Productive
I’ve been using the app for several weeks and have found it to be very helpful and productive
This is all over the place
The app advertises itself as a CBT app, but it's really a mishmash of different approaches without going into any of them in depth. It offers various Al chatbots labeled CBT, AC, DBT, and more, but in practice they all feel like basic ChatGPT prompts with different names. I downloaded it specifically looking for a CBT app and instead found a collection of loosely connected features that don't deliver meaningful CBT support. The positive reviews also seem questionable given the actual experience. If you're looking for cognitive behavioral therapy tools, I'd recommend skipping this app and choosing one that's genuinely designed around CBT.
Hand writing? 3.5 stars
I really like this app so far. The guided prompts and insights are great. I really wish there was a hand writing option on the journaling. Something happens in my brain when I write something down versus typing. I just assumed when downloading it would be a feature. I’m more disappointed than i thought i would be because of it. But other than that, really great app!!
AI therapy is not real therapy
I’m really disappointed to see this app lean into AI. I used this app for two years a few years ago (very helpful at the time) and decided to redownload it while I’m between therapists. Extremely disappointed to see the team lean into AI, even if it is “CBT trained.” Still, I tried to dive into the AI journal a few days in a row. Extremely frustrating. Circular prompts and the classic very avoidant AI style. Using AI for therapy is extremely bad practice. Yes, it’s better that people are using an AI trained on CBT than OpenAI or similar LLMs but I worry this app will legitimize the idea of AI therapy—potentially leading to users to seek out more definite answers that other LLMs provide. This is extremely dangerous as we’ve started to see these effects: direct links to suicides, homicides, and psychosis. Ethics aside, I worry about privacy. I want to know more about the host LLM, which I could not find information on besides what is stated in the privacy policy: “Any AI features such as the AI Chatbot involves data being processed by third party vendors.“ Thus, it is fair to ask where this data is being stored and used. Who are these third party vendors? What are their privacy policies? Is their data encrypted? Inquiry Health LLC may not sell your data, but how are we to know if these third party vendors are beholden to the same? We need more transparency when using AI in medical apps.
Good app, but not keen on the Ai stuff
I like the app, really nice design. But I think journaling with Ai is a bad idea. The LLM is heavily guardrailed and I don’t like the idea of stuff going on a server to an AI provider. Maybe I’d feel a bit more comfortable if it ran a small local model.
SO MUCH HELP
I was super shy about my feelings but this app has helped me open up and trust people again. I have a phobia of trusting others from past trauma so yea.
Wow RIP off! Avoid
So I clicked the free trial option and immediately it took the full annual subscription from my bank account!
Generally good
Please get rid of the part where I have to commit to a 3, 5, 14 day entry streak. I don’t like to make a commitment and you force a commitment I have no intention of following up on. Make it something we can skip. You are forcing people to lie in their own diary just to save the entry.
Has promise but feels rudimentary
This app has promise, and the idea of a Chatbot that can dialogue in a CBT framework is a very interesting concept. Thus far, it felt very rudimentary, just broadly rephrasing what I said, and then offering a brief blurb of context which was so broad and nonspecific as to be functionally useless. I will keep an eye on this, but so far it doesn’t seem particularly helpful.
It’s okay
This app focuses on daily check ins and self reflection. It’s CBT based which can help lessen cognitive distortions and learn more about how you think. This works because by forcing you to reflect, it forces you to acknowledge yourself and encourages you to make changes to your life. It helps with negative thought patterns and turning them into more positive patterns. This is called cognitive restructuring which is proven to help with anxiety and depression and a few other mental health disorders.
Great for shifting perspective
The free version is enough for me. My favorite feature is the analyze your thoughts feature. It helps me to shift my perspective and identify unhelpful thoughts.
This app is useless! Don’t waste your money.
Instead of actually giving me any actionable advice or skills. The cbt ai agent just parrots useless questions back to me. Way worse then using Gemini even though this is supposed to be specialized
it’s helpful after a WHILE
it will help me explain and express my thoughts and feelings but it will definitely take time
Trash to a point.
Helps until it does not.
Some omissions and incorrect setup information
I downloaded Clarity and was informed that I would have a seven day free trial. However, after one day, I received an email from Apple stating that I had been billed for a year of the application in full. I had used a previously but was not aware that I had actually purchased it and apparently my trial period was considered to be up, but that is not what it said when I started the application. My other concern is that although this is a cognitive behavioral therapy application, it does not provide a daily thought record to do actual cognitive behavioral therapy. It does allow you to do journaling. It does provide feedback and it labels emotions and so forth, but it is missing one of the core elements of cognitive behavioral therapy. Perhaps it is in there somewhere but so far I have yet to find it. This application can be useful for some people, but it does not appear to provide actual cognitive behavioral therapy. I am going to try to contact the developer to see if I can get a refund and we will see what happens.
The best app ever for tracking mood swings across your day & helping yourself recognize ur emotions
I’ve tried so so many apps and this one is the best one I reccomend it to everyone who needs it
Do not recommend whatsoever
This app only works for people who have actual therapy support outside the rounds of an AI system. This app does not understand the complexities of mental health issues in general or mental health and does not have the fundamental for mental health. This app literally does not update this app does not move forward with peoples improvement or peoples setbacks. This app also does not tailor for people who are actually going through a mental health crisis that's not an emergency but a daily struggle this app also as it wasn't the app it was Apple. Apple literally denied me on refunding me for a years subscription that I did not want to pay for because I did not want it, and I am now forced and stuck with this app and using it absolutely do not recommend
Love this app but…
This app has been so helpful in organizing my day, writing out where I am emotionally in the moment, and helping me learn more about my thoughts and feelings but… I really wish I could use the app on my laptop and I wish there was better syncing with my iPad. I do an activity on the app on my phone and when I go on my iPad later in the day, it shows like I haven’t done that activity yet.
Chat bot freezes
The chatbot freezes so often, it’s not worth the paid subscription. I was told there would be an update but I’ve been waiting for months. It will freeze spontaneously and as soon as two responses.
Good but…
I should emphasize that this is a supplemental tool for therapy, and quite effective too; using it during the trial period alone helped me with my thoughts and feelings about work life balance, which is then brought up effectively in my therapy sessions. 5/5 for app itself. However… My main gripe is that the app supports Family Sharing, but you can’t enable it within setting for iCloud family, implying that Pro Mode doesn’t allow to be shared with loved ones (in my case, my girlfriend). 3/5 until change is implemented.
Great tools
This app has many useful tools built in, depending on what you want. I like the guided meditations as well as the daily affirmations in particular, but the AI chat can give you some really good insights on what you’re feeling and how to deal with stress, stresses or anxiety.
AI driven
App appears to be programmed for human engagement rather not human help. Logging how you feel can be helpful, but this app encourages tech addiction and dependency.
Thank you, Clarity.
❤️🤗
Mood: frustrated
Turns off my music when I open the app.
Update magical thinking
For analysis thought can you add magical thinking
This helps
It makes me more calm
Doesn’t work on smaller screens
On iPhone 13 mini, when the keyboard is open, the prompt is off the screen and there’s nothing you can do about it, no way to close the keyboard.
Ayuda
Muy buena
Disappointingly repetitive
I’ve tried this for about a month and I’ve not been greatly inspired by it. The prompts are short and the same every day, and it gives very little feedback or opportunity to interact. Doesn’t feel as well developed and guided / supportive as some others I’ve tried.
Need a timer
Needs to be more hands on
This app help a lot
It helped me realize why I didn’t have motivation for self improvement and gave it to me
AI slop
Constantly trying to push an AI chat bot and guided journal. Awful. Money hungry.
HONEST REVIEW FROM PICKEL GURL
I have OCD and A LOT of anxiety! Clarity helps me! Only thing is that I took a test and it said I had 73% depression….. umm yeah I don’t have that problem but it really helps me with all my problems look anyways I love The AI is so corny. BTW PICKLE OUT
I hope the developers read this. Updates were not good.
I’ve been using this app for over three years and highly recommended it to my clients (I’m a therapist) The overall selling points were the simplicity of the app, icons and gratitude list. Recently they changed the gratitude list to some worthless and unnecessary prompts. Making it less effective and time consuming. The second down fall is that the buttons don’t coincide with my iPhone update, making it impossible to push “next” on my phone. I can recommend the cbt function, and continue to enjoy the data graphing which can help a person identify patterns with mood. Developers, bring back the “old” gratitude list and update the iPhone mobile format!
Great app, no mention of cost
Would love to use the full app and I’m sure some people can afford to subscribe. Developers should be upfront and have all the information available about costs on the sign in App Store page.
OCD Aid
I was suggested this by a peer aiding me in my mental health journey. Being able to deconstruct my thoughts and reassess how I’m thinking and feeling is so helpful!
NOT A FREE APP
Not a free app, mental Health should be a priority for everyone, not something to make money from. Crushed & disappointment!! Do better
Can entries be made to sync across devices?
I use the paid version of the app on my iPad and my iPhone. I would love for them to sync. Can you address this?
Ruined the UI
Ruined the user interface for some ridiculous “ergonomic” text box where you’re unable to scroll half the time and read what you’re writing while typing. Don’t “fix” what isn’t broken. Such a simple thing has cheapened the UI and image of this app. Shame.
Great but chat bot crashes every time
Great platform but please fix the chat bot. Seems like a useful tool but every time I use, it crashes after the second response.
App
This app is great for people with axiatey and depression
Took money from deleted app
I deleted the app but still was charged full price I will be getting a refund !
Very helpful but some small glitches
Very helpful information and tools to analyze your thoughts and emotions. Only took off one star because there are small glitches like a button not always working and things like that but not enough to make me not use the app because the content is very helpful
Use chat GPT instead
I found this app particularly useless, even as a paying user. The prompts are super repetitive and the advice is extremely basic. I actually gained no “clarity” or insight into what could be causing my bouts of anxiety. I’d genuinely recommend using chat GPT over this app. It’s useless. AVOID. (Bloom CBT was so much better I miss it so much). (If you’re looking for a replacement, look elsewhere).
Ok
Wow
10/10, could not recommend more
I’m a mental healthcare professional and a person who needs mental healthcare and from both perspectives this app is my absolute favorite. It’s a lifeline for me, especially the responsive journaling feature where it can reflect your thoughts and ask questions
Cashing in on Mental Health,
Cashing in on Mental Health, the rich get healthy and poor get no help …you should be proud of yourselves ,!
Very good just some restrictions
I think this app is amazing to log your mood and check back on how you have been over time but most of the exercises and journaling you have to pay for and the price is quite high but you can still use the app withought just fine and it is still amazing
Thank you cbt app
I cannot thank you enough I’ve tried everything and nothing my works better personally.
It’s okay
I think the emoji feel rating is a bit gimmicky and gets old fast. Standard emojis don’t solve for all emotional states. Create your own? There’s also a bug where if you don’t X the last page of your daily rating (the one with the fire emoji) it doesn’t save your days entry and you lose your day streak count. If you do happen to catch that it wasn’t saved the resume option appears on the top left hand side of the screen when you renter that app the following day.
