Over a half hour attempting app-only pickup
App won’t let you presenter your name/addrss/ID before arriving. Rejected driver license photo because app doesn’t let you upload a good picture and their in-app camera doesn’t let you zoom or focus. and said it needed to call a random contact of mine not using my phone number. App would not accept any picture. Took nearly 100 photos and none of them were accepted. Completely unable to finish the checkout process. Finally just took the vehicle because I had the keys. Terrible experience that took way too long and couldn’t even finish.

truck checkout process is an utter failure
The truck checkout process is an utter failure. With a full connection I am unable to add photos successfully to document the condition of the truck. I press add photo, take a picture, and then when the screen returns, the photo does not appear in line and the skip button does not go away . nothing on screen indicates the upload status of the photo or whether or not it failed or succeeded. And every time I switch between taking the next photo category,, the comment field clears of all the text that I just finished typing up. and since I can't upload any photo successfully, the app pushes back on me, continuing with a skip because "At least one photo must be uploaded." Aggravating and useless.
Gas level
The new update makes it difficult to find gas level, it used to be on the order information. Now it’s nowhere to be found
Jireh Rafa moving helpers
We used the moving company Jireh Rafa for help moving from my storage unit to our house. Jireh Rafa is made up of two men who have known each other for 15 plus years. Oscar and Roger work together so well moving boxes and shelving units and little things here and there, everything. They can practically finish each others sentences. They are humble people. They work hard and hardly want to take a break. They were masters at loading everything and then unloading. I think they must love Tetris. If you need help with moving, these two guys are the ones. The company name is Jireh Rafa. Give them a try. You will be amazed at their strength, professionalism and their kindness. I couldn’t be happier with their work. It was worth every penny.
Fix the camera
Please allow the camera to focus so that way the front of the driver’s license will not be blurry and have to constantly be resubmitted for verification. It should not take 30 minutes to get an acceptable photo for verification. Also, the verification process should not time out if both parties are active.
The app doesn’t work when picking up rental
We picked up our rental truck yesterday. You have to fill in contacts for a second time, even though you filled them out with your reservation, then the app just fell apart. It wanted me to take pictures of the truck from all sides, which I did, but it wouldn’t save them. I tried three times. I finally gave up and hoped it wouldn’t be a problem later. I guess I’ll find out when I drop it off. Very frustrating.
Should improve location tracking
It keeps tracking location all the time app is opening even when not supposed to track. I think it drains my device battery.
Overhaul the app
Terrible. Have to restart from the beginning with any changes you want to make. Also, camera doesn’t allow you to focus so images are blurry. Which they won’t accept. Worse app I’ve used in a long time.
Horrible App
Do not use in app pick up or drop off. The app will crash before you get through the entire process. The location you reserve from will not be able to help. And you will have to call in (and wait) to get any assistance.
Reservation
I reserved my rental and had the option to either pick it up through the app or through the counter. With it being busy, I chose the app. Came to pick it up and they instructed me to still wait in line and talk to someone at the counter. So why even give me a choice? So stupid
Broken, Doesn’t register photos
I’m stuck in the uhaul office trying to find the clerk who disappeared, because the app isn’t registering any of the photos I’ve taken, which is a mandatory step for completing the checkout process. Because god forbid we have employees take care of any of this stuff these days.
Stopped Working
I signed up for a locker at the U-Haul facility in Bolingbrook. I was able to use the app for about five weeks before it completely went haywire. I was not able to login with an access code that wasn’t ever sent to me or pay my locker fee.
Disappointing
In app camera refuses to focus. The app wouldn’t accept any of my pictures of the outside of the truck and I wish it let me submit my license when I was home instead of when I drove 20 minutes to the location to pick up the truck horrible pick up experience.
Bad interface
App only works when it wants to, glitched multiple times, some of the deals provided in the purchase menu disappeared. App seems more convenient for the company than for the buyer. Disappointed Also, didn’t even come with windshield washer fluid. Ac worked wonderfully though. That part was amazing. Vehicles function well, your app just needs to catch up
Worst App I’ve ever used
Why does this app have a good rating? It’s absolutely terrible.
Apple should ban them until they fix their problems
The app is very buggy, but the biggest issue is that does not recognize location services when it is set to only use location when using the app. And when you leave the location services to always on, it will drain a phone’s battery and a matter of an hour or two.
Reservations And Completed
My reserved trucks and my completed services keep mixing up. You guys really need to update your app. I can’t edit a reservation without the app thinking I’m on a different reservation and it’s frustrating.
Truck reservations work but equipment photo check-in is broken
The app works fine for reserving a new truck. But the process of uploading photos of the different views of the vehicle when checking in or out does not work 90% of the time. You take the photo for one view and then when you take the photos for the next view, the previous photo just vanishes. Or get through taking all of the photos and when you submit them, you end up on the same image upload screen with all photos gone. I have had to “glitch” my way through 2 truck rentals to successfully do any pick up or drop off after hours. Fortunately I did not get stuck completely and was able to guess my way to a workaround. It’s a terrible experience.
Uhaul refused 2nd form of payment and stole loaded truck
So to start, the initial contract was three days, around August 3. We had to keep extending it, because we are elderly people. Then there was a problem that they refused a second form of payment to keep extending the truck. My 79 year old mom has cancer and dementia, deaf too. Uhaul corporate information claimed that we had not contacted them in 10 days, which wasn’t true at all. We made contact on Saturday and Wednesday. Yet while my mom was talking to them, around 4 PM Wednesday, they were stealing the truck and cutting the chains on my trailer down to 2 inches. So here we are at a new location where they have delivered the truck and told us elderly people that we had 72 hours to remove our things from the truck that took us 3 weeks to pack and the truck will not start and the tires have been deflated. We were told by our original, Uhaul managerThat we would be able to pay off the first contract and re-rent the very same truck.Instead they are treating us like criminals as if they don’t recall that I’ve rented more than $10,000 worth of trucks since December 3, 2024 when I was wrongfully evicted from my inheritance byAttorneys hired by the Catholic Church. Our original U-Haul manager was a God-sent earth angel/Saint who helped us out multiple times over the last year and a half that we’ve been stuck out in this almost homeless position. .Unfortunately, Uhaul has decided to demote him because supposedly he wasn’t making enough money for them? Clearly, the Uhaul Corporate has a very short memory because they don’t even keep track of how much money I’ve spent with them. you would imagine that having a steady income like we have provided with our eight storages and multiple trucks would be more than enough to be respectful to the customer? Do you know if one truck cost me $1000 for one month and then 4 of My storages cost $700 a month, I don’t understand how they are missing their money? Will these hapless young men have put us in touch with some other managers in corporate and presumably they’re going to repair the truck so that we can get to our destination 100 miles away,Rather than treating us like criminals and telling us to move our possessions. We should be getting a call here later this afternoon that the truck has been repaired. God help me, but I hope it’s true. I don’t know if I need to start a business account with U-Haul so they can keep track of how much money I keep spending with them?Did I mention that it is August and we have 106° temperatures here in Houston? I was trying to avoid heat stroke because by noon I started feeling nauseous. It’s still August!!
Glitchy and confusing
The app was glitching when I had to upload a picture. Every time I tried to upload a picture it would create a new tab within the app with no pictures uploaded. It took me forever to realize I had to back arrow to the page with the pictures. It was annoying because I had to go to my apartment by a certain time to get my key. I’m also flabbergasted that we aren’t able to do most of the information before we arrive for pickup and a lot of the things you enter at the initial reservation you have to re enter at pickup. My recommendation is that when you arrive all you have to do left is take pictures of the vehicle and get the key. And drop off was also a hassle. You are allowed to say no location preference for dropoff but upon doing the dropoff through the app you now get an error. So why provide the option. I had to do text support to figure this out and she entered the location for me so I could continue. I almost missed my train because of this. Overall this app needs a lot of changes.
App is Useless
I have tried so many times to login to the app. It says it will send me a one time code. That code never arrives. I go in and try to do it again, it asks for more information. Then it gives me an error code. This is probably seven tries over multiple weeks.
Monetize your own time
With the new update, there’s no way to see past orders and simple re-order anymore. I only rent one type of trailer occasionally, and now with each reservation I need to answer 365 questions again about do I need the loading help or packaging materials. Been renting dozens of times, never needed it, why ask me again?
