficiency?
This app is horrible to use for navigation. Standard functions require conformation while functions that erase all your progress are a single misclick away The creators of this app seem to hate their customers it’s troubling to require an app with no real support
Great Tool
As a pilot truck driver, I find inRoute a great tool to map permit routing. Being able to plot 150 waypoints can get ya through TX!!
Schlechte Fahrtrichtungsanzeige
Excelent address finder but needs some improvements
The app overall is good but for now I prefer to use other option. The app it’s constantly going on standby mode, when you’re driving it’s a bit annoying. Can’t select the gps app you want to use. Can’t select one pin in middle route and activate the gps. Can’t mark and optimize drops by time. Sometimes the optimisation it’s a bit odd, doesn’t make sense… to find addresses it’s excellent, it takes you to the exact address, can even find house names. Unfortunately to work it’s not good enough.
Best mapping software period!
Planing an eighteen day trip to Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way and inRoute makes it easy to save a route for each day of the trip.
Garbage
Compared to PackageRoute this is trash . It literally routes it so you’d have to turn around on a main road for next stop and it puts stops across the street on the left . Fkn idiots. Find a cliff and spread your wings , app creation is for others
In route opinion
With the added exit numbers and showing speed limits is major bonus. I route different permits on almost a daily basis.
ok but lacks important details and info
Really good to be able to enter RV details and dimensions but the app does not show details like lights, stop, etc. But worse, does not give any sense of traffic…so cancelling trial and going back to google and waze, disappointing.
Good but could be better
All in this app helps me save the headache of routing manually. I can see where everything is and route accordingly. However, it does need some improvement. First of it would be nice if the travelled route was a different color than the current path. That would save a lot of wrong turns and keep me on track always. Second more color for stops. I have different customers and color code them based on that. It would be nice to have more options. Third, why do I have to still go onto google maps to make sure it is the fastest route available. So many time it’ll take me on a scenic drive to my destination where I could’ve saved time and fuel! Which brings me to my last and most annoying point. Stop the automatic zoom!!! Please for the love of god! Every time I enter address it zooms right in and I have to zoom out. Imagine having to do that 30-40 times!! Just make the auto zoom for the whole app optional. As previous reviewers said... my eyes and hands are on the phone trying to fight the auto zoom while I’m driving. Please make it stop!!
Best navigation app!
I've had several navigation apps, inRoute by far turned out to be the best of them all.
Not free
The app subscription fees are quite expensive. Not my bag of tea…!
On route
Why are there no exit numbers for exits off major highways and interstates. Would be nice
Misleading?
The developers should make it clear before purchasing the premium app (at £8.99) that it will not provide the ability to add a COMPLETE route to satnav apps such as TomTom (apparently this only works ok with Navigon). As it stands, it seems a little misleading and I've cancelled my purchase as it doesn't really provide an effective add-on to existing satnavs. As a stand-alone app however, it may be fine, though in effect, I think it will only work offline (without 3G/4G data use) through Navigon.
Ok. Needs Google or Apple Maps
The app mostly works ok. The main limitations are 1) the inability to manually choose a route and 2) very poor ability to re-route if you veer off course. The app will only re-direct you back to set waypoints - not your route. This means that the slightest change of course requires (pulling over on the shoulder, removing gloves and ) manually skipping waypoints to prevent the app from forcing you to backtrack. Frustrating.
